Louis Pica, a former Stamford resident, died Sunday, Jan. 12, at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville, Ky. He was 72. He died of heart complications, according to his family. Born Oct. 12, 1930, in Minturno, Italy, he was the son of the late Fred and Mary Pica. Mr. Pica and his family immigrated to Yonkers, N.Y., in 1938. He moved to Stamford in 1980, where he lived until retiring to Louisville, Ky., three years ago. Mr. Pica was a roofer and a sheet metal worker at Pica Roofing Co. in Yonkers. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife, Linda Pica of Louisville; three daughters, Tina Kowalczyk of Gaylordsville, and Edith Pica and Theresa Pica, both of Yonkers; four sons, Fred Pica and Louis Pica Jr., both of Pittsboro, N.C., Anthony Pica of Rhinebeck, N.Y., and Todd Pica of Louisville, Ky.,; a sister, Lucy Negri of Croton, N.Y.; and 12 grandchildren. Calling hours will be 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 17, at Sinatra Funeral Home, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers, N.Y. A memorial service will take place at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. His body will be cremated. Jean-Jacques Picard of North Salem, N.Y., former owner of Star Carpet in Stamford, died Tuesday, June 10, at home. He was 95. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born Oct. 22, 1907 in Lausanne, Switzerland, he was the son of the late Camile and Bonna Dreyfus Picard. Mr. Picard lived in Stamford for 50 years before moving to North Salem in 1996. He was a former member of the Halloween Yacht Club. He is survived by a son, Daniel Picard of North Salem, N.Y.; two daughters, Catherine Rosen of San Francisco and Yvonne Picard of Tiburon, Calif.; a sister, Andree Picard of Geneva, Switzerland; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by three sisters, Georgette Picard, Suzy Gunther and Germaine Marx. A graveside service was held Thursday, June 12, at Agudath Sholom cemeteryin Stamford. Memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Arrangements were handled by Gallagher Funeral Home, 2900 Summer St., Stamford.

Turi Pirrone, a Norwalk resident died Saturday, Aug. 23, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 82. He died of complications from diabetes, according to his family. Born Nov. 9, 1920, in Breschia, Italy, he was a son of the late Joseph and Theresa Zani Pirrone. Mr. Pirrone was a veteran of World War II, having served in the Army Air Force, and was a former member of the South Norwalk Boat Club. He is survived by a son, Terry J. Pirrone of Norwalk; a daughter, Barbara Duckworth of Norwalk; a sister, Anna Buchta Yaeger of Stamford; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Millie Kraemer. Calling hours will be 5 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 25, at Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the funeral home. Joseph A. Pisani of Shelton, a retired carpenter, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was 77. He died of cardiac arrest, according to his family. Born Jan. 6, 1925, in Bridgeport, he was the son of the late Anthony and Angelina Pisani. Mr. Pisani was a U.S. Army veteran. He served in the European Theater during World War II and took part in the liberation of Paris. He worked for the former E&F Construction in Bridgeport and P. Francini and Sons in Derby. He was a member of the Carpenters Union Local 210. He had lived in Shelton for most of his life. In his retirement, Mr. Pisani did carpentry and locksmithing work. He also made hundreds bird houses and bird feeders and gave them away to people. Mr. Pisani is survived by his wife, Josephine Iosso Pisani of Shelton; a son, Joseph F. Pisani of Orange, editor and senior vice president of The Advocate and Greenwich Time; two daughters, Dr. Margaret Pisani of Trumbull and Kathy Lieberman of Hamden; two brothers, Nicholas Pisani of Bridgeport and Thomas Pisani of Milford; two sisters, Catherine Tramontanis of Milford and Jeanne Lattanzi of New Haven; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. today, Dec. 27, at Riverview Funeral Home, 390 River Road, Shelton. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Dec. , 28, traveling to St. Margaret Mary Church, 380 Long Hill Ave., Shelton, for a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m. Burial with full military honors will follow at Riverside cemeteryin Shelton. William R. Pishkur

William R. Pishkur, a longtime Greenwich resident, died Wednesday, Oct. 8, at The Nathaniel Witherell nursing home in Greenwich. He was 80. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born May 29, 1923, in Girard, Ohio, he was a son of the late Joseph and Jenny Ivanich Pishkur. Mr. Pishkur worked as a chauffeur for Remington, Rand and Young & Rubicam for more than 30 years. He lived in Greenwich since 1955 and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by a son, Gary C. Pishkur of Greenwich; two sisters, Mildred Vasilcik of Bellflower, Calif., and Florence Weigand of Danielson; two brothers, Rudy Pishkur of Hubbard, Ohio, and Edward Pishkur of Carpon Springs, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. He was predeceased by his wife of 43 years, Dorothy May Mills Pishkur. All services are private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Michael J. Roman F. Pomponi, a mechanical design engineer who lived in Beacon Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 28, at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He was 67. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born June 11, 1935, in Stamford, he was a son of the late Stefano and Rosalinda Silvestri Pomponi. Mr. Pomponi was raised in Stamford. He then lived in Norwalk, where he lived until moving to Beacon Falls about two years ago. He graduated from J.M. Wright Technical School in Stamford and from the University of Bridgeport. Mr. Pomponi served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a self-employed mechanical design engineer, and an avid baseball player in several local leagues. He is survived by his wife, Eileen Fahey Pomponi of Beacon Falls; a son, Dante Pomponi of Norwalk; a daughter, Danielle Pomponi of Beacon Falls; three brothers, Larry Pomponi of Stamford, Silvester Pomponi of Bedford, Mass., and Anthony Pomponi of Darien; and a sister, Lydia LoDato of Norwalk. Calling hours will be 5 to 9 p.m., Friday, Jan. 31, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk. Constance M. Levoce Post of Stamford died Saturday, Feb. 15, at Stamford Hospital. She was 92. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Nov. 18, 1910, in New York City, she was a daughter of the late John and Mary Sarubi Levoce. Mrs. Post lived in Stamford for the past 12 years. She worked in the credit department of Gristede Bros. in the Bronx, N.Y., for 20 years. She was a member of St. Maurice Church in Stamford. She is survived by her son, the Rev. Robert J. Post, associate pastor at St. Thomas More Church in Darien and chaplain of Stamford Fire Department; a sister, Theresa Papachristou of New Rochelle, N.Y. She was predeceased by her husband, Carl P. Post; two sisters, Philomena Valinote and Antoinette Mauro; and two brothers, Frank Levoce and Paschal Levoce. Calling hours will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 18, at Nicholas F. Mrs. Potter, formerly of New Britain and the Springdale section of Stamford, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Avante Nursing Home in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. She was 86. She died of Alzheimer's disease, according to her family. Born March 17, 1917, in New Britain, she was a daughter of George and Helen Dennis.

Katherine Pastuszak Potter of West Hartford, a former Stamford resident, died, Friday, June 20, at St. Mary's Home in West Hartford. She was 86. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Feb. 22, 1917, in Ansonia, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Ksenia Diakun Pastuszak. Mrs. Potter lived in Stamford for many years before moving to West Hartford 10 years ago. She was a longtime employee of Pitney Bowes in Stamford and a member of St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Stamford. She is survived by two daughters, Virginia Rossi of West Hartford and Jayne Beaumont of Concord, Mass.; a sister, Olga Rigo of Stamford; two brothers, William Pastuszak of Darien and George Paster of Florida; and seven grandchildren. Besides her parents, Mrs. Potter was predeceased by her first husband, Albert Brello, and her second husband, Vincent Potter. There will be no calling hours. A funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 24, at St. Vladimir's Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral in Stamford. Burial will follow in St. John's cemeteryin Darien. Veronica Helen Potter of Ellenton, Fla., formerly of New Britain and Springdale in Stamford, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, at Avante Nursing Home in Jacksonville Beach, Fla. She was 86. She died of Alzheimer's disease, according to her family. Born March 17, 1917, in New Britain she was a daughter of George and Helen Dennis. She was a member of Rebekah Lodge I.O.O.F. of Connecticut in Greenwich. She is survived by two sons, George O. Potter Jr. and Robert C. Potter, both of Norwalk; two daughters, Barbara A. Broadhurst of Altamonte Springs, Fla. and Holly McCann of Jacksonville Beach, Fla.; 13 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband, George O. Potter Sr.; and a daughter, Gloria G. Gagola. Memorial services will be held at a later date in Norwalk. Dario V. Pradella of Stamford, a contractor, died Tuesday, Aug. 19, at the Richard L. Rosenthal Hospice Residence in Stamford. He was 52. He died of cancer, according to his family. Born Sept. 19, 1950, in Naples, Italy, he was a son of Isabella Allegretta Pradella of New Providence, N.J., and the late Guido Pradella. Mr. Pradella lived in Stamford for 20 years. He worked as a self-employed painting and wallpaper-hanging contractor. He emigrated from Naples to New York City in 1962. An avid sports fan, he enjoyed soccer, tennis and football. He also had a great love of cooking. He had traveled extensively through Europe in his youth. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his daughter, Nicole Pradella of Stamford; his former wife, Ellen Kalvarsky Pradella of Stamford; and a brother, Ferruccio Pradella of Summit, N.J. Calling hours will be 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 23, at the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory, 104 Myrtle Ave., Stamford, with a service at 5:30 p.m. Burial will be private. Felix Arthur Prince, a longtime Stamford resident and builder, died Saturday, Nov. 9 at home. He was 94. He died of natural causes, according to his family. Born Oct. 26, 1908 in Reggio Calabria, Italy, he was the son of the late Domenico Prince and Marian Cimino. Mr. Prince was a retired builder and a partner with M.P.M. Builders in Stamford for many years. He was a communicant and usher at St. Leo's Church in Stamford, where he was a member of the Holy Name Society. He was also a woodcutter for St. Leo's Craft Group. He belonged for 45 years to the Knights of Columbus, where he was a 4th-degree knight in St. Augustine Council #41. Mr. Prince, a trumpet and bass player, was a former member of the musicians' local union in Stamford. He is survived by his wife, Carmella Palmer Prince of Stamford; a son, Kenneth A. Prince of Norwalk; a daughter, Barbara A. Rigo of Stamford; a brother, Steven Prince of Brookfield; a sister, Florence Faillaci of Pompano Beach, Fla.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandsons. Rose M. Prizio of Glastonbury, a former Stamford resident and Clairol employee, died Sunday, Oct. 20, at Hartford Hospital. She was 77. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born March 1, 1925, in San Mango Sul Calore, Italy, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Maria Uva. Mrs. Prizio worked in the shipping department at Clairol Inc. in Stamford for more than 20 years. She moved to Glastonbury 15 years ago. She is survived by her husband, James J. Prizio of Glastonbury; two sons, John P. Prizio of Stamford and Joseph J. Prizio of Brookfield; a daughter, Joyce Prizio of South Glastonbury; a brother, Silvio Uva of Trumbull; a sister, Belinda Guerrera of Trumbull; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Jakub Prokopiuk of Stamford, a student at Stamford High School, died Sunday, Nov. 10, in Stamford. He was 17. He died of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, according to police. Born Sept. 11, 1985, in Bialyslok, Poland, he was a son of Robert and Iwona Buczynska Prokopiuk of Stamford. He moved with his family to Stamford six years ago. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his twin brother, Patryk Prokopiuk of Stamford; paternal grandparents, Tersa Czerwinski of Stamford and Wlodzimierz Prokopiuk of Bialyslok; maternal grandparents, Janina Buczynska and Janusz Buczynski of Bialyslok; an aunt; and a cousin. Christine H. "Christy" Promack of Jackson, Wyo., a former Stamford resident, died Thursday, July 24 at her home in Jackson. She was 54. She died of cancer, according to her family. Born Aug. 20, 1948, in Greenwich, she was a daughter of the late Charles F. and Helen U. Mayer. Mrs. Promack attended New Lebanon Elementary School in Greenwich and graduated from Greenwich High School in 1966. She attended Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y., graduating in 1970. She lived in Stamford for 25 years. She worked as a math teacher and as dean of the fifth and sixth grades at Rye Country Day School in Rye, N.Y., from 1980 to 2001. While in Stamford, she was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Catholic Church in Stamford, where she sang in the choir. After moving to Jackson in July 2001, she was a special education teacher at Teton County Middle School in Jackson, working with the physically and mentally handicapped. She was a member of the Jackson Hole Christian Center. Mrs. Promack loved the outdoors. She enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing, boating, hiking and snowmobiling in western Wyoming. She is survived by her husband, Stanley Promack of Jackson; a sister, Karen A. Mayer of Greenwich; a brother, Jeffrey B. Mayer of Hauppauge, N.Y.; and four nephews. There are no calling hours. A memorial ceremony will be at noon Wednesday, Aug. 20, at the Promack ranch in Pinedale, Wyo. to scatter her ashes. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Clement Church in Stamford at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Christy's Hope, P.O. Box 555, Jackson, WY 83001. Christy's Hope is a foundation that provides fishing and camping outings for the handicapped and elderly in the Jackson Hole area.

Constance G. Provenzale of Fairfield, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., died Monday, Aug. 12, at Carolton Convalescent Home in Fairfield. She was 86. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Aug. 10, 1916, in Brooklyn, she was the daughter of the late John and Josephine Panuzzo. She is survived by two sons, Stamford police Officer Leonard Provenzale of Ridgefield and James Provenzale of Chapel Hill, N.C.; two daughters, Constance Neeley of Chapel Hill and Josephine Achiron of Fairfield; and nine grandchildren. Calling hours will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 16, at St. Pius X Church, Brookside Drive, Fairfield. Burial will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale, Long Island, N.Y.

Michael J. Pustella, a lifelong New Canaan resident, died Sunday, Dec. 28, at Norwalk Hospital. He was 86. He died of heart failure, according to his family. Born Dec. 12, 1917, in New Canaan, he was the son of the late Matteus and Helen Sverki Pustella. A carpenter by trade, Mr. Pustella was the owner of Bradley Kitchen Cabinet, formerly of Stamford. He served in the U.S. Marines during World War II and was a former member of the Ischoda Yacht Club in Norwalk. He is survived by his wife, Ann Narajka Pustella of New Canaan; two brothers, Stanley Pustella of Stamford and Edward Pustella of Beckett, Mass.; and several nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be 6 to 8 p.m. today, Dec. 30, at Hoyt Funeral Home, 199 Main St., New Canaan. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 31, at St. Aloysius Church, 40 Maple St., New Canaan. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Darien. Jacquelyn May Putterman of Manalapan, Fla., a former resident of San Francisco and Norwalk, died Thursday, Dec. 11, at her home at The Carlisle Private Residence. She was 85. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born Dec. 31, 1917, in Los Angeles, she was a daughter of the late Berthold and Sadye Levin. Mrs. Putterman was an avid world traveler. She also attended the Art Student League of Manhattan and other private classes. Her husband, the late Harold Putterman, was past president of Yankee Metal Products Corporation of Norwalk. Mrs. Putterman is survived by two daughters, Luanne Glazer-Cooper of Wellington, Fla., and Loralee Ballesteros of Norwalk; a son, Lawrence Putterman of New York City; a sister, Janet Saks of San Francisco; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Winifred Levin and Selma Rockowitz. A service will be held at 11 a.m., Sunday, Dec. 14, at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow in Beth David cemeteryin Elmont, N.Y. Shiva will be observed at the home of Loralee and Horatio Ballesteros on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.

Anna M. Quinn, a lifelong Stamford resident, died Sunday, Sept. 28, at Homestead Health Center in Stamford. She was 81. She died of natural causes, according to her family. Born July 1, 1922, in Stamford, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna Polcin Quinn. Miss Quinn worked in several factories in the area before her retirement. She is survived by four sisters, two brothers and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters and four brothers. There will be no calling hours. Services and burial will be private.
