Rudolph Engels
Rudolph Engels, 94, of Westville Avenue Extension, Danbury, died unexpectedly in Port Charlotte, Florida at the home of his daughter on Friday, January 21, 2000.
He was born in New York, N.Y., November 1, 1905, son of the late Bertus and Olga (Hoffman) Engels. He moved to the Danbury area as a young man and had been a resident here since. He was an Electrician and had formerly owned the E.J. Wood Electrical Contracting Co. Mr. Engels was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers #488.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Jane Tierney of Danbury and Port Charlotte, Fla.; two grandchildren, Paul Tierney and his wife, Lisa and Patricia Williams and her husband, Gary; three great-grandchildren, Kristen Tierney, Jessica Tierney and Kelly Tierney and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Engels was predeceased by his wife of 74 years, Susan (Manacek) Engels on January 3rd of this year and by a son, Richard in 1939. He was also predeceased by a sister, Agnes Moger and a brother, Fred Engels.
Graveside funeral services will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Danbury, in the Spring. There will be no calling hours. Contributions may be made to the Tierney/Engels Memorial Fund at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 44 Spring St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Linda Plitnik
Linda Plitnik, age 50, wife of Michael Plitnik of Birch Hill Road, Newtown, died at her home January 23, 2000. She was born in New York City August 1, 1949, daughter of the late Kustaa and Taimi (Heikkinen) Havinoja.
A resident of Newtown 25 years, she had previously lived in Ridgefield and Redding. She graduated from Joel Barlow High School. She attended York College of Pennsylvania. For the past 7'BD years she has been employed as a Bank Teller at the New Milford Bank & Trust Co., Miry Brook Office in Danbury.
She is survived, besides her husband, by one daughter, Laura Plitnik of Newtown.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at 7:00 p.m. at the Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown with the Rev. Gregory Wismar officiating. Cremation at Mountain Grove Crematory.
Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m.

Avis L. Collins
Avis L. Collins, 90, of 40 Old Ridge Road, New Milford, died at her home January 12, 2000. She was born January 3, 1910 in Norwalk, the daughter of Frederick and Clara Whipple.
On May 29, 1937 she married William Sherman Collins in New Milford. Surviving are her husband; two sons, Michael Collins of New Milford and David Collins of Elkhart, Indiana; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and mother. A sister, Marjorie Thompson, preceded her in death.
She graduated from Meriden High School and moved to New Milford in 1928. She was an active member of St. John's Episcopal Church in New Milford. She enjoyed her family, home and travel.
Services will be held at St. John's Episcopal Church at 2 p.m. January 27, 2000.
The Rev. Pastor Harry J. Knisely will officiate.

Quentin T. Hughes Sr.
Quentin T. Hughes Sr., age 81, of Bethel, died Saturday at Danbury Hospital. He is the husband of Eugenie Delaporte.
Mr. Hughes was born on November 19, 1918 in Lyndhurst, N.J., a son of the late Edward M. and Mary Ellen Jameson Hughes. His career at the Bergen Technical and Vocational High School began as a Teacher and ended with his retirement in 1993 as the Coordinator of Adult Education. Mr. Hughes was also the sole proprietor of the Harrison Printing Company. He lived most of his life in Harrison, N.J. and was an active member of the community. He was a member of the American Legion Post #282 in Harrison.
Besides his wife of 60 years, Mr. Hughes is survived by a son, Kevin Hughes of Lexington, Mass; three daughters, Patricia Leonardis of Harrison, N.J., Lillian W. Riley of Bethel and Linda Davis of Falmouth, Mass; a brother, Kenneth Hughes of Wayne, N.J. and a sister, Eileen Dobkowski of Saddlebrook, N.J.; and eight grandchildren. He was predeceased by sons, Eugene P. Hughes and Quentin T. Hughes Jr.

Carol Williams Prause
Carol Williams Prause, 60, of 22 Housatonic Avenue, New Milford, wife of Christian R. Prause, died Saturday at New Milford Hospital.
Mrs. Prause was born in North Canaan September 26, 1939, a daughter of the late Willis and Alice Dean Williams. She spent her early life in Sharon, was a graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village. She moved to New Milford from Sharon in 1959.
Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, Richard D. Prause; two daughters, Linda S. Mosher and Donna J. Doto, all of New Milford; one sister, Hazel Zani of Canaan; four grandchildren.
Private Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday morning in the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford with Rev. Michael J. Moran of the First Congregational Church of New Milford officiating.
Interment in Center Cemetery, New Milford.
Friends may call at the Lillis Funeral Home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.

Marjorie Cigna
Marjorie (Bingel) Cigna, 79, of 10 Fanton Road, Danbury, wife of the late Levio Cigna died on Monday, January 24, 2000 at the Bethel Healthcare Center, Bethel.
Mrs. Cigna was born in Danbury January 10, 1921, a daughter of the late Walter and Anna Bingel. She attended Danbury schools and was retired from the Risdon Corporation.
She was a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield.
Mrs. Cigna is survived by a daughter, Mariann O'Brien of Danbury; a son, Joseph LaHood of Leesburg, Fla.; a brother, William Bingel of Stuart, Fla.; a sister, Mary Carrine of Danbury; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Louis LaHood.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received in the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White Street, Danbury on Thursday from 5 to 8 p.m.

James R. Main
James R. Main, 68, of 134 Taunton Hill Road, Newtown, died Sunday, January 23, 2000 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Katherine (Burns) Main.
Born in Danbury June 21, 1931, he was a son of the late James and Agnes (Chapman) Main. He was a graduate of Danbury High School. He lived in Danbury before moving to Newtown 33 years ago.
Mr. Main served in the National Guard and was activated to duty during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. He was the owner and operator of Main's Appliance Repair.
Funeral services will be private. There will be no calling hours.

Madeline Conte
Madeline Conte, age 84, of Wilton, died Monday morning at Wilton Meadows. She was the wife of the late Carl G. Conte.
Survivors include two sons, Gennaro Conte of Port Richey, Fla. and Joseph Conte of Bethel; two daughters, Alberta Weigl of Wilton and Carol Saikowski of Niantic; three sisters, Lucy Andronaco, Connie Spinola and Mary Galasso; six grandchildren; one great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, January 27, 10 a.m. at St. Matthew's Church with interment to follow at St. John Cemetery. Friends may call at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m.
Lark L. Weston
Lark L. Weston died January 21, 2000 in Danbury at the age of 49. He was the husband of Francie P. Starr Weston and was born in Huntington, Vt. January 6, 1951.
Mr. Weston graduated from Newtown High School in 1969 and was a machinist for Amphenol in Danbury for 27 years.
Besides his wife, he is survived by his mother, Beverly Thrusher Thomas of Brattleboro, Vt.; three sons, Joseph, Theodore and Nicholas Weston, all of Danbury; his brother, Rick Weston of New York; two sisters, Ida Bassette of Danbury and Bonnie Weeks of Brattleboro, Vt.; two stepsons, John Miller of Danbury and Thomas Miller of Canterbury and three grandsons. He was predeceased by his father, Hiram Weston.
Funeral Services were private and held at the convenience of the family.

Ronald H. Pinckney
Ronald H. Pinckney, 75, of 4 Valley Stream Drive, Danbury, died Tuesday, January 25, 2000 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Dorothy G. (McQue) Pinckney.
Born in Danbury August 17, 1924, he was a son of the late Harold and Hazel (Hatch) Pinckney. He attended Bethel High School.
Mr. Pinckney served in the US Navy during World War II. He worked in the construction business and was a member of the Operating Engineers Union.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott W. Pinckney of Danbury; a daughter, Sandra Lee Briggs of Ontario, Canada; and his grandchildren, Ann and Jordan Briggs, also of Ontario; as well as two nieces and a nephew.
Funeral services will be held at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m.
Cremation will take place at the convenience of the family.
