Sarah A. Wilbur, 51, was a resident of Warren
Sarah A. Wilbur, 51, of 77 Carter Road, Warren, died May 31 at her home. She was the wife of Kevin J. Wilbur.
Mrs. Wilbur was born April 3, 1952, in New Milford, daughter of the late Elliott and Gladys (Washkiewicz) Kuhne. She was a graduate of New Milford High School, Class of 1970.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Wilbur is survived by a son, Michael Raymond of Warren; a stepdaughter, Tara of Goshen; a brother, Rupert Kuhne of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a sister, Mary McKim of Enfield; three nephews; her childhood designated grandmother, Sophia Bennett; and two feline pals, Dallas and Morgan.
A graveside service will take place next Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Francis Cemetery in New Milford.

Jane McCarthy, 84, mother of New Milford man
Jane L. McCarthy, 84, of Ridgefield Crossings, Ridgefield, died May 29 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of John J. McCarthy.
Mrs. McCarthy was born Feb. 10, 1919, in Cohoes, N.Y., daughter of the late Clarence T. and Leona (Baker) Wright.
She grew up in Cohoes and was a graduate of the College of St. Rose in Albany, where she was a member and award winner on the equestrian team.
She moved to Weston in 1955 and resided there until she moved to Ridgefield in 1998. She had been a member of St. Francis Church in Weston, Our Lady of Grace Church in Bantam and St. Mary Church in Ridgefield.
Mrs. McCarthy had been an active volunteer for many organizations including the American Red Cross blood drives and FISH of Westport, and had been active with local bible study groups.
She is survived by a son, Robert and his wife Carol of New Milford; a daughter, Barbara O’Connor and her husband Tim of Newtown; a sister-in-law, Ruth McCarthy of Ridgefield, with whom she resided; five grandchildren, Bronwyn and Meghan McCarthy, Kathy Elliott and her husband Don, Timothy O’Connor and his wife Kimberly, and Karen O’Connor and her fiancé Steven Kravec; three great-grandchildren, John Elliott, Brendan Elliott and Grace O’Connor; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by four brothers, Harry, Richard, Joseph and Robert Wright.

Edward Moore, 75, former Washington selectman
Edward John Moore, 75, of 2 Arrow Point, Warren, died June 7 at his home.
Mr. Moore was born March 28, 1928, in New Milford, son of the late Howard L. and Flossie A. (Richards) Moore.
He attended New Preston Grammar School and New Milford High School. He was a self-employed general contractor.
In 1957, Mr. Moore was the third selectman of Washington and a former member of the board of trustees of the New Preston Congregational Church. He was chairman and secretary of the New Preston Cemetery Association.
He is survived by three brothers, Owen of New Preston, Creighton of Wyalusing, Pa., and Loren of Willet, N.Y.; and 17 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Kenyon.

Clarence Brundage, 77, grandfather of local man
Clarence Hubert Brundage, 77, of Largo, Fla., formerly of Putnam Valley, N.Y., died June 8 at Vassar Hospital in Poughkeepsie, N.Y.
Mr. Brundage was born Jan. 19, 1926, in White Plains, N.Y., son of the late Clarence and Ann (Kaiser) Brundage.
He attended Pleasantville High School and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He had worked as a plumber for the Phillips Plumbing Company prior to his retirement.
Mr. Brundage is survived by a daughter, Patricia Taylor of Oakville; two sons, Michael Dennin of Glenham, N.Y., and Francis Dennin of Akron, N.Y.; a brother, James of Largo; nine grandchildren, Susan Borchardt and her husband Steven of Brookfield, Laurie Taylor of Baltimore, Edwin Taylor of New Milford, Scott Dennin of Akron, Brian Dennin of Bozeman, Mont., and Trevor, Kimberly, Jill and Michael Dennin of Glenham; six great-grandchildren, Shannon, Amber and Joshua Taylor of Baltimore, Sabrina and Emily Dennin of Akron, and Brooke Dennin of Glenham; one great-great-grandchild, Ayanna Chambers of Baltimore; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Vera Brundage-Martin.

Myra W. Gordon, 88, was born in New Milford
Myra W. Gordon, 88, formerly of Danbury, died June 1 in North Woods Village in Kokomo, Ind. She was the widow of Alexander Hendrickson Gordon.
Mrs. Gordon was born May 30, 1915, in New Milford, daughter of Myron Cole and Elizabeth (Shelley) Whitlock.
She was a resident of Connecticut for over 60 years, having graduated from Danbury High School in 1934.
She was a secretary and homemaker and volunteered at Danbury Hospital, at St. Joseph Hospital in Kokomo, and at Venis Hospital in Florida.
She was a member of the Theta Iota Sorority and a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kokomo.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by a daughter, Shelley and her husband William Jones of Bringhurst, Ind.; two sons, Paul of Putney, Vt., and David of New Milford; two grandchildren, Andrea Squibb and her husband Joel of Sharpsville, Ind., and Allen Jones and his wife Michelle of Cutler, Ind.; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler and Jessica Squibb, and Paige Jones. She was predeceased by a brother, Shelley Whitlock.

Anne Wolf, 73, mother of New Milford residents
Anne C. Wolf, 73, of North Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of Danbury, died May 18 at her home. She was the wife of Henry Wolf.
Mrs. Wolf was born Dec. 20, 1930, in New York, N.Y., a daughter of the late Michael and Della (Deane) McCormack.
She worked for the New York Telephone Company for 12 years until she moved to Connecticut. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 90 and the VFW Auxiliary Post No. 8463 in Florida. She was a resident of Danbury for 21 years before retiring to Florida.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Wolf is survived by three daughters, Carol Scott of Lancaster, Ohio, and Patricia Peragine and Maureen of New Milford; five grandchildren, Kathleen, Jennifer, Kelly, Colin and Riley; two sisters, Kathleen Ramm of Dumont, N.J., and Mary Skopetos of Bronx, N.Y.; a brother, John McCormack of Bronx; three step-brothers, Timmy Sullivan of Essex Falls, N.J., Neil Sullivan of Glen Rock, N.Y., and Danny Sullivan of BethPage, N.Y.; and many nieces and nephews.
Ruth Martin, 80, mother of Bridgewater woman
Ruth Marie Martin, 80, of Brookfield died June 7 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Roman “Bud” Martin.
Mrs. Martin was born Nov. 16, 1922, in Danbury, daughter of the late Joseph and Ruth (Keeler) O’Connor.
She graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1940. She was part owner, secretary and treasurer of Bud’s Service Center, Inc., of Danbury.
She was an avid golfer and belonged to the Indigo Lakes Country Club in Daytona Beach, Fla., where she resided during the winter.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Martin is survived by three daughters, Susan of Bridgewater, Carol Meyer and her husband William of Fairbury, Neb., and Debra Kovacs and her husband Alexander of Brookfield; two sons, Garry Lang and his wife Sharron Brookfield, and David of Bantam; four grandchildren, Garrett, Lisa, Amy and Tom; a sister, Jane Hambidge and her husband Donald of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.

Kenneth Squire, 65, was brother of Roxbury man
Kenneth Squire, 65, of Mount Pleasant, S.C., died May 30. He was the husband of Stella B. (Happ) Squire.
Mr. Squire was born Nov. 26, 1937, in Hartford, son of the late Horace B. and Amelia (Anderson) Squire.
He was a high school graduate and an Air Force veteran.
Besides his wife, Mr. Squire is survived by a brother, Charles of Roxbury; a sister, Sarah Quist of Arizona; and three step-sons.

John ‘Yogi’ Gueniat Sr., 75, lifelong area resident
John A. “Yogi” Gueniat Sr., 75, of 23 East Shore Road, New Preston, died June 8 at the New Milford Nursing Home. He was the widower of Chrystal (Cable) Gueniat.
Mr. Gueniat was born Dec. 1, 1927, in Torrington, son of the late Arnold and Rose Anne (Neeson) Gueniat.
He was a lifelong area resident and was a truck driver for Sega Ready Mix of New Milford for 46 years, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Gueniat is survived by two sons, John Jr. of New Preston and Michael of Century, Fla.; two daughters, Carol Christen of Coushatta, La., and Judy Sparadeo of Warwick, R.I.; two step-daughters, Anna Rivard of Thomaston and Rose Cable of New Preston; 15 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

William D’Amico, 45, worked at local businesses
William J. D’Amico, 45, of 20 Frederick St., Naugatuck, died June 9 from injuries sustained in a trucking accident. He was the husband of Angela M. (Ciarleglio) D’Amico.
Mr. D’Amico was born June 17, 1957, in Westerly, R.I., son of Marie D’Amico Painter of Virginia Beach, Va., and the late William K. D’Amico.
He was raised in Stonington and lived in Waterbury and Naugatuck. He was a member of the Portuguese Club of Stonington.
He worked at Mucherino Brothers Trucking Company in New Milford as a diesel mechanic for 12 years and at New Milford Farms Division of Nestle as maintenance supervisor for four years.
Besides his wife and mother, Mr. D’Amico is survived by a son, William of Naugatuck; two brothers, Steven of Bolton Landing and Clifford of Clinton; two sisters, Maria Hogan of Virginia Beach, Va., and Denise Gengarella of Westerly.

Doris A. Panteli, 80, worked at Kimberly-Clark
Doris A. (Anderson) (Cote) Panteli, 80, of New Milford died June 7 at New Milford Hospital.
Mrs. Panteli was born July 27, 1922, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Herman A. and Gertrude (Hedberg) Anderson Sr.
She worked for the Woodbury school system in the cafeteria. She retired in 1988 from Kimberly-Clark as an inspector after 20 years of service.
She had lived in Woodbury and Bethlehem and was a member of various clubs and organizations. She was a 60-year member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter No. 96 of Watertown.
Mrs. Panteli is survived by a son, Steven Cote of Malone, N.Y.; a daughter, Gertrude Cote of New Milford; a brother, Herman Anderson Jr. and his wife Ann of New Britain; a sister, Ruth Plumb of Prospect; a step-brother, Hugh L. Bronson and his wife Rae of Morris; and several nieces and nephews.
