Genevieve Mohr, 94, was raised in New Milford
Genevieve Barbara (Siskey) Mohr, 94, of 33 Lincoln Avenue in Danbury, formerly of Candlewood Isle in New Fairfield, died Feb. 9 at Pope John Paul Center for Health.
Mrs. Mohr was born Dec. 19, 1905, a daughter of the late Francisek and Marianna Siskey. She was raised in New Milford and was a parishioner of the Holy Cross Polish National Catholic Church. She was an avid gardener.
Mrs. Mohr is survived by a son, Edward J. Mohr of Danbury; three daughters, Barbara Charlotte Dascano of Hancock, N.Y., Carolyn J. Dohan of New Fairfield and Elizabeth Ann Ustie of Danbury; two sisters, Marjorie Siskey and Irene Kibbe, both of Saxtons River, Vt.; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Mildred L. Platt, 82, mother of Roxbury resident
Mildred L. (Laughlin) Platt, 82, of 93 Hillside Road in Southbury, died Feb. 12 at Lutheran Home. She was the wife of Sidney S. Platt III.
Mrs. Platt was born Nov. 8, 1917 in Hartford, daughter of the late Thomas H. and Bernice L. (Jacques) Laughlin. She was a lifelong Southbury resident. She worked as a cottage aide for more than 10 years at Southbury Training School before her retirement.
Besides her husband of 64 years, Mrs. Platt is survived by two sons, Sidney S. Platt of East Granby and Dale A. Platt of Plantsville; a daughter, Eileen M. Campbell of Roxbury; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren; a step-granddaughter; and a step-great-grandson.

Edward M. Donnelly, 71, formerly of Gaylordsville
Edward M. Donnelly, 71, died Feb. 10 at his home in South Prairie, Wash.
Mr. Donnelly was a longtime Gaylordsville resident who attended the Gaylord School and New Milford High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, in which he served with Admiral Byrd on his expedition to Antarctica. He was a retired mechanic for the Seattle Fire Department.
Mr. Donnelly is survived by a sister, Helen Tuz of Gaylordsville; two sons; a daughter; and four grandchildren of Seattle, Wash.
William J. Darling Jr., 38, had lived in New Milford
William J. Darling Jr., 38, of 1 Maloney Lane in New Milford, died Feb. 13 at New Milford Hospital after a short illness. He was the husband of Michelle (Walsh) Darling.
Mr. Darling was born Nov. 21, 1961 in Ithaca, N.Y., a son of Marie (Feathers) Darling of New Milford and the late William J Darling. He graduated from Western Connecticut State University in Danbury in 1986. He was a psychiatric case manager-counselor in the Responsive Service Program at Danbury Hospital.
Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Darling is survived by two sons, Evan Mitchell Darling and Shawn Patrick Darling, both of New Milford; three sisters, Sheryl Moynihan of New Milford and Beverly Whitmore and Donna Matson, both of Kent; and three nieces and three nephews.

Dennis A. Palmer, 52, brother of Washington man
Dennis Allen Palmer, 52, of Holly Grove Road in Thomasville, N.C., died Feb. 11. He was the husband of Kaye Brown.
Mr. Palmer was born Oct. 8, 1947 in Winsted, a son of Emory and Marjorie (Ringwood) Palmer.
He was a resident of Thomasville since 1981, at which time he retired from the U.S. Navy after 18 years of service.
He was the owner of Palmer's Heating & Air Conditioning and a member and past Governor of Lexington Moose Lodge No. 317.
Besides his wife, Mr. Palmer is survived by a daughter, Tammy Hegarty of San Francisco, Calif.; four sons, Dennis Palmer II, Douglas Hunt Jr. and Frankie Palmer, all of Thomasville, and Scott Hunt of Kernersville, N.C.; his mother, Marjorie Palmer of Southbury; four sisters, Claudia Short of Petersburg, Va., Patty Demartino and Robin Deming, both of Southbury, and Dawn Palmer of White Plains, N.Y.; five brothers, Emory "Pee Wee" Palmer Jr. of Washington, Todd Palmer of New Fairfield, and Timmy, Jody and Terry Palmer, all of Southbury; and a grandson, Derek Hunt.

Theresa Kundrath, 88, mother of area resident
Theresa Barbara Kundrath, 88, died Feb. 8 at Southport Manor Convalescent Home, Southport, following a protracted battle with Alzheimer's.
Mrs. Kundrath was the widow of Michael Kundrath, a lifelong Bridgeport/Fairfield resident.
She was born and educated in New York City, where she worked as a fashion designer. After her marriage in 1942, she moved to Bridgeport where she became a licensed insurance agent and a principal with Stephen Kundrath & Company for more than 30 years.
In 1950, the family moved to Fairfield. She was an extraordinary homemaker. She was also active with the local PTA, was a Cub Scout den mother and served as a political volunteer for the Democratic town party.
Mrs. Kundrath is survived by a son, Michael of Brookfield, Vermont; a daughter, Diana K. Broderick of New Milford; a cousin, Ilse Brunn of Long Island, N.Y.; a niece, Kathleen Cunningham; and a nephew, John Eller.
There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Leo J. Rosati, 80, of Kent, was local builder
Leo J. Rosati, 80, of 171 Cornwall Road in Kent, died Feb. 12 at his home after a long illness. He was the husband of Alice (Chase) Rosati.
Mr. Rosati was born Oct. 3, 1919 in New Milford, a son of the late Leo and Pearl (Dwi) Rosati. He graduated from New Milford High School and moved from New Milford to Kent in 1943.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Navy.
For many years, he owned and operated Rosati Builders, a company which built homes in the greater New Milford/Kent area.
He was a former member of the Kent Board of Finance and a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Kent.
Besides his wife, Mr. Rosati is survived by a daughter, Leigh R. Peet of Kent; a brother, Vincent Rosati of New Milford; a sister, Laura Sega of New Milford; two grandchildren, Tanya and Melanie Peet; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Frances R. Dodd.

Richard J. Flaig, 77, resided in Bridgewater
Richard J. Flaig, 77, of 186 Keeler Road in Bridgewater, died Feb. 9 at his home. He was the husband of the late Isabella (Iglesias) Flaig.
Mr. Flaig was born July 29, 1922 in New York City, a son of the late Carl and Theodora (Von Lintig) Flaig.
He was a veteran of World War II in the U.S. Army and had attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He was employed as a photo engraver at Intaglio Services of New York City before his retirement.
Mr. Flaig had moved to Bridgewater in 1979. He was a veteran member of the Albertson Volunteer Fire Department in Albertson, N.Y., and was a member of the Bridgewater Congregational Church.
He is survived by a son, Ronald R. Flaig of Rotonda West, Fla.; a daughter, Christine Hora of Bridgewater; and four grandchildren.

Kathleen Matta, 83, had long career in nursing
Kathleen Christine Matta, 83, formerly of Simeon Road in Bethel, died Feb. 12 at Danbury Hospital. She was the widow of John Fulton Matta Sr.
Mrs. Matta was born April 19, 1916 in Antigonish, Nova Scotia, Canada, a daughter of the late William and Christine (McDonnell) MacDonnell.
She was raised and educated in Nova Scotia. Upon receiving her degree as a registered nurse, she immigrated to Boston. It was there she met and married John Matta. They moved to Connecticut in 1953.
During her nursing career, she worked at Norwood Hospital in Norwood, Mass., the Hospital of St. Raphael in New Haven, and Griffin Hospital in Derby.
She was a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary in Bethel.
Mrs. Matta is survived by three sons, John F. Matta Jr., Robert W. Matta and Michael J. Matta, all of Danbury; four daughters, Christine L. Matta of New Milford, Diane Matta-Romano of Quakertown, Pa., Margaret M. Schurer of Winsted and Patricia Matta-Wrobel of Danbury; and 10 grandchildren.

Hazel C. Allen, 87, of Roxbury, lived in Bridgewater
Hazel C. Allen, 87, of Keeler Road, Bridgewater, died Feb. 14 at New Milford Hospital. She was the widow of Howard E. Allen.
Mrs. Allen was born Feb. 1, 1913, in Roxbury and attended Roxbury schools. She was a member of the Bridgewater Historical Society and the Bridgewater Congregational Church.
Mrs. Allen is survived by two sons, Kenneth H. Allen and Richard R. Allen, both of Bridgewater; a brother, Raymond Cummings of New Milford; a grandson; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; and a great-great-granddaughter. She was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Volinski and Lillian Sekel.

Edward Wittmann, 66, had lived in New Milford
Edward Wittmann, 66, of 12 Obtuse Rocks Road, Brookfield, died Feb. 16 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Susan (Roth) Wittmann.
Mr. Wittmann was born in Czerwenka, Yugoslavia, Jan. 24, 1934, a son of Helen (Lamneck) Wittmann of Ridgedale, N.Y., and the late Philip Wittmann.
He came to the United States in 1950 and served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1957. Before his illness, he had worked for the Risdon Corp. in Danbury as a product technician from 1970 to 1999. As a member of a group of four, he held a patent on a lipstick dispenser for shape pomades.
Mr. Wittman lived in New Milford from 1973 until his move to Brookfield in 1987. He was a member of the German-American Club of New Milford and a parishioner of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Milford.
Besides his wife and mother, Mr. Wittman is survived by a son, John Wittmann and his wife, Pamela, of Winston-Salem, N.C.; a daughter, Marian S. Merritt and her husband, Kyle, of Brookfield; a brother, Henry Wittmann and his wife, Elizabeth, of Glendale, N.Y.; two grandchildren, Matthew Merritt and Stephanie Merritt; and three nephews and a niece.
