Michael Hibert, 36, was brother of local woman
Michael J. Hibert, 36, of Medford, Ore., died unexpectedly at his home Feb. 10.
Born in Brooklyn, he was the son of Thomas and Ann Hibert of Danbury. He was a resident of Oregon for the past 16 years.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his grandmother, Gertrude Hibert of Danbury; his brothers, Thomas Hibert of Florida and Kevin Hibert of Danbury; his sisters, Donna Lockwood of New Milford, Colleen Hibert of Massachusetts, and Kelly Davidowski and Denise Weber, both of Danbury; as well as 13 nieces and nephews.
Private services were conducted in Oregon.

Alice Bateman, 90, aunt of New Milford man
Alice M. Bateman, 90, formerly of Driftway Road, Danbury, died Feb. 10 at Mediplex of Danbury following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of the late Joseph B. Bateman and had been a lifelong Danbury resident.
Mrs. Bateman was born in Danbury Nov. 10, 1908, a daughter of George W. and Jennie Lewis Bateman. She was a lifelong member of the First Congregational Church. She had taken great pride in her home, and she was an excellent needleworker.
Mrs. Bateman is survived by her two nephews, George Baxter of New Milford and William Baxter of Florida; her nieces, Marion Mannion of Brookfield and Barbara Goldstein of Arizona; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two brothers, George and Charles Baxter; and a sister, Mildred Baxter Ahle.
The Tomlinson Homestead of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Dorothy M. McEnroe, 88, leaves a daughter in Kent
Dorothy M. McEnroe, 88, of Amenia, N.Y., died Feb. 13 at Sharon Hospital in Sharon. She was the widow of Leo E. McEnroe Sr.
Mrs. McEnroe was born May 17, 1910, in South Amenia, N.Y., daughter of the late Garwood Belter Sr. and Emma (Hulst) Belter. She was a long-time resident of Amenia and communicant of Immaculate Conception Church in Amenia.
She is survived by three sons, Leo E. McEnroe Jr. and Joseph McEnroe, both of Amenia, and James McEnroe of Burlington Flats, N.Y.; two daughters, Margaret Wilcox of Amenia and Dorothy Casey of Kent; a stepbrother, Henry Belter of Lakeville; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
The Hufcut Funeral Home of Dover Plains, N.Y., was in charge of arrangements.

William Hildebrandt, 80, father of local man
William E. Hildebrandt, 80, of 46 Candlewood Shores Road, Brookfield, died at his home Feb. 10. He was the husband of Catherine T. O'Connell Hildebrandt.
Born in New York City, he was the son of Edward F. and Margaret C. Gribbon Hildebrandt. He received his education in New York City, attended St. Cecilia Grammar School and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. He later attended the Delahanty Institute, a firefighter training academy.
Mr. Hildebrandt was a veteran of World War II and served for four years in the Army in Iceland and the campaign in Germany, for which he was awarded the Rhineland Battle Ribbon.
He was a firefighter for the city of New York, retiring in 1983 after 42 years of service. He retired from Battalion 20, Engine Co. #61 as a battalion chief.
He was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Brookfield, its church choir and formerly of its Men's Club. He was a member of "The Notebles" singing group and had performed in St. Joseph's Minstrel and the Brookfield Playhouse. He was a member of the Candlewood Valley Country Club in New Milford, where he scored a hole-in-one, and he was a member of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association.
Besides his wife, Mr. Hildebrandt is survived by a son, Gregory W. Hildebrandt of New Milford; a daughter, Karen C. Marcucci of Staten Island, N.Y.; five grandchildren, Daniel, Laura Kate, Stephanie, Blaise and Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.
The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Dominic J. Manluccia, 80, received Purple Heart
Dominic J. Manluccia, 80, of Danbury, died at the Heritage Heights Nursing Home in Danbury Feb. 10.
He was born in Danbury, Oct. 22, 1918, son of Pasquale and Margaret (Falcetano) Manluccia.
Mr. Manluccia was a Danbury resident all of his life and was a graduate of Danbury schools. He served with the U.S. Army in the Philippines during World War II and was wounded in action. Mr. Manluccia was a recipient of the Purple Heart.
He worked in the shipping department of the former Castro Convertible Company and later worked at the Tenax Corporation in Danbury. Following his retirement from Tenax, he worked part-time in the security department at the Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Manluccia is survived by two sons, Dominic P. Manluccia of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Charles S. Manluccia of New Milford; a stepson, John Sterry of New Milford; three sisters, Evelyn Howley and Josephine George, both of Danbury, and Fay Mortara of Bethel; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two daughters, Gloria Manluccia in 1956 and Maria Lourenco in 1989; a brother, Frank Manluccia; and three sisters, Marge Webb, "Molly" Howley and Lena Torcaso.

Blanche Belot, 83, leaves several area residents
Blanche R. DeLong Belot, 83, of 7 North Road, Bethel, died Feb. 10 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Marcel F. Belot.
Mrs. Belot was born in Danbury, April 2, 1915, a daughter of Leroy and Mildred Webb DeLong. She was later raised by her stepfather, Michael Piccirillo.
She was a waitress for many years at the Doughboy Restaurant in Bethel until opening the Bethel Diner. She was a member of the Bethel Methodist Church.
Mrs. Belot is survived by two sons, Robert M. Belot and James R. Belot, both of Bethel; a sister, Gladys Koltz of Georgetown; four grandchildren, William Belot and Barbara Belot of Danbury, Tammy Belot of Prospect, and Greg Belot of New Milford; and three great-grandchildren, Nicholas Belot of New Fairfield, Brittney Belot of Waterbury and Tyler Belot of New Milford.
The Bethel Funeral Home of Bethel was in charge of arrangements.

William Managan Jr., 79, leaves local relatives
William F. Managan Jr., 79, of 1 Kingsbury Road, New Fairfield, died Feb. 11 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Jane L. (Covill) Managan.
Born in Maybrook, N.Y., Oct. 1, 1919, he was a son of William Sr. and Hazel (Greene) Managan. He graduated from Brewster High School, Brewster, N.Y.
Mr. Managan served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
He was a machinist for the former Gilbert & Bennett Company of Georgetown, retiring in 1984 after 38 years of service. He had a great love for music and dancing as well as being an avid woodworker. He was known for fine furniture and detailed birdhouses.
Mr. Managan was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons.
Besides his wife of 35 years, he is survived by his sons, William D. Managan of Woodbury and Keith and Dennis Managan; his sisters, Althea Nelson of Phoenix, Ariz., and Millie Rita Winters of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; his stepchildren, Kathleen Wade of Newtown, Robert Corbett of Bethel, Jay and Amelia Corbett of Virginia Beach, Va., Ronald and Jaya Corbett of New Milford and Thomas and Suzann Corbett of Brookfield; 18 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Henry Parzuchowski, 84, grandfather of area man
Henry Joseph Parzuchowski, 84, a Danbury resident since 1925, died Feb. 9 at Heritage Heights Care Center in Danbury.
Mr. Parzuchowski, of Locust Avenue, Danbury, was the husband of Helen (Symanowicz) Parzuchowski.
He was born in South Portland, Maine, Sept. 14, 1914, a son of John A. and Rose (Roslan) Parzuchowski.
He attended schools in Southington and Danbury and graduated from the Danbury Trade School on Main Street.
A hatter by trade, he worked at Mallory's and George & Harry MacLaughlin Hat Factories for many years. He owned Danbury Bakery until his retirement in 1979. After his retirement he worked part-time as a delivery person for Murray's, Harry Harris and Manny's Auto Parts.
Mr. Parzuchowski was a member of St. Joseph Church. He was a member of Padanaram Hose Company No. 3 since 1936 and was secretary for 24 years. He was financial secretary of the Polish Club National Alliance for over 40 years. During his youth he played semi-pro baseball as a catcher and was an avid duckpin bowler.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Donald H. of Danbury and Ronald J. of New Fairfield; four grandchildren, Stephen of Roxbury, Douglas of Warwick, R.I., Brian of Bethel and Deborah Bakoledis of Niantic; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by five brothers, Walter, Stanley, Edward, John and Benjamin, and a sister, Mary Zelensky.

Joseph McCann, 76, father of local resident
Joseph W. McCann, 76, of Great Plain Road, Danbury, died at Mediplex of Danbury Feb. 12. He was the husband of Antoinette A. Catanzaro McCann.
Born March 2, 1922, in Carbondale, Pa., he was the son of the late Joseph P. and Alice McNulty McCann. He received his education in Carbondale schools and was a graduate of Carbondale High School.
Mr. McCann was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a petty officer 2nd class. He served in the Pacific Theater and was awarded the Pacific Theater Campaign ribbon and the Philippine Liberation ribbon.
Following his discharge, he worked for a short time for the U.S. Treasury, and from the late 1940s until 1957 he worked as a telegrapher for the Delaware & Hudson Railroad. He moved to Danbury in 1957.
Mr. McCann had been employed as a clerk and manager for the Grand Union Company from 1957 until illness forced him to retire in 1981.
He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church, the American Legion of Carbondale, Pa., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars of Danbury.
Besides his wife of 47 years, Mr. McCann is survived by a son, Joseph W. McCann Jr. of Danbury; three daughters, Mary Alice Anderson and Ellen R. Edwards, both of Danbury, and Anne E. Morrisroe of New Milford; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The Cornell Memorial Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.

Louise Morgan, 96, had lived in New Milford
Louise Morgan, 96, of Elm Street, New Milford, died Feb. 10 at New Milford Hospital.
She was born in Stowe, Vt., and lived in Mansfield, Ohio, before moving to New Milford in 1984.
A graduate of the University of Vermont, Miss Morgan received her master's degree from Columbia University. She was a dietitian at the Mansfield General Hospital in Mansfield for over 20 years, retiring in 1969.
She is survived by two nieces, Lucille Rackliffe of Bristol and Rebecca Eshia of Plainville.
The Carlson Funeral Home of New Britain was in charge of arrangements.
