VENICE, Fla. - Robert L. Weeks, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 3, 2011.
Mr. Weeks was born April 10, 1926, in Northfield, Conn., to Treadwell F. and Elizabeth Agnes (Osborn) Weeks. For many years, he was self-employed as a carpenter and home builder in Thomaston, Conn., before retiring and moving to Florida in 1970. He build his first home at the age of 22.
Mr. Weeks was past president of the Lions Club in Thomaston and a member of the Union Builders Associations of Bristol, Conn. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by his wife, Pearl I. Weeks of Venice, Fla.; a daughter, Kathleen I. (Michael) Martone of Thomaston; grandsons, Michael E. Martone III of Thomaston, and Patrick R. Martone of Watertown, Conn.; sisters, Elisabeth Newton of Torrington, Conn., and Margorie Voshell of Camden, Del.; brothers, Treadwell F. Weeks of Carlsbad, Calif., Burtis E. Weeks of Northfield, Richard R. Weeks of Thomaston, and Arthur A. Weeks, Walter M. Weeks and Henry Weeks, all of Camden, Del.
John W. Lipeika Sr.
Meat cutter, manager
WATERTOWN - Mr. John W. Lipeika Sr., 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital. He was the husband of Debra R. (Graham) Lipeika.
John was born Feb. 14, 1952, in Waterbury, son of Willa (White) Lipeika of Watertown and the late Frank Lipeika. Raised in Watertown, John attended local schools and was a graduate of Watertown High School, class of 1971. Following high school, John began his career as a meat cutter, starting with Waterbury Beef, then Pik-Wik Stores for many years, and for the last 23 years he had been employed at the Country Grocer in Thomaston as the manager of the meat department.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman and a proud member of the Thomaston Fish and Game Club, where he served on the board of directors for three years and was an avid fundraiser. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association.
In addition to his wife, and his mother, he is survived by two sons, John W. Lipeika Jr. of Thomaston. and Kyle S. Lipeika of Watertown; a daughter, Kara Lipeika-J'Anthony and her husband, John, of Terryville; a brother, Ronald Lipeika and his wife, Theresa, of Northfield; two sisters, Cyndy Lipeika and Karen Lipeika, both of Watertown; three grandchildren, Dylan, Devan and Easton; and several nieces and nephews.
William Genito
Firefighter, veteran
SALISBURY - William Genito passed away at Nobel Horizons on Saturday Feb. 12, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Rose Millies Genito, his daughter, Deborah Genito and her husband, Michael Langevin, and his two grandchildren, Henry and Sophia.
Bill Genito was born Sept. 9, 1924, the son of Ralph and Giustina Anelli Genito. Bill was 86 years old. He was predeceased by all his five brothers, Anthony, Mike, Benjamin, Dominic and Ralph Genito, and his four sisters, Lena Ballister, Lise Dean, Philomena Swenor and Mary Skarupa. Bill was also survived by several nephew and nieces.
Bill was a graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School. He served as a Marine in World War II in the South Pacific, and was a longtime member of the American Legion and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. Bill served for decades with the Volunteer Lakeville Hose Company. He retired from Salisbury School where he had been employed for many years.
Anyone who wishes to make a memorial donation in his name is asked to send it to the Nobel Horizon Employee Holiday Fund, in thanks for all their support to Bill in his last days. The family also thanks the Hospice Team for all their support.
William G. Rogers Sr.

DANBURY - William G. Rogers Sr., 64, of Danbury, the beloved husband of Flora Jean (Moore) Rogers, died Tuesday, April 14, 2009, at Danbury Hospital.
He was born July 29, 1944, in Raleigh N.C. He was educated in the North Carolina school system and in 1958 relocated to Danbury where he graduated from high school. He was a deputy sheriff for the courthouse, an advisor for the Police Academy and in 1979 became a member of the Danbury Police Department for 14 years. He was a member of the Guardian Association and the Carter L. Marshall Elks Lodge in Danbury.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three laughers, Flora Mae Rogers, Valerie Kaye (Rogers) McCarley and Terri E. Rogers of Waterbury; three sons, William G. Rogers Jr., Randy Rogers and Robert L. Rogers; 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.
Service 11 a.m. Monday, April 20, at New Hope Baptist Church, 10 Aaron B. Samuels Blvd., Danbury. The family will receive friends at 10 a.m. Arrangements are entrusted to Petteway Funeral Home, Waterbury.
Carlene M. Karas
(March 14, 1921 - April 4, 2012)
Mrs. Carlene M. (Michaud) Karas, age 91, formerly of Douglas Ave., Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Glendale Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was the devoted wife of the late John C. Karas for 60 years.
Mrs. Karas was born on March 14, 1921 in Portland, ME, daughter of the late Joseph and Claire (Charette) Michaud. She was an employee of Timex, Inc. and a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church for many years. Carlene enjoyed watching sports and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, UCONN Girls Basketball and Professional Golf. She loved horses and in her earlier years riding horses and bicycling. Carlene leaves behind her son, John J. Karas and his wife Barbara of Watertown; her grandchildren, Pamela Erickson of New Hartford and Peter Karas and his wife Deanna of Oakville; her great-grandsons, Jesse and Billy Karas and great-granddaughter Danielle Erickson; several brothers and sisters as well as several nieces and nephews and her grand-dog, Minnie. Carlene’s family would like to thank the Nurses and staff of Glendale Nursing and Rehab Center for their kindhearted and professional care shown to her during the six years she resided there and a special thank you to the staff of VITAS Hospice Care for the compassion shown to them and Carlene at this difficult time.
A funeral will be held on Saturday, April 7, 2012 at 9am from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury, with a service from 10-10:30am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home Saturday morning from 9-10am.
Mary B. Mouco
(May 2, 1916 - April 4, 2012)
Mrs. Mary (Berardis) Mouco, age 95, formerly of E. Main St., Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 04, 2012 at the Cheshire House. She was the devoted wife of the late Francisco F. Mouco.
Mrs. Mouco was born on May 2, 1916, in Waterbury, daughter of the late John and Mary C. (Santoro) Berardis. Mary was a longtime resident of East Gate Apartments, where she belonged to their association and loved playing bingo. She also enjoyed going shopping in downtown Waterbury.
Mary is survived by her son, John S. Mouco; her grandchildren Michele Mouco of Plantsville and John Mouco of Wolcott and two great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind her daughter-in-law, Dolores Mouco of Wolcott as well as several nieces and nephews. Mary was predeceased by her son, Francis “Frank” Mouco; her brother John Berardis and her sisters Rose Piazza and Elizabeth Piacentino. Mary’s family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Cheshire House for the kind and compassionate care shown to Mary during the many years she had lived there.
A funeral will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 at 9:30am from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to S.S.. Peter and Paul for a Mass at 10:30am. Robert L. Primus
(November 27, 1941 - April 3, 2012)
U.S. Veteran - Mr. Robert L. Primus, age 70, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, April 03, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital.
Mr. Primus was born on November 27, 1941 in Waterbury, son of the late Louis P. and Josephine (Davino) Primus. He was a graduate of Crosby High, Class of 1959 and he earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Connecticut. After college, Bob served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. He worked in the insurance industry for over 40 years and retired from the Crawford Insurance Agency. He was a longtime member of the National Rifle Association and enjoyed competitive shooting activities.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Allison Struyk and her husband Pieter and his grandson, Cole Struyk all of Framingham, MA; his brother Mark Primus and his wife Caroline of Watertown, his uncle Carnio “Bruno” Primus of Manchester. He also leaves behind his nieces Cybill Thomas and her husband Kerry and their children, Kyra and Kayla of Watertown and Rachel Brainard and her husband A.J. of Naugatuck as well as several cousins and great friends.

Dora P. Chateauneuf
(October 9, 1929 - April 1, 2012)
Wolcott, CT - Mrs. Dora P. (Tortora) Chateauneuf, age 82, of Wolcott, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, April 1, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph P. Chateauneuf.
Mrs. Chateauneuf was born on October 9, 1929, in Waterbury, daughter of the late Vincent and Margaret (Moreschi) Tortora. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School and worked as an inspector for Sherwood Medical for over 10 years. Following her retirement, she found joy in her work and time spent at the Wolcott Library. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and friends. She will forever be remembered for her constant ability to fill a room with laughter.
Dora is survived by her son, Mark Chateauneuf of Watertown; her daughter Robin Lindsay and her husband Tim of Wolcott; her four grandchildren, Laura Chateauneuf, Rebecca Chateauneuf, Erik Lindsay and Shawn Lindsay. She also leaves her brothers, Donald Tortora and his wife Nancy of Waterbury and Vincent Tortora of Naples, FL and her sisters Udella Tortora and Irene Nardella both of Wolcott as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Mary Lou Chateauneuf.
A funeral will be held on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 9am from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow Street, Waterbury, to St. Anthony's Church in Prospect for a Mass at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary cemetery in Waterbury. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 5-8pm.
Wallace C. Damon, III
(August 10, 1950 - March 28, 2012)
Wallace Carver Damon, III, passed away after a battle with cancer on March 28, 2012. He was 61 years of age and a longtime resident of Waterbury.
He is survived by his sisters, Melanie Damon and Barbara Damon Capsalis, as well as his companion Julia Garside-Savage.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 6, 2012 from 5-7pm at the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury. Interment will be at Pinelawn Cemetery, Long Island, NY at the convenience of the family.
