(Rose) Lee Weston, 88, was Bridgewater resident
(Rose) Lee Weston, 88, of Bridgewater, wife of the late Murray Weston, died July 1 at the Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in New Milford.
She was born June 13, 1914, in Worcester, Mass., the daughter of the late Israel and Etta Greece. She attended schools in Worcester before moving to New York City.
After moving to New Fairfield in 1961, she was a full-time homemaker and worked part-time for the National Shoe Store at Berkshire Shopping Center. She also worked full-time at the Berkshire Shopping Center as the deli supervisor for many years. She retired in 1986.
She lived in Danbury from 1978 until she moved to Bridgewater in 1993.
Mrs. Weston enjoyed crocheting, reading and crossword puzzles until the birth of her grandchildren. After the birth of her grandchildren, Taylor and Spencer, they became the main focus of her life, often reading to, playing with and helping take care of them.
Mrs. Weston is survived by her son, Mitchell B. Weston, detective captain in the Danbury Police Department, and his wife Diane of Bridgewater; and two grandsons, Taylor Davianna Weston and Spencer Wyatt Weston of Bridgewater. In addition to her husband and her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Joseph Greece, Mac Greece and David Greece.
The Green Funeral Home in Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Edith Woodrow, 48, was a New Milford resident
Edith Mary Woodrow, 48, of New Milford died June 22 at her home.
Ms. Woodrow was born Dec. 12, 1953, in New York City, a daughter of Joseph Woodrow of New Milford and the late Mary L. Woodrow.
She lived most of her life in New Milford after spending part of her early years on Long Island, N.Y. She was a member of the New Milford Bible Baptist Church.
Besides her father, she is survived by an aunt, Helena Wojciechowski, with whom she lived; her twin brother, Charles of California; and four sisters, Barbara of Connecticut, Suzanne Leblanc and Gloria Brisco of California and Judith Kanda of Washington.

Anita Marisco, 63, mother of New Milford woman
Anita L. Marisco, 63, of Whisconier Road, Brookfield, died June 28 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Frank J. Marisco.
Mrs. Marisco was born Feb. 2, 1939, in Stamford, daughter of the late Anthony and Mary (Golia) Vena.
She was a resident of Brookfield for 36 years. She was manager of compensation and benefits for the Ethan Allen Company for 28 years.
Besides her husband, she is survived by a son, Frank III of Brookfield; a daughter, Caroline Frias of New Milford; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

AnnMarie Erhardt, 49, was a Sherman resident
AnnMarie Erhardt, 49, of 10 Pinewood Shores, Sherman, died June 29 at Danbury Hospital after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of Mark S. Erhardt.
Mrs. Erhardt was born June 10, 1953, in the Bronx, N.Y., the daughter of Onorina Summa and the late Vito Summa.
She graduated from Monroe High School in the Bronx. In 1986, she moved from New Rochelle, N.Y., to Sherman, where she donated her time to Holy Trinity Church, the Ladies Guild and the Sherman schools while keeping up her bowling game and writing for the Sherman Sentinel newspaper.
Besides her husband and mother, Mrs. Erhardt is survived by a son, William Doolan of Sherman; a daughter Debra Allen of Orangeburg, N.Y.; a stepson, Mark of Indian Head, Md.; two brothers, Vito Summa of Toms River, N.J., and Michael Summa of Shrub Oak, N.Y.; three grandchildren, Keith, Alannah and Brent Allen; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Summa.

Clara Teerkorn, 98, mother of New Milford woman
Clara Frieda (Haug) Teerkorn, 98, formerly of Kimberly Place, Danbury, died June 27 at Laurel Ridge Nursing Center in Ridgefield. She was the widow of Theodore A. Teerkorn.
Mrs. Teerkorn was born Jan. 31, 1904, in Pforzheim, Germany, a daughter of the late August and Bertha (Heinz) Haug.
She emigrated to the United States in 1928 and had resided in New York City and Long Island before moving to Danbury following the death of her husband.
She was a senior volunteer at Danbury Hospital, where she received her pin for 2,000 hours of volunteer service. She also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and cooking in her spare time.
Mrs. Teerkorn is survived by a daughter, Helen Osterhoudt of New Milford; two granddaughters, Valerie Osterhoudt of Cromwell and Stacy Osterhoudt of Columbia, S.C.; and two great-grandsons, Kyle and Jakob Schaff of Cromwell.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Lorraine Slaughter, 82, longtime Kent resident
Lorraine (Hanke) Slaughter, 82, of Kent Hollow Road, Kent, died June 26 at her home. She was the widow of John C. Slaughter.
Mrs. Slaughter was born June 15, 1920, in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of the late Arthur and Emma (Haseman) Hanke.
She moved to Kent from New Fairfield in 1950. She served as a volunteer in the emergency room at New Milford Hospital for 20 years.
She is survived by a son, Crawford of Warren; three daughters, Beverly Gottlieb of Kent, Lorraine Myers of Canaan and Susan Hatley of Salt Lake City, Utah; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are private. Burial will be in the Kent Hollow Cemetery.

Germaine Bourdeau, 91, longtime Bridgewater resident
Germaine Doris (Jarvis) Bourdeau, 91, of 72 Old Farms Lane, New Milford, died July 5 at the Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the wife of Ubald D. Bourdeau.
Mrs. Bourdeau was born April 13, 1911, in Albans, Vt., daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Guay) Jarvis.
She attended schools in St. Albans before moving to Bridgewater in 1940. She had served as a part-time cook at Burnham School in Bridgewater.
She was a member of the Roxbury Women’s Guild for many years and a member of the Bridgewater Women’s Auxiliary.
She ran the vegetable exhibit at the Bridgewater Fair for many years and also helped with the cake stand. She was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Bourdeau is survived by five daughters, Helen Swanson and her husband Eric of New Milford, Polly Johnson and her husband Donald of East Hartford, Marion Dwy and her husband Douglas of Orwell, Vt., Alice Licursi and her husband Anthony of Brookfield, and Sylvia Sostak and her companion George O’Toole of New Milford; three sisters, Mary Godin, Cecelia Brouillette and Sister Agnes Lanier; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

William Manning, 82, had managed local Finast store
William J. Manning, 82, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died July 3 at his home. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Stefanko) Manning.
Mr. Manning was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Newburgh, N.Y., son of the late James and Eva (McCloskey) Manning.
He was a 1938 graduate of Danbury High School. He was employed for more than 50 years with the former Finast Supermarkets. He managed stores in Danbury, Sandy Hook and New Milford.
When Finast opened stores in the New York area, he became supervisor of the New York division and moved to Franklin Lakes, N.J. He then joined the real estate end of the company. After retiring, he moved to Bonita Springs.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Kevin of Fort Meyers, Fla., and John of Bonita Springs; three granddaughters, Melissa, Amy, and Samantha of Maywood, N.J.; four sisters, Kathleen Beckett, Marie Manning, Norma Grapkoski, and Jane Romer of Danbury; a niece, Maureen Durand of New Milford; and a nephew, William Collins of California.
Shikany’s Bonita Funeral Home of Bonita Springs was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy Galligan, 82, was mother of New Milford man
Dorothy T. (Wanser) Galligan, 82, of Danbury died July 7 at Danbury Hospital.
She was born in the Bronx, N.Y., Feb. 11, 1920, to the late Clarence and Annrose (Dudley) Wanser.
Mrs. Galligan was married to retired New York City Fire Department member John E. Galligan Sr.
She was a homemaker in Danbury and was a member of Saint Gregory the Great Church and the Brookfield AARP.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, John E. Galligan Jr. of New Milford and William D. Galligan Sr. of Carmel, N.Y.; one daughter, Robyn E. Gallo of Woodbury; four grandsons, John E. Galligan III, William Galligan Jr., Brian Galligan and Nicholas Gallo; three granddaughters, Valerie Altobelli, Jennifer Gallo and Kristina Gallo; two great-grandchildren, Brandi Galligan and John E. Galligan IV; and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass will be announced at a later date. Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.

Arline Groeschner, 89, mother of New Milfordites
Arline Groeschner, 89, of 15 Crosby Commons, Shelton, formerly of Norwalk, died June 29 at the Bishop Wicke Rehabilitation Center in Shelton. She was the widow of Earl Groeschner.
Mrs. Groeschner was born Sept. 5, 1912, in New Haven, daughter of the late Dana and Arline (Page ) Macmillen.
She was a Shelton resident for two years, previously living in Gulfport, Fla. She was a proofreader at the New Canaan Advertiser, Darien Review and Wilson H. Lee.
She is survived by two sons, Robert and Donald of New Milford.
The Riverview Funeral Home of Shelton was in charge of arrangements.

Mary Bachar, 86, was grandmother of resident
Mary Bachar, 86, of Pinnacle Way, Danbury, died July 2. She was the widow of Leon Bachar.
Mrs. Bachar was born in Detroit, a daughter of the late Peter and Eva Kushnerewich of Canada.
She was an area resident since 1950, when she arrived from Montreal, Canada. She lived in Danbury for the past 52 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Frances Revell of Danbury; a son, John and his wife Sarafina of Danbury; three grandchildren, Evelyn and John Jr. of Danbury and Dawn St. Jean and her husband Matthew of New Milford; seven sisters, Sophie Nimer and Anne Asmar of Danbury, Leona Mackett, Jeanne Edisbury and Stefanie Tetreault of Montreal, Tillie Hussul of Calgary, Alberta, and Wanda LeDuc of St. Jerome, Quebec; a brother, Joe Kushnerewich of Montreal; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 12 Cottage St., Danbury, today (Friday) at 11:30 a.m. Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery.
