Michael Cummins Cheh
Michael Cummins Cheh, the 4-year- old son of Keith and Patricia Cummins Cheh, of 19 Possum Drive, New Fairfield, died Saturday at Danbury Hospital.
He was born in Danbury Hospital, August 26, 1994, and had lived a challenged life which had inspired those with whom he came in contact.
He was the inspiration in formation of the W.I.N.-W.I.N. Foundation, of Bethel, and both Project Succeed, school programs to help medically fragile children, and the Michael Cummins Cheh Toy Lending Library at the Rehabilitation Center, 235 Main Street, Danbury.
Michael loved social interaction with other children, and enjoyed the television character, "Barney,and loved playing with balls, and swimming.
Besides his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Maryellen and Donald Cheh, of Bethel, his maternal grandparents, Mary and Maurice Cummins, of New Fairfield, and his aunts and uncles, Kevin and Allison Cheh, Mary and Greg Fernand, and Linda Cummins, and cousins Adam and Kyle Cheh and Ryan and Kelly Fernand.
A Mass of the Angels will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, New Fairfield, on Tuesday, at 1:30 p.m.
Friends will be received at The Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main Street, Danbury, on Monday, from 5 to 9 p.m.

Jennie Reda Visconti
Jennie Reda Visconti, age 85, of Norwalk, died Sunday at the Norwalk Hospital. She was the wife of the late John J. Visconti.
Survivors include a son, John J. Visconti Jr. of Cheshire, a daughter, Ella Bartscht of Danbury, three brothers, three sisters, four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, 669 West Ave., Norwalk with interment to follow at St. John's Cemetery, Norwalk. John W. Stanton
John W. Stanton, age 81, beloved husband of Muriel Warner Stanton of Black Rock, died on Jan. 31, 1999 at Bridgeport Manor. A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Mr. Stanton lived in Fairfield from 1955 until moving to Black Rock in 1986. A member of the Disabled Veterans Association, Mr. Stanton's lengthy naval career included serving in the Pacific Theater during World War II commanding an LST. Mr. Stanton was also Pacific Fleet LightWeight Boxing Champion.
Mr. Stanton was a retired director of advertising of National Geographic magazine. Before joining National Geographic, Mr. Stanton's advertising career included advertising manager of Look magazine and Women's Home Companion magazine. Mr. Stanton studied at Pratt Institute and was a graduate of New York University's School of Commerce. Mr. Stanton was a Fourth Degree Knight of Columbus Fr. Coleman Council, president and founder of the AMADAN Society of New York City, life member of Fayerweather Yacht Club, former member of the Brooklawn Country Club and Black Rock Yacht Club, past president of the Fairfield Old Post Road Association and the Bridgeport Comedy Club.
In addition to his devoted wife of 57 years, Mr. Stanton is survived by two daughters: Susan Rickard and her husband Denis of Redding, and Muriel (Mooie) Greenspan and her husband Andrew of Brewster, N.Y.; nine grandchildren: Douglas, Mathew, Patrick, and Shannon Rourke; Eirinn and Denis Rickard Jr.; Carol, Emily and Mark Greenspan; a great-grandson Charles Rourke; two sisters, Helen Ritter of Wildwood, Fla., and Catherine Harkins of Staten Island, N.Y. Mr. Stanton was predeceased by his daughter Carol Stanton Rourke, granddaughter Sarah Rourke, and great-grandson, Michael Rourke. Calling hours have been omitted. Funeral services in Arlington, Vt., will be private and at the convenience of his family. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Lesko Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road in Fairfield Center.
Helen Carone Greco
Helen Carone Greco, 95, formerly of Mamanasco Road, Ridgefield, Conn., died Monday at Mediplex of Danbury after a brief illness. She was the wife of the late Anthony Greco.
Mrs. Greco was born in New York City on June 19, 1903, a daughter of Theodore and Reneta Doino Carone. She was a seamstress who retired in 1965.
A previous resident of Mt. Vernon, N.Y., Mrs. Greco maintained a summer home in Ridgefield from 1963 to 1990 when she moved there permanently.
Besides her husband, who died in 1957, Mrs. Greco was predeceased by a son, Albert Greco and a daughter, Catherine Werner.
Survivors include one sister, Jewel Morgan of Mt. Vernon; four grandchildren, Frederick Werner of Mendham, N.J., Deborah Covino of Yonkers, N.Y., Albert Werner and Toni Franz, both of Ridgefield; and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be conducted Wednesday at 10 a.m. at Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah St., Ridgefield. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, New Rochelle, N.Y.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

William E. Naumann
William Edwin Naumann, 62, died at his home in Redding on Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999 after a long illness. He was the husband of Beverly R. Naumann.
Mr. Naumann was born on May 25, 1936 in Norwalk, Conn., the son of the late Edwin and Emily Brand Naumann. He served in the United States Navy in the 1950s. For 40 years, he was an electrician with I.B.E.W. Local Union 208 in Norwalk.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Christopher Naumann of Ridgefield; two stepsons, Timothy R. Lyons of Riverside, and Jeffrey J. Lyons of Bethel; a sister, Barbara E. Dunlap and brother-in-law, Warren S. Dunlap, of Bridgeport; a stepbrother, Seymour "TexKeeler of Magnolia, Texas; two granddaughters, a nephew, and nieces.
Mr. Naumann was a devoted friend to many. He enjoyed nature, reading, and crossword puzzles.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 4 at 11 a.m. at the Long Ridge United Methodist Church in Danbury, Conn.. Burial will follow at the Umpawaug Cemetery in West Redding.

Rosalyn A. Birdsall
Rosalyn A. Birdsall, age 80, of Bethel, died on Sunday evening at the Pope John Paul II Center for Healthcare, Danbury. She was the wife of the late George T. Birdsall, former First Selectman for the Town of Bethel.
Mrs. Birdsall was born in Mahanoy City, Pa., October 12, 1918, a daughter of George and Anna (Voytak) Peters. She grew up in Danbury, graduating from local schools, and was employed by local merchants in the retail sales industry.
With her husband, Mrs. Birdsall was active in local Republican politics throughout the late 1960s and 1970s, and was also the Assistant Registrar of Voters for the Town of Bethel during this period. She also volunteered her time to such organizations as the American Red Cross, and the American Cancer Society, and was a parishioner of the Church of St. Mary, Bethel.
Mrs. Birdsall is survived by two sons, James P. O'Hara and Richard T. Birdsall, both of Bethel; two daughters, Judith A. Russo, and Cynthia L. Scholl, both of Bethel; one sister, Helen Aducci of Danbury, seven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, Feb. 4 at the Church of St. Mary, Bethel at 10 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel, on Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.

Mary Tyszkiewicz
Private funeral services were held on Monday, Feb. 1, 1999, for the late Mary (Bogues) Tyszkiewicz, 93, wife of the late John F. Tyszkiewicz, formerly of Kenosia, Ave., Danbury. Mrs. Tyszkiewicz died on Friday, Jan. 29, 1999.
Burial took place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury. Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, was in charge of the arrangements.
Dennis Roosevelt
Dennis M. Roosevelt, age 52, of Southbury, loving husband of Mary Downs Roosevelt, died Thursday January 28, 1999 in Danbury Hospital.
During his 22-year battle with cancer, he never gave up and never let the disease overwhelm his spirit. Dennis found the time, love, and energy to marry, graduate with honors from The Culinary Institute of America as a chef, remodel his family home, and be a prize-winning competitor in chili cookoffs for charity throughout the Northeast. For seven years, he was head chef at the annual Taste of the Holidays fundraiser for the Stratford Chapter of the American Red Cross. In the 1960s and 1970s, Dennis had been an assistant Scoutmaster at the old Troop 7 in Weston, and had twice taken groups of scouts to Philmont Scout Reservation, New Mexico.
Dennis ran food services at Duracell, Pitney Bowes, and Branson Ultrasonics. He was a 1964 graduate of Staples High School, also Norwalk State Technical College, and The Culinary Institute of America.
Dennis gave hope and inspiration to all who knew him. His spirit and care for others with cancer helped many to see that in spite of the disease, they could thrive and survive. Dennis will be remembered as a symbol of true courage in the face of overwhelming odds.
Dennis leaves his wife Mary, two stepdaughters Veronica Downs-White, New Milford; Ginger Flynn, Florida, and four grandchildren. A stepson, John White, Bethel, predeceased him. He also leaves a sister Leslie Roosevelt, her husband Richard Sanders, their daughter Alyssa, all of Maryland, and several other relatives. His parents, Miles and Charlotte Roosevelt of Weston, predeceased him.
A private memorial will be held at the convenience of the family. Doreen Ciccarello
Ansonia - Doreen Ciccarello, 43, of 124 Myrtle Ave. died Sunday Jan. 31, 1999 after a courageous struggle with cancer.
Born Aug. 12, 1955 in Hartford, she was the daughter of Mario and Rose (Feole) Ciccarello of Southington. She had been co-owner of Doreen and Tammy's Diner in Danbury and was later owner of the Sandy Hook Diner prior to her illness. She attended local schools in Southington and attended Middlesex Community College. She was active as a singer in the groups, Niteline, King St. Blues Band and After Dark. Ms. Ciccarello was artistic and musically inclined.
Besides her parents she is survived by her beloved soul mate, Michael Forte of Ansonia and his parents Mario and Joan Forte of Bridgeport, her dearest sister Kim Albrecht of Southington, two nieces Nicole and Erica Albrecht, a special devoted cousin Brett Fabretti, several aunts, uncles, cousins, and touched the hearts of many, many friends. She was loved and will be missed by us all.
The funeral will be held Thursday 9:15 a.m. from the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington to St. Aloysius Church at 10 a.m. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery in Southington. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.
Loretta A. O'Rourke
Loretta A. O'Rourke, age 87, mother of Brewster Village Justice, Richard O'Rourke, died January 31 at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care in Danbury, Conn. She was the wife of the late Joseph T. O'Rourke.
Mrs. O'Rourke was born on Aug. 7, 1911 in Brentwood, N.Y. to Peter and Mary (Hagen) Casey. She was a graduate of the Academy of St. Joseph, Brentwood.
Mrs. O'Rourke married Joseph T. O'Rourke on Oct. 25, 1935 in Brentwood. Mr. O'Rourke died in 1978.
Mrs. O'Rourke was a member of both St. Luke's and St. Ann's parishes in Brentwood. She was an active member of St. Anthony's High School Mother's Guild in Smithtown, N.Y. and St. Luke's Over Sixty Club in Brentwood. She was a resident of Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care in Danbury, Conn. since February 1992. She had previously lived in Brentwood all her life.
Besides her son of Brewster she is survived by two granddaughters, Shannon and Kathleen O'Rourke. She was predeceased by three brothers, Peter, Joseph, and Anthony Casey and a sister, Rose Casey Shank.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday Feb. 3 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, Ridgefield, Conn. A reception for friends will follow the mass in the parish hall. Eleanor M. Kalil
The death of Eleanor M. Jannuzzi Kalil, 80, of 22 Hospital Avenue, occurred at Heritage Heights Monday afternoon.
Born in Danbury, June 6, 1918, she was the daughter of Michael and Philomena Combino Jannuzzi. She attended local schools and was a lifelong Danbury resident.
She devoted her life to her home.
She was a member of St. Gregory the Great Church.
Surviving is a sister, Fannie M. Tremont of Danbury and several nieces and nephews.
A Funeral service will be held at Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Wednesday at 8 p.m.
Graveside services will be held at Wooster Cemetery, Thursday at 11 a.m., Section 16.
Friends may call at the Cornell Memorial Home Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Humphrey Sowle
Humphrey A. Sowle, age 68, husband of Patricia K. Sowle, of North Carolina, formerly of Danbury, died on Sunday, January 31, 1999.
He was born in Providence, R.I. on Aug. 23, 1930, son of the late Martin L. Sowle and Lillian (Dyson) Sowle.
Mr. Sowle is survived by a son, Edward D. Sowle; two daughters, Debra L. Kramer and Kimberly K. Sowle; two grandchildren, Christopher M. Sowle and Meghan M. Sowle; two sisters, Gladys Bartram of Florida and Verna Carafa of Vermont; and four brothers, Martin L. Sowle Jr. of Rhode Island, Russell J. Sowle of California, Emory I. Sowle of Sandy Hook, Conn. and Melvin L. Sowle of Florida.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 6, 1999 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 48 Payne Road, Danbury, Conn.

Harold Eberhardt
Harold F. Eberhardt, 66, husband of the late Rose (Iacuzio) Eberhardt, of 45 Old Sib Road, Ridgefield, died at the Danbury Hospital on Sunday, Jan. 31, 1999.
He was born in Stamford, February 13, 1932, son of the late William & Estelle (Freudenthal) Eberhardt. He grew up in Stamford and had worked as a mason. He moved to Ridgefield 35 years ago and has been a Ridgefield resident since. He was an avid gardener, hunter and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Mr. Eberhardt is survived by a son, Harold F. Eberhardt, Jr.; three daughters, Lori Scott, Cynthia Eberhardt and Rose Scutte, all of Ridgefield; two sisters, Viola Coppola of Stamford and Beatrice Calzone of Norwalk; two brothers, Robert Eberhardt of Stamford and Edward Eberhardt of Florida; seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Judith Davis, in 1990.

Natalie V. Metivier
Natalie V. Metivier, 82, wife of Roger J. Metivier, of 3 Mountainville Road, Danbury, died at the Glen Hill Convalescent Home on Monday evening, Feb. 1, 1999.
She was born in Amesbury, Mass., Feb. 14, 1916, daughter of the late Isadore and Mary (Orwat) Kowall. She moved to Danbury with her parents when she was a child and had been a Danbury resident for more than 75 years.
She had attended Danbury schools, was a member of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church and was a member of the AARP.
In addition to her husband, Mrs. Metivier is survived by a son, Robert R. Metivier of Danbury; two grandsons, Richard Metivier and Kenneth Metivier, both of Danbury; a granddaughter, Tracey Metivier of Boston and several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services and cremation will be held at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Leon Crawford
Leon Harvey Crawford, 89, of Golden Hill Road, Danbury, Conn. died at Mediplex of Danbury on Monday, Feb. 1, 1999. He was the husband of Almeda "SallyKatan Crawford.
Born July 29, 1909 in Danbury, a son of Harvey and Nellie Woodin Crawford, Mr. Crawford had been a lifelong resident of Danbury. He was employed by the former Berol Manufacturing before retiring 25 years ago. He was a member of the Central Christian Church, Danbury.
Besides his wife, Mr. Crawford is survived by a son, Leonard Crawford of Danbury, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at noon in the Hull Funeral Home, Sixty Division Street, Danbury. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Family will receive friends Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.

Alice J. Howard
Alice J. Howard of Danbury, Conn., died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 1999 at Crescent Manor in Waterbury, Conn., where she had been a patient for several months.
Alice Howard was born in Boston, Mass., July 25, 1917, a daughter of William F. and Anna V. (Norgren) Howard.
She grew up in Somerville, Mass., attending public schools there and was a graduate of Somerville High School. For most of her life, Miss Howard was a homemaker.
Alice Howard moved to Danbury in 1979 and made her home with her late sister and brother-in-law, Louise and Wallace Parkhurst, until she became a patient at Crescent Manor.
Miss Howard especially enjoyed her home, family and friends. She liked to sew and read and listen to the radio. Funny stories she told about her experiences in life will be long remembered.
She is survived by a brother, William H. Howard of Exeter, N.H.; a nephew, Douglas H. Parkhurst of Danbury; two nieces, Judith Neufer of Turbotville, Pa., and Linda Garrity of Arlington, Mass.; and several grandnieces and grandnephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Eleanor Hughes and Louise Parkhurst, and a nephew, William Hughes.

Ike Priar
Ike Priar, 49, of 366 Main Street, Danbury died Saturday, Jan. 30, 1999 at Bread & Roses, Redding, Conn. Mr. Priar was the husband of Shurida Marshall of Tampa, Fla.
He was born in Tehula, Miss., Dec. 24, 1949, a son of the late Payton and Essie (Miller) Priar.
Mr. Priar was a lifelong Danbury resident and worked in the construction industry. He was a member of New Hope Baptist Church.
Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Justin of Brewster, N.Y., and Skylark Priar of Tampa, Fla.; a daughter, Sierra Priar of Tampa; a brother, James Priar of Danbury; four sisters, Cora Lee Anderson, Claudia Nash, Mary Mourning and Josephine Priar, all of Danbury; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Priar was predeceased by a brother, C.T. Priar.

Inge J. Mancusi
Inge J. Mancusi, age 63, of Holmes Beach, Fla., formerly of Bethel, Conn., died Monday, Feb. 1, 1999 in Brookfield. She was the wife of the late John J. Mancusi.
Mrs. Mancusi was born in New Rochelle, N.Y. on Dec. 18, 1935, a daughter of the late Kurt and Erna Kulbs Hoecker. She was raised in New York, graduating from New Rochelle High School. Mrs. Mancusi and her husband moved to Bethel in 1969. She moved to Florida in 1994. She enjoyed being a Mom and a Nanny to her grandchildren.
Mrs. Mancusi is survived by sons Mark Mancusi and his wife Terri and their son Mark Jr. of Brookfield, John Mancusi Jr. of Treasure Island, Fla. and Robert Mancusi and his sons John, Michael and Matthew of Bethel; two brothers, Richard Hoecker of Virginia Beach, Va. and Werner Hoecker of Holmes Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Marion Amoroso of Bradenton, Fla. and Kathy Dexter of Brookfield, Conn.; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son, Richard Mancusi.
