James J. Tsitsos
James J. Tsitsos, 71, a retired accountant, died Tuesday at Northern Westchester Hospital, Mount Kisco, N.Y.
Mr. Tsitsos, of Benedict Road, South Salem, N.Y., was the husband of Katherine Gioles Tsitsos. He lived in Queens, N.Y., before moving to South Salem 20 years ago.
He was born in Detroit, Mich., Sept. 17, 1926, a son of John and Pauline Katerlis Tsitsos.
A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army Air Forces.
He was a graduate of the Baruch School of Business of the City University of New York.
Before his retirement, Mr. Tsitsos was employed by the Bankers Trust Company of New York.
He attended the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church of Danbury.
Besides his wife, his survivors include a son, John G. Tsitsos of New York, N.Y.; a brother, Nicholas Travis of Montclair, Mich.; and a sister, Maria Musik of Ravenswood, W. Va.
CALLING HOURS: Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Ave., Danbury. The Trisagion prayer service will be conducted at 6:30 p.m.

Frank P. Berte
Frank P. ``Butch'' Berte, 48, a computer programmer and consultant, died Tuesday at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Berte lived at 3 Cardinal Lane in New Milford for two years. Previously he was a Danbury area resident for eight years.
He was born in Mount Kisco, N.Y., July 18, 1949, a son of Thomas and Catherine Amuso Berte. He was a graduate of St. Thomas School in Pleasantville, N.Y.
Mr. Berte was employed for 23 years as a computer programmer with IBM. For the past two years, he was a consultant with Keane, Inc., of Fishkill, N.Y.
He attended St. Joseph's Church in Brookfield.
His survivors include a son, Nicholas Berte of Brookfield; two daughters, Erin Berte and Tricia Berte, both also of Brookfield; a brother, Thomas R. Berte of Bethel; a sister, Catherine Bonuomo of White Plains, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
CALLING HOURS: Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.

Dorothy G. Chandler
Dorothy G. Chandler, 85, a retired reporter for the Acorn Press of Ridgefield, died Tuesday at the Laurelwood Rehabilitation Center in Ridgefield.
An area resident for the past 48 years, Mrs. Chandler lived at 25 Gilbert St., Ridgefield. She was the wife of the late Theodore Chase Chandler.
She was born in Leavenworth, Kan., Sept. 11, 1912, a daughter of Otto and Mary Jane Geisler. She attended Leavenworth schools and the Kansas State Teachers College.
Mrs. Chandler lived in Newport, R.I., before moving to Ridgefield.
She was a member of the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church of Ridgefield.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by a son, Donald Chandler of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands; and a granddaughter.

Tomlinson Wells
Tomlinson Wells, 84, a former Brewster resident, died February 10 at White Oak Estates in Spartanburg, S.C.
A resident of North Carolina since his retirement, Mr. Wells was the husband of Elizabeth Downer Wells. He was predeceased by his first wife, Ruth Wing Wells.
He was a graduate of the Hotchkiss School and Yale College.
A was an Army veteran of World War II.
Before his retirement, Mr. Wells was employed by the Textile Banking Company and the Greenwich Research Corporation.
Besides his wife, Mr. Wells is survived by a son, Thomas of Charlotte, N.C.; a sister, Virginia Schwartz of New Bern, N.C.; and three brothers, Alfred of the Canary Islands, Frank of Charlottesville, Va.; and Crosby of Salisbury.
SERVICES: March 14 at 3 p.m., a memorial service at Milltown Cemetery, Brewster.
Bennett H. Short Sr.
Bennett H. Short Sr., a native of Bethel and a retired employee of the Risdon Manufacturing Co. in Danbury, died Monday in Rockledge, Fla.
A resident of Cocoa Beach, Fla., since 1991, he was the husband of Louise Hoyt Short.
He was born in Bethel in 1911. He was a graduate of Phillips Exeter Academy and attended Yale University.
A lifetime member of St. Thomas Episcopal Church, he was an acolyte, choir member and parish clerk.
Besides his wife, Mr. Short is survived by two sons, Bennett of Hollis, N.H., and David of Newtown; a daughter, Margaret Howe of Rockledge, Fla.; six grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
Francis Ginty
Francis Patrick Ginty of Annapolis, Md., formerly of Danbury, died Wednesday at Annapolis Hospital. He was 69.
Mr. Ginty was the husband of Aileen (Hagan) Ginty.
He was born in Danbury, June 20, 1928, a son of the late Patrick and Mary Keane Ginty. He was a graduate of St. Peter School and Danbury High School and he was a graduate of the University of Connecticut.
He was a claim supervisor for Aetna Insurance Co. in its Trumbull office before retiring. He lived in Fairfield before moving to Annapolis just over a year ago.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, David of Columbia, Md., and Mark of Bridgeport; a daughter, Kellianne Shackelford of Frazer, Pa.; a sister, Winifred Turgeon of Danbury; six grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Styntje Cooper
Styntje Cooper of Bethel died Wednesday at Danbury Hospital. She was 72.
Mrs. Cooper was the wife of Le land E. Cooper.
She was born in Gasst, Nether lands, June 8, 1925, a daughter of the late Ike and Engeltje DeBoer. She moved to the United States in 1929. Formerly of Harmony, N.J., she lived in Bethel for the past 26 years.
She was a member of the Bethel Historical Society.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Cooper is survived by a son, Ron Cooper of Sherman; two daughters, Catherine Balduino of Washington, N.J., and Linda Cooper of Middlebury; a brother, John Deboer of Bangor, Pa.; two sisters, Eva Mensch of Bangor, Pa., and Emma Brandt of Columbia, N.J.; and five grandchildren.

Sylvia Jasmin
Calling hours for Sylvia L. Jasmin of New Milford are from 6 to 8 tonight at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford. Services are at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow, also at the funeral home.
Mrs. Jasmin died Wednesday at New Milford Hospital at the age of 70.

Elizabeth M. Newman
Elizabeth M. Inderdohnen Newman, 70, mother of Joan K. Oldham of Bethel, died Monday in Yale New Haven Hospital.
She was the wife of William M. Newman of Fairfield.
Born in Carona, N.Y., she graduated from Roger Ludlowe High School and attended Virginia Intermont College.
A resident of Fairfield for 60 years, she was a retired employee of Fleet Bank, a member of St. Pius X Church of Fairfield and a volunteer with Operation Hope.
Besides her husband and daughter, Joan, she is survived by two other sons, William of Landenberg, Pa., and Christopher of Shelton; a daughter, Lizbeth M. Hollopter of Eaton Rapids, Mich.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews.

Judith Lyons
Judith Godin Lyons of Mill Plain Road, Danbury, died Thursday at Danbury Hospital. She was 50.
Mrs. Lyons was born in Lowell, Mass., Sept. 5, 1947, a daughter of Mildred Wyman Godin of Danbury and the late Alfred Godin. She was a Danbury resident most of her life and a graduate of Danbury High School. She worked as a nurse's aide.
Besides her mother, she is survived by a son, Edward Lyons of Sedona, Ariz.; a daughter, Carrie Milligan of Tarrytown, N.Y.; a sister, Beverly Ellis of Danbury; and three nieces.

Robert G. Pike
Robert G. Pike, 83, father of Barbara Miner of Newtown, died Sunday in Newport, Vt.
A resident of Vermont since 1979, Mr. Pike lived at Dane Hill Road in West Charleston. He was born in the Ivoryton section of Essex, Conn., on June 3, 1914, a son of Robert G. and Hazel Buckley Pike.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.
Before his retirement in 1979, Mr. Pike was a welder and motorcycle dealer for Pike's Cycles in Ivoryton. He was an avid motorcyclist until the spring of 1997.
Besides his daughter in Newtown, Mr. Pike is survived by three sons, Robert Pike of Essex, Thomas Pike of Chester and Daniel Pike of Ivoryton; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Eugenie Wolf
Eugenie Wolf, 72, a founding member of the Westchester Studio Artists in Chappaqua and the Chappaqua Artists Guild, died Friday at Laurelwood Care Center in Ridgefield.
Mrs. Wolf, of 60 Ridgewood Road, Ridgefield, was the wife of Arnold S. Wolf. A resident of Ridgefield for the past seven years, she previously lived in Chappaqua, N.Y.
She was born in New York City on Nov. 21, 1925, a daughter of Alexander and Eva Brown Rimberg.
After receiving her bachelor's degree from Brooklyn College, she did graduate work in art at New York University.
Most recently, Mrs. Wolf taught art in mixed mediums including ceramics to senior citizens at the Fox Center in Mount Kisco. Mrs. Wolf taught there while her mother was a student.
She was a member of Temple Shearith Israel in Ridgefield. She was also a member of the Ridgefield Guild of Artists, the Ridgefield Community Center, and the American Association of University Women. She was also a member of the Aldrich Museum in Ridgefield where she was active as a docent.
Besides her husband of 49 years, Mrs. Wolf is survived by two sons, Michael E. Wolf of Rehovot, Israel, and Andrew N. Wolf of Tahoe City, Calif.; a daughter, Susan W. Hovey of Brewster; two sisters, Carolyn Malesco of Sandwich, Mass., and Barbara Keil of Denver, Colo.; and four grandchildren.

Nancy M. See
Nancy M. See, 65, a homemaker and resident of Brewster for the past 40 years, died Saturday at Northern Westchester Hospital Center, Mount Kisco, N.Y.
Mrs. See was the wife of Arthur See, whom she married on Aug. 18, 1950.
She was born in Mount Kisco on April 5, 1932, a daughter of Lawrence and Inez Lent Partelow. She graduated from schools in Pleasantville, N.Y.
Besides her husband, Mrs. See is survived by a son, Raymond See of Patterson, N.Y.; a daughter, Marie Brunner of Baltimore, Md.; a brother, Lawrence Partelow Jr. of Hawthorne, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.

William B. Parnell II
William B. Parnell II, 45, an employee of Vectron Labs, died Friday as a result of injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.
Mr. Parnell lived at 27 Crows Nest Lane, Danbury.
Born in Greenwich on Dec. 30, 1952, he was a son of William H. and Alta Benson Parnell.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Parnell was a member of the Innovators Club of Danbury and assisted in producing a show on cable TV.
His survivors include his wife, Linda Sacrison Parnell of Riverside, Conn.; a son, David William Parnell of Riverside; a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth Parnell, also of Riverside; two sisters, Lori Burke of Norwalk and Alice Timmerman of Greenwich; a brother, Frederick William Parnell of Byram, Conn.; several nieces and nephews; and several grandnieces and grandnephews.
