Patricia M. Sorak, 53, was active in Washington
Patricia (Mulherin) Sorak, 53, of 19 Garland Road, Washington, died May 10 at New Milford Hospital. She was the wife of Allan Sorak.
Mrs. Sorak was born in New Milford Feb. 25, 1947, a daughter of Alvah and Marguerite (Cavanaugh) Mulherin. She was a 1965 graduate of the former Washington High School.
Mrs. Sorak was a former chairman of the Republican Town Committee in Washington, she was a former member of the Washington Rotary Club, and she was serving as secretary for the Washington Citizens Scholarship Fund at the time of her death.
She had most recently worked at the Washington Cleaners.
Besides her husband and parents, she is survived by three daughters, Jessica A., Stephanie L. and Meredith R., all of Washington; a brother, Arthur G. Mulherin of Washington; a granddaughter, Emma P. Tuz; and three nieces.

Charles Paetsch, 92, had lived in New Milford
Charles Michael Paetsch, 92, of 85 Sherry Lane, New Milford, died May 15 at Candlewood Valley Health Center in New Milford. He was the husband of Edith (Fitzgerald) Paetsch.
Mr. Paetsch was born Oct. 24, 1907, in Bridgeport, son of the late Charles H. and Johanna (Carroll) Paetsch. He was a graduate of Clarkson University in Troy, N.Y., and was vice president and plant manager at the former House of Westmore in Newburgh, N.Y.
He was a resident of Newburgh before moving to New Milford in 1972.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, C. Gerald Paetsch of Marietta, Ga., Robert A. Paetsch of New Milford and Lawrence M. Paetsch of Sherman; a daughter, Johanna Breen of Eaglemount, Australia; and 11 grandchildren.
A Memorial Mass will be held today (Friday) at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of the Lakes Church, Old Town Park Road, New Milford. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Gary Hazen, 40, was resident of New Milford
Gary Hazen, 40, of Bank Street, New Milford, died unexpectedly May 14 at Griffin Hospital in Derby. He was the husband of Joan Macko.
Mr. Hazen was born Sept. 2, 1959, in New Haven, a son of Gordon and Janice (Anderson) Hazen of North Haven. He was a self-employed carpenter.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a son, Gary Hazen of Florida; a daughter, Nicole Hazen of Florida; two sisters, Deborah Venitimer of Deep River and Iva DeDona of North Haven; three stepchildren, Kathryn Krenick, Kristine Krenick and Elizabeth Krenick, all of New Milford; and three nephews, Santino DeDona, Matthew Venitimer and Benjamin Venitimer.

Robert Boyden, 72, was a retired state trooper
Robert Edward Boyden, 72, of 340 Kent-Cornwall Road, Kent, died May 12 at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Jo-Anne (Hoyt) Boyden.
Mr. Boyden was born in Boston Dec. 7, 1927, a son of the late George and Cecelia (Haley) Boyden.
He was a graduate of Dorchester High School, Dorchester, Mass. He was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Marines.
He had been a trooper with the Connecticut State Police from 1961 to 1978 and had last served at Troop L in Litchfield. He had been an instructor at the Connecticut State Police Academy from 1978 to 1985. He had lived in Kent since 1963.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert E. Boyden Jr. of Miami, Fla., and Nicholas H. Boyden of Kent; a daughter, Christina H. Boyden of Greenwood Lake, N.Y.; and two sisters, Pauline Regan of Braintree, Mass. and Lorraine Hussey of Brockton, Mass. He was predeceased by a brother, Ric Boyden.

Evelyn W. Olson, 84, former New Milfordite
Evelyn W. Olson, 84, formerly of New Milford, died May 10 in Fairfax, Va.
Mrs. Olson and her husband, Albert, were longtime residents of New Milford before moving to Florida in 1988 and to Herndon, Va., in 1999. She graduated from New Milford High School in 1933 and was a secretary at DeVoe Realty for many years.
Mrs. Olson is survived by her husband, to whom she was married for 62 years; two sons and daughters-in-law, Gary and Christina Olson of Herndon and Thomas and Robyn Olson of Fort Worth, Texas; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were private.
Linda P. Eisele, 52, was a native of New Milford
Linda (Page) Eisele, 52, of 900 East Fifth St., Lehigh Acres, Fla., died May 10 at Lee Memorial Hospital in Fort Myers, Fla. She was the wife of Peter Eisele.
Mrs. Eisele was born March 29, 1948, in New Milford, daughter of Harold E. and Marion (Coons) Page of New Milford.
She grew up in New Milford and was a 1965 graduate of New Milford High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She traveled extensively during her lifetime and lived for a number of years in Rangoo, Burma, before moving to Lehigh Acres in 1997.
Besides her husband and parents, Mrs. Eisele is survived by a daughter, Wendy I. Eisele of Myrtle Beach, S.C.

Robert G. Luburg, 85, former Roxbury resident
Robert Guy Luburg, 85, of Essex, formerly of Roxbury, died May 12. He was the husband of Jean (Murkland) Luburg.
Mr. Luburg was a 1937 graduate of Cornell University, School of Engineering. He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from New York University.
He served as a lieutenant colonel in the China-Burma theater during World War II.
Mr. Luberg was president of the Tapley Rudder Co. and president of its successor company, 234 Moonachie Corp. He was a member of The New York Yacht Club and Essex Yacht Club.
Besides his wife, Mr. Luberg is survived by two daughters, Sally Kennedy Holzapfel of Potterville, N.J., and Sandra McDowell Beeman of Roxbury; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter. His first wife, Ruth E. Wessmann, is deceased.

Julia Sullivan, 87, mother of Roxbury woman
Julia (Galvin) Sullivan, 87, of Waterbury died May 12 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the widow of Henry Thomas Sullivan.
Mrs. Sullivan was born Dec. 12, 1912, in Waterbury, daughter of the late James and Ellen (Daly) Galvin.
A lifelong Waterbury resident, she was a communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, New Britain Normal School and Western Connecticut State University.
Mrs. Sullivan was a teacher at Washington School in Waterbury for 22 years, retiring in 1979. She was a member of Waterbury Retired Teachers Association and Connecticut Education Association.
Mrs. Sullivan is survived by four sons, John of Bethlehem, James of Jackson, Wyo., Henry of San Diego, Calif., and Gregory of West Hartford; three daughters, Ellen Sullivan of Woodbury, Ernestine Clark of Roxbury and Margaret Blum of Waterbury; and nine grandchildren.

Patricia Hagan, 68, worked at Pettibone School
Patricia (Kelly) Hagan, 68, of 8 Maple St., New Milford, died May 23 at Columbia-Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She was the wife of the late William J. Hagan.
Mrs. Hagan was born in Manhattan Aug. 10, 1931, a daughter of the late John and Rose Ann (Scarry) Kelly.
She spent her early life in New York City, moving to New Milford in 1955.
Mrs. Hagan had worked as a school aide at John Pettibone School in New Milford from 1973 to 1994. She had also been employed at the Homestead Inn in New Milford from 1988 to 1999.
A communicant of St. Francis Xavier Church, she was a member of the church's Confraternity of the Rosary.
Mrs. Hagan is survived by two sons, William J. Hagan Jr. and his wife, Catherine, of Bethel and Timothy E. Hagan of New Milford; a daughter, Mary Beth Hagan of New Milford; a brother, Donald Kelly of Hollywood, Fla.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held today (Friday) at 11 a.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford, and proceed to St. Francis Xavier Church, Route 109, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford.

Lee Calabrese, 69, was a New Milford resident
Lee (Saitta) Calabrese, 69, of 19 East View Drive, New Milford, the wife of the late Anthony Calabrese, died May 21 at Danbury Hospital.
She was born in New York City July 16, 1930, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Lucrezia (D'Angelo) Saitta.
Mrs. Calabrese had lived in New Milford for the past 20 years. She had attended New York City schools.
Mrs. Calabrese is survived by five sons, Vincent Calabrese of New York, Anthony Calabrese, Richard Calabrese and Robert Calabrese, all of New Milford, and Steven Calabrese of Danbury; two daughters, Linda Calabrese of New Milford and Lucretia Reel of New York; four sisters and six great-grandchildren.

Dolores Hayden, 65, mother of New Milford woman
Dolores M. Hayden, 65, of West Wooster St., Danbury, died May 17. She was the wife of Robert L. Hayden.
Mrs. Hayden was born in Danbury Nov. 26, 1934, a daughter of the late John and Rose (Longo) Parille. She was a lifetime Danbury resident and a graduate of Danbury schools. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Hayden is survived by a daughter, Donna M. Pratt of New Milford; two brothers, Donald Parille of South Windsor and Robert Parille of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.; a sister, Evelyn Lamendola of Danbury; a grandson, Christopher A. Pratt of New Milford; and several nieces and nephews.

Hazel Peschko, 78, mother of Sherman woman
Hazel Peschko, 78, of Heritage Village, Southbury, formerly of Bethel, died May 17 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of the late Joseph L. Peschko.
Mrs. Peschko was born in Maryland Sept. 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Eli and Bertha (Landon) Crounse.
She grew up and attended schools in Maryland. She moved to Danbury with her husband in 1945.
Mrs. Peschko had been a Bethel resident for over 45 years, prior to moving to Heritage Village following the death of her husband in 1996.
She was employed as an inspector for Davis and Geck for over 20 years, retiring in 1986.
She was a member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Bethel.
Mrs. Peschko is survived by two sons, John M. Peschko Sr. and Robert Peschko, both of Bethel; a daughter, Patricia E. Lynch of Sherman; a sister, Dorothy Brooks of Baltimore; seven grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her son Joseph L. Peschko Jr.
