Robert Peterson, 57, brother of Warren woman
Robert W. Peterson, 57, formerly of Goodhouse Road, Litchfield, died March 21 as a result of an automobile accident in Sharon.
Mr. Peterson was born Sept. 27, 1944, in Valdosta, Ga., son of Helen (Henriksen) Peterson of Torrington and the late Robert M. Peterson.
He was a graduate of Litchfield High School and the Hartford Institute of Accounting. He was vice president of Salisbury Bank and Trust.
He served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War, was a member of Old Newgate Coon Club in Norfolk and was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Besides his mother, Mr. Peterson is survived by a sister, Jill Seavey of Warren.
The funeral and burial were private.
The Rowe Funeral Home of Litchfield was in charge of arrangements.

James Mann, 39, was brother of New Milford man
James R. Mann, 39, died March 25 in Memphis, Tenn.
Mr. Mann was born Oct. 26, 1962, in Danbury, son of Donald H. and Geraldine M. (Sayles) Mann.
He graduated from Henry Abbott Regional Technical School in 1980. He was a finish carpenter and worked for several firms in this area. He attended St. Joseph Church in Brookfield.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandmother, Helen Sayles of Stratford; four brothers, Donald Jr. and Stephen of Brookfield, Edward of Naugatuck and Dennis of New Milford; a sister, Petty Officer 1st Class Christine E. Rogerson, R.N.U.S.N., of Corpus Christi, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and aunts and uncles.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date.
The Brookfield Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Brian Swanson, 21, was Shepaug Valley graduate
Brian Allan Swanson, 21, of Marble Dale died April 2 at New Milford Hospital, the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Roxbury.
Brian was born in New Milford, Oct. 2, 1980, the son of Allan K. Swanson Jr. of Marble Dale and Darlene (Bushman) Mclain of Bowdon, Ga.
He was a graduate of Shepaug Valley High School, Class of 1999, and was employed by the Waters Construction Co. of New Milford at the time of his death.
In addition to his parents, Brian is survived by his stepmother, Lynda Swanson of Marble Dale, and his stepfather, Darryl Mclain of Bowdon, Ga.; his maternal grandparents, Anthony and Genevieve Bushman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his stepsisters, Nichole and Jordan of Georgia; his stepbrothers, Dustan and George, both of Georgia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Allan K. and Gloria J. Swanson.
Burial was in the Underwood Meadows Cemetery in New Preston.
The Colonial Funeral Home in New Milford was in charge of the arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Volunteer Fire Department, Box 244, Washington Depot, CT 06793.

Glen Travers, 86, longtime Home Oil Co. salesman
Glen E. Travers, 86, formerly of Maple Street, Kent, died April 3 at New Milford Nursing Home. He was the widower of Leah (Lathrope) Travers.
Mr. Travers was born July 15, 1915, in Ansonia, son of the late Harry and Hazel (Allen) Travers. He spent his early life in New Milford and was a graduate of New Milford High School.
Mr. Travers was a salesman for many years at Home Oil Co. in New Milford, retiring in 1980. He moved to Kent in 1986 and was a member of the First Congregational Church of Kent.
While living in New Milford, he participated with the New Milford Community Band for a number of years.
He is survived by two sons, Jack E. Travers of Warren and Douglas G. Travers of Lutz, Fla.; two brothers, Richard Travers of New Milford and Paul Travers of Syracuse, N.Y.; and one grandson.
The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford was in charge of the arrangements.

Joseph Bogues, 70, was father of New Milford man
Joseph H. Bogues, 70, a lifelong resident of Danbury, died peacefully at home April 4. He was the husband of Ruth (Heilmann) Bogues.
He was born in Danbury May 21, 1931, the son of the late John P. Bogues and Anna Kubisec. He graduated from Danbury High School in 1949.
Mr. Bogues worked at George McLaughlin Hat Factory throughout high school and at Eaton Consolidated Controls Corporation in Bethel for 38 years.
He was a lifetime member of the Danbury Drum Corps, serving over 55 years in various roles, including vice president, treasurer and most recently, member of the Board of Trustees.
His devotion to the drum corps motivated him to teach several area corps throughout the 1960s and 1970s, including Grassy Plain Drum Corps and the Striders Drum Corps.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force. He was stationed in Germany, where he met and married his wife.
Mr. Bogues was a member of the Catholic War Veterans and Korean War Veterans.
Family members said he was an avid golfer and that his love for the game and his golf buddies kept him young in retirement.
He was a deeply religious man who attended St. Joseph’s Church and served as an usher since 1963. Spring was his favorite time of year.
In addition to his wife of 47 years, Mr. Bogues is survived by his four daughters, Joan Roby and her husband Mark of Killingworth, Pattie Yannes and her husband Roy of Oxford, Karen Bogues of Sarasota, Fla., and Sharon Wrabel and her husband David of Burlington; his son, Michael Bogues of New Milford; eight grandchildren, Janet and Chris Roby, Craig, Erica and Zachary Yannes, Jayson Dale, and Sarah and Alyssa Wrabel; his brothers, John Bogues and Francis Bogues of Danbury; and his sisters, Genevieve Deep of Danbury and Anne Pracuta of Brookfield.
The Green Funeral Home in Danbury was in charge of the arrangements.

Peter DiBenedetto, 79, had relatives in New Milford
Peter P. DiBenedetto, 79, formerly of 75 Memorial Drive, Danbury, died April 3 at Danbury Hospital. He was the widower of Elsie Armentano-DiBenedetto.
Mr. DiBenedetto was born March 18, 1923, in New Rochelle, N.Y., a son of the late Charles and Marie (Garillia) DiBenedetto.
He attended New Rochelle schools and was a Golden Gloves boxer at the Pelham, N.Y., Boys Club. After moving to Danbury, he worked at the former Danbury Mall off Elm Street and then as a driver for Chippeo Bus Company, HART Bus Company and the American Red Cross.
He was an avid bingo player and was well-known as the Santa Claus at the Danbury Mall in the 1970s.
Mr. DiBenedetto is survived by two sons, Peter of Brookfield and Charles of Pelham; five daughters, Donna Bloom and her husband Brian of Danbury, Linda Farnham of Holyoke, Mass., Penny Romaine and her husband Herbie of Danbury, Monica Cottrell and her husband Jeff of Danbury, and Mary Anne Belcourt and her husband Lenny of New Milford; two stepsons, Daniel Armentano of Danbury and Robert Armentano of New Milford; a brother, Mario; two sisters, Florence Thomas and Madeline of N.J.; 14 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a sister, Angela and stepdaughter, Dolores Palumbo

Mary Renzoni, 82, was mother of New Milfordite
Mary (Augelli) Renzoni, 82, of 54 C Clifford St., Hamden, died April 2. She was the widow of Vincent A. Renzoni Sr.
Mrs. Renzoni was born Sept. 29, 1919, in Waterbury, a daughter of the late Nicola and Antoinette (Datellis) Augelli.
She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School, a lifelong member of Ben/Mawr Club, and a communicant of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church.
She was employed at the Credit Bureau of Waterbury for 25 years until her retirement.
Mrs. Renzoni is survived by two sons, Vincent Jr. and his wife Sally of Cameron Park, Calif., and Anthony and his wife Colleen of Hamden; a daughter, Marie and her husband William Plunkett of New Milford; three brothers, Joseph Augelli of North Carolina, Nicholas Augelli of Waterbury and Anthony Augelli of Prospect; four grandchildren, William Plunkett and Kerry, Nicole and Camille Renzoni. She was predeceased by a brother, Peter Augelli, and a sister, Anne Morra.
The Maiorano Funeral Home of Waterbury was in charge of arrangements.

Irving Shapiro, 82, was a resident of Washington
Irving Shapiro, 82, of 39 Sunset Lane, Washington, died at his home April 3. He was the widower of Beatrice Schwartz Shapiro.
Mr. Shapiro was born Aug. 30, 1919, in Woodbridge, N.Y., a son of the late Louis and Iola Shapiro. He was a graduate of New Milford High School, Class of 1937.
He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United State Army.
Mr. Shapiro operated the New Milford Window and Chimney Cleaning Company for many years.
He is survived by two sons, Lon Shapiro and his wife Amy of Washington, and Donald Shapiro of Jupiter, Fla.
The Lillis Funeral Home in New Milford was in charge of the arrangements.

Christopher Swanson, 18, senior at Shepaug Valley
Christopher Allan Swanson, 18, of Marble Dale died April 3 at Hartford Hospital, the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident in Roxbury.
Christopher was born in New Milford Feb. 27, 1984, a son of Allan K. Swanson Jr. and Lynda S. (Bushman) Swanson of Marble Dale. He was a senior at Shepaug Valley High School and was employed part-time at East Coast Flightcraft of New Milford at the time of his death.
In addition to his parents, Christopher is survived by his maternal grandparents, Anthony and Genevieve Bushman of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; his stepsister, Dawn Dominguez, of Ga.; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, Allan K. and Gloria J. Swanson.
Burial was in the Underwood Meadows Cemetery in New Preston.

Gerald Corrigan, 77, former manager at Century Brass
Gerald F. Corrigan, 77, of 16 Swifts Lane, Kent, died April 7 at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Flora B. Day Corrigan.
Mr. Corrigan was born in Waterbury July 21, 1924. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army. He retired as manager of Scovill and Century Brass Manufacturing Company in New Milford.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, Gerald Jr., Francis, Jeffrey and Thomas; a daughter, Margaret Towne; a sister; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The Lillis Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
