Robert Morlock, 63, father of New Milford woman
Robert F. Morlock, 63, of Obtuse Hill Road, Brookfield, died Jan. 21 at his home. He was the husband of Jean (Chelso) Morlock.
Mr. Morlock was born in Danbury Aug. 11, 1937, son of the late William E. and Helen (Goels) Morlock.
He was a graduate of Danbury High School, Class of 1955, where he had been actively involved with sports.
After high school, he served in the United States Army, and when he returned to Brookfield, he founded the Robert F. Morlock Construction Co. of Brookfield, which he operated until the time of his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Morlock was an avid golfer and sports enthusiast. He also loved gardening and his grandchildren.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Robert of Redding and Michael of Brookfield; a daughter, Patricia Scozzafava of New Milford; two brothers, William of Ridgefield and Frederick of Brookfield; four grandchildren, Thomas and Meredith Scozzafava and Courtney and Michael Morlock; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Edward.

Marie DeLuca, 84, leaves daughter in New Milford
Marie J. DeLuca, 84, died Jan. 17 at the home of her daughter, Marlene Hasse of Shadow Lane, New Milford. She was the widow of Anthony J. DeLuca and lived on Oak Street in Danbury.
Mrs. DeLuca was born in Danbury Feb. 28, 1916, daughter of the late Anthony and Rose (Tomaino) Pane.
She attended Danbury schools.
Mrs. DeLuca is survived by two daughters, Dolores Krokovich of New Fairfield and Mrs. Hasse; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Angelo of Florida and Anthony of Danbury; two sisters, Amelia Chiarella and Laura Waters, both of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.

Barry W. Frost, 55, was a resident of New Milford
Barry Wolf Frost, 55, of 3 Butler Lane, New Milford, died Jan. 17 at his home. He was the husband of Sydell (Hecht) Frost.
Mr. Frost was born Jan. 2, 1946, in Brooklyn, N.Y., son of the late Isadore and Mildred (Hertan) Frost.
He was a graduate of Hofstra University in Long Island, N.Y., and worked as a security trader for Union Carbide since 1985. He moved to New Milford from Levittown, N.Y., in 1987.
Besides his wife, Mr. Frost is survived by two sons, Aaron of San Francisco and Stefan of Bethel; a brother, Edmond of Virginia Beach, Va.; and a sister, Joy Goldkind of Nissequogue, N.Y.

Olive Stuart, 95, matriarch of local family
She was mother of 14 and had 102 other descendants
Olive (Traver) Stuart, 95, of 109 Christian St., Bridgewater, died Jan. 27 at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the widow of C. Henry Stuart.
Mrs. Stuart was born in Sharon Aug. 21, 1905, a daughter of the late Cafder L. and Minnie (McDonald) Traver.
She spent her early life in Sharon and had lived in Bridgewater since 1930. She was a member of St. Mark’s Church, Bridgewater, and had formerly served on the Altar Guild of the church. Olive Stuart
She is survived by three sons, William and Donald and his wife, Marylou, all of Bridgewater, and Richard and his wife, Charlotte, of Newport, N.C.; five daughters, Olive Williams and her husband, Donald, of Southbury, Loretta Larson and her husband, Frederick, of Wells, Vt., Lucy Ferriss and her fiancé, Harry Williams, of New Milford, Nancy Law and her husband, Edward, of Southbury and Priscilla Orvis and her husband, Robert, of New Milford; 102 grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sons, Millard, C. Henry Jr. and John; and three daughters, Marjorie Williams, Dorothy E. Barrett and Jean E. Stuart.

Ernest Miller, 94, banker
and community volunteer
Ernest E. Miller, 94, of New Milford died Jan. 31 at Ashlar of Newtown. He was the husband of the late Gladys (Tilk) Miller.
Mr. Miller was born in Bethel Jan. 14, 1907, a son of the late Edward and Emma (Ferry) Miller.
He was a graduate of Colby College and Stonier Graduate School of Banking. He served in the Navy during World War II and the Korean War.
Mr. Miller was a career banker who retired in 1972 as senior vice president and western regional manager after over 25 years at the Colonial Bank & Trust.
Mr. Miller was the first chairman of the New Milford Planning Commission and a member of the Republican Town Committee. He was also a member of the New Milford Chamber of Commerce, the Lions Club and the Red Cross. He was a member and former trustee and deacon at the First Congregational Church of New Milford.
He was also a former president and chairman of the board of New Milford Hospital.
He is survived by two sons, Terrill of Albany, N.Y., and Lyndall of New Milford; a step-brother, William of New Milford; and two grandchildren, Elizabeth of New Milford and Sally Shanks of Clarksville, Tenn.
Funeral services and burial will be in Center Cemetery, New Milford. They will be private.

Emerson Osborn Sr., 84, was actively involved in Sherman
Emerson Edwin Osborn Sr., 84, of Sherman died Jan. 30 in The Kent. He was the husband of Charlotte (Borerum) Osborn.
Mr. Osborn was born March 4, 1916, in Quaker Hill, N.Y., a son of the late Edwin F. and Edith (Ludington) Osborn.
He was a resident of Sherman for 59 years and a graduate of New Milford High School. He was a dairy farmer in Sherman for many years.
After retiring from farming, he worked at the Sherman Hardware Store and enjoyed caning chairs. He was a member of the Sherman Congregational Church and served as deacon and trustee. He became deacon emeritus in 1995.
Mr. Osborn served as chairman of the Sherman Board of Education. He also served on the Zoning Board and was a charter member of the Sherman Fire Department.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Emerson Jr. of Sherman; a daughter, Deborah Love of The Woodlands, Texas; a brother, Paul of Sherman; a sister, Elizabeth Benny of Muskegon, Mich.; a granddaughter, Laura Allison Love; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the Sherman Congregational Church, Church Road, Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

Anthony DeFrancesco, 56, father of Sherman woman
Anthony “Tony D” Joseph DeFrancesco, 56, of East Haven died Jan. 24 at his home. He was the husband of Linda M. (Tufano) DeFrancesco.
Mr. DeFrancesco was born in Bridgeport March 24, 1944, the son of the late William and Frances (DeLibro) DeFrancesco Sr.
He worked as the vice president, service director of Cherney Pontiac of Ansonia for 30 years, until the time of his illness.
He was the founder and former director and drum major for the Connecticut Alumni Drum and Bugle Corps and a former drum major for the Connecticut Hurricanes Drum and Bugle Corps.
Besides his wife, Mr. DeFrancesco is survived by three daughters, Tracey of Seymour, Linda of Sherman and Jennifer Vannuccini and her husband, Robert, of West Hartford; two brothers, William and his wife, Nancy, of West Haven and Joseph and his wife, Kathy, of Shelton; three grandchildren, Anthony Capasso and Shawn and Christopher Meade, all of Seymour. He was predeceased by a brother, Vincent DeFrancesco.

Robert Heering, 70, father of New Milford woman
Robert J. Heering, 70, of 16 Oxford St., Bethel, husband of Julia (Beck) Heering, died Jan. 30 at the Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Heering was born in Danbury Sept. 2, 1930, a son of the late Carl H. and Olga V. (Swanson) Heering. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1948.
He entered the United States Navy on March 11, 1949, and served at various locations including San Francisco and Guam. He received an honorable discharge and was recommended for re-enlistment.
Upon re-enlistment, he served aboard the USS John R. Pierce and the USS Dennis J. Buckley during the Korean War and received a second honorable discharge in 1953.
Mr. Heering was a retired mechanical engineer of the Barden Corporation.
He was a member of the American Legion Post No. 100 of Bethel and a member of the Phoenix Volunteer Fire Department No. 8 of Danbury.
An avid bowler, Mr. Heering belonged to various bowling teams and leagues over the years.
In addition to his spouse of 45 years, he is survived by a son, attorney Robert L. Heering and his wife, Stephanie (McCleery) of Bethel; two daughters, Cynthia Anne Hasulak and her husband, David, of Wolcott and Kimberly Marie Sweeney and her husband, Frederick, of New Milford; a sister, Joan Ziolkowski of Danbury; two brothers, John I. Heering and William G. Heering, both of Bethel; nine grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by three brothers, Richard Heering, Carl Heering and Francis Heering, and a sister, Elizabeth Mannion.
The Rite of Burial will take place today (Friday) at 10:30 a.m. at St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 125 Kohanza St., Danbury, with the Rev. Joseph Longofono, officiating.
Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery with military honors.

Grace S. Lewis, 88, had lived in New Milford
Grace Sherwood Lewis, 88, of Brookfield died Jan. 18 at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. She was the widow of Edson Harold Lewis.

Joseph Baranowski, 85, was a New Milford resident
Joseph A. Baranowski, 85, of New Milford died Jan. 25 at Candlewood Valley Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Milford. He was the husband of the late Susan (Nelson) Baranowski.
Mr. Baranowski was born Dec. 11, 1915, in Queens, N.Y., a son of the late Anthony and Stella (Zawadzka) Baranowski.
He served as a major in the United States Army during World War II. He worked for many years for ConRail in New York and retired in 1982 as a foreman.
He had been a resident of New Milford since 1987, when he moved from Montrose, N.Y.
Mr. Baranowski is survived by three sons, Joseph of New Milford, Thomas of Houston, Tex., and Robert of Suffern, N.Y.; two daughters, Ellen Grant of Summit, N.Y., and Karen Ziolkowski of Hamden; two sisters, Annie Sanderson of New Mexico and Helen Zarzycki of New York; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at Connecticut Crematory Corporation, Stamford.
