Frank A. Ferrito, 55, had owned local company
Frank A. Ferrito, 55, of 35 Lake Ave., Danbury, died April 17 at his residence as a result of injuries sustained from his motorcycle accident just over three years ago.
He was the husband of Patricia "Tish" (Nassif) Ferrito.
Mr. Ferrito was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Nov. 27, 1943, a son of the late Albert and Mary Ann (Matucha) Ferrito. He moved to this area from New York 40 years ago and attended local schools. A veteran of the US Navy, Mr. Ferrito served during the Bay of Pigs.
He was first employed by Holcomb Fuel of Newtown and later by Adolph Krueger Plumbing and Heating Company of Bethel. At the time of his accident, he owned and operated his own plumbing and heating company, AFI of New Milford.
He was a member of the Danbury Chapter of Barbershop Quartet and the Emmaus community of the Greater Danbury area and also gave his time to the Prison Ministry at the Danbury Federal Correctional Institute.
A member of St. Anthony's Maronite Church of Danbury, he was a dedicated member of the Liturgical Committee and church choir. His recreational activities included being a longtime member of the Bridgeport Chapter of the Harley Owners Group, "HOG."
In addition to his wife of 32 years, he is survived by two daughters, Denise Passarelli and Amy Ferrito, both of Danbury; a brother, Joseph Ferrito of Long Island, N.Y.; two sisters, Sophie Amorando and Connie Pudelka, both of New Fairfield; and a newly born grandson, Frankie Passarelli.
Mr. Ferrito will also be remembered by many friends, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Margarethe MacNeil-White, 39, sister of residents
Margarethe Lisa MacNeil-White, 39, of South Street, Morris, died Monday, April 19 at her home. She was the wife of Dalton White.
Mrs. MacNeil-White was born Feb. 19, 1960, in Torrington, daughter of Lucy Adell (McAvoy) MacNeil and the late Laurence G. MacNeil.
She attended Cornwall Consolidated School and graduated from Housatonic Valley High School and Warren-Wilson College in Ashville, N.C. She received her Master Gardener certificate from the Cary Arboretum in Millbrook, N.Y.
Working throughout Litchfield County as a horticulturist, she specialized in alpine and perennial gardens. An avid traveler and naturalist, she loved all living things, whether they had two legs, four legs, wings or roots.
In addition to her mother and husband, Mrs. MacNeil-White is survived by two brothers, Laurence L. MacNeil of Warren and Roderick J. MacNeil of Cornwall; four sisters, Shelly E. Strid of Gaylordsville, Lauren M. Walsh of Sharon, Kathleen A. MacNeil of Chicago and Amanda Eller-MacNeil of Andover.
Her funeral service and burial will be private. The family will receive friends at the Rowe Funeral Home, 283 Torrington Road, Litchfield, tonight (Friday)from 6 to 8 p.m.

Mildred Y. Magee, 71, had lived in Bridgewater
Mildred Yarbrough Magee, 71, of 37 Rollingwood Drive, Brookfield, died April 15 at Fairfield Manor Health Care Center in Norwalk. She was the widow of Richard L. Magee.
Mrs. Magee was born Jan. 5, 1928, in Clarkesville, Tenn., daughter of the late Arthur L. and Ivina (Wickham) Yarbrough. She lived in Bridgewater from 1975 to 1980 and then moved to Brookfield.
She leaves a daughter, Cheryl G. Armstrong of New Milford; and two grandsons. She was predeceased by a son, Richard L. Magee Jr.

Josephine Delfini, 87, mother of Sherman woman
Josephine (Coviello) Delfini, 87, of Orchard Hill Drive, Enfield, died April 20 at St. Francis Hospital and Medical Center in Hartford. She was the widow of Manlio R. Delfini, who died in 1982.
She was born in New York, N.Y., the daughter of the late Nicole and Lucia (Salvatore) Coviello. She was an Enfield resident for 37 years.
Mrs. Delfini is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and George Adams of Sherman; a son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Kathleen Delfini of Simsbury; four sisters, Gilda Romano, Albina Gori, Connie Scala and Gloria D'Andrea, all of New York; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Coviello.
A Memorial Mass will be held tomorrow (Saturday) at 10 a.m. in St. Patrick's Church, 64 Pearl St., Enfield.

Elizabeth MacInnis, 93, mother of New Milford man
Elizabeth MacInnis, 93, of Norwalk, wife of the late John MacInnis, died April 16 at Norwalk Hospital.
Born in Crown Point, N.Y., May 6, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Herman and Erminia Gilleo Peasley and had been a Norwalk resident for most of her life. Until her retirement, Mrs. MacInnis was employed at the Hat Corp. of America.
Mrs. MacInnis is survived by a son, Donald MacInnis of New Milford; a daughter, Gloria Breese of Norwalk; two sisters, Dorothy Gonyeau of Largo, Fla., and Frances Choquette of Norwalk; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn MacInnis.

Kent Cable, 74, brother of New Preston man
Kent W. Cable, 74, of Hodgenville, formerly of Morris, died April 27 at Hardin Memorial Hospital in Elizabethtown, Ky. He was the husband of Florence A. Cable.
Mr. Cable was a longtime Morris resident and was a factory worker for the Torrington Company in Torrington before he retired. He was a Hodgenville resident for the past 10 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Doris Dugay of Hodgenville; a brother, Perry Cable of New Preston; two sisters, Crystal Gueniate of Massachusetts and Evelyn Sasser of Alabama; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial Mass will take place tonight (Friday) at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Hodgenville.

Norma McCarthy Yorks, 52, mother of local man
Norma Lorraine McCarthy Yorks, 52, of Hopewell, Va., died April 20 at John Randolph Medical Center in Virginia.
She was born in Danbury, daughter of the late Ambrose and Katherine Stock McCarthy.
Mrs. Yorks is survived by two sons, Frank Mills of New Milford and Sean McCarthy of Waterbury; two daughters, Deborah DeSouza of Hopewell and Katherine Surovy of Waterbury; eight grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen David of Danbury and Carol Woodruff of Kalona, Iowa; three brothers, James McCarthy and John McCarthy, both of Danbury, and Robert McCarthy of Brookfield; and several nieces and nephews.
Doris Zaffino, 68, mother of local resident
Doris Waterbury Zaffino, 68, died April 20 at her home in West Redding. She was the husband of 43 years of E. Richard Zaffino.
Mrs. Zaffino was born June 28, 1930, in Stamford, daughter of Doris (Friend) and Jack Waterbury. She lived in Stamford until 1967, when she moved to West Redding. She graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in Stamford, attended Norwalk Community College and graduated with a bachelor's degree in social work from Western Connecticut State University.
She was active in local volunteer organizations including Quilts for the Homeless, Literacy Volunteers, and Meals on Wheels.
Mrs. Zaffino was past president of the Ridgefield Chapter of AARP; former treasurer and board member of the Connecticut Poetry Society, a member of the World United Church, and an active member of the Ridgefield Early Birds, where her love and influence continue to be an inspiration.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her five children, Richard of Kirkland, Wash., Dory Corrigan of Brookfield, Paula Keeler of Danbury, Amy Gaal of Bridgewater and Matt of Portland, Ore.; four grandchildren, Rachel Keeler and Christy, Dave and Liz Corrigan; three brothers, Charles, Robert and Philip Waterbury of Stamford; three sisters, Barbara Kenoyer of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., Sharon Lowden and Sally Ann Broadhurst of Stamford; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Elizabeth Mannion, 92, was born in New Milford
Elizabeth Mannion, 92, of 30 Park Lane East, New Milford, died April 20 at Candlewood Valley Health Center in New Milford.
Miss Mannion was born Nov. 1, 1906, in New Milford, daughter of the late Lawrence and Mary (Kane) Mannion.
She spent her early life in New Milford and later moved to Waterbury. She was a Hamden resident before returning to New Milford in 1998.
Arrangements are being handled by Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford.
Reuben W. Swanson, 96, New Milford native
Reuben W. Swanson, 96, of 6 Schaghticoke Trail, New Milford, husband of Helen (Skrzypkowska) Swanson, died April 23 at New Milford Hospital.
Mr. Swanson was born in New Milford Nov. 27, 1903, a son of the late Emil and Mae (Carlson) Swanson.
He was employed at the former Robertson Bleachery & Dye Works in New Milford from 1920 to 1962.
He is survived by his wife and two nieces.

William Smith Jr., 65, brother of local residents
William H. Smith Jr., 65, of 46 Balmforth Avenue, Danbury, died April 20 at Danbury Hospital, following a lengthy illness.
A Danbury native, Mr. Smith was born April 28, 1933, a son of the late William Henry and Louise Butler Smith. He had been a veteran of service with the United States Army during the Korean War.
Mr. Smith began a career as an upholsterer with the former Castro Convertible furniture company in Danbury. Following his return to Danbury after the war, he worked at the Filosa Convalescent Center. After the closing of the Castro plant, he later worked at St. Joseph's Heritage House in Danbury prior to his retirement in 1994.
Mr. Smith is survived by his sister, Betty L. Hafer of New Milford; his brother, Richard W. Butler of Gaylordsville; two nieces; a nephew; and his best friend, companion and care-giver, Rocco F. Tomanio, with whom he had made his home.

Andrew J. Dodd, 84, was a New Milford resident
Andrew Joseph Dodd, 84, of New Milford died on April 23 at New Milford Hospital.
Born in Paterson, N.J., he was a Wayne, N.J., resident until moving to New Milford. He attended Rutgers University.
Mr. Dodd was a supervisor in the Experimental Test Division at Wright Aeronautical in Wood Ridge, N.J., from 1936 to 1967. After that, he was the plant manager for CBS Soundcraft in Danbury until 1980. After his retirement, he and his wife traveled all over the United States in their motor home.
Mr. Dodd was a former Boy Scout leader at Preakness Reformed Church and a volunteer fireman with Company No. 4 in Wayne.
Mr. Dodd is survived by his wife, Eileen A. (Frutchey) Dodd; his daughter, Carolee Jones of Montclair, N.J.; three grandchildren, Jacquelynn Geene of Toms River, N.J., Robert Barton of Newport, R.I., and Christopher Barton of Morristown, N.J.; and three great-grandchildren, Nicole, Michael and Timothy. Mr. Dodd was also the father of the late Robert Dodd, who predeceased him in 1967.

There will be an open house at the Dodds' residence, 57 Perry Drive, New Milford, Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. for friends and relatives.
