Gary Hutwohl, 49, son of New Milford woman
Gary C. Hutwohl, 49, of 112 Great Plain Road, Danbury, died June 26 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Anne (Gray) Hutwohl.
Mr. Hutwohl was born March 7, 1954, in Danbury, son of Evelyn (Jarvis) Hutwohl of New Milford and the late William T. Hutwohl.
He was a graduate of Danbury High School and the proprietor of the Bargain Hut Store of Danbury. He was a member of St. James Church, the Catholic War Veterans and a past member of the Danbury Drum Corps and the Striders Drum Corps.
Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Hutwohl is survived by two daughters, Jennifer of Danbury, and Anne Felizardo and her husband Michael of Danbury; a son, Joshua of Danbury; two brothers, Richard of New Kent, Va., and Kenneth of Danbury; two sisters, Christine Gay of Vernon, Vt., and Barbara Brew of New Milford; and several nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Bricker, 80, was mother of New Milfordites
Elizabeth Ann (McHugh) Bricker, 80, of Danbury died June 24 at her home. She was the widow of Wilbur A. Bricker.
Mrs. Bricker was born July 10, 1922, in Bethel, daughter of the late John and Catherine (Boyle) McHugh.
She graduated from Danbury High School in 1939 and from St. Mary Hospital, School of Nursing, in Waterbury, in 1944.
She worked as a registered nurse in the operating rooms and emergency rooms at St. Mary Hospital, St. Joseph Hospital, Stamford, and Danbury Hospital.
Mrs. Bricker is survived by twin sons, Gary of Oxford and Peter of New Milford; five daughters, Daria of New Milford, Claire Ceballos and Shawn Hansen of Fort Meyers, Fla., Judith Lewis of Wilmington, N.C., and Ann Tobin of Hopewell Junction, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; a great-grandchild, Gianna Marie; two sisters, Barbara Mietelski and Marguerite Culhane; and several nieces and nephews.

Carl R. Doty Sr., 72, was father of New Milford man
Carl R. Doty Sr., 72, of Radnor Lane, Oakville, died June 25 at his home. He was the husband of Penelope (Tuttle) Doty.
Mr. Doty was born Dec. 16, 1930, in Waterbury, son of the late John J. and Edith (Platt) Doty.
He was raised in Thomaston. He was senior stationary engineer at Southbury Training School until his retirement in 1985.
Besides his wife, Mr. Doty is survived by three sons, Carl Jr. of Wolcott, John of New Milford and Robert of Watertown; two daughters, Tammy Pillis of Bethlehem and Darlene of Watertown; a sister, Charlotte Waldron of Meriden; and 15 grandchildren.

Eleanor Coyle, 71, stepdaughter of resident
Eleanor L. (Visel) Coyle, 71, of Falmouth, Mass., died June 23 at her home.
Mrs. Coyle was born in Danbury. She was a graduate of the University of Connecticut School of Nursing in the early 1950s.
She was employed at the Wooster School in Danbury, and later as an obstetrical nurse at Danbury Hospital and director of health at Suffield Academy in Suffield. She retired in 1996 and moved to Falmouth.
Mrs. Coyle is survived by a son, Doug and his wife Carroll of Cumberland, Maine; a daughter, Jill of Ft. Washington, Pa.; a sister, Marion Gillotti of Southington; three grandchildren, Jaime, Joshua and Timothy; and her stepmother, Elizabeth Visel of Kent.

Christopher Wood, 23, had lived in New Milford
Christopher Paul Wood, 23, of New Milford, formerly of Norwalk, died June 23 at his home.
Mr. Wood was born April 2, 1980, in Norwalk, a son of Lawrence C. and Ellen B. Wood of New Milford.
He had been a resident of New Milford since 1985 and attended New Milford schools.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Norma Nichols of Norwalk; a brother, Kevin of New Milford; two sisters, Melissa and Shannon of New Milford; an aunt and three uncles.
The Colonial Funeral Home of New Milford was in charge of arrangements.

Theodore Cheney, 66, was a New Preston native
Theodore K. Cheney, 66, of 235 Kent Road, Warren, died June 29 at his home. He was the widower of Ann Elizabeth (Butler) Cheney.
Mr. Cheney was born Jan. 15, 1936, in New Preston, son of the late Kenneth and Edith (Smalley) Cheney.
He was the owner and operator of Ted�s Tractor Service in Warren. He was a former member of the Warren Volunteer Fire Department and a longtime member of the Warren Congregational Church.
Mr. Cheney is survived by four daughters, Patti Delmonte of Bantam, Laurie Potter of Warren, Terri of Wingdale, N.Y., and Mary Ann of Queens, N.Y.; four brothers, Tom of Warren, and Roy, Frederick and Lewis of New Preston; three sisters, Ester Beaman of Dover Plains, N.Y., Beezie Bushman of Fla., and Caroline Green of New Milford; four grandchildren, Jason and Amy Potter, Casey Delmonte and Dwight Pelkey; and a great grandchild, Haleigh Marie Grinder. He was predeceased by a son, Patrick.
Funeral services took place yesterday (Thursday) at the Warren Congregational Church. Burial will take place in the Warren Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

Joseph Howell Jr., 73 was father of local man
Joseph E. Howell Jr., 73, of Danbury died June 27 in Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Mary (Parrella) Howell.
Mr. Howell was born Oct. 3, 1929, in Dallas, Texas, a son of the late Joseph E. and Nellie (Horsman) Howell Sr.
He attended East Texas State University, where he studied accounting. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was employed as an assistant manager in several A&P Supermarkets for 40 years before retiring in 1991.
He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge No. 1373. He enjoyed gardening.
Besides his wife, Mr. Howell is survived by a son, Joseph and his wife Mary Jane of New Milford; a brother, Bobby of Shreveport, La.; three sisters, Martha Long of Stratford, and Betty Frederickson and Esta Mae Hardin of Texas; a granddaughter, Victoria Lake; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three sisters, Evelyn DeFurr, Selma Like and Nellie Belle Clammage.

May J. Covill, 70, was a resident of Warren
May (Joyce) Covill, 70, of Sunset Lake Road, Warren, died June 27 at Hartford Hospital. She was the wife of Harold Covill.
Mrs. Covill was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Brookfield, daughter of the late Ralph N. and Alice (Alaby) Joyce.
She was a graduate of Danbury High School and went on to study piano and the organ.
She was employed as a secretary at Doran Brothers Specialty Machine in Danbury. In addition, she taught piano for 30 years.
She was a past member of Newbury Congregational Church in Brookfield and was the church organist for 24 years. She was currently a member of Warren Congregational Church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Covill is survived by two daughters, Gale Bulissa and her husband David of Plainfield, Mass., and Patricia Harris and her husband Dwight of Burlington; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; a step-great-grandchild; a brother, Ralph Joyce of Brookfield; two sisters, Lorna Barnum of Live Oak, Fla., and Mabel Pope of Brookfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Francis Tobin, 92, saw patients at local clinic
Frances (Karsch) Tobin, 92, formerly of Southbury, died June 20 in Exeter, N.H. She was the widow of Charles Tobin and the writer Jerome Ellison.
Mrs. Tobin was born in New York City, daughter of John Henry and Amelia Frances (Hattimer) Karsch.
She was a graduate of Manhattan�s Wadleigh High School and Sarah Lawrence College. As a psychiatric social worker, she was assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Albert Einstein College of Medicine from 1959 to 1968.
She was a 1950 graduate of Columbia University Graduate School of Social Work. She treated patients at New Rochelle Guidance Center and New Milford Hospital Mental Health Clinic for many years.
Mrs. Tobin is survived by a daughter, Judith Ogden of Concord, Mass.; a grandson; and a great-granddaughter.
Jennie Aleksandrowicz, 73, was mother of locals
Jennie V. Aleksandrowicz, 73, of 2 Silver Spring Park Road, Ridgefield, died June 26 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of John M. Aleksandrowicz Sr.
Mrs. Aleksandrowicz was born Jan. 22, 1930, in Stamford, a daughter of the late Dominick and Mary (Bregiallo) Pope.
She attended Stamford schools and graduated from Stamford High School. She was a resident of Ridgefield for the past 41 years. She was a retired clerk at Stop & Shop of Ridgefield, a former scout den mother and a member of St. Mary�s Church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Aleksandrowicz is survived by three sons, John Jr. of Ridgefield, Michael and his wife Donna, and Robert and his wife Christine of New Milford; a brother, Frederick Pope of Orange; a sister, Frances Moniz of Stamford; six grandchildren, Michael Jr., Joseph, Nicole, Miranda, David and Thomas; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas Dolan, 60, had worked at Rogg business
Thomas M. Dolan, 60, of Craigmoor Terrace, Danbury, died June 29 at Danbury Hospital. He was the widower of Lyn (Prechtl) Dolan.
Mr. Dolan was born June 3, 1943, in Danbury, son of the late Harry J. and Mary (Sullivan) Dolan.
He was a graduate of Fairfield Prep and had attended Georgia Technical University. He worked for the Rogg Manufacturing Co. in New Milford for many years and most recently for the Kendro Company in Newtown. He was an avid NASCAR fan.
Mr. Dolan is survived by a brother, Richard of Danbury; a stepson, Christopher Hewett of Texas; and two nephews. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by a brother, H. James.
