John Ginty, 75, father of New Milford man
John E. Ginty, 75, formerly of 4 Foster St., Danbury, died Feb. 20 at the Glen Hill Convalescent Home in Danbury. He was the husband of Rose (Tomaino) Ginty.
Mr. Ginty was born in Danbury Aug. 23, 1924, son of the late Thomas F. and Delia (Maher) Ginty.
He was a lifelong Danbury resident and had attended Danbury schools. He served with the United States Navy during World War II and had partaken in the Normandy invasion.
Mr. Ginty returned to Danbury following the war and went to work for the U.S. Postal Service in Danbury in 1947 as a letter carrier. He retired in 1985 after 38 years with the Postal Service.
He was a member of St. Peter Church, NARFE, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, the Polish American Club, where he was a past president, the American Legion, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Amerigo Vespucci Lodge.
Besides his wife, Mr. Ginty is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Myong Ginty of New Milford; two brothers, Bernard Ginty and Vincent Ginty, both of Danbury; a sister, Florence Vulcano of Danbury; three grandchildren, Christopher, Brendan and Monica; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Mary Butler, in 1996 and by a brother, James J. Ginty, in 1998.

Henry Buxton, 62, father of New Preston man
Henry F. "Bucky" Buxton, 62, died Feb. 20 at his home in Newtown. He was the husband of Mary (Mead) Buxton.
Mr. Buxton was born in Evanston, Ill., Jan. 13, 1938, a son of the late Henry L. and Doris (Chamberlain) Buxton.
He spent his early life in Milwaukee, Wisc., and later lived in Houston and Los Angeles. He served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958 and was stationed in France, where he met his wife. They were married in 1958 and moved to Newtown in 1960.
Mr. Buxton worked as a tree surgeon with his father-in-law, Sanford Mead, and in 1962, fell 60 feet from a tree and broke his back. This event became a turning point in his life.
He worked in mental health and addiction services for the state of Connecticut from 1963 until his retirement in 1992.
Mr. Buxton was a founding staff member of the EDON House Drug Program and eventually became assistant program director of the Berkshire Woods Chemical Dependency Treatment Center.
Although he did not finish high school, he was so impressed by the efforts of the EDON House program residents to further their education that he joined them in their studies and received his GED in 1977.
In 1984, Mr. Buxton received a bachelor's degree from the University of Bridgeport. He was a member of Phi chapter of Alpha Sigma Lambda honor society. In addition to his state service, he maintained a private counseling practice until the time of his death.
Besides his wife, he is survived by six children, Rolande Paguay of Bethel, Marion Carter of North Plains, Ore., Nicole Buxton of Stanley, Falkland Islands, Michael Buxton of New Preston, Suzanne Garofalo of Georgetown and Todd Buxton of White River Junction, Vt.; four grandchildren, Mick and Meghann Carter and Nick and Paul Garofalo; a brother, R.N. Carros of Douglasville, Ga.; and a sister, Leilani Young of Albuquerque, N.M.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Rose Church, Newtown, Tuesday at 10 a.m. Burial will take place in Newtown Village Cemetery in the spring.

Marion Hemingson, 91, taught at Washington High
Marion W. Hemingson, 91, of Baldwin Hill Road, Washington Depot, died Feb. 18 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. She was the widow of Frederick Hemingson.
Mrs. Hemingson was born May 10, 1908, in Union City, N.J.
She received a degree in education from Bay Path College in Massachusetts in 1930, and was a teacher at the former Washington High School in Washington Depot from 1934 to 1974.
Mrs. Hemingson is survived by a nephew, Robert E. Wilson of Trumbull; a niece, Janet Andrews of Glenspey, N.Y.; five grandnieces and nephews; and 11 great-grandnieces and nephews.
A graveside service will take place April 8 at 11 a.m. at Washington Green Cemetery in Washington Depot.

Marjorie Goslee, 68, was a Washington native
Marjorie K. Goslee, 68, of Southbury Training School, died Feb. 12 at Danbury Hospital.
Miss Goslee was born Oct. 7, 1931, in Washington, daughter of the late Roy H. and Millicent (Asman) Goslee.
She is survived by four brothers, Norman Farnsworth of Chicago, Alfred Goslee of Cincinnatus, N.Y., Ronald Goslee of New Milford and Roy Goslee of Florida; and three sisters, Gertrude Dingwell of Harwinton, Doris Turney of Nebraska and Barbara Jean Larson of Texas.

Edward Krajewski, 36, brother of local woman
Edward Krajewski, 36, formerly of Danbury, died Feb. 12 in Panacea, Fla.
Mr. Krajewski was born Sept. 25, 1963, in Stamford, son of the late Eugene W. and Dianne M. Krajewski. He graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury in 1981 and went on to become a machinist.
Mr. Krajewski is survived by two sisters, Susan Gorman of South Kent and Lynne A. Krajewski of Austin, Texas.

John Grusauski, 68, active in Kent community
John Michael Grusauski, 68, of 368 Kent-Cornwall Road, Kent, died Feb. 16 at his home. He was the husband of Mary (Harz) Grusauski.
Mr. Grusauski was born June 29, 1931, in Torrington, son of the late John P. and Hannah (Payne) Grusauski.
He owned and operated G&G Builders in Kent for 40 years. He was active in the community, served several terms on the Kent Board of Selectmen and also served on the Kent Board of Finance for six years.
He was a longtime member of the Kent Volunteer Fire Department. He served as past assistant chief, chairman of several firemen's fairs and the Indian Pow-Wow. He was also an organizer of the Annual Kent Ice Watch. He was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Kent.
Besides his wife, Mr. Grusauski is survived by two sons, Mark J. Grusauski of Canaan and David J. Grusauski of South Kent; a daughter, Karen Bishop of Newport, N.H.; two sisters, Catherine Fagan of South Orange, N.J., and Margaret Wilson of Melbourne, Fla.; and five grandsons.

James Ritchie, 66, owned Sherman Cleaners
James G. Ritchie, 66, of 35 Route 39 South, Sherman, died Feb. 18 at his home. He was the husband of Dorothy (Whalen) Stelzel Ritchie.
Mr. Ritchie was born in Mahopac, N.Y., March 18, 1933, a son of the late William and Alma (McCormick) Ritchie.
He had worked for Conrail for 30 years before his retirement. He owned and operated the Sherman Green Cleaners in Sherman.
Mr. Ritchie was a member of the Word First Ministries Church in New Milford. He had lived in Sherman for the past 25 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son, Edward Ritchie of Danbury; two stepsons, Robert Stelzel and Paul Stelzel; a daughter, Linda Ward of Naugatuck; two stepdaughters, Kathy Tumyol and Sheryl Morris; a sister, Anice Newmark; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was predeceased by a son, James Ritchie III, and a sister, Ethel Bedat.

Genevieve Angelovich, 83, longtime area resident
Genevieve (Buczek) Angelovich, 83, of 54 West Morris Road, Bantam, died Feb. 27. She was the widow of John Angelovich.
Mrs. Angelovich was born March 29, 1916, in Chicago Heights, Ill., daughter of the late Thomas and Louise (Bartnicki) Buczek.
She worked for 30 years as timekeeper and lead lady for B. E. Aerospace of Bantam before her retirement in 1981.
Mrs. Angelovich is survived by a brother, Edward Buczek of Pensacola, Fla.; two sisters, Helen Makara of Terryville and Celia Farrington of Willington; and several nieces and nephews.

Dominick Sorbara, 59, longtime New Milford resident
Dominick A. Sorbara, 59, died Feb. 26 at his home on Ridge Road, New Milford. He was the husband of Josephine Santaguida.
Mr. Sorbara was born Sept. 9, 1940, in Stamford, a son of the late John A. and Catherine (Gallace) Sorbara.
He was a 27-year resident of New Milford and had worked as a truck driver for 17 years for the former Associated Food Company. He was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church, New Milford.
Besides his wife, Mr. Sorbara is survived by two sons, John Sorbara and Joseph Sorbara, both of New Milford; two daughters, Mary Ketchin of Wingdale, N.Y., and Rose Cullen of New Milford; two sisters, Theresa Vartuli of Stamford and Susan Chappa of Westport; three grandchildren, Marissa and Taylor Ketchin of Wingdale and Dominick Sorbara of New Milford; and several nieces and nephews.

Caroline B. Chase, 74, was a native of Sherman
Caroline B. Chase, 74, of Butter Brook Hill Apartments, New Milford, died Feb. 23 in Martin Memorial Hospital, Stuart, Fla.
Mrs. Chase was born Nov. 28, 1925, in Sherman, a daughter of the late Marshall and Laurena (Murphy) Beatty. She attended Sherman schools.
Mrs. Chase was employed as a cook for 11 years at the New Milford Nursing Home before retiring in 1985. She was a winter resident of Stuart, where she volunteered at the Martin County Sheriff's Office.
She is survived by a son, Russell Chase; five daughters, Susan Hurlburt of Gaylordsville, Sandra Cieklinski of New Milford, Donna Williams of Bantam, Carol Chase of New Milford and Darlene Chase of Stuart; a brother, Edward Beatty of Florida; four sisters, Ethel Chase of Florida, Virginia Porkrywka and Margaret Cummings, both of New Milford, and Lucille Shanks of Florida; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Thomas Hackett, 73, had owned H&H Homes
Thomas Patrick Hackett, 73, of Viera, Fla., died Feb. 25 at Weustoff Hospital in Rockledge, Fla. He was the husband of the late Jean Hackett, who passed away in 1984.
Mr. Hackett was born in Rockaway, N.Y. He served in the Navy during World War II as a chief petty officer in the Pacific theater.
He attended St. John's University and retired from the New York Police Department after 20 years of service. He owned and operated H&H Custom Homes in New Milford for nearly 20 years.
Mr. Hackett is survived by two daughters, Carol Filippi of Sherman and Noreen Donohue of New Milford; two sons, Thomas Hackett Jr. of Sherman and Patrick Hackett of New Milford; and 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place at Holy Trinity Church on Routes 37 and 39 in Sherman tomorrow (Saturday) at noon.
