Robert L. Hartell
Robert L. Hartell, 45, of Spokane, Washington, formerly of Danbury, died in Spokane on Sunday, January 16, 2000.
Born in Danbury March 16, 1954, he was a son of Leonard and Anne (Davis) Hartell of Brookfield. He was a graduate of Danbury High School. Mr. Hartell worked in Spokane as a Building Superintendent. He has been a Spokane resident for the last 7 years.
Besides his parents, he is also survived by a brother, Jeffrey Hartell of Brookfield.
Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family. Interment of cremains will take place in the spring. There will be no calling hours.

Carol Louise Angelos
Carol Louise Angelos, a resident of Mahopac, N.Y. since 1967, died Tuesday, January 18, 2000 at her home. She was 65.
She was born in Bethany on December 17, 1934, a daughter of Clark and Elsie Rowe Johnson. She was a descendent of the McCollum family, one of the original families who settled in Mahopac, N.Y.
She was a retired bookkeeper, working for DeGregorio Construction of Carmel, N.Y. and later McGuire Construction of Pawling, N.Y.
She is survived by her husband, Emanuel Angelos of Mahopac, N.Y.; her children, Debra Tosetti, Diane Neville, Mark Angelos and Joyce Walsh; her brothers, Clark, Dwight and Frank Johnson; eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. A son, Robert Tosetti,
predeceased her. Visiting will be held Thursday and Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. only at The Joseph J. Smith Funeral Home, 692 Route 6, Mahopac, N.Y. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 10 a.m. at The Lake Mahopac United Methodist Church in Mahopac, N.Y.
Interment will follow at Amawalk Hill Cemetery in Amawalk, N.Y.
Sylvia Lieff Sachs
Sylvia Lieff Sachs, 83, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., died on January 17, 2000 at her home following a brief illness.
Mrs. Sachs was born in Bridgeport and was the daughter of Jacob and Anna Lieff. Sylvia was predeceased by her husband of 44 years, Harold Sachs.
She was a graduate of Emerson College and Danbury State Teachers College and taught at Mill Ridge and Hayestown schools for nearly 20 years.
Before relocating to Florida in 1976, she was a member of the United Jewish Center, Hadassah and the Danbury Bridge Club.
Mrs. Sachs is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Terry and Randi Sachs of Danbury; her daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Steve Leimsider of Kings Park, N.Y. She also leaves three beloved granddaughters, Morgan and Hannah Sachs of Danbury and Randi Ferris of Newton Centre, Mass.
Sylvia is also survived by her brother, Maish Lieff and was predeceased by two brothers, Richard Lieff and Chick Lieff.
Funeral and burial will be Wednesday at 11:45 at Star of David, North Lauderdale, Fla. Shiva services will be held at the home of Terry and Randi Sachs, 21 Delno Dr., Danbury on Thursday at 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 3:00 p.m.
Contributions in Mrs. Sachs' memory may be made to a charity of one's choosing.
Helen Fooks Watson
Helen Fooks Watson, age 81, of 87 Hospital Avenue, died at Danbury Hospital on January 16, 2000 surrounded by family and friends. She was born October 31, 1918 in Princess Anne, Maryland, the daughter of the late George Wesley and Larcenia Collins Fooks.
She attended Hampton Institute in Hampton, Va., before moving to Danbury as a young woman. She worked many years doing domestic work before becoming employed at American Cyanamid, Davis & Geck where she was a group leader in the winding department. She worked at Davis & Geck for 22 years before retiring in 1980.
Mrs. Watson was a member in long standing of Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church, the Gateway/Chancel Gospel Choir, the Stewardess Board and the Missionary Society. For 14 years she chaired the church concession booth at the Danbury State Fair selling the infamous "chicken & ribs sandwiches".
This concession booth was an integral part in paying off the church mortgage. Mrs. Watson was a member of the Bathsheba Chapter No. 23, Order of the Eastern Star, Prince Hall Affiliation of Danbury, although in most recent years was not an active member.
She is survived by one daughter, Helen G. Caddie-Larcenia of Washington, Maine; one son, William H. A. Watson Jr., who resided with her; three grandchildren, Darius F. Brown of Philadelphia, Pa., William H. A. Watson III of Washington and Rockland, Maine and Yemaya Hughes of Danbury.
Mrs. Watson was predeceased by her husband, William H. A. Watson Sr. of Danbury; a brother, Arthur J. Fooks of Yeadon, Pa.; and two sisters, Christobel Knight and Blanche Cherry of Danbury, known in the community as the Fooks Sisters, a singing trio.
The family will receive friends at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. Services will be held on Friday at 11:00 at Mt. Pleasant A.M.E. Zion Church, Danbury.

Gary Richard Adams
Gary Richard Adams, 54, of South Street, died at home Saturday, January 15, after a 15 year battle with melanoma. He was the husband of Linda (Schlegel) Adams.
Mr. Adams was born May 5, 1945 in Long Beach, N.J., son of the late Joseph E. and Marion (Smith) Adams. He was an independent insurance agent for 25 years and president of the Connecticut Insurance Agency, Inc. in Sandy Hook.
He graduated from Booth Free School in Roxbury in 1959 and Washington High School in 1963. As a student, he played football and soccer and he received the Charles McGuiness Award for Excellence in Athletics. Mr. Adams received his B.S. in Agriculture in 1967 and his M.S. in Agricultural Economics in 1969,
both from the University of Delaware. He was also a member of Kappa Alpha Fraternity. He served in the Army Reserves from 1968-1974. Upon returning to Roxbury in 1971, he became involved with the Roxbury Board of Finance for 18 years, serving as Chairman for 12 years. Mr. Adams was a 26-year member of the
Roxbury Volunteer Fire Department, serving as chief for five years. Mr. Adams served on the Lake Lillinoah Authority and the Civil Defense Commission. He was also the 9-1-1 Coordinator in Roxbury and worked on the development of a house numbering system. Mr. Adams was also a 40-year member of the Roxbury Congregational
Church, serving as Chairman of the Stewardship Commission, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Moderator, Vice-Moderator and Treasurer. He was an avid photographer who enjoyed skiing and traveling.
Besides his wife of 31 years, he leaves a son, Brian E. Adams of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Kristin J. Adams of Burlington, Vt.; two brothers, David E. Adams of Bridgewater, N.J. and Douglas G. Adams of Stowe, Vt. He is predeceased by a son, Scott G. and a brother, Lee T. Adams.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, January 22nd at 11:00 a.m. at the Roxbury Congregational Church. Burial will follow at Roxbury Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the Woodbury Funeral Home of Munson-Lovetere, Main Street South, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening.

Monroe Kravats
Monroe Kravats, age 81, of Hollywood, Fla., died at Memorial Pembroke Hospital in Hollywood, Fla. on January 10.
Mr. Kravats was born August 11, 1918 in the Bronx, N.Y., son of the late Simon and Hannah Kravitz. Mr. Kravats was a longtime resident of Danbury before moving to Florida in 1993. For years, Mr. Kravats was a Partner with the late Leo Papish in the Radial Bearing Corp.
Mr. Kravats is survived by his wife, Margarite; his two brothers, Maxwell and Edwin Kravits; his sons, Carl and Roland; a daughter, Sandy Goldberg; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service was held on January 12th in Hollywood, Fla. and was presided over by John Woodin, son-in-law to Margarite Kravats.
Richard A. Corbett
Richard A. Corbett, 62, of 83 Olmstead Lane, died at Danbury Hospital following a long illness. He was the husband of Ruth McCarthy Corbett.
Mr. Corbett was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. on December 15, 1937, a son of the late Robert D. and Harriet Davenport Corbett. He attended New York University and served with the U.S. Navy.
A Commercial Technical Representative with ConEdison, Mr. Corbett retired in December of 1999 after 42 years. A Ridgefield resident for the past twenty years, he was previously of New Fairfield. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield and an auxiliary member of the Italian-American Mutual Aid Society in Ridgefield.
Mr. Corbett was predeceased by a twin brother, Robert W. Corbett.
Besides his wife, survivors include three sisters, Gale Hendrickson of W. Allis, Wis., Joan Csaposs of Albany, N.Y. and Joyce McDermott of Syracuse, N.Y. Four nieces and four nephews; four grandnieces and one grandnephew also survive.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah St., Ridgefield.

Mark F. Rebong
Mark F. Rebong, age 28, son of Dr. Efren E. and Anita (Tongohan) Rebong of Newtown died Tuesday, January 18, 2000 in the Danbury Hospital.
Mark was born in the Philippines March 29, 1971. He came to the United States in 1973. Mark was a graduate of St. Rose School, Newtown and the Wooster School, Danbury, Class of 1989. He graduated from Skidmore College in May of 1993 with a Bachelors Degree and graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic College in August of 1993 with a Masters in Business Administration and Entrepreneuring.
Mark was employed as Night Auditor Manager at the Danbury Hilton.
He is survived, besides his parents, by a brother, M. Renan Rebong of Newtown and his maternal grandmother, Serafia Tongohan of Union City, Calif. Also survived by the Rebong Family of New York; the Rebong Family of Victoria, Laguna, Philippines; the Tongohan Family of Union City, Calif.; and the Rebong and Tongohan Family of Tanay, Rizal, Philippines.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Rose of Lima Church Saturday, January 22, 2000 at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Olga Tancredi
Olga Tancredi, a resident of Wilton and former resident of Greenwich, died January 18th in Norwalk. She was 80. Wife of Lindo Tancredi of Greenwich. Beloved sister of Emil Hroziencik of Greenwich and Walter Hroziencik of Ridgefield and the late William Hroziencik.

Chap. Paul G. Schade, Col. USAF (Ret.)
Paul Gerhardt Schade, a resident of Filosa for eight years and husband of the late Dorothy (Flannery) Schade, died January 15, 2000. He was 86 years of age.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio September 26, 1913, the son of Arthur A. and Emma (Schaeffer) Schade, he attended the University of Rochester, Colgate-Rochester Divinity School, Yale University and Andover-Newton Theological Seminary. The highest degree attained was Doctor of Ministry in Pastoral Counseling.
Paul was a career Air Force officer, retiring in 1973, after 30 years of service and attaining the rank of Colonel. He had received the Air Force Commendation Medal, two oak leaf clusters, and on retirement, the Legion of Merit. He served during World War II on the island of Guam with the 330th Bomb Group. He was also stationed in Japan during the Korean Conflict. His last assignment was second in command at the Chief of Air Force Chaplains Office in Washington, D.C.
He was a member and former pastor of the Stepney Baptist Church, Monroe. He had also been an American Baptist pastor at the Norwalk Community Church and the Liberty Street Baptist Church, Meriden. He was a former member of the First Baptist Church, Beverly, Mass. and the First Baptist Church, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Paul was proud of his German heritage, dating back to his family's emigration to Pennsylvania in 1804. He was a life member of the Blooming Grove Historical Society, the Military Chaplains Association and the 330th Bomb Group.
He was predeceased by his wife, Dorothy; daughter, Kathryn S. Valenti; and son, Peter B. Schade. He is survived by his daughter, Marjorie S. Nelson and her husband, David of Newtown; two sisters, Clara Gallup and her husband, Dana of Cambridge, Mass. and Sarah Elsesser and her husband, Alex of Penney Farms, Fla.; four granddaughters, Jennifer Rogers and her husband, Edward of Danbury, Wendy Lane and her husband, Jason of New Canaan, Vivian Barlund and her husband, Richard and Lucy Valenti, both of Anaheim, Calif.; two grandsons, Jeffrey Valenti of Baltimore, Md. and Anthony Valenti of Anaheim, Calif.; three great-grandchildren, Annemarie Barlund of Anaheim, Calif. and Ryan and Timothy Rogers of Danbury; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2000 at the Stepney Baptist Church, Monroe at 11 a.m. Interment will be in the spring in the family plot at the Blooming Grove Cemetery, Pa., at the convenience of the family.
