John G. Ulicny
John G. Ulicny, 89, of Stebbins Close, Ridgefield died Wednesday, October 7, 1998 at Mediplex of Danbury.
He was the husband of Anna (Hanko) Ulicny.
Mr. Ulicny was born in Mahanoy, Pa., on February 14, 1909, a son of the late John and Anna Hvisc Ulicny. An employee with the Westchester County Department of Public Works, he retired in 1979.
Mr. Ulicny was a Ridgefield resident for the past 15 years, coming from Yonkers, N.Y. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield.
Besides his wife, survivors include two sons: John of Glendale, Ariz., and Joseph of Roswell, Ga. Three grandchildren: Lisa Ulicny of Greenwich, Conn., Scott Ulicny and Jill Ulicny, both of Roswell, Ga.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.

Florence Lord
Florence Lord, 92, formerly of 27 Center St., Brewster, died Oct. 4, 1998 in the Glen Hill Nursing Center in Danbury where she had been a resident for the past 14 years.
Mrs. Lord was the wife of the late Ralph Lord who died in 1971.
She was born in Brewster, Oct. 28, 1905, a daughter of the late John J. and Florence Samson Fitzmorris. She was a graduate of Brewster schools.
Before her retirement in 1975, Mrs. Lord was a high school English teacher with the Brewster School District for 51 years.
She is survived by a niece, Carol Fagan Earnhardt of Anchorage, Alaska. She was predeceased by her sisters, Ella Fitzmorris in 1991 and Marguerite Fitzmorris in 1986.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Brewster. Burial will be in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Brewster.
Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Avenue, Brewster.

Raymond S. Mann
Raymond S. Mann, age 90, of Venice, Fla., formerly of Danbury, died at the Danbury Hospital on Tuesday. He was the husband of the late Louise (Loewe) Mann.
Mr. Mann was born in West Bridgewater, Mass., August 6, 1908, a son of the late Ralph H. and Mabel (Simmons) Mann. He attended Dalton (Mass.) High School, Class of 1925, and the University of Massachusetts, Class of 1930. While at the University of Massachusetts, Mr. Mann served as Class President from 1928 thru 1930, was the captain of its football team, and a member of its basketball team.
Mr. Mann was employed by the Barden Corporation of Danbury, as the Vice President of Employee Relations, retiring in 1973 after 30 years of service. He was a 60-year member of the First Congregational Church of Danbury, the Ridgewood Country Club, and the Yacaranda Country Club, Venice, Fla.
Mr. Mann formerly held positions on the Danbury Board of Aldermen, of which he held the post of its last President, as well as the post of the first President of the Danbury Combined Common Council. He was a former member of the Board of Tax Review, and former President of the Danbury Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Mann was former President of the Connecticut Personnel Association, and a former member of the Connecticut State Board of Arbitration and Mediation. He was a former member of the Union Savings Bank Board of Trustees.
Mr. Mann is survived by one son: Charles R. Mann, of Southbury, two daughters: Jean M. Long of Manchester, and Barbara M. Bigham, of Newtown, six grandchildren: Katherine Bigham Pino, of Brookfield, Douglas K. Bigham, of Arlington, Mass., Steven C. Bigham, of Newtown, Raymond H. Long, of Greenwood, Ind., Jonathon M. Long, of St. Louis, Mo., Jeffrey C. Mann, of Southbury, and five great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 17, at the Hull Home, Sixty Division Street, Danbury, at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Robert Naylor, of the First Church of Christ, Simsbury, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m.
Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to the charity of one's choice.
Shane N. Hotchkiss
Shane N. Hotchkiss, age 24, formerly of River Rd., New Milford, Conn., died at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, Texas, after a long illness. He was born in Danbury June 15, 1974 son of Gary A. Hotchkiss of Danbury and Theresa Ann Rodrigues Kelly of Bennington, Vt. He attended Danbury Schools and worked at Burger King in New Milford.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandmother, Georgette Belot of Bethel, Conn. and his maternal grandmother, Barbara Millard of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; his brother, Joshua of Chatham, N.Y.; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be conducted from the Cornell Memorial Home on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. with Rev. Clare Ingham officiating. Burial will be in Bethel, Conn.
Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Brian W. Frank
Brian W. Frank died Oct. 14, 1998 at his home at 46 Hop Brook Rd., Brookfield at the age of 57. He was the husband of Peggy Shaw Frank. He was born in the Bronx, N.Y., April 5, 1941, son of the late William and Margaret Finn Frank. He attended New York Schools and settled in Brookfield 25 years ago from Mt. Vernon, N.Y. He was a truck driver for Quebecor Modern Printing Co. in Brookfield. He previously worked for UPS in Brookfield as a mechanic maintenance personnel. He was a member of the Teamsters Union.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his son Brian Jr. of Brookfield and his daughter Dawn Noone of Orlando, Fla. and 2 grandchildren. He is also survived by his three brothers; Richard W. of Nanuet, N.Y., Gary W. of Myrtle Beach, S.C. and Russell J. of New Rochelle, N.Y. and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd., Brookfield on Sat. at 11 a.m. with Rev. Frederick Marcoux, Pastor of Prince of Peace Church. Burial will be in Prince of Peace Cemetery, Brookfield.

Walter S. Boughton
Walter S. Boughton, 81, of Port St. Lucie, Fla., formerly of Danbury, died on Oct. 4, 1998 at his home.
Mr. Boughton was born in Danbury, Conn, on June 5, 1917, a son of the late Walter S. Sr. and Helen E. (DuFault) Boughton. He attended Danbury schools, the Admiral Farragut Preparatory Academy, and the Coast Guard Academy. Mr. Boughton was a self-employed plumbing contractor. He was a member of the Progressive Lodge of I.O.O.F.
Survivors include his wife Josephine Boughton of Fla.; two sons, Eugene S. Boughton and his wife Dale of Danbury, S. Sanford Boughton and his wife Susanne of Danbury; four grandchildren, Matthew and his wife Wendy of Clemmons, N.C.; Laura Schechter and her husband Jay of Danbury; Jennifer Kochert and her husband Sean of Doylestown, Pa.; Heather Griner and her husband Joseph of New Britain; three great-grandchildren, one brother, Lawrence of Brookfield, and several nieces and nephews.
Cremation took place in Florida.

Benjamin Razza
Mr. Benjamin Razza, 98, of 11 Fox Run, Woodbury, died Wednesday, Oct. 14, at Ashlar of Newtown. He was the husband of Carmela (D'Alberto) Razza.
Mr. Razza was born June 9, 1900, in Sicily, Italy, son of the late Francisco and Mariantonia (Campione) Razza. Formerly of Queens, N.Y., he moved to Woodbury in 1997. He retired in 1965 as a cabinetmaker for Bloomingdale's in New York City. He was a veteran of World War I, serving in the Italian Army, and he loved opera.
Besides his wife of 60 years, he leaves one daughter, Marie A. Finamore of Woodbury, two grandchildren, Frank Finamore of Queens, N.Y. and Suzanne Gagne of Newtown; and four great-grandchildren, Vickie and Chrissy Finamore of Queens, and Madeleine and Lauren Gagne of Newtown.
Funeral mass Friday, Oct. 16, at 10 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial will follow in Pinelawn Memorial Park, Farmingdale, N.Y.

Mary Gay Broadhurst
Mary Gay Broadhurst, 96, a lifelong resident of Ridgefield, died on Monday, October 12 at the Laurelwood in Ridgefield, after an extended illness. She was the wife of the late Elbert "Al" C. Broadhurst, who died in 1970.
Mrs. Broadhurst was born in Ridgefield at the Gay Homestead on November 23, 1902, a daughter of the late Ulysses and Olive Gilbert Gay.
She attended school in Ridgefield and worked on a farm. She later did domestic work for various local families. Mrs. Broadhurst was a member of the Mary Rebekah Lodge, formerly in Ridgefield.
Survivors include her son, David A. Broadhurst of Ridgefield; four daughters, Dorothy Enquist of Georgetown, Nora Potenziani of Kissimmee Beach, Fla., Edith Jamroga of Ridgefield, and Janet Ossendryver of Boynton Beach, Fla.; one brother, James Edwin Gay of Bethel; 19 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Broadhurst was predeceased by a daughter, Mary Alice Mead, five brothers and one sister.
Services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in Stevens Memorial United Methodist Church, 8 Shady Lane, South Salem, N.Y. The Rev. Harold Quigley, Pastor, will officiate. The interment will follow in the family plot in Bald Hill Cemetery, Wilton.

Lucille L. Ryan
Lucille L. Ryan, 83, of Cook Close, Ridgefield, died on Wednesday morning at her home.
She was the wife of the late Joseph O'Neill and the late Edward Ryan.
Mrs. Ryan was born in New York, New York, December 12, 1914, a daughter of the late Walter and Mary (Grossman) Smith. She attended New York schools and had been employed by the R.H. Macy Co. as a member of their security division retiring in 1980.
A resident of Ridgefield for the past seven years coming from the Bronx, New York, she was a member of the Casagmo Senior Citizens group and of St. Mary's Church.
As a resident of the Bronx, she was a member of St. Lucy's Church and of its St. Anne's Guild.
She is survived by a daughter; Eileen Jansen of Ridgefield, a step-son; Edward Ryan of Newark, New Jersey and two grandchildren; Svend Patrick Jansen of Ridgefield and Geoffrey Ryan of Seattle.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 1998, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, Ridgefield.
Burial will follow in St. Raymond's Cemetery, the Bronx, New York.

Gertrude Pecco
Gertrude "Trudy" (Boydos) Pecco, 55, of 51 Juniper Rd., Bethel, wife of Frank Pecco, died at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday.
She was born in Stamford, Oct. 5, 1942, a daughter of the late John and Josephine (Klesnik) Boydos. she was a graduate of Stamford High School and attended WesConn University.
Mrs. Pecco worked as an office manager for the Fujitsu Corp. of Danbury, for more than seventeen years.
She enjoyed knitting, sewing and cross stitching for her family and grandchildren.
She moved from Stamford to Bethel, where she has been a resident for the past twenty six years.
Besides her husband of twenty eight years, she is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jay and Seton Silver of Brookfield, a stepson, Robert Baker of California, a sister, Carole Rasberry of Oxford, a niece, Christine Kestenbaum of Fairfield, her grandchildren, Andrew, Megan and Emily Silver of Brookfield and three step grandchildren, of California.
Funeral services will be held at the Walnut Hill Community Church, Bethel, on Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in the Bethel Center Section at Elmwood Cemetery, Bethel.

Sara A. Taylor
Sara A. Taylor, age 89, of 33 Lincoln Ave., Danbury, formerly of George St., died Tuesday at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care.
Ms. Taylor was born in Danbury, May 18, 1909, a daughter of the late William C. and Bessie Gaines Taylor. She was a Danbury resident all her life, attending New Street School and graduating from Danbury High School. She worked at the Bard-Parker Company as a secretary for 30 years before her retirement in 1971. She was also a member of St. James Episcopal Church.
Ms. Taylor is survived by a niece Joan Parker Lyon of Hayden Lake, Idaho and several grand nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held at the Hull Funeral Home, Sixty Division Street, Danbury, on Friday at 4 p.m. Cremation will be at the convenience of the family, and her cremains will be placed in the family plot at Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Friends may call at the Hull Home from 3:30 p.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m.
Eleanor Benedikt
Eleanor Benedikt, 92, devoted wife of Frederick Benedikt, of Apt. 103, Birchwood, East Hill Woods, Southbury, died Wednesday at East Hill Woods. Mr. & Mrs. Benedikt had been married for over 67 years, and had been residents of New Fairfield prior to moving to Southbury.
Mrs. Benedikt was born in New York City, February 12, 1906, a daughter of the late Harry and Leah Taylor Oshatz, and was the eldest of 7 siblings. She and her husband purchased their property in New Fairfield in 1954, and became full-time residents in 1971, and were interested in public issues affecting the Town. Mrs. Benedikt was a considerable aide to her husband in assembly and preparation of material on those issues especially during the two decades between 1970-1991.
Besides her husband, she is survived by 2 brothers, Jack & Mack Oshatz, both of Calif., and several nieces and nephews.

Lewis B. Lamporte
WATERTOWN, Conn. - Lewis B. Lamporte, 55 of Wedgewood Dr. died Tuesday at his home. He was the husband of Joan (Barnum) Lamporte.
Mr. Lamporte was born in Danbury October 17, 1942 son of the late Richard T. and Gladys A. (Burton) Lamporte. He was raised in Bethel and graduated from the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy in 1965. He served as a medic in the National Guard. He lived in Watertown for the past 25 years. He retired from March's Pharmacy in Oakville. He was an inspiration to everyone at Choices Mental Health Association and an avid sports enthusiast.
Besides his wife he leaves 1 son Lewis E. Lamporte of Watertown; 2 daughters; Gina M. Morton of Wolcott and Krista L. Tucker of Waterbury; 2 sons-in-law Jason E, Morton III of Wolcott and Dale S. Tucker of Waterbury; 1 brother Richard A. Lamporte of Burke, Va., and several nieces and nephews.

EASTON, Conn. - Doris Keane Pisaretz, age 75, a homemaker, died on Wednesday, September 2, 1998 in her home after a long illness. Born in Bridgeport to the late John F. and Helena Blake Keane, she lived there until 18 years ago when she moved to Easton. She was a graduate of Central High School and Booth & Bayliss Business School. She is survived by her devoted husband of 49 years, Peter Pisaretz of Easton; two sons, James M. Pisaretz of Easton and John N. and his wife, Elizabeth Pisaretz of Black Rock; her daughter, Kathleen A. and her husband, Jay Taylor of Milford and her grandson, MacKenzie Peter Taylor, one sister Betty Ann Keane Ecsedy and her husband, Robert of Newtown and her two sisters-in-law, Barbara Keane of Trumbull and Vera Pisaretz Dubenetsky of Norwalk; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a foster son, Roy Scaturro of Tampa Bay, Fla. Thomas K. Dee
Thomas K. Dee, 54, of West Swanzey, N.H., died at the Veterans Administration Center Hospital in Whiter River Jct., Vt. on Tuesday morning after a long illness. He was born in Keene, N.H. on July 4, 1944 the son of James B. and Catherine M. (White) Dee.
Mr. Dee attended St. Joseph Regional School in Keene and graduated from Stamford Catholic High School in Stamford, Conn. in 1962. He has been a resident of West Swanzey since 1992. He also attended the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, N.Y., and was a professional chef. He had worked at several restaurants in the Keene and Battleboro area in recent years. He was a member of St. Anthony's Parish in West Swanzey, N.H.
He is survived by his mother, Catherine M. Dee of West Swanzey, N.H.; one son, Kevin Johnson of Chesapeake, Va.; and a daughter, Deborah Douglas also of Chesapeake; a brother, John J. B. Dee of Bethel, Conn.; and a sister, Mary Frischkorn of Stamford, Conn. He is also survived by two grandchildren, one niece and five nephews. His father, James B. Dee died in 1992.

Robert C. Kozar
Robert C. Kozar, 63, an Industrial Engineer with Nash Engineering of Monroe, CT for over 40 years, died Sept. 15, 1998 in the Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara (DuLac) Kozar and resided on Bridge End Farm Rd. in Sandy Hook.
He was born in Norwalk March 2, 1935 son of Elizabeth Kozar of Meriden, Conn. and the late George Kozar. He was educated in Norwalk schools and took several college courses in engineering. During the Vietnam War he served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was also a member of the Order of Elks.
He is survived besides his mother and wife by 2 sons Robert W. Kozar of New Milford and Christopher G. Kozar of Bethel, Conn., 1 daughter, Lisa M. Kozar of Danbury. Also 4 grandchildren Daniel, Rachelle, Victoria & Hayley Kozar.

Anne Yuhasik
Anne Yuhasik, 95, of Danbury, died at her home on Wednesday.
Born August 26, 1903, in Danbury, Conn., a daughter of the late Paul and Anne Halapy Yuhasik. Anne graduated from the Stillman Business School, Danbury and from The Foundling School of Nursing in New York. She worked as a private duty pediatric nurse in New York and Connecticut until the age of 85. Anne then became an adult private duty nurse until the age of 92. She was a member of the First Congregational Church, Danbury. She enjoyed knitting.
Anne is survived by two sisters Katherine Yuhasik and Ludmila "Mildred" Yuhasik both of Danbury.
Funeral service will be held Friday at 1 p.m. in the Hull Home, Sixty Division Street, Danbury, Conn. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury. Family will receive friends at the Hull Home one half hour preceding the service.
Clinton R. Stephens Sr.
Clinton R. Stephens, Sr., age 75, husband of Charlotte (Frank) Stephens of 17 Cedar Hill Rd. Newtown died Sept. 16, 1998 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
He was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y., April 4, 1923 son of the late Randolph and Pearl (Sterling) Stephens. A resident of Newtown since 1955, he was last employed at the Dalling Construction Co. in Bridgeport, Conn. He was a former Assistant Engineer & Assistant Chief of the United Fire Co. of Botsford. He was a former scoutmaster for Troop 270 B.S.A. He was a disabled veteran of World War 2, serving in the U.S. Marines. Member of International Union of Operating Engineers -Local 478. Member of the Newtown Congregational Church.
He is survived besides his wife and by 2 sons, Victor R. Stephens and his wife Ruth of Monroe, and Clinton R. Stephens Jr. of Newtown. 4 sisters Gloria Mix of Monroe, Audrey Albright and Constance Beardsley both of Shelton, and Lois Tabor of Cantonment, Fla., 2 step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Kathleen F. Kay
Kathleen Finn Kay, 56, a former longtime resident of Redding, died Monday (Sept. 21) at her home in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
Mrs. Kay, a previous employee at Filene's Department Store in Trumbull from 1981 until she moved to South Carolina in 1997, was also involved in the American Field Service Program sponsored by Joel Barlow High School in Redding.
She was born on June 30, 1942 in Chicago, a daughter of the late Robert and Elizabeth Carroll Finn. A graduate of the College of St. Elizabeth, Convent Station, New Jersey in 1964 with a B.A. in sociology, she then became involved as a Social Worker with the Catholic Charities in Stamford, Conn.
In addition to her husband, Oleg Kay, she is survived by two sons, Scott Kay Ellison of New York City and Kenneth Kay, a recent graduate of the University of New Hampshire; one daughter, Kimberly Kay, a Peace Corps Volunteer in Mali, West Africa. Mrs. Kay was also predeceased by a son, Jonathan Kay, in April 1998. Also surviving her are three brothers, the Rev. Robert Finn, S.J. of Chicago, David Finn of Zebulon, N.C., and Joseph Finn of Milwaukee, Wisc.; and several nieces and nephews.

Margot R. Annusson, 74, a resident of Katonah, N.Y., for the past 41 years, died Sept. 19 in Redding, Conn.
Mrs. Annusson was the wife of the late Evald Annusson who died in 1995.
Born in Germany, April 23, 1924, she was a daughter of Mohrs and Martha Eckardt. She moved to the United States in 1935 and settled in New York City.
Mrs. Annusson was a bookkeeper for DeMarsico Pontiac in Brewster for 10 years. She had previously been employed at Arrowag Chevrolet in Katonah, N.Y.
She was a member of Lewisboro Senior Citizens. She was also a longtime member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Mt. Kisco, N.Y.
Survivors include two daughters, Karen Russo of Redding and Sandra Nelson of Danbury; and six grandchildren.
Services took place in the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Mt. Kisco.

Mary Frann
dead at 55
BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. (AP) - Mary Frann, who played Bob Newhart's wife on TV's "Newhart," died yesterday at 55.
Frann died at her home. The cause of death wasn't immediately known.
On "Newhart," which ran on CBS for eight years, she played Joanna Louden, who with her husband ran a bed-and-breakfast in New England.
She also starred in the ABC series "Kings Crossing" and in the Jackie Collins miniseries "Lucky Chances" on NBC, and played Amanda Peters for four years on NBC's "Days of Our Lives."
She appeared in the TV movies "Fatal Charm," "Single Women, Married Men," "Eight is Enough: A Family Reunion" and "The Hitchhiker."
Born in St. Louis, Frann studied drama at Northwestern University and worked as weather reporter for the NBC station in St. Louis. Robert F. Quinlan
Robert F. Quinlan, 66, of 216 Middle River Road, Danbury, died Wednesday at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Quinlan was born in Danbury, October 13, 1931, a son of the late Robert and Evelyn Mallett Quinlan. He had been a veteran of service with the United States Army during the Korean War. He began his working career as a hatter, and later associated with the former National Can Company, in Danbury, and was a production foreman at the time of his retirement in 1995.
Mr. Quinlan is survived by his son, Jeremy Quinlan, of Danbury, and was predeceased by his son Jason, in 1992.
A funeral will be held at The Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main St., Danbury, on Friday at 8 p.m. Friends will be received at The Homestead after 6 p.m. on Friday.
