At the age of 41, he received a calling from God to join the Ministry. During his residence in Kingsland, GA, he was a member of the Kingsland United Methodist Church. He and his wife then left for Wilmore, KY where he spent the next two years as a seminary student attending Asbury Theological Seminary. During this time, Ferraro, taught Sunday School, worked with teens and devoted all of his time to church functions, teachings and ministry education. His many mission trips took him outside of the U.S. including to Jerusalem, where he helped bring food and live animals to needy families. That Ferraro touched hundreds of lives was evident at his memorial service in Kingsland, GA. Hundreds of friends and members of the church, stood alongside family members that came from as far as Connecticut and Arizona. The United Methodist Church generously provided transportation, hotel and meals for countless number of Ferraro's friends and "extended family" for five days. A police-led motorcade led the family mourning procession from Kingsland to St. Mary's, Georgia where he was laid to rest in Oak Grove Cemetery. Hundreds of people lined both sides of the road out of respect and love. Back in Kentucky, a second overwhelming memorial service was held on Thursday, July 13th, where another group of 700 students, professors, colleagues, friends and family gathered to honor this man described as having been "on fire" with his calling. His best friend and pastor, Bob Moon, delivered the memorial services, and described Frank's life as "short, but concentrated".
