Nicholas Gillotti
Nicholas Gillotti, 86, formerly of Danbury, retired to Lakeworth, Fla., and recently sharing residence with his daughters, Joan Wojciechowski of Newport, N.C., and Donna Jaquith of Alpharetta, Ga., died Nov. 28, 1999, at Britthaven of Newport.
He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. P.A. Wojciechowski and Mr. and Mrs. Terrance Jaquith; six grandchildren; a sister, Rose Del Monte of Bridgeport; and a sister-in-law, Alba Gillotti of Danbury.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Havelock, N.C., with the Rev. Frederick Flaherty officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery in New Bern, N.C. Arrangements are by Cotton Funeral Home in North Carolina.
Eric A. Johnson
Eric A. Johnson, 62, of Bethel, died at his residence on Thursday, Dec. 9, 1999.
He was born in Greenwich, April 15, 1937, son of the late Eric and Mina (Nyberg) Johnson. He was a graduate of Greenwich High School in 1955 and served with the U.S. Army in Germany in the late 1950s. He moved to Cape Cod in the mid 1960s and was a self-employed home builder there. In 1983 Mr. Johnson moved to Bethel and had worked at Hughes Danbury Optical Systems, prior to his retirement.
He is survived by 2 sons, Ric and Keith, both of Cape Cod; a daughter, Cherlyn of New Smyrna Beach, FL; two brothers, Glen Johnson of Brookfield and Chuck Johnson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; 3 grandchildren; 2 nephews; and a niece.
Private services and cremation will be at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Kathryn Moore Hopper
Kathryn Moore Hopper, 75, of 171 Pumpkin Hill Road, New Milford, wife of William Hopper, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999 at New Milford Hospital. Mrs. Hopper was born in New Milford Oct. 3, 1924, the daughter of the late William and Mary Hastings Moore. She was a graduate of New Milford High School and had been employed by the law firm of Cramer and Anderson in New Milford as a legal secretary for many years, retiring in 1988. She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church in New Milford. Besides her husband, she is survived by daughters Linda A. Buss of Thomaston, Conn. and Rebecca E. Allen; one sister, Alice M. Krosky of New Milford; five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
A Funeral will be on Tuesday at 9 a.m. from the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St. to St. Francis Xavier Church for a mass of Christian burial at 9:30 a.m. Interment at St. Francis Cemetery, New Milford. Charles C. Malino
Charles C. Malino, of 2-1 Fairview Drive, Danbury, died Friday, Dec. 10, 1999 at Danbury Hospital. Mr. Malino was born in White Plains, N.Y. and attended White Plains schools. He served in the U.S. Navy in the Phillipines during WWII. Mr. Malino moved to Danbury from White Plains, N.Y. in 1946 and has been a resident of Danbury since that time. He was a member of St. Peter Church in Danbury.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sisters, Mary Danielle of Pleasantville, N.Y.; Connie Spicanardi and Rose Cole, both of Daytona Beach, Fla. and several nieces and nephews.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Peter Church on Monday at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will take place at the St. Peter Cemetery Mausoleum. Rosa G. Forst
Rosa G. Forst, 92, widow of Carl Forst, and mother of Ingeborg Krug, of 52 Shortwoods Road, New Fairfield, died Saturday at her home.
Mrs. Forst was born in Munich, Germany, Dec. 31, 1906, a daughter of the late Martin and Elizabeth Eppeneder Wagner, and she had been a resident of the United States for most of her life. She and her husband had moved to New Fairfield from New Jersey, and founded the former Famous Bake Shop on Main Street, in Danbury. She had been the shop manager and continued to work in the Krug family bakery, The Little Cake Box, in New Fairfield. Many years a resident of Candlewood Isle, New Fairfield, and later of Possum Ridge, she had lived with her daughter and family during the past year.
Besides her daughter and son-in-law, Ingeborg and Herbert Krug, she is survived by two grandsons, Karl Krug, also of Connecticut, and Gregory John Krug, of Warner, N.H., two great grandsons, Michael and Zachary Krug, and a great granddaughter, Gretchen Krug.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, New Fairfield, on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.

Robert Masterson
Robert J. Masterson, 79, formerly of Brookfield, died Dec. 11, 1999, at the Bethel Health Care Center. He was the husband of the late Eileen (Reade) Masterson.
He was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on July 3, 1920, a son of the late Peter A. and Adelaide Jobes Masterson. He was educated in New Jersey and joined the Army in 1942, serving in Central Europe, Naples, Rhineland, Rome and Southern France. Mr. Materson later joined the Caltex Petroleum Corp., where he worked for more than 40 years before his retirement in 1982.
Mr. and Mrs. Masterson lived in Glen Head, N.Y., before making their home with their daughter, Patricia M. Davis, formerly of Shamrock Drive, Brookfield. Mr. Masterson later moved to Bethel.
He was a member of St. Joseph Church, Brookfield.
Besides his daughter Patricia, now of Dallas, Texas, he is survived by another daughter, Regina Masterson of Westport; three grandchildren, Bruce, Keith and Kimberly Davis, all of Dallas; a brother, Peter A. Masterson of Ridgewood, N.J.; two sisters, Margaret Lawrence of Orange, Conn., and Dorothea David of Ridgewood; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, Brookfield. Burial will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Mary Rest Cemetery, Ramsey, N.J. Friends may call Monday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.

Cecilia P. Villodas
Cecilia Villodas was born in Cadiz, Spain on February 19th, 1899. As a child she traveled extensively about the world, with her father who was a sea captain in the Spanish Merchant Marine. After graduating from Sacred Heart College in Seville, Spain, she came to the United States in 1920.
She met and married Joaquin Villodas in New York City in 1921, where she lived for many years. From that union they had two children, Jack and Carmen. Jack resides in Danbury, and is founder and CEO of ICDI, Inc. He is also a very active member of the community. Jack is married to Olga and has two sons, Steven and Richard. Her daughter, Carmen, resides in California and has two children, Virginia and John Azua.
She is survived by her children, four grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church Thursday morning at 10 a.m.
Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
Friends will be received at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury Wednesday from 3 to 7 p.m.

Beatrice Donino Porter
Beatrice F. Porter, 79, died at her home in Danbury on Monday, December 13, 1999. She was the wife of the late Raymond Porter Jr., who died in January of 1996.
Mrs. Porter was born in Greenwich on October 5, 1920, a daughter of the late Frank and Jennie Bruno Donino. She graduated from Greenwich High School in 1938.
In addition to being a mother and homemaker, she held various clerical positions from 1966 to 1980. Among them was that of Parish Secretary at St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside where she was also a member of the Rosary Guild and the Parish Advisory Council. For many years she was active in the Greenwich Democratic Town Committee.
Mrs. Porter is survived by her three children; Pamela Rawsthorne of Venice, Florida, Paul Wolff of Ridgefield and Peter Wolff of Redding; two brothers, Laurence Donino of Greenwich and Frank Donino of Duluth, Georgia; a sister, Gloria Lapinski of Orange; four stepchildren, Raymond Porter III of Redding, Kathy Norjean of Pamona, N.Y., Michelle Decea of Suffern, N.Y. and Dr. David Porter of Franklin Lakes, N.J.; four grandchildren; nine step grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 16 at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Church, High Ridge Avenue, Ridgefield. The interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Greenwich.

Cecelia L. Eyres
Cecelia L. Eyres, 61, formerly of Danbury, died Friday, December 10, 1999 at her home following a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of William E. Eyres of Prunedale, California.
Mrs. Eyres was born in Monterey, California, October 9, 1938. She had lived in Prunedale, California since 1991 and prior to that she had lived in Connecticut from 1979 to 1991.
Mrs. Eyres was a lifetime artist working in various media. She also enjoyed writing. An article she had written about her marriage and her battle with cancer was published in Good Housekeeping. She was also an avid letter writer, corresponding with dozens of friends all over the world up until the time of her passing. She was a volunteer decorator for 5 years for Mariposa-Go-Round in Monterey. She was a 1956 graduate of Pacific Grove High School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Eyres of New York City, N.Y. and Michael Eyres of Austin, Texas; and two sisters, Jolie Venable of Canon City, Colo. and Rebecca Pillsbury of Chicago, Ill.
A Memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements under the direction of the Struve and Laporte Funeral Home, Salinas, California.

Lucy Peloso
Lucy Peloso, of Rose Lane, Danbury, died Tuesday at Glen Hill Convalescent Center, Danbury.
She was born in Yonkers, New York May 27, 1909, a daughter of Joseph and Agatina (DeStefano) Peloso.
Miss Peloso moved to the Danbury area fourteen years ago. She worked as a Seamstress and belonged to the International Garment Worker's Union and was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church in Danbury.
She is survived by two brothers, Joseph of Easton and Frank Peloso of Norwalk; two sisters, Laura Azzolino and Sadie Peloso, both of Danbury and many nieces and nephews.
Calling hours are Thursday from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main Street, Danbury.
Services are Friday at 10 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 85 Great Plain Road, Danbury.
Anna D. Quinn
Miss Anna D. Quinn, of 10 Clark Street, Danbury, died December 15, 1999 at the Glen Hill Health Care Center. She was 93.
Born in Danbury September 17, 1906, she was a daughter of the late Michael and Bridget (Quinn) Quinn.
Miss Quinn was a lifetime area resident and formerly very active with the Democratic Party in the Fourth Ward. After working at the F.H. Lee Hat Company, she worked at Data Control.
She is survived by several friends, including Edward and Linda Pudelka of Danbury and their daughters, Deana Carvalho and Susan Edmond and their families.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at The Sacred Heart of Jesus Church Friday morning at 11 a.m.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

Clifford "Pete" Peterson
Clifford "Pete" Peterson, 75, of 16 Rochambeau Avenue, Ridgefield, husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" (Brady) Peterson, died on Tuesday, December 14, 1999 at the Bethel Healthcare Center, Bethel.
Mr. Peterson was born in Bridgeport, August 8, 1924, a son of the late Victor and Sarah (McNamara) Peterson. He attended Bridgeport schools and was a World War II U.S. Army veteran.
A resident of Ridgefield since 1952 coming from Bridgeport, Mr. Peterson was a retired Oil Burner Technician for the Bellagamba Oil Burner Service Company of Ridgefield retiring in 1989 after 35 years of service.
He was a member of the Italian Mutual Aid Society of Ridgefield as well as St. Mary's Church.
Mr. Peterson was well known throughout the area and will be long remembered. He is survived by a daughter, Sarah Jeanne Peterson of Danbury; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert M. and Donna (Gowdy) Peterson of New Milford; as well as four grandchildren, Melissa Araya, Matthew Peterson, Cassandra Peterson and Kyle Peterson as well as several nieces and nephews.
Graveside funeral services will take place on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield, with the Rev. Patrick Mooney, officiating.
Friends will be received in the Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield, on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Helen Burkat Schipul
Helen Burkat Schipul died at the Lutheran Home of Southbury on Tuesday evening at the age of 93. She was born August 19, 1906 in Bridgeport, the daughter of Helen Witwer and August Burkat. She was married to Emil Schipul of Trumbull, who preceded her in death.
She made her home in Nichols, Connecticut where she and her husband and children operated Nichols Farm Dairy from 1928 until 1957. In that year, they moved to Brookfield and operated Pleasant Valley Farm until 1981 when they retired and moved back to Trumbull. She was a resident of the Lutheran Home since 1989.
She is survived by two sons, Emil Schipul and his wife, Jane of Trumbull and Sherman and their children, Melissa Schipul of New Milford, Melinda Conlan of Nichols, Sarah Vail of Martha's Vineyard, Mass. and Richard Schipul of New Milford. Also, the Rev. Robert Schipul and his wife, Sandra of New Milford and their children, Robert Schipul of New Milford, Kristen Orr of Milton and Susan Moore of Ashland, Mass.; and six great grandchildren, Brice and Braedon Conlan, Willa Vail, Kelly and Paul Orr and Taylor Moore.
Mrs. Schipul was a charter member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church of Trumbull and of Christ the King Lutheran Church of Newtown. She was a member of the Choir and Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Calling hours will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday (today) at The Abriola Parkview Funeral Home, 419 White Plains Road, Trumbull. Funeral services will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday in Christ the King Lutheran Church, Rt. 6 and Tory Lane in Newtown with visitation one hour before the funeral. Interment will be in Nichols Cemetery following the service.
