Daniel E. Kiah
Daniel E. Kiah, 69, U.S. Army veteran and former Riverside resident of Bethel, passed away in Venice, Fla., on Feb. 24, 2010.
He was born in Brewer, Maine on Feb. 6, 1941 to Kay and Clare Kiah, and was the third of four children. The family moved to Riverside in 1958 where he met and married
his high school sweetheart, Donna Lanzarone, in 1965.
He was a graduate of St. Mary's High School in Greenwich and graduated from Pace University in 1965 with a bachelor's degree in business. He earned his MBA from the University of New Haven in 1996.
Kiah served in the U.S. Army in Killeen, Texas, from 1965 through 1967 and moved to Bethel in 1969.
He worked at Norden Systems from 1974 until he retired in January 2009. He had been a program manager in the Repairs Division for the past ten years.
Kiah was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Third Degree. He was also a former board member of Bethel Pop Warner and a member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Ducks Unlimited.
He and his wife of 44 years, Donna, spent many years traveling the world with friends and family. He enjoyed golf, was an avid photographer and in recent years shared a love for rock climbing with his children.
Family and friends will most remember Kiah for his generosity and kind heart.
In addition to his wife, Kiah is survived two children, Kathy of Wappingers Falls, N.Y., and Bill of Fort Collins, Colo. He is also survived by his brother, David of Newton, Mass.; a sister, Sister Annemarie, RSM of Portland, Maine and Donald of Palm Beach, Fla.; as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at St. Peter's Church in Danbury on March 2. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

William Widmann Klumpp
William Widmann Klumpp, 83, World War II veteran of Old Greenwich, passed away on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.
Klumpp was born on March 19, 1926 to Otto Klumpp and Josephine Widmann Klumpp of Cos Cob.
Klumpp served with the Army Air force during World War II and was honorably discharged with the rank of staff sergeant.
He was a graduate of University of Bridgeport, class of 1952, and retired from ITT Flygt, Trumbull, as an international sales representative in 1996 after 28 years of service.
He was a member of St. Catherine of Siena Church in Riverside.
In his retirement years, he spent his time volunteering as a Red Baron at Greenwich Hospital, was a member of the RMA, and served as a former chairman of the fire alarm committee for the Town of Greenwich. He also joined his wife at New Covenant House, where they worked side by side in its soup kitchen.
He was also an avid collector of Lionel "O" gauge trains and loved to set them up with his grandsons and great nephews during the holiday seasons. He was an avid Yankees fan and loved to travel with his wife during their retirement years.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret Craig Klumpp, of Old Greenwich; a son, William W. Klumpp, Jr of San Diego, Calif.; and two daughters, Patricia A. Klumpp also of San Diego, Calif., and Carolyn K. Schmaling and her husband, Scott of Monroe.
He is also survived by six grandchildren: Sgt. David S. Schmaling and his wife Ashley P. Schmaling of Monroe; Andrew C. Schmaling; Margaret M. Schmaling; Catherine A. Schmaling; Theresa E. Schmaling; and William C. Schmaling all of Monroe; his great-aunt, Sister Helen Klumpp, FMM of North Smithfield, RI and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Otto J. Klumpp of Hartsdale, N.Y.

Alma W. Lally
Alma W. Lally, 79, a lifelong resident of Greenwich, passed away on March 2, 2010 at Greenwich Hospital, with her family at her side.
She was born in Greenwich to Joseph and Mary Manka on Dec. 3, 1930. For many years, she worked as a secretary, most recently at the Round Hill Country Club.
Lally was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and an active member of the choir. She was also a member of the Sokol Club, the Byram Veterans Women's Auxillary, and associated with the State Liners Jr. Drum and Bugle Corp.
Lally enjoyed sewing, quilting, reading and caring for her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, James E Lally Jr.; three children: Michael, Kevin, and Laura Lally; and three grandchildren: Allison, Shannon, and Erin Lally. She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph Manka and her stepfather, Oliver Bridge.
Funeral services will be held today at 10 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 286 Delavan Ave., in Greenwich. Internment will follow in Greenwood Union cemetery Rye, N.Y. Susan Lawson
Susan Lawson, a former Greenwich resident of Lenox, Mass., died on Feb. 17, 2010. She was 94 years old.
Lawson was born in Vienna, Austria, on Dec. 3, 1915 to Desider and Mathilde Fehers. She came to the United States in September 1939 to escape Nazi persecution. Her fiance, Dr. H. Peter Hernried, preceded her to the U.S. in 1938, and they married
five days after she arrived in New York City. For many years they lived in the Bronx, where her husband had established a medical practice.
After they divorced in 1956, Lawson worked in a hospital histology laboratory for a number of years until she made a career switch to banking.
In her most recent position, Lawson worked for Republic National Bank from its opening in New York City to her retirement in 1980. By then, she lived in Greenwich, she and her second husband, Henry P. Lawson, whom she married
in 1969, and volunteered at the Bruce Museum and Greenwich Hospital.
In 1990 the couple moved to Kimball Farms in Lenox, Mass. to be closer to both music and cross country skiing. She is survived by her daughter, Vivian Schablin, of Riverside; a grandson, Paul Luongo; two great-grandchildren, Stella and Ike Luongo, of San Francisco, Calif.; a niece, Karen Feher Rosen of Cortlandt Manor, NY; and a stepdaughter, Karen Buck and her son, Eddie of Brooklyn, N.Y. She was predeceased by her parents, who perished at Auschwitz; her twin brother, Ernest Feher; and her husband Harry. Honoring her explicit instruction, there were no services. Memorial donations may be made in her memory to one's favorite charity.
Teresa Kelly O'Donnell
Teresa Kelly O'Donnell, 71, passed away peacefully on Feb. 28, 2010 in her home with family by her side.
She was born in Tullaghan, Co. Leitrim, Ireland, on June 19, 1938, the fifth child of Owen and Ann Kelly. She married
Denis O'Donnell, and had three children: Denis, Sean and Ann Marie, and three grandchildren: Katherine, Megan and Matthew.
A Mass of Christian burial was held at Sacred Heart Church in Byram on March 4. Internment followed in St. Mary's cemetery in Greenwich.

Francis P. Roche Jr.
Francis P. Roche Jr., of Greenwich, died on Feb. 21, 2010 following a brief illness. He was 78 years old.
He was born in Yonkers, N.Y. and graduated from Iona Prep and Iona College. Roche pursued a career at Cheseborough Ponds, and was then owner of Gladhaven Club, a senior citizen's residence in Greenwich. Roche and his wife travelled throughout the world for many years and he was an avid sailor.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Roche, and three daughters: Dale Roche-Lebrec of Paris, France; Dona Roche-Tarry of London, England; and Susan Roche-Callahan of Greenwich;and six grandchildren: Caroline and Nicolas Vergne, Alexander and Thomas Tarry and Courtney and Patrick Callahan. He also leaves behind his sister, Carol Ferdinandson, of Yorktown.
A Mass of Christian burial was held on Feb. 26 at St. Mary Church in Greenwich.
