Daniel V. Gatto, 93, of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on March 19, 2010. He was the husband of the late Helen Frateni Gatto. Born in Stamford on Oct. 19, 1916, he was the son of the late Antonio and Domenica Gatto and had been employed for many years for Standard News and other news delivery companies. Survivors include three daughters, Mary Ann Gatto and Carmella "Millie" Gatto of Norwalk, and Mary Helen Vollhardt of Oxford. The Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk is handling arrangements.

Somley - Helen Jakucenis Somley, age 93, of Fairfield, widow of Stephen Somley Sr., entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Born in Fairfield, Mrs. Somley was a lifelong Fairfield Town resident. Helen had worked for the Remington Arms Co. of Bridgeport and later as a domestic homekeeper at various places. She belonged to Holy Family Church and was a member of the Church Ladies Guild. She is survived be her son, Stephen Somley Jr. and his wife Darlene of Fort Myers, Florida, her daughter, Henrietta Weyant and her husband Oakley of Southbury, grandchildren Lee Weyant and his wife Sharon, Stephen Somley III and his wife Natalie, and Robert and Jeffrey Somley, great-grandchildren Olivia Weyant, and David, Angela and Leighann Somley, a brother Vincent Jakucenis and his wife Kay of Trumbull, a sister Rita Ricketts and her husband William of Florida, as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 12 noon in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with burial to follow in Mt. Grove Cemetery. Friends may call on Saturday from 10am until the time of services.

Schede - Paul Schede, age 58, of the Black Rock section of Bridgeport, husband of Christine Ivanko Schede, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Born in Bridgeport, Mr. Schede was a lifelong city resident. He worked in construction for E & F construction and later for Zeiss Construction. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose of Stratford. Paul enjoyed waterskiing and fishing, he will be remembered as an easy going and good man and will be greatly missed. The loving husband of ten years to Christine, Paul also leaves behind his brothers, Ernest Schede and his wife Sandy of Meridan and Harold Schede and his wife Patty of Southbury, a sister Carol Quoka, a loving sister in law Doris Gray of Fairfield as well as several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will take place on Friday at 8:15am in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center and at 9am in St. Thomas Church, Post Rd., Fairfield. Myers - Sandra Lee LaClair Myers, age 51, of Milford, entered into eternal rest suddenly on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Born in Milford, Sandy was a lifelong Milford resident. She had worked for BJ's wholesale club of Milford. She liked boating, fishing and going to the beach. Sandy lived life to the fullest and she enjoyed the good times that she had with family and friends. A loving mother, daughter, sister and friend, Sandy was loved by all and will be greatly missed. She is survived by her son, Gene Myers Jr. of Sandy Hook, her mother Jean Swan and her husband Frederick of West Haven, brothers Michael LaClair and his wife Patricia of East Haven and Richard LaClair of West Haven, sisters Charlene Goding and her husband Elwood, Gloria Danowski and her husband Jim, all of Stratford and Jacqueline Gray and her husband Gary of West haven her loving companion, David Graft as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father Francis LaClair and her brother Alan LaClair. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5-8pm in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Rd., Fairfield Center with a prayer service at 7:30pm. Korchman - Lillian Elizabeth Scharf Korchman, age 85, beloved wife of Julius Korchman, of Fairfield, passed away in St. Vincent's Medical Center on September 5, 2009. In addition to her devoted husband of 64 years, she will be lovingly remembered by her family including one son, Brian Korchman, and his wife, Lisa, of Milford; two grandchildren, Shannon and Kevin Korchman; two brothers-in-law, whom she raised and loved as her own after the early death of their mother, Robert Korchman and Harry Korchman, both of Fairfield; one sister-in-law, Margaret Burritt, of Florida; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Bruce Korchman; one brother, John Scharf; one sister, Louise Scharf. Born and raised in the West End of Bridgeport, Lillian had been a resident of Fairfield for most of her life. While her husband, Julius was serving his country during World War II, she worked in local Defense Industry factories to help the war effort. When her sons were older, she returned to work, and later retired as an employee of Fairfield University. She was a member of St. Emery's Church, the Ladies Guild, and the Women's Auxiliary for the American Legion- Post 143, in the Stratfield section of Fairfield. The numerous memories of Lillian as a loving, supportive wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend will be cherished. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday 915 AM in the Lesko & Polke Funeral Home, 1209 Post Road, in Fairfield Center, and 10 AM in St. Emery's Church. Her burial will be private. Margaret Maria Arthur
Margaret Maria Arthur, 82, of Norwalk died April 12 at the Notre Dame Convalescent Home.
She was born in Andover, Mass., on May 11, 1918, the daughter of Judge John W. Crawford and Anne Rita Sweeney Crawford. She grew up in Andover and in Tilton, N.H. She was a graduate of Tilton Preparatory School. She attended the University of New Hampshire and graduated from Northeastern University. She worked on the New Hampshire State Planning and Development Commission and as a children's librarian in Newton Center, Mass., and in Manchester. She was later employed at the Dodge Library at Northeastern University prior to retiring to Norwalk.
She is survived by a daughter, Catherine C. O'Hara of Norwalk; two brothers, John D. Crawford Jr. of Rockville, Md., and Charles H. Crawford of Hampton, N.H.; five sisters, Mary Sayewich of Rockwell, N.C., Jacqueline Holland of Denver, Anne Tilton of Laconia, N.H., Jane Lipman of Rochester, N.Y., and Rita Emanuel of Laconia, N.H.; and four grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Diane J. Smoler, and a brother, Gerard A. Crawford.
A memorial service and burial will take place at the Old South Church in Andover, Mass. The Spear Funeral Home, 39 South Benson Road, Fairfield, is in charge of the arrangements.

Anna Comstock Barron
Anna Comstock Barron, 83, of Norwalk, the wife of Kenneth Barron Sr., died Sunday at her home.
She was born in Saranac Lake, N.Y., on March 21, 1918, the daughter of Arthur and Mildred Sweeney Comstock. She lived in Norwalk for the past 60 years. She was employed as a cafeteria worker at Norwalk High School for many years prior to her retirement.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Whitehead of Redding; a son, Kenneth Barron Jr. of New Milford; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated yesterday at Sacred Heart Church in Georgetown. Interment followed in the Hull cemetery in Redding.

Mauro Bossone
Mauro Bossone, 92, of Danbury, the husband of Elvera Angione Bossone, died Saturday.
He was born in Rowayton on Dec. 6, 1908, and lived in Norwalk for many years before moving to Danbury. He was a retired wholesale florist. He had been very active in sports, playing semiprofessional baseball, hockey and tennis. He was honored in 1990 by the Norwalk Old Timers Athletic Association.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, John Bossone; a daughter, Maureen Green; a stepdaughter, Carol Randall; a stepson, Andrew Vena; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
A memorial service will take place Sunday at 10 a.m. at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.

Elsie C. Bowes
Elsie C. Bowes, 87, of Norwalk, the widow of John W. Bowes, died Saturday at her home.
She was born in New York City on Sept. 15, 1913, the daughter of Axel and Alma Anderson Jacobson. For many years she was employed by the Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. while living in New York. She retired from Pepperidge Farm in Norwalk.
She is survived by a son, John W. Bowes Jr. of Danbury; a daughter, Melinda Brockwell of West-port; and a granddaughter.
Funeral services took place Wednesday at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave. Interment followed in Willowbrook cemetery in Westport.

Murial J. Cardwell
Murial J. Cardwell, 58, of Norwalk, the wife of Arnold Spears, died April 7 at Norwalk Hospital.
She was born on Dec. 30, 1942, in Stamford, the daughter of William and Roxanne Alexander Johnson.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three sons, Michael Cardwell of Murfreesboro, Tenn., Andre Cardwell of Texas and Vincent Cardwell of New Haven; eight grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Jonathan G. Harris
Jonathan G. Harris, 39, of Norwalk died April 11 at Norwalk Hospital.
He was born in Norwalk on Nov. 24, 1961, the son of Labell Rose Harris of Norwalk and the late Wilbert G. Harris. He lived in the city all his life.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by two brothers, James Harris of Bridgeport and Jerry Harris of Norwalk; two half-brothers, Danny Harris of Norwalk and Billy Harris of California; two sisters, Nadine Chariott and Sandra Cuello, both of Norwalk; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a sister, Romona Harris-Bruno.
Funeral services and interment in Willowbrook cemetery in Westport were private. The Downer Funeral Home Inc., 75 East Ave., was in charge of the arrangements.
Theresa Liquori
Theresa "Tessie" Liquori, 94, of Norwalk, the widow of Angelo Liquori, died Sunday at Norwalk Hospital.
She was born in Hoboken, N.J., on Jan. 9, 1907, the daughter of Frank and Annie Verdone. She was a Norwalk resident for more than 70 years.
She is survived by a son, Angelo Liquori Jr. of Norwalk; three daughters, Josephine Lockhart of Fresno, Calif., Antoinette Galyas of Norwalk and Yolanda Joyner of Stamford; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
