Anna A. Keane
Anna A. Keane, 94, a teacher for 48 years mostly in Danbury schools, died Thursday in Pope John Paul II Health Care Center in Danbury.
Miss Keane was a former resident of Osborne Street, Danbury.
Born in Danbury, March 23, 1904, she was a daughter of Michael and Winifred Kilcoyne Keane.
Miss Keane graduated from Danbury High School in 1921. She received a degree from Danbury Normal School in 1923 and a master's degree from Columbia University.
She began her teaching career in the Norwalk and Ridgefield school systems, but spent most of her career at New Street School and South Street School in Danbury. She taught from 1923 until her retirement in 1971.
Miss Keane was a member of St. Joseph Church, the American Association of Retired Persons, Northern Fairfield County Retired Teachers and the Association of Retired Teachers of Connecticut.
Survivors include a brother, Augustine M. Keane of Margate, Fla.; four nieces, Patricia Herdman of Brewster, N.Y., Barbara Whitlock of Danbury, and Mary Lou Stapleberg and Frances Watts, both of Florida; and a nephew, Michael Keane of California.

Ella A. Salnitis
Ella A. Salnitis, a retired surgical assembler for the Davis & Geck Corporation in Danbury, died Wednesday in Danbury Hospital. She was 91.
Mrs. Salnitis, wife of the late Vilmars Salnitis, had been living with her daughter, Edite Mei, at 117 Old Hawleyville Road in Bethel.
She was born in Riga, Latvia, Dec. 1, 1906, and was educated there. She came to this country in 1949 and lived in Bethel since 1952.
Mrs. Salnitis worked at Davis & Geck for 15 years. She was a member of the Latvian Lutheran Church in New York City.
Besides her daughter, she is survived by a son, Andy Salnitis of Newtown;three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
There are no calling hours.
Services will be private and cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
The Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St. Danbury, is in charge of arrangements.
Robert H. Maloy
Robert H. Maloy, 76, a former longtime resident of Redding, died Thursday at ManorCare Health Services in Chambersburg, Pa.
Mr. Maloy, of Fayetteville, Pa., was the husband of Agnes Everett Maloy.
He was born in Staten Island, N.Y., July 23, 1921, a son of Edward J. and Mabel Love Maloy.
After graduating from LaSalle Military Academy on Long Island, N.Y., he attended Manhattan College in New York City for four years and later graduated from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy, New London, and served in the U.S. Coast Guard.
Before his 1984 retirement, Mr. Maloy had been part-owner since 1946 of the family owned Bertschmann and Maloy Insurance Agency in Staten Island.
Following his retirement, he worked for five years in the accounting department of the Pope John Paul Center for Health Care in Danbury.
While living in Redding, Mr. Maloy was very involved in community affairs. He was active in various school-related organizations and civic groups and had served as treasurer of the Mark Twain Library.
He was an avid golfer and enjoyed boating.
Besides his wife of 51 years, he is survived by a son, Steven Maloy of Danvers, Mass.; a daughter, Catherine Maloy of Ridgefield; two brothers, Edward J. Maloy II and John F. Maloy, both of Staten Island; a sister, Mabel J. Randall; and two grandchildren, Emilie and Brendan Maloy of Massachusetts. Mr. Maloy was predeceased by two sons, Timothy and Michael Maloy.

Irving R. Conboy
Irving R. Conboy, 92, a retired printer and former Kent resident, died Saturday at his home on Bulls Bridge Road, Dover, N.Y.
Mr. Conboy was born March 25, 1906, in New York City, a son of William J. and Agnes Durning Conboy.
Before his retirement, he had owned and operated the Conboy Printing Co. in New York for many years.
Mr. Conboy had lived in New York City for many years before moving to Kent in 1968. He moved to Dover in 1986.
He is survived by three sons, Irving H. Conboy of Southfields, N.Y., William J. Conboy of Flemington, N.J., and Jeffrey Conboy of Kent; three daughters, Dolores Turner of New Milford, Charlotte Barnes of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Diane Snook of Arizona; a stepson, Richard Pedersen of Amherst, N.Y.; 15 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
CALLING HOURS: Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford.
SERVICES: Graveside services will take place Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Mount Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y.
Helene Schirrmeister
Helene Schirrmeister, 92, a resident of New Fairfield for 50 years, died Friday at her home.
Mrs. Schirrmeister was the wife of the late Werner Schirrmeister.
She was born in Nurtingen, Germany, June 23, 1905, a daughter of Gottlibb and Marie Schach Dolde. She moved to the United States from Germany 75 years ago.
During the 1950s, Mrs. Schirrmeister was a member of the Board of Education. She was also a member of the Service Club of New Fairfield.
She is survived by a daughter, Karen Schirrmeister, with whom she recently made her home in New Fairfield; a sister, Anna Bucher of Clifton/Bloomfield, N.J.; four nieces; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

WELSH
Raymond L. Welsh, 85, of Claremont Ave., Danbury, husband of the late Kathryn McLoughlin Welsh, died unexpectedly at Syracuse University Hospital, Syracuse, N.Y., on May 18, 1998. He was born in Canada, Nov. 8, 1912, son of the late Patrick and Katherine Flanagan Welsh. He came to the United States as a child and lived in Astoria and Flushing, N.Y., prior to moving to Danbury four years ago. Mr. Welsh was a retired New York City firefighter. He was also an avid fisherman and outdoorsman, active in his church and devoted to his family. Mr. Welsh is survived by two daughters, Katherine Welsh of Danbury and Maureen Leopold of Brookfield; four sons, Raymond of Boca Raton, Fla., Patrick of Youngsville, N.Y., Michael of Kenya and William of Westtown, NY; 12 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be from the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Friday at 9:30 a.m. and to St. Joseph's Church at 10 a.m. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will take place in Mt. JOHNSON
Aaron Webb Johnson, Jr., 60, of Wooster Street, Bethel, died Monday at Bridgeport Hospital. Mr. Johnson was born in Islip, N.Y., March 14, 1938, son of Aaron W. Sr. and Bernice A. Johnson, both of Fairfield, Conn. He was a Bethel resident most of his life and he worked for the Vanderbilt Chemical Company in Bethel for over 10 years and was a police officer for the Town of Bethel. Survivors also include four sons, Aaron Lee Johnson of Bethel, Dale Robert Johnson of Newtown, Kevin Murphy and Karl Murphy both of Danbury; a sister, Shirley F. Johnson of Montgomery, Ala.; his longtime companion Joyce Hynes of Bethel; and six grandchildren. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice. The funeral will be held at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, Thursday at 8 p.m. Cremation will be in Ferncliff Crematory, Hartsdale, N.Y. The family will receive friends at the Hull Home, Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
HINES
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., July 30, 1950, a daughter of Jean Ciaccia Forgione of New Fairfield and the late Ralph L. Forgione. Mrs. Hines moved to New Fairfield from Queens, N.Y. in 1982, and was the coordinator of Dental Services at Danbury Hospital since 1985. She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church. Besides her mother, she is survived by her children, Jamie and Jennifer Hines of New Fairfield; sisters Filomena Lemonis of New City, N.Y., Sofia Forgione and Anne Forgione, both of Queens,; nephews Thomas, Christopher and Stephen Lemonis; mother-in-law Beatrice Head; sisters-in-law Beatrice Hines and Marie Mirabella; and brothers-in-law Frank and Eugene Hines, Nick Lemonis and Ben Bennir. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield, Friday at noon. Cremation will take place at Mountain Grove Crematory, Bridgeport. W. F. McCarthy D.D.S.
Dr. William F. McCarthy, 71, a retired dentist, died Monday at Danbury Hospital.
Dr. McCarthy, of 2 Dixon Road, Danbury, was the husband of V. Joyce Krimbill McCarthy.
He was born in Danbury, Feb. 1, 1927, a son of John P. and Elizabeth Kratz McCarthy. He attended St. Peter School and was a 1945 graduate of Danbury High School. He attended the University of Miami and the University of Louisville and was a graduate of Danbury Teachers College with a bachelor's degree in education. He later attended Fairfield University where he was awarded a master's degree in education.
A veteran of World War II, he served in the U. S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Greyhound and the U.S.S. Indiana.
Dr. McCarthy began a teaching career and taught for five years in Brewster and Fairfield.
He decided to pursue a career in dentistry and graduated from Temple University.
He opened his dental practice the in Germantown section of Danbury in 1961. He retired in 1987.
Dr. McCarthy had been a lifelong Danbury resident until moving to Westerly, R.I., where he lived for nine years. He returned to Danbury a year ago.
He was a member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield.
Besides his wife, Dr. McCarthy is survived by two sons, Kevin J. McCarthy of Gakona, Alaska, and John P. McCarthy of Danbury; two daughters, Maureen M. Wagher and Patricia J. McCarthy, both of Danbury; two sisters, Jane Straiton of Danbury and Marjorie McCarthy of New Milford; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Paul F. Tubridy
Paul F. Tubridy, 65, a retired sales manager, died Monday at his home at 151-A Heritage Village, Southbury.
Mr. Tubridy was the husband of Suzanne Messer Tubridy.
He was born in Buffalo, N.Y., April 9, 1933, a son of John J. and Elizabeth O'Boyle Tubridy. He attended Holy Family Grammar School and Bishop Timon High School in Buffalo. He was a graduate of St. Bonaventure University.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served in the U.S. Army.
During his career in sales, he was employed with the Ford Motor Company, Winnebago Industries, Airstream Trailers, and Light House Motors. He retired as Eastern Sales Manager of Saab-Scania of Orange, Conn.
Mr. Tubridy lived in Hamburg, N.Y., before moving to Southbury.
He was active with youth hockey in both Mason City, Iowa, and Hamburg, N.Y.
While living at Heritage Village, he was a volunteer ambulance driver. He was a member and reader and taught 4th grade C.C.D. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Oxford.
Besides his wife, Mr. Tubridy is survived by two sons, Paul A. Tubridy of Cornwall on Hudson, N.Y., and Daniel Tubridy of Indianapolis, Ind.; two daughters, Karen L. Tubridy of Charlestown, Mass., and Diane M. Tubridy of San Francisco, Calif.; a brother, Raymond L. Tubridy of Oregon, Wis.; and two sisters, Betty E. Kelly of Largo, Fla., and Jeanne T. Dziminski of Orchard Park, N.Y.

Judith Fingado
Judith Sternbach Fingado, 60, an active member of the Ridgefield
community, died Sunday at Laurelwood in Ridgefield.
Mrs. Fingado was the wife of Roger Fingado.
She was born in Manhattan, N.Y., April 24, 1938, a daughter of Sidney and Judith Sternbach. She was a graduate of Bates College.
During her career, Mrs. Fingado worked for Time Life and IBM. She was most recently employed as a secretary at the East Ridge Middle School.
In Ridgefield, she was first vice president and membership chairman of the Ridgefield Woman's Club. Mrs. Fingado volunteered with the American Red Cross blood drives and had been active with the Soccer Club of Ridgefield when her children were young.
Mrs. Fingado's interests included taking care of stray pets, cooking, gardening, and taking cruises throughout the world.
Besides her husband of 27 years, Mrs. Fingado is survived by a daughter, Lucinda Fingado of Woodbury; three sons, Gustav A. Fingado IV of Shrewsbury, N.J., John P. Fingado of Groton, Mass., and Daniel Fingado of Warwick, R.I.; two brothers, Peter and John Sternbach; and two grandchildren, Allison and Melissa.

Larry C. Coultrip
Larry C. Coultrip, 59, a free-lance art designer, died May 10 at his home.
An area resident for 25 years, Mr. Coultrip lived at 4 Camp Flats Road, South Kent.
He was born in Sandusky, Ohio, Dec. 13, 1938, a son of Dorothy Chandler Coultrip of Midland, Mich., and the late Donald Ross Coultrip.
Mr. Coultrip attended Midland ELementary School and Midland High School in Midland, Mich. He also attended Central Michigan University, the Cranbrook School of Design in Michigan, and the Los Angeles Center for Art.
He was a member of the New England M.G. Register and the Danbury Historical Society.
Besides his mother, Mr. Coultrip is survived by a daughter, Christine I. Coultrip-Branson of South Kent; two brothers, Glenn Coultrip of Nevada City, Calif., and Philip Coultrip of Louisville, Ky.; and two sisters, Mary Smith of Midland, Mich., and Janet Purtell of Northville, Mich.
Graveside services will take place in Fitchville Cemetery in Ohio.
