Trish Pina, 44, worked at New Milford Hospital
Trish (Martin) Pina, 44, of New Fairfield died May 21 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Gregory Pina.
Mrs. Pina was born Feb. 23, 1959, in Englewood, N.J., daughter of Owen and Patricia Martin.
She attended New Fairfield schools and Immaculate High School in Danbury, and graduated from Mt. St. Mary College in Newburgh, N.Y., with a degree in nursing.
She worked at New Milford Hospital after graduation and then worked at Danbury Hospital for 20 years as a psychiatric nurse.
She was an active volunteer in the New Fairfield community.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Pina is survived by two daughters, Brooke and Callie Pina; a sister, Stacy Duncan; a brother, Owen Martin; several nieces; a grandmother; cousins, aunts and uncles.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury was in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in her memory be made to The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, 16 Forest St., New Canaan, CT 06840.

Geraldine Rank, 81, had worked at Kimberly-Clark
Geraldine A. (Denny) Rank, 81, of First Street Ext., Danbury, died May 22 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of LeRoy “Mike” Rank.
Mrs. Rank was born July 17, 1921, in Danbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Elizabeth (Hillard) Denny.
She graduated from Danbury High School and had lived in Danbury and Newtown.
She worked for many years as a payroll clerk for Kimberly-Clark in New Milford prior to retirement. She was a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and a former member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Mrs. Rank is survived by two daughters, Marlene Caprilozzi and Dianne Ganio of Danbury; a son, Gerald Dunlap of Port Orange, Fla.; two sisters, Gloria Phelps of Danbury and Lorraine French of Louisville, Ky.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Alyce, Doris and Eva.
The Green Funeral Home of Danbury handled arrangements.

Helen Greenbaum, 79, former Kent camp owner
Helen (Weinberg) Greenbaum, 79, of New York City and Delray Beach, Fla., formerly of Kent, died April 19. She was the wife of Milton Greenbaum.
Mrs. Greenbaum was born Dec. 7, 1923, the daughter of Morris and Pauline Weinberg.
She graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in New York City in 1940. As late as the 1980s she took courses at Hunter College and at Fordham University College. She was an executive secretary at Adelphi University in Garden City, N.Y.
From 1962 to 1976, she owned and operated Camp Kenico in Kent with her husband. They developed the camp into Smiling Forest Campground in 1972.
In the late 1970s, they moved to New York City, where she was an executive secretary, most recently with Takeda Pharmaceuticals, retiring in 1987.
Mrs. Greenbaum loved the outdoors and travel. She enjoyed photography. In the 1990s she became an accomplished watercolor painter with many landscapes of Central Park in New York City and other places she loved to visit.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Greenbaum is survived by a son, Stan and his wife Paula Cassidy of New Milford and Kent; two daughters, Gail of New York City and and Eileen and her husband Larry Mintz of Chevy Chase, Md., and East Hampton, N.Y.; five grandsons, Dan and his wife Jill of Kent, Jonathan of Kent, Larry Cassidy of Kent, Mark of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, U.K., and David of New York City; three granddaughters, Alyssa Cassidy of New Milford, Robin of New York City and Melissa Landfield of Chevy Chase; a great-grandson, River of Kent; a sister, Irma Hoffman of Hollywood, Fla.; and a brother, Seymour Weinberg of Delray Beach.

Edward Phillips, 81, was a New Milford resident
Edward Phillips, 81, of 4 Millstone Hill Road, New Milford, died May 30 at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Nicolina “Nikki” (Celiberti) Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was born Sept. 7, 1921, in England, son of the late Luke and Gwendolyn (Wadrup) Phillips. He was a graduate of City College, N.Y.
He was a veteran of World War II and had worked as an electrical engineer at both Columbia University and New York University, retiring in 1984.
He became a permanent New Milford resident in 1988 after being a summer resident for 27 years.
Mr. Phillips was a founder of the Millstone Ridge Tax District and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 1672 and the Catholic Veterans of St. Francis Xavier Church. He was a volunteer at New Milford Hospital and the New Milford Senior Center.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Linda Bekman and her husband Ken of Malba, N.Y., and Jane McCabe and her husband Tom of Rockville Centre, N.Y.; a sister, Claudia Hyer of Arizona; and five grandchildren, Nicole, Lauren and Kenneth Bekman, and Katie and Tommy McCabe.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated June 28 at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford.
The Lillis Funeral Home of New Milford is in charge of arrangements.

Blanche Perry, 87, former New Milford resident
Blanche F. Perry, 87, of Danbury died June 1 at New Milford Nursing Home. She was the widow of Frank O. Perry Jr.
Mrs. Perry was born July 27, 1915, in Danbury, a daughter of the late Clifford A. and Helen L. (Blanchard) Fowler.
She was a lifelong Danbury resident. She was a 1934 graduate of Danbury High School. She worked for over 20 years as a secretary at Sears, Roebuck & Co., retiring in 1975. Mrs. Perry was a 63-year member of the national and state Grange, the Redding Grange, and the Danbury Grange.
She was a member of AARP Chapter No. 1067, the VFW Auxiliary, the Girl Scouts and the Danbury Tower Senior Citizen Activity Group. She also participated in the annual Red Cross drive. During World War II, she was an air raid warden.
She was an active member of St. James Episcopal Church, where she served on the Altar Guild, and was the assistant choirmaster and a Sunday school teacher.
Mrs. Perry is survived by a son, Malcolm and his wife Krista of Danbury; two grandsons, Mark of Michigan and Michael of New York; and two great granddaughters, Megan and Molly.

Erland Levine, 91, was a New Milford resident
Erland Levine, 91, of New Milford, formerly of Fairfield, died June 2 at his home. He was the husband of Martha (Fisher) Levine.
Mr. Levine was born in Sweden and was an area resident most of his life.
He was the retired owner of J&L Manufacturing Company.
He was a member of St. John’s Lodge, A.F. & A.M., the Royal Order of Jesters, and the Pyramid Shriners, and a member and past president of A.U.S.S. and the Scandinavian Club of Fairfield.
Besides his wife, Mr. Levine is survived by two daughters, Kay McDonagh and Susan of New Milford; two brothers, Gus of Fairfield and Knute of Rockford, Ill.; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a daughter, Lois.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at the Scandinavian Club, South Pine Creek Road, Fairfield. Burial will be private.

Barbara Davis, 72, former Washington teacher
Barbara W. Davis, 72, of 122 Blackville Road, Washington Depot, died June 2 at New Milford Hospital. She was the wife of John R. Davis.
Mrs. Davis was born April 24, 1931, in New York City, daughter of the late Edward Charles and Helen (Hein) Werle.
During her professional career she taught at the American School in Venezuela and the schools in Washington.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Davis is survived by a sister, Carol Deering of Riverside, and two nephews.

Maria de Jesus Costa, 68, mother of New Milfordite
Maria de Jesus Costa, 68, of Danbury died May 31 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of Anibal Bernardo.
Mrs. Costa was born July 12, 1934, in Portugal, daughter of the late Jose Augusto and Virginia (de Jesus) Costa.
She was employed in the housekeeping department of Danbury Hospital. Prior to working at the hospital, she was employed by American Radionics.
Mrs. Costa is survived by a son, Jose Bernardo of New Milford; two daughters, Maria Rosa Luis and Maria Elizabete Lliguicota of Danbury; a brother, Jose Augusto Costa of Portugal; and four grandchildren, Leena Bernardo, Stephanie Bernardo, Eric Lliguicota and Sandra Luis.

Allen Kellerman, 89, was father of Roxbury men
Allen G. Kellerman, 89, of Judson Avenue, Woodbury, died May 30 at his home. He was the widower of Edith Greene.
Mr. Kellerman was born Feb. 23, 1914, in New York City, son of the late Frank and Dora (Goldstein) Kellerman.
He was educated in New York schools and was a graduate of Illinois Institute of Technology.
During World War II, he worked as a civilian naval inspector for the Navy and went on to teach electronics in New York City schools, retiring in 1974.
Mr. Kellerman is survived by two sons, Stewart and Lawrence of Roxbury; a daughter, Lynn of Orlando, Fla.; a brother, David of California; a sister, Millie Goldberg of Commack, N.Y.; and a grandson.
The Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere was in charge of arrangements.

Susan Boosey, 58, former resident of Sherman
Susan Elizabeth Boosey, 58, of Mount Vernon, Ark., previously of Sherman, died May 20 at Conway Regional Medical Center, Ark. She was the wife of Richard Boosey.
Mrs. Boosey was born Oct. 22, 1944, in Little Rock, Ark., daughter of the late Peter and Alice (Hook) Hawkins.
While living in Sherman, she was a member of the Sherman Congregational Church and the Sherman Garden Club. She was a founding member of Hungerford Place.
Mrs. Boosey was a member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Conway. She was a publisher of the Mount Vernon newspaper, a master gardener and quilter.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Richard III of Lake Stevens, Wash., and James of Richmond, Va.; and three granddaughters, Peyton, Madison and Cassie of Lake Stevens.

Scott F. Farley, 22, was New Milford High graduate
Scott Frederick Farley, 22, of 1 Pleasant View Road, New Milford, died June 2 in Brookfield, the result of an auto accident.
Mr. Farley was born May 17, 1981, in Miami, Fla., son of Robert V. and Susan (Samuels) Farley of New Milford.
He moved from Portland, Ore., to New Milford in 1992 and graduated from New Milford High School as part of the Class of 2000. He served in the United States Marine Corps. and was employed as a carpenter locally.
Besides his parents, Mr. Farley is survived by a brother, Steven; a sister, Melissa; a stepsister, Maggie Murphy; paternal grandparents, Vincent and Victoria Farley; maternal grandmother, Doris Samuels; and many friends.
