John Paul Revere, 84, was a priest and counselor
John Paul Revere of Washington died Jan. 26, 2006, at his home. He was the husband of Madeline (Lynam) Revere.
Mr. Revere was born Sept. 2, 1921, in Fort Lee, N.J., son of the late John Paul and Elizabeth (McCurry) Revere.
He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 14th Air Force Division in China. He was a graduate of Seton Hall University and held graduate degrees from Columbia University and the Catholic University of America.
After being ordained a Catholic priest, he taught at Seton Hall University and served as chaplain in the Veterans Administration. In 1970, he resigned from the priesthood and became engaged in psychological counseling.
Besides his wife, Mr. Revere is survived by several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Washington. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family in Madonna Cemetery, Fort Lee.

Karen Rogers, 49, sister of New Milford woman
Karen M. Rogers, 49, of Danbury died Jan. 27, 2006, at Danbury Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was the wife of Lonnie C. Rogers.
Mrs. Rogers was born Nov. 27, 1956, in Norwalk, daughter of Philip and Beverly (Finneran) Giglio of Danbury.
She moved to Danbury in 1958, attended local schools and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1974. She was employed by the Watson Laboratories of Brewster, N.Y., where she was a labeling manager.
She served as a past president and treasurer of the Pop Warner Football League and was a former Girl Scout leader with Troop No. 526. She was active with the annual March of Dimes campaign and the Walk for Life.
She enjoyed music and was a member of various local choirs, including the Danbury Concert Choir and St. Elizabeth Seton Church.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Rogers is survived by a son, Jason of Danbury; a daughter, Jennifer Seng and her husband Daniel of Danbury; two brothers, Paul Giglio and his wife Noemia of Danbury, and Philip McCluskey and his wife Jennifer of Bethel; three sisters, Kathleen King and her husband Michael of New Milford, Elizabeth Giglio of Danbury, and Patricia Green and her husband Andrew of Danbury; three grandchildren, Seth and Aliyah Rogers, and Mya Seng; and an aunt, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Nancy Young, 81, mother of New Milford woman
Nancy M. Young, 81, of Southbury died Jan. 30, 2006, at Lutheran Home in Southbury.
Mrs. Young was born Nov. 26, 1924, in Sanford, Maine, daughter of the late Leslie and Mary (Withycomb) MacKay.
She graduated from Nasson College in Springvale, Maine, and was a home economics and special education teacher at Swift Jr. High School in Oakville, Memorial School in Middlebury, Blue Mountain Union School in Wells River, Vt., and Black Rock School in Thomaston.
She lived in Watertown and Goshen before moving to Southbury. Her hobbies included gardening, making her own clothes and cooking.
Mrs. Young is survived by two sons, Thomas of Oxford and James of Terryville; two daughters, Mary of Medford, Mass., and Carol of New Milford; a sister, Elizabeth Johnson of Sanford; and two grandchildren. She was predeceased by her former husband, Phillip.
A memorial service will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 2 p.m. at Walker Hall, Taft School, 50 DeForest St., Watertown.

Joseph Carr, 79, was an employee at Mark Ford
Joseph F. Carr, 79, of Town House Road, Hamden, died Jan. 28, 2006. He was the longtime companion of Pamela Hines.
Mr. Carr was born June 19, 1938, in New Haven, son of the late Joseph R. Sr. and Jean (McPhee) Carr.
He was a parts manager with the Mark Ford Mercury in New Milford and Westfair Ford in Westport for over 50 years. A longtime member of the Orange Hill Country Club, he was an avid golfer.
Mr. Carr is survived by a son, Michael Hines of Royce City, Texas; a daughter, Theresa Hines of West Haven; five grandchildren, Nicole, Pamela, Joseph, Bailey and Casey Hines; and a niece and nephew. He was predeceased by a sister, Norene Carr Randall.

Stephen Arcano Sr., 93, was father of local man
Stephen Arcano Sr., 93, a Norwalk resident for 50 years, formerly of Stamford, died Jan. 31, 2006, at Norwalk Hospital. He was the husband of Anna C. (Festo) Arcano.
Mr. Arcano was born April 17, 1913, in Italy. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Arcano.
He was the owner and operator of Steve’s Shoe Repair in New Canaan for 25 years until his retirement.
Besides his wife, Mr. Arcano is survived by a son, Stephen Jr. of New Milford; a daughter, Mary Lee of West Redding; six grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother, Peter.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated today (Friday) at 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 37 Schuyler Ave., Stamford. Interment will follow in St. John Cemetery in Darien.

Conrad Kramer, 75, owned Kramer’s Men’s and Boys’
Conrad Kramer, 75, a resident of Trumbull for the past 19 years, died Jan. 27, 2006, at The Jewish Home for the Elderly in Fairfield. He was the husband of Marian (Risik) Kramer.
Mr. Kramer was born in New Milford, son of the late Alex and Ida (Greenblatt) Kramer. He resided in Mahopac, N.Y., for over 20 years before returning to Connecticut.
A graduate of the University of Bridgeport, he was the proprietor of Kramer’s Men’s and Boys’ in New Milford.
Mr. Kramer was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, Loyalty Lodge, B’nai Brith, and was a past Noble Grand of Good Shepherd Lodge, I.O.O.F. in New Milford.
He was an avid gardener and sports fan, and coached several youth sports teams. He worked tirelessly and was honored for his efforts for Israel Bonds. More recently, he was a partner with his son, Jack, at Jackster, Inc., in Stratford.
Besides his wife, Mr. Kramer is survived by three sons, Jack and his wife Randy of Woodbridge, Paul and his wife Diane McGarvey of Brooklyn, N.Y., and Donald and his wife Jody of Trumbull; five grandchildren, David, Jessie, Carly, Julie and Emily; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Rita Small.

Eva Seinfeld, 80, longtime New Milford resident
Eva Seinfeld, 80, of New Milford died Jan. 19, 2006, at the Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Fla., after a long illness. She was the wife of Ernest Seinfeld.
Mrs. Seinfeld was born in 1925 in Vienna, Austria, daughter of David and Marie Dressler.
She came to the United States in 1947 with her husband and moved to New Milford in 1966.
Her family and many friends miss and mourn her deeply.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Seinfeld is survived by a daughter, Kate and her husband Eric Schweitzer; two grandchildren, Maris and Arthur; a brother, Hans Dressler and his wife Bernice; a niece and a nephew; and cousins.

Brian Lee Weiss, 45, was local woman’s brother
Brian Lee Weiss, 45, of Huckleberry Hill Road, Brookfield, died Jan. 24, 2006, at his home.
Mr. Weiss was born May 10, 1960, in Norwalk, son of Florence (Willmott) Usher and the late Leonard Rudy Weiss.
He was an avid sports fan and especially liked New York teams. He enjoyed fishing and motorcycles, and he loved animals. Most importantly, he was devoted to his family.
Besides his mother of Danbury, Mr. Weiss is survived by two children, Kenneth and Jeanelle of Brookfield; the mother of his children, Leah Vallee of Brookfield; a brother, Gary of Oregon; three sisters, Wendy Mischle of New Milford, Lisa of Waterbury and Debbie Duncan of New York; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara G. Szwejkowski, 79, mother of local man
Barbara (Gardener) Szwejkowski, 79, of Marble Dale, formerly of Bridgeport, died Jan. 27, 2006, at Candlewood Valley Health & Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the widow of John Szwejkowski.
Mrs. Szwejkowski was born May 16, 1926, in Yardley, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Hazel (Johnson) Gardener.
She was employed by People’s Bank from which she retired in 1991. She lived most of her life in Bridgeport, moving to Marble Dale three years ago. She was an avid reader.
Mrs. Szwejkowski is survived by two sons, Thomas and his wife Kathy of Marble Dale, and Michael and his wife Nancy of Bridgeport; a sister, Tish Weaver of Brooksville, Fla.; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers.

Jerald Robinson, 68, father of South Kent woman
Jerald Robinson, 68, of Georgetown died Jan. 27, 2006, at his home. He was the widower of Betty (Lawson) Robinson.
Mr. Robinson was born Sept. 18, 1937, in Bridgeport, a son of the late Earl B. and Johanna V. (VanLangen) Robinson.
Prior to his retirement in 1993, he had been employed for over 25 years at Connecticut Light and Power as a control operator. He was also a member of the Georgetown Volunteer Fire Company for many years.
Mr. Robinson is survived by a son, Richard of Huntersville, N.C.; two daughters, Rose Stanton of Georgetown and Jane Sadowski of South Kent; seven grandchildren; and a nephew, Donald Smith of Shelton.

Helen O. Rowe, 98, was a New Milford resident
Helen (Olfshefsky) Rowe, 98, of New Milford, formerly of East Hartford, died Jan. 30, 2006. She was the widow of Edward J. Rowe.
Mrs. Rowe is survived by two daughters, Nancy Burnell of New Fairfield and Cynthia Kishinchand of Philadelphia,; four grandchildren, Brian, James and Patrick Burnell, and Susan Kishinchand; and four great-grandchildren, Megan, Kathleen, Cullen and MaryKate Burnell. She was predeceased by a grandson.
