Judson G. Hyde
Judson G. Hyde, 90, of Hollis, N.H., former resident of Brookfield died at home on February 3rd following a short illness. He was the husband of Elaine J. Hyde.
Mr. Hyde, born May 7, 1909 in Davenport, Iowa, was the eldest son of George Warner Hyde and Nellie Mary Smith Hyde. Mr. Hyde graduated from Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven and Quinnipiac College. In 1944 he received his CPA certificate and worked for SNET, Firestone Corp. and Sperry Products in Danbury. In 1959 Mr. Hyde became CFO of Burns and Roe Corp. in New York City where he traveled worldwide in the development of the Mercury space tracking stations. In 1966 he formed his own public accounting firm in Brookfield and Danbury. Following several mergers, he was Partner in Charge of the Danbury office of KPMG Peat Marwick until his retirement in 1977. He was appointed to the State Board of Accountancy where he served until 1989.
After moving to Brookfield in 1951, Mr. Hyde held a wide array of public service positions including a long tenure on the Brookfield Board of Finance and founding incorporator of Danbury Health Systems, Inc. He was also an active Mason, a Shriner and Danbury Rotarian and was a longtime member of various professional organizations including IMA, CSCPA, AICPA. Additionally, Mr. Hyde was an active member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield, holding various positions as well as longtime choir member.
In 1998 Mr. Hyde moved to Hollis, N.H. where he was a member of the Congregational Church of Hollis.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his three daughters and one son: Judith Kaufman of Norwalk, Barbara Sands and her husband, Larry of Bernville, Pa., Virginia Wood and her husband, Richard of Boca Raton, Fla. and Christopher Hyde and his wife, Dorothy of Hollis, N.H.; as well as five grandchildren. He was predeceased by his brother, Albert Hyde of Charlotte, N.C.
A memorial service and burial of the cremains will be held at the Congregational Church of Brookfield Saturday, February 12 at 11 a.m.

Anthony DaCunha
Anthony DaCunha, age 80, of West Palm Beach, Fla., formerly of Bethel, died Saturday, Jan. 22 in West Palm Beach. He was the husband of Priscilla Ferriera DaCunha, his wife of 58 years.
Mr. DaCunha was born in Pawtucket, R.I., October 30, 1919, a son of the late Manuel Adelino and Maria Bernardino DaCunha. He came to the Danbury-Bethel area as a young boy attending local schools, including WesConn. He was a resident of Bethel for 32 years before moving to West Palm Beach in 1987.
Tony served in WWII as a Naval Radioman on the U.S.S New Jersey in the Pacific Theatre. After the war he worked as a hatter at several local hat factories. In addition, he worked for Castro Convertible in Danbury, before becoming manager of the Wilton branch of Shepard's Warehouse. He retired in 1981.
He was a founding and longtime member of the Sons of Portugal Band in Danbury and was a very active member of the Portuguese community. Tony was a member of the Bethel Planning and Zoning Commission for 12 years and was its Chairman for 4 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 3 sons, Anthony DaCunha Jr. of Danbury, Daniel DaCunha of Bedminster, Penn., Phillip DaCunha of Lake Worth, Fla.; a daughter, Christine Rubinow of Danbury; 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Interment will be in St. Peter's Cemetery at the convenience of the family.

John E. McBrian
John E. McBrian, Heritage Village, husband of Frances (Dale) McBrian, died Sunday afternoon at Mediplex. He was 81 years old.
Mr. McBrian was born in Whitestone, N.Y. son of the late Welford and Ingrid (Smerling) McBrian. He attended local schools earning his degree in engineering from Bucknell and a degree in nuclear physics from Columbia. He retired from American Standard as an electrical engineer after 26 years, moving to Heritage Village from Spring Lake, N.J. He enjoyed singing in many church choirs and was an avid yachtsman and collector of stamps, coins and books.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Wayne McBrian of Mount Vernon, N.H. and a son John McBrian Jr. of Eugene, Ore., a daughter Donna Landi of Wyckoff, N.J., a brother Merritt McBrian of Lee, Mass. and seven grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at Shelter Island Presbyterian Cemetery of Shelter Island, N.Y. The Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North is in charge of arrangements.

James Donald Ingoldsby
James Donald Ingoldsby, 61, of 108 Limestone Road, Ridgefield, died Sunday at his home after an extended illness. He was the husband of Donna M. (Crowinshield) Ingoldsby.
Mr. Ingoldsby was born in Bristol, Tenn. on Oct. 24, 1938, a son of the late James F. and Cornelia Forgey Ingoldsby. He attended the Virginia Technical Institute and was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served with the Navy.
An IBM employee for the past 27 years, Mr. Ingoldsby was a Network Architect at the time of his death. A 32nd Degree Mason, Mr. Ingoldsby was also active with the Ridgefield Jaycees. He was an avid sailor and skier, and also previously active in his daughter's sports activities.
Besides his wife, survivors include two daughters: Jamie Ingoldsby-Gillotti of Ridgefield and Brandy Ingoldsby of Ridgefield. One granddaughter: Morrigan Gillotti of Ridgefield also survives.
Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, Ridgefield wit the Rev. Randy Day, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Edna A. Cooper
Mrs. Edna A. (George) Cooper, 76, of Heritage Crest, wife of Gordon Cooper, died Monday, February 7, at the Mediplex of Southbury.
Mrs. Cooper was born November 16, 1923, in Danbury, daughter of Freda (Andrews) George of Rhode Island and the late Abraham George. A retired registered nurse, Mrs. Cooper graduated from the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing in 1947 and worked at several area hospitals. She was a member of the Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing Alumni Association, the Waterbury Country Club and the P.G.A. National Country Club, and was a volunteer for the Red Cross.
Mrs. Cooper was a communicant of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Woodbury.
Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by a son, Gordon Cooper Jr. of Waterbury; a daughter, Jan-Louise Leonard of North Andover, MA; a brother, Edward George of Rhode Island; and two grandsons, Michael and Mark.
Calling hours will be held Friday, February 11, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Southbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, 235 Main St. North, Route 6.
A funeral service, at the funeral home, will follow the calling hours at 7 p.m. Burial will be in the New North Cemetery, Woodbury, in the spring.

Doris Blackman
The death of Doris A. Darcy Blackman, 49, of Candlewood Vista, New Milford, occurred at the New Milford Hospital Tuesday morning. She was the wife of David D. Blackman.
Born in Beacon, N.Y., January 1, 1951, daughter of the late Charles and Julia "Bonnie" Connors McKinstry, she and her twin brother, Michael Darcy, were the first born for the year 1951 in New York state. Her brother pre-deceased her.
Doris attended Beacon schools and was a graduate of Beacon High School, Class of 1968. She continued her studies and graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse from Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury.
Mrs. Blackman worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at the Danbury and New Milford Hospitals and for Urology Associates of Danbury. She had made her home in Danbury prior to moving to New Milford 18 years ago.
She was a member of the First Congregational Church of New Milford and was an avid bowler in the leagues at Brookfield Lanes.
Besides her husband, her survivors include two daughters, Darcy K. Blackman and her fianc'E9 Mark Pane and Amy R. Blackman, both of New Milford; two sisters, Eileen Blackman and her husband Peter of Newtown, and Jackie Edmonds and her husband Nelson of Gaylordsville; a sister-in-law, Susan Darcy; two nieces, Karen Gibb and Katy Ducey; three nephews, Alan Edwards and Joseph and Michael Darcy; as well as aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield, Friday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Michael J. Moran of the First Congregational Church of New Milford, officiating.
Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Brookfield, in the spring.
Friends may call at the Brookfield Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 to 9:00.

Gerald E. Carrine
Gerald Edmund Carrine, 77, of Midfield Road, Danbury, died Sunday at his home.
Mr. Carrine was the husband of Evelyn L. Hyatt. They were married for 52 years.
He was born in Danbury, Jan. 26, 1923, a son of Marsh and Edith (Paddock) Carrine.
Mr. Carrine was a veteran of World War II and served with the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre.
He attended Danbury schools and was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Danbury. Mr. Carrine worked for the Harvey Hubbell Company, Newtown. He enjoyed bowling with the Men's Commercial League.
Besides his wife Evelyn, he is survived by his son, Jeffrey K. Carrine of Danbury, 2 daughters, Jacalyn Carrine of Danbury and Jennifer Lombardo of Berryville, N.Y., 2 sisters, Mary Carrine and Cecelia Marks both of Danbury, 3 grandchildren, Jason, Kelly and Krystal, 1 great-grandson and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main St., Danbury. Funeral services will be at Tomlinson Homestead Tuesday at 8 p.m.
Amelia Carvalho
Amelia Carvalho, 88, wife of the late Abel Carvalho, died at the Glen Hill Convalescent Center in Danbury on Monday evening.
She was born in Portugal, April 16, 1911, daughter of the late Manuel and Antonia Coelho. She came to Danbury as a child and had been a resident here for approximately 80 years. Mrs. Carvalho had attended Danbury schools and had worked with her late husband in his businesses, The South End Bakery and later Abel's Market on White Street in Danbury. Mrs. Carvalho was a member of the late AARP #1847.
She is survived by five sons, Abel Carvalho and his wife Joan of Newtown, Nelson Carvalho and his wife Connie, Norman Carvalho and his wife Dorothy, Raymond Carvalho and his wife Bernardete and Edward Carvalho, all of Danbury; a daughter, Alice Pereira of Southbury, 13 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday morning at 10:30. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Wednesday evening from 5 to 8 p.m.

Frederick A. Kelley
Frederick A. Kelley, 83, of Appalachian Road, Kent, CT, died February 3, 2000, at Sharon Hospital. He was the husband of Tessie (Green) Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was born on July 15, 1916, in Bridgeport, CT, the son of the late Nellie (Cromwell) and Elmer Kelley. He was a carpenter for over 40 years in the Connecticut area.
As well as his wife, he is survived by two sons, Frederick A. Kelley Jr. of Newtown, CT, and Benjamin L. Kelley of Kent, CT; a daughter, Carol Ann French of Newtown, CT; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
