Carl Peter Trenck Jr.
Carl Peter Trenck Jr., age 56, of Beech Tree Rd., Brookfield, died at Danbury Hospital on Thursday. He is the husband of Anne K. Feeley Trenck.
Born December 2, 1943 in Far Rockaway, New York, a son of the late Carl P. and Leona Gipson Trenck Sr. Area resident most of his life, Mr. Trenck has been a resident of Brookfield since 1972. Mr. Trenck was employed as a Manufacturing Engineer at Pitney Bowes for several years before retiring 9 years ago. Mr. Trenck enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his wife Anne, Mr. Trenck is survived by two sons, Jeffrey Trenck and his wife, Kim, New Milford and Robert and his wife, Theresa, Bethel; four grandchildren, Amanda, Jessalyn, Kristina and Peter; a brother, Raymond Trenck, Chicago, Ill.; a sister, Virginia Marsh, Brookfield; an aunt, Evelyn Robinson, Long Island, N.Y. and cousins.
Memorial service will take place in the Hull Home, Sixty Division Street, Danbury, Wednesday evening at 7 o'clock. Family will receive friends in the Hull Home one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cancer Center Foundation, c/o Danbury Hospital, 24 Hospital Ave., Danbury, CT.
Newsman Rommdead at age 73
MIDDLETOWN, N.Y. (AP) Avrom "Al" Romm, the first editor of The Times Herald-Record and a vice president of news for its parent company, Ottaway Newspapers Inc., has died. He was 73.
Romm died Wednesday in Boynton Beach, Fla., after a long illness.
Romm was "one of the founding editors of The Record, when it was a revolutionary idea in American journalism to use the first large scale offset printing process for newspapers in 1956," said Ottaway board Chairman and CEO James H. Ottaway Jr.
"Everyone who worked with Al Romm, whether in a newsroom or a journalism workshop, ended their day a better journalist," said David E. Brace, who succeeded Romm as vice president of news in 1991.
Romm was born in 1926, in Minneapolis, Minn.
Gladys F. Favreau
Gladys F. Mayhew Favreau, 79, of 12 Reynolds Ridge, Bethel, died unexpectedly on Saturday, January 1, 2000.
Born on June 28, 1920 in Bethel, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Julie Mayhew. Gladys graduated from Bethel High School and lived all her life in Bethel, retiring from Messinger Manufacturing Co. in 1982. She attended St. Mary's Church, Bethel.
Mrs. Favreau leaves a daughter, Marie Iriye and son-in-law, Robert of Middletown, Rhode Island; three granddaughters, Sheila, Kyla and Alicia, all of Bethel; and loving family members, Kate and Kim Trinklein, the Scotts, the Frohnhoefers and the McCauleys. She was predeceased by a son, Les Favreau.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 at the Church of St. Mary, Bethel. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.

Julius C. Oliver II
Julius C. Oliver II, 27, of DATAHR, 8 Pound Sweet Hill, Bethel, died Dec. 19, 1999 at Danbury Hospital.
Mr. Oliver was born Aug. 28, 1972, in Bridgeport. A friend to all, he loved people and they loved him.
He was a member of the Toast Masters Group and a past participant in the Newtown Police Department's "Day in the Life of a Police Officer" program.
Mr. Oliver is survived by the Johnson family in Georgia and the Mendes family of Bridgeport.
A memorial gathering will be held at the Hatters Park Hall, 7 East Hayestown Road, Danbury, on Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at 12:30 p.m.
Cremation Services of Western Connecticut, 55 Main St., Danbury, was in charge of arrangements.

Ruth S. Hunt
Ruth S. Hunt, age 81, of Brewster, N.Y., wife of Frank J. Hunt, died December 30, 1999, at the Putnam Hospital Center, Carmel, N.Y., unexpectedly.
She was born February 10, 1918, in Brewster, N.Y., the daughter of the late Joseph and Ellen (Mackey) Scolpino. Her formal education was in Brewster where she lived all of her life. On October 8, 1944, she married Frank J. Hunt in Muskogee, Ok.
Mrs. Hunt worked for the Ullman Co. in Ridgefield for many years and retired in 1982. She was an active member of the Southeast town Republican committee.
In addition to her husband Frank, she is survived by several nieces and nephews, grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 3, 2000, at 10 a.m. at St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, Brewster. Interment is at St. Peter's Mausoleum, Danbury, CT. Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Anna G. Fischer
Anna Gerstenmaier Fischer, age 102, of 31 Staples St., Danbury, formerly of Clapboard Ridge, died Thursday at Hancock Hall in Danbury. She was predeceased by her husband, Dr. Henry C. Fischer.
Mrs. Fischer was born in Danbury, CT, November 4, 1897, a daughter of the late John and Wilhelmina Ehni Gerstenmaier. She was a lifetime resident of Danbury, where she graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and the Danbury High School. For many years she had been a secretary at the Davis & Hoyt Insurance Company, retiring in 1963. She was a life member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a past president of the Danbury chapter of the Business and Professional Women's Club.
Mrs. Fischer is survived by 2 daughters, Ruth F. Schmidt of New Fairfield, CT, and Elizabeth F. Brownlow of Lenox, MA; 1 son, Edward J. Fischer of Marion, IL; 1 sister, Gertrude F. Lattin of Denver, CO; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She also was predeceased by a son, Dr. Paul H. Fischer of New Fairfield.

The funeral will be held at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury, Tuesday morning at 11:00. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury.

Capt. Raynald J. Dupill
Capt. Raynald J. Dupill, 82, of 36 Tyler Lake Heights, Goshen, died Wednesday, Dec. 29 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Rita (Frechette) Dupill.
Born in Oquossoc, Maine, April 22, 1917, son of the late Arthur and Zelia (Quay) Dupill, he lived in New Milford, Goshen, and the Bahamas over the last 35 years. He was a full-time Goshen resident for the past 25 years.
Dupill was a pilot for Pan American Airways for 32 years, retiring in 1973. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy, shuttling soldiers to Europe. He was a member and past president of Pan Am American Clipper Pioneers. He was founder and past president of the Farmington Maine Ski Club. He was a member of the New Milford Rotary Club.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Janice E. Szigete of New Milford, Patricia A. Cole of Prospect, and Gail M. Varsell of Goshen. He also leaves four sons, Raymond "Peter" Dupill of Murrysville, Pa., Robert J. Dupill of New Milford, David M. Dupill of Norfolk, and James P. Dupill of Goshen, and 8 grandsons and 2 granddaughters. He was predeceased by brothers Ernest and Paul Dupill.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Jan. 3, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Church, Route 63, Goshen. Burial will follow at St. Thomas Cemetery. There are no calling hours.

Tela Cook
Tela Cook, 83, a Pawling resident for over 60 years, formerly of Brooklyn, N.Y., wife of the late Edward Cook, died Saturday, Jan. 1, 2000.
Mrs. Cook was born Feb. 7, 1916, in Colliers, West Virginia, daughter of Angelo and Mary Corradi Cadore.
Mrs. Cook operated a dude ranch and catering business before turning to real estate through the encouragement of Lowell Thomas in 1959. She operated Tela Cook Real Estate.
The first Lady President of the Pawling Rotary, she was its program director for eight years. She spearheaded a clothing drive for the people of Appalachia and participated in the Fifth Annual Cancer Survivors' Day at New Milford Hospital.
In addition, she was a member of numerous organizations, including a trustee of the Akin Hall Association, Bargain Boutique at the Harlem Valley Psychiatric Center, Eastern Dutchess Advisory, Historical Association of Quaker Hill and Pawling, Pawling Chamber of Commerce, Pawling Garden Club, Pawling Grange No. 834, Pawling Health, Quaker Hill Country Club, Quaker Hill Civic Association, Rosary Society/St. John's Church, the Realtors association and the YMCA.
She was a Girl Scout leader, Brownie leader and Sunday School teacher for over 17 years. She formed St. John's Aides and was a school classroom mother at Pawling Central for over 15 years.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her two children, Edward Cook and Rosemary Osborne, both of Pawling; six grandchildren, Liz Cook DeKoster of Massachusetts, Tela J. Cook of Pawling, Ed E. Cook III of California, Ed Osborne, Chris Osborne Jr. and Catherine Osborne of Pawling; a brother, Ray Cadore of Pawling; a sister, Angelia Dipre of Wingdale; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Horn & Thomes Inc. Funeral Home, 83 E. Main St., Pawling, N.Y.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. John's Church, Pawling. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery, Pawling.

Irene Gill
Irene Gill of Patterson (Putnam Lake) died Friday, Dec. 31, at her home. She was 95.
Mrs. Gill was born May 16, 1904, in Belhaven, North Carolina, to the late Dameron B. and Sally Ann (Bishop) White. After graduating high school, she attended the State Teachers College at Harrisonburg, VA. She married John Gill Sr. in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 10, 1938, and then settled in Queens, N.Y., before moving to Putnam Lake in 1948. Her husband John predeceased her in 1961.
Mrs. Gill was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Brewster, the Putnam County Retired Teachers Association and the United Methodist Women. Mrs. Gill taught at Green Chimneys School for 14 1/2 years before retiring in 1969.
She is survived by her son, John Jr., of Putnam Lake.
A service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Brewster.
Friends may call at the Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Lake, Brewster, Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Interment will be in St. Lawrence O'Toole Cemetery.

Fred B. Jones
Fred B. Jones, 92, of Ridgefield, died Dec. 16th at Wilton Meadows in Wilton. He was the husband of the late Ruth Colburn Jones.
Survivors include 3 sons, Raymond S. Jones of Gouldsboro, ME, Douglas E. Jones of Anchorage, AL, and Colburn D. Jones of Sherman, CT; 1 daughter, Berthann Jones of Guilford, CT; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be conducted Wednesday, Jan. 5th, 2000, at the Jesse Lee Memorial United Methodist Church, Ridgefield, at 11 a.m.

Dorothy Fuhrmann
Dorothy L. Fuhrmann died Dec. 31, 1999, at the Danbury Hospital at the age of 69. She lived at 27 Griffing Ave., Danbury.
Mrs. Fuhrmann was born in Bridgeport, CT, Nov. 27, 1930, daughter of the late John L. Pasquarella Sr. and Dorothy L. Shaw Pasquarella. She graduated from Danbury High School, Class of 1948, and worked as a wire assembler for Viking Wire Co. in Danbury for 20 years, retiring in 1984.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Danbury.
Mrs. Fuhrmann is survived by her son, Lawrence A. Fuhrmann of Kobe, Japan; her daughter, Donna M. Fuhrmann of San Francisco, CA; her two grandsons, Ken and Riki Fuhrmann of Japan; her three brothers, John L. Jr. and Richard C. Pasquarella of Danbury, and Ronald J. of Oveida, FL; her sister, Shirley R. Corona of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Main Street, Danbury. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
