Anna J. Bouffard

Anna J. Bouffard, age 84, of Trumbull, a homemaker, died peacefully on Monday, February 14, 2000 at her residence.

Born in Cranston, R.I., she was a daughter of the late J. Oliver and Eva Tetrault Pariseau. Mrs. Bouffard was a Trumbull resident over 28 years and formerly worked as a Trumbull Home Health Aide. She was a past member of the Rosary Society at St. Peter Church and was predeceased by her husband. Achille Bouffard and three brothers, George, Albert and Raymond Pariseau.

Survivors include four daughters, Diane Figlar of Monroe, Joanne Cantiello of Monroe, Christine Weglinski of Norwalk and Maureen Sienkiewicz of Trumbull; five sons, Richard Bouffard of Trumbull, Denis Bouffard of Danbury, Ronald Bouffard of Trumbull, Paul Bouffard of Huntington and David Bouffard of Ridgefield; four sisters, Anita Bousquet and Lillian Guindon, both of Rhode Island, Irene Garrigus and Constance Southworth, both of Massachusetts; a brother, Francis Pariseau of Massachusetts; 25 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place on Thursday, February 17, 2000 at 10 a.m. from the Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbulland at 11 a.m. in St. Catherine of Siena Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Trumbull. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to Hope for ALS, 7822 Santa Elena, Suite 100, Houston, TX 77061 or Alzheimer's Assoc. of Fairfield County, 607 Main Ave., Norwalk, CT 06851. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.

Aldea Bonner Mazza

Aldea Bonner Mazza, 76, of Loris, S.C., died February 14, 2000 after a long illness.

She is survived by a daughter, Amy Kreger of Loris, S.C. and a son, Louis Mazza of North Hollywood, Calif.; and one sister, Irene Hliva of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Mazza will be cremated on February 16 by Hardwick Funeral Home, Loris, S.C.

Lila Stokes

Lila Stokes of 5 Three Partners Road, Danbury, departed this life on February 14, 2000 after a long illness at the Danbury Hospital. Ms. Stokes was born September 11, 1941 in Magnolia, N.C. She is the sole daughter of Ms. Melva M. Stokes.

She was a 1959 graduate of E.E. Smith High School in Kenansville, N.C. and later attended William Paterson College and received a B.S. Degree from Ramapo College, Mahwah, N.J.

She was employed at the Garden State Credit Bureau for 11 years. For the past 27 years she worked as a Tax Accountant for IBM of Southbury.

Before moving to Connecticut, Ms. Stokes was a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. After relocating to Danbury she taught Sunday school at the New Hope Baptist Church and was a member and Sunday school teacher at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church.

She is survived by her mother, Melva M. Stokes of Danbury. She also leaves one son, Christopher and one daughter, Yvette of Danbury. She leaves five brothers and three sisters-in-law. A brother, Henry Lee and his wife, Beulah of Philadelphia, Pa.; a brother, Reverend James Grimes and his wife, Sheila of Goldsboro, N.C.; a brother, Robert C. of Liberty, Mo.; a brother, Ronald and his wife, Ruth of Paterson, N.J. and a brother, Connie of Danbury.

She had four grandchildren, Krisheema, Wendy, Christopher and Stephany. Ms. Stokes also leaves two lifelong friends, Christine Ivey and Constance Wright.

She leaves a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Friends will be received on Thursday, February 17 from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Colonial Hills Baptist Church on Stadley Rough Road in Danbury.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 18 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church on 245 East 18th Street in Paterson, N.J. and the burial will take place at Cedar Grove on Saturday, February 19 at 10 a.m.

William J. Montesi

William J. Montesi, 65, of 33 Greenlawn Drive, Danbury, husband of Mary Ann (Abdella) Montesi, died at his residence on Tuesday, February 15, 2000 after an extended illness.

Mr. Montesi was born in Danbury, January 19, 1935, a son of Ethel (Lown) Montesi and the late William J. Montesi Sr. He attended Danbury schools and graduated from Henry Abbott Technical School-Class of 1955.

Mr. Montesi was active in sports, especially baseball and basketball.

He was a US Marine veteran.

Mr. Montesi was employed by Master Foods in early years, then Levine Automotive and until his retirement was sexton for the Danbury Cemetery Association operating Wooster and Great Plain Cemeteries. He was a member of St. James Episcopal Church of Danbury.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sons, Charles Montesi of Miami, Fla. and William Montesi and his wife, Donna of Danbury; a daughter, Susan Montesi of Ludlow, Mass.; two sisters, Ethel Mae Abdella of Danbury and Maria Riley of Long Pond, Pa.; a brother, David Montesi of Torrington; two grandchildren, Melissa Montesi and Christine Montesi as well as several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will take place in St. James Episcopal Church, 25 West Street, Danbury at a time to be announced.

There will be no calling hours.

Evelyn Taylor York

Evelyn Taylor York, age 92, of New Milford, died at New Milford Nursing Home on Tuesday, February 15, 2000.

Mr. York was born November 8, 1907 in Lang Plantation, Maine, the daughter of the late Leo E. and Inez Brown Taylor. Mrs. York is a graduate of Rangeley High School and Bryant and Stratton Secretarial School in Boston, Mass. Mrs. York worked in the family resort in Rangeley, Maine for 31 years and in other resorts in Florida and North Carolina until she retired and moved to New Milford at the age of 70.

Mrs. York is survived by two sons, James L. York II of New Milford and David G. York of Marathon, Fla.; two sisters, Arlene Secord of Portland, Maine and Jeanne Woods of Aurora, Colo.; five grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. York was predeceased by four sisters and three brothers.

A Memorial Service will be held in the Congregational Church, Rangeley, Maine in July.

Memorials may be made to the First Congregational Church, Book of Remembrance, 36 Main Street, New Milford, CT 06776.

Edward Krajewski

Edward Krajewski, 36, formerly of Danbury, died on Saturday, February 12, 2000 in Panacea, Fla.

He was born September 25, 1963 in Stamford, son of the late Eugene W. and Dianne M. Krajewski.

He graduated from Henry Abbott Tech in 1981 and went on to become a machinist.

He is survived by two sisters, Susan Gorman of S. Kent and Lynne A. Krajevski of Austin, Texas.

Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 372 Danbury Rd., Wilton, CT 06897.

There will be no calling hours and the funeral service will be private.

William J. Montesi

Funeral services for William J. Montesi, 65, of 33 Greenlawn Drive, Danbury, husband of Mary Ann (Abdella) Montesi, will take place on Friday at 11 a.m. in St. James' Episcopal Church, 25 West Street, Danbury, with the Rev. Carolyn P. Dukenski officiating.

Burial will take place in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.

There will be no calling hours.

Hazel C. Allen

Hazel C. Allen, 87, of Keeler Road, Bridgewater, died on February 14 at New Milford Hospital. She was the widow of Howard E. Allen.

Mrs. Allen was born on February 1, 1913 in Roxbury and attended the Roxbury Schools. She was a member of the Bridgewater Historical Society and the Bridgewater Congregational Church.

She is survived by two sons, Kenneth H. Allen and Richard R. Allen, both of Bridgewater; one grandson; two granddaughters; a great-grandson; a great-granddaughter; and a great great-granddaughter. She is also survived by a brother, Raymond Cummings of New Milford.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Betty Volinski and Lillian Sekel.

A private funeral service will take place at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford.

Carol Kelly

Carol Kelly, 52, of 17 Maple Drive, Sandy Hook, died on February 11, 2000 at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of James Kelly.

Born in Bridgeport June 29, 1947, she was a daughter of the late Henry Pierson and Sarah Elizabeth (Ferris) Banks.

Besides her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Elaine Kelly of Sandy Hook; two brothers, Ronald and Robert Banks of Southbury; and a sister, Clara Watson of California.

Private graveside services will be held at Pine Hill Cemetery, Southbury at the convenience of the family.

There were no calling hours.

Florencia C. Dimarucot

Florencia C. Dimarucot, died February 14, 2000 at the Pope John Paul II Center at the age of 87. She was the wife of the late Amando S. Dimarucot and lived at 12 Seminole Ave. in Dumont, N.J. before settling in Danbury 5 years ago.

Mrs. Dimarucot was born in Tarlac, Philippines February 23, 1912, daughter of the late Hermenegildo and Modesta Soliven Cansino. She received her education in the Philippines and was a Teacher in public schools in Manila, Philippines. She was a member of St. Mary Church in Dumont, N.J.

She is survived by her two sons, Amendo Dimarucot Jr. of Manila and Dante Dimarucot of Dumont, N.J.; three daughters, Myda Cook of Danbury, Agnes Magbanua of Manila and Didi Asistin of Dumont, N.J.; one brother, Eliseo Cansino of Manila; 13 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions may be made to Pope John Paul II Center (Patient Fund), 33 Lincoln Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.

Gertrude (Trudy) Phillips

Gertrude (Trudy) Phillips, age 81, wife of Richard Phillips of 1 Pilgrim Lane, Sandy Hook, died Wednesday, February 16, 2000 in the Danbury Hospital.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Quebec Province, Canada June 7, 1918, a daughter of the late Delphis and Exrille (Herbert) Lalaberte. She moved to Maine with her family when she was eight years old. Mrs. Phillips had been a resident of Sandy Hook the past 28 years and was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church.

In addition to her husband, survivors include one son, Roger Caron of Bridgeport; three daughters, Eileen LaPointe of West Redding, Carol Keith of Pompano Beach, Fla. and Shirley Amundsen of Ridgefield; one brother, Armand Lalaberte of Madison; two sisters, Jeannette Fortier of Waterbury and Mary LaPlante of Meriden; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, February 18, 2000 at 10:00 a.m. from the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Rose of Lima Church for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday (today) from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Contributions may be made to Regional Hospice of Western CT, 30 West St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Betty R. Dixon

Betty (Rugh) Dixon, 95, of 18 Fairfield Court, Ridgefield, wife of the late Dr. Charles H. Dixon, died on Tuesday, February 15, 2000 at the Laurelwood Rehabilitation Center, Ridgefield.

Mrs. Dixon was born in Monmouth, Ill., October 30, 1904, a daughter of the late Daniel Q. and Edna Mae (Rugh) Webster.

She attended Illinois schools and had resided most of her life in Oklahoma until she first relocated to Mt. Pleasant, Texas and later to Ridgefield.

While a resident in Oklahoma, she was active with the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Presbyterian Church.

Mrs. Dixon enjoyed swimming, baking, sewing, bird watching as well as being an avid rose grower and active in civic affairs.

She is survived by her daughter, Mrs. J. Edward (Ann) Baker of Ridgefield as well as seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her son, Gerald Dixon, MD of Mt. Pleasant, Texas.

Funeral Services and Interment will take place in Shawnee, Oklahoma.

There will be no calling hours.
