Dorothy M. Easton
Dorothy May Stevens Easton, 88, a lifelong New Milford resident, died Wednesday at New Milford Hospital.
Mrs. Easton, of 10 Big Bear Road, New Milford, was the wife of the late Charles E. Easton.
She was born in New Milford, March 23, 1910, a daughter of George O. and Lina Belle Barton Stevens. She was a 1928 graduate of New Milford High School.
In New Milford, Mrs. Easton was a member of Palm Rebekah Lodge #43 and the Metichewan Grange. She was also a member of the United Methodist Church and the Women's Society at the church.
Her survivors include a son, Edward Easton of New Milford; two daughters, Dolores Kwasnik of Bridgewater and Elsie Mott of Woodbury; a brother, Robert Stevens of Springfield, Mass.; four grandchildren; and nine great- grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Stuart E. Easton.

George C. Page
George C. Page, 81, a retired foreman with the Kent Highway Department, died Monday at the Glen Hill Convalescent Center in Danbury.
Mr. Page, of Cobble Road, Kent, was the husband of Sophie Naborning Page.
He was born in Kent, Nov. 6, 1916, a son of Arthur V. and Eunice Hall Page. He was a 1934 graduate of the former Kent High School.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U.S. Army.
Before his 1981 retirement, Mr. Page had been employed for many years as a member of the Kent Highway Department. He had been named as the department's first road foreman in 1967.
Mr. Page was a 56-year member of the Kent Volunteer Fire Department and had served as treasurer for many years.
He had also served as a constable for the Town of Kent.
He was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Kent and had served as a trustee from 1975 to 1993.
Besides his wife, Mr. Page is survived by a son, Thomas S. Page of Kent; a daughter, Nancy P. Manley of Northport Ala.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eunice M. Edson
Eunice M. Edson, 77, an F.A.A. licensed pilot who flew both sea planes and conventional aircraft for many years, died Tuesday at her home.
Mrs. Edson, of 13 Maplecrest Drive, Danbury was the wife of Dr. Dean H. Edson.
She was born in Wilder, Vt., May 18, 1920, a daughter of Theodore and Lucille Thibodeau Martel.
As a young woman, Mrs., Edson was employed as the administrative assistant to the Dean of Freshmen at Dartmouth College.
A Danbury resident since 1946, Mrs. Edson volunteered for many years at Danbury Hospital and at the Women's Auxiliary Thrift Shop. She had also previously been a member of the PTA at Mill Ridge School and was a Parent Classroom Aide for grades 1-6. She also volunteered for local Girl Scout troops.
Besides her husband, she is survived by two daughters, Diane Butt of Weston, Mass., and Elissa Edson-Clayton of Manchester, Conn.; two sisters, Marie Hatch of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sybill Treachier of Salem, N.H.; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Marion I. Smith
Marion I. Smith, 87, a Brookfield resident until moving to Florida in 1996, died Saturday at her home in Port St. Lucie.
Mrs. Smith was born in West Redding, Jan. 26, 1911, a daughter of Robert and Alice Newland Carney. She attended Danbury High School.
She was a member of Long Ridge Methodist Church in Redding.
Her survivors include a son, Roger Smith of Port St. Lucie; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

William V. Lathrop
William Vincent Lathrop, 85, a retired hatter, died Tuesday at Heritage Heights in Danbury.
Mr. Lathrop, formerly of South Street in Bethel, was the husband of the late Naomi Lathrop.
A lifelong Bethel resident, he was born in Bethel, Jan. 8, 1913, a son of Charles and Margaret Lathrop.
He had been a hatter for many years.
Mr. Lathrop is survived by a son, William W. Lathrop of Fairfield; two daughters, Althea R. Melillo of Bethel and Judith L. Buonaito of Mt. View, Calif.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Jane H. Jennings
Jane Higson Jennings, 85, former lead soprano soloist with the choir at St. James' Episcopal Church, died Wednesday at Filosa Convalescent Center in Danbury.
Mrs. Jennings was the wife of the late Richard D. Jennings Jr. and had lived at Brushy Hill Road in Danbury.
A lifelong Danbury resident, she was born in Danbury, Dec. 13, 1912, a daughter of Alfred and Marion Greely Higson.
During World War II, Mrs. Jennings was a nurse's aide at Danbury Hospital.
She was an active volunteer with the American Red Cross in Danbury and logged 60,000 miles to and from Yale-New Haven Hospital during the 1950s. She was also an active volunteer with the American Cancer Society and was a supporter of the Scott-Fanton Museum.
A member and past president of the Afternoon Music Society, she was also a D.A.R. member.
She was an active member of St. James' Episcopal Church, where she was lead soprano soloist for many years. She had also been lead soloist in the Putnam Choral Society.
Mrs. Jennings is survived by three sons, Alfred Sr. of Danbury, Richard D. of Bethel, and David C. of Buckingham Springs, Pa.; two sisters, Dorothy Streaman of Danbury and Sally Griffing of New Milford; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mary A. Rotunda
Mary A. Gillotte Rotunda, 93, a lifelong Danbury resident, died Wednesday at Ashlar of Newtown.
Mrs. Rotunda was the wife of the late Dominic Rotunda.
She was born in Danbury, Sept. 15, 1904, a daughter of Bernard and Mary Mendsine Gillotte. She was educated in local schools.
Mrs. Rotunda was a member of St. Peter Church.
Her survivors include two sons, Robert J. of Danbury and Bernard S. of Bethel; two daughters, Joan H. Peek of New Milford and Roberta A. Caraluzzi of Redding; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

David M. Sheehan
David M. Sheehan, 74, a retired chemist, died Wednesday at Elin Park, Cheshire, Conn.
A resident of Cheshire for the past four years, Mr. Sheehan formerly lived at 131 Great Plain Road, Danbury. He was the husband of the late Joan M. McCormack Sheehan.
He was born in Lowell, Mass., Nov. 28, 1931, a son of John F. and Catherine Magah Sheehan. He attended schools in Lowell and was a graduate of Northeastern University with a bachelor's degree in chemistry.
Before his retirement in 1987, Mr. Sheehan had been employed at the Berol Corporation for 25 years.
He was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church.
His survivors include a son, David M. Sheehan Jr. of Chincoteague, Va.; three daughters, Nancy Brecher of Cheshire, Sarah Rausch of Ellsworth, Maine, and Mary Sheehan-Lally of Thomaston, Conn.; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Christine W. Fulton
Christine W. Fulton, 87, a retired nurse and the mother of Robert D. Fulton of Danbury, died Sunday at Fairfield Manor in Norwalk, Conn.
Mrs. Fulton, formerly of Stamford, Conn., was the wife of the late Robert T. Fulton.
She was born in Putnam, Conn., Dec. 25, 1910, a daughter of Ellsworth and Louise Benson Wilcox.
A graduate of the Rhode Island School of Nursing, she was a registered nurse and worked at Day-Kimball Hospital in Putnam and at Stamford Hospital. SHe also worked as a private duty nurse.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Stamford.
Besides her son in Danbury, Mrs. Fulton is survived by a daughter, Joanne Fulton Ruscoe of South Salem, N.Y.; four grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

William Penny
William "Archie" Penny, 74, of Clarksville, Tenn., died Dec. 1, 1998 in Clarksville. He had moved to Tennessee one month ago, had lived in Milford, Pa., for three years. Before that had been a Brewster resident all his life.
He was born in Brewster, N.Y., July 2, 1924, a son of Harry and Edith Gage Penny. He was educated in Brewster schools and was a U.S. Army veteran of WW II.
Mr. Penny was a Life Member of the Brewster Volunteer Fire Dept. He was an electrician and had worked for many years at Casting Corp. and Hipotronics.
He married Mary Blaney in Brewster on March 19, 1949. She died Dec. 11, 1996.
His survivors include three daughters, Gail Mills of Milford, Grace Mosher of Clarksville, and Karen O'Keefe of Lake Ariel, Pa.; a brother, Clarence Penny of Dover Plains, N.Y.; one sister, Harriett Palmer of Lake Carmel, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
Services will be Dec. 5 at noon at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster, N.Y., with the Rev. Kenneth White officiating. Burial in Milltown Rural Cemetery.
Calling hours are Saturday, Dec. 5 from 10 to noon.

Kay Halgowich
Kay Tuz Halgowich, 62, of 14 Tito Lane, New Milford, died Tuesday at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Ms. Halgowich was born in New Milford, June 8, 1936, a daughter of the late Francis P. and Katherine Brown Tuz Sr.
She was a graduate of New Milford High School and had been a secretary at the New Milford Police Department from 1971 to 1996.
A loving mother and steadfast friend, she will be dearly missed by two daughters, Jerri Halgowich of Miami, Fla., and Linda Kelly of New Milford; two brothers, Frank Tuz Jr. of New Milford and Richie Tuz of Texas; and two sisters, Nancy Tuz of New Milford and Janice Kamenoff of Illinois.
Funeral services will be on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford. Interment in St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford.
Friends may call at the Lillis Funeral Home in the hour preceding the service.
Harold W. Ticehurst
Harold W. Ticehurst, age 75, of Vero Beach, Fla., formerly of Brookfield and Bethel, died Monday at Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach. He was the husband of Jacqueline R. Broadbrook Ticehurst.
Mr. Ticehurst was born in Beacon, N.Y., Aug. 19, 1923, a son of the late William Henry and Estella White Ticehurst. He moved to Bethel as a young boy and was a graduate of Bethel High School, Class of 1941, where he was president of his class. He entered the U.S. Army in Feb. 1943, serving in the 104th infantry regiment, in the campaign of southern France, and the Rhineland. Upon his return from the service in 1946 he entered Bentley College and graduated in 1948 with a degree in Accounting.
He was employed by the Danbury Rubber Company, and most recently as the comptroller for Steiner Incorporated of Bethel, retiring in 1988. He was a former realtor for Streaman Real Estate, Bethel.
Mr. Ticehurst was a resident of Brookfield for 36 years, wintering in Vero Beach, until moving there permanently four years ago. A former member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, Bethel and St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Brookfield, he was a current member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Vero Beach. He was a member of the National Accounting Association and Shipper's and Carrier's Association, holding the post of President in both organizations. He was also a member of American Legion Post 39 in Vero Beach.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Carole M. Shuman of Wolcott, Barbara J. Ticehurst of Provincetown, Mass.; two brothers Paul Ticehurst of Danbury, and Donald Ticehurst of Brookfield; two sisters, Ruth Hatch of Brookfield and Esther Shanley of Newtown; three grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews.
