Henry L. Pettine
(March 24, 1916 - March 26, 2012)
U.S. Veteran - Mr. Henry L. Pettine, age 96, of Cheshire, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side, on Monday, March 26, 2012 at Elim Park Continuing Care Retirement Community. He was the devoted husband of Antoinette M. (DeBellis) Pettine.
Mr. Pettine was born on March 24, 1916 in Waterbury, son of the late Antonio and Asunta Pettine. He was a Wilby High School graduate and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from American International College in Springfield, MA. Henry was a proud WWII U.S. Army Veteran and was an assistant manager for the State of Connecticut Department of Labor for 34 years. Henry was an active member of the Knights of Columbus and an avid sports fan, especially Joe DiMaggio and UCONN women’s basketball.
In addition to his wife of 65 years, Antoinette, Henry is survived by his daughter, Marianne Izzo of Los Angeles, CA; his granddaughter, Melissa M. Izzo of New Haven; his daughter-in-law Linda F. Pettine of Wallingford; his brother-in-law, Sebastian DeBellis and several nieces and nephews. Henry was predeceased by his son, H. Louis Pettine, Jr. and several brothers and sisters.
A funeral will be held on Thursday, March 29, 2012 at 8:30am from the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury to Our Lady of Lourdes Church for a Mass at 10am. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday morning from 8:30-9:30am. Rose Michielli
(March 10, 1946 - March 16, 2012)
Miss Rose Michielli, age 66, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Friday, March 16, 2012 at the Country Villa Healthcare Center in Rancho Mirage, CA.
Miss Michielli was born on March 10, 1946, in Waterbury, daughter of Donata (Molly) (Forcucci) Michielli of Waterbury and the late Ralph C. Michielli. Rose was a graduate of Croft High School Class of 1964 and the University of Connecticut, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree and Certification in Medical Technology from Waterbury Hospital in 1969. After working at Waterbury Hospital she relocated to California and earned her Master’s Degree in Medical Technology from California State College, Dominguez Hills. Rose worked as a Medical Technologist and in related fields for over 40 years, most recently at Desert Hospital in Palm Springs, CA, Eisenhower Medical Center, and the Community Blood Bank in Rancho Mirage, CA. She was a communicant of St. Louis Church and a member of Gilda's Club. She loved to knit and crochet and enjoyed reading.
In addition to her mother, Rose is survived by her daughters, Anne Marie and Meaganrose; her brother Ralph Michielli and his wife Lois of Plum, PA; her sister Carmela Bilodeau and her husband David of Waterbury; several nieces and nephews and their children, aunts, uncles, cousins as well as many close friends in California who became her second family.
A memorial service will held on Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 9:30am at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 785 Highland Ave, Waterbury. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Rosalie L. Naylor
(November 10, 1948 - March 16, 2012)
Mrs. Rosalie L. (Vaccaro) Naylor, age 63, passed away peacefully on Friday, March 16, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital. Rosalie was born on November 10, 1948 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Fred and Lucy (Albano) Vaccaro.
Rosalie is survived by her daughter, Angela Naylor of Waterbury; her brother Matthew “Matty” Vaccaro and his wife Ginny of Middlebury and her sister, Barbara Vaccaro of Waterbury and two nephews, Fred and Matthew Vaccaro.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. Maiorano Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
Josephine Petti
(April 8, 1924 - March 16, 2012)
Austin, TX - Josephine (Milite) Petti, age 87, passed away suddenly on February 11, 2012 in Austin, Texas, after several years of illness, which she faced with courageous acceptance. The daughter of the late Giacomo and Rosario (Badamo) Milite, she was born in Brooklyn, New York on April 8, 1924.
One of five children, she grew up in Waterbury, Connecticut. After World War II she married
her childhood sweetheart, the late Daniel Petti. She and Daniel settled in Plymouth, Connecticut. Ahead of her time, she worked as an office manager her adult life until retirement. At that time she and Daniel moved to Dunedin, Florida, where they continued to pursue their passion for ballroom dancing. Josephine was a devoted wife of 64 years and loving mother. Her life was marked by selfless generosity and loyal, enduring friendships. She is survived by her daughters Sandra Wollenberg and Rosalyn Petti, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, who loved her and will miss her very much and who were the light of her life. Josephine leaves a legacy of joyful and loving memories for all who knew her. A graveside service for both Josephine and her husband Daniel Petti will be held on March 24, 2012 at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main Street in Waterbury, Connecticut at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions in Josephine’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492. Richard A. Zenick
(September 5, 1944 - March 16, 2012)
U.S. Veteran - Mr. Richard A. Zenick, age 67, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully with his devoted wife by his side, on Friday, March 16, 2012. He was the loving husband of Paula (Ciccomascolo) Zenick.
Mr. Zenick was born on September 5, 1944, in Waterbury, son of the late Alexander P. Zenick and his wife, the late Bess Zenick and the late Grace L. Zenick. Richard was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grammar School and Wilby High School. He received honorable mention at the Officer’s Candidate School (OCS). He served 13½ years in the United States Army as an SSG-Drill Sargent. He was a decorated Vietnam Veteran, having served 2 terms dealing with extreme combat in the war ridden zone of Vietnam, including Bien Hoa, with the 25th Infantry, 1st division, Da Nang and Pleiku. Richard was also stationed at Schofied Barracks in Oahu, Wahiawa, HI for 3 years which enriched both he and his wife’s lives permanently. Hawaii gave him great peace. He was a DAV and spent much of his time at the West Haven VA Hospital.
He enjoyed traveling to CT beaches, Cape Cod and the Bahamas, watching the Simpsons and just taking long rides to relax. Richard had a very kind and generous heart; always helping those in need and never asking for anything in return.
In addition to his wife of 45 years, Paula, Richard leaves one son, Richard Thomas Zenick and his wife, Betsy of Waterbury; four grandchildren, Blesing, Kingsten, Stratton and Rocco Zenick; his mother-in-law, Mafalda “Muffy” Ciccomascolo; his sister, Sandy Daddona of Oakville; his sister-in-law, Gerri Armento and her husband Jim; his niece, Andrea Rajotte and a nephew, David Nastri. He was predeceased by his father-in-law Thomas Ciccomascolo.
His strong love will remain with his family forever.
All services are private. Burial with full military honors will be at New Pine Grove Cemetery. Maiorano Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
Theresa Ann Jillson
(July 5, 1941 - March 13, 2012)
Mrs. Theresa Ann Jillson, age 70, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 at Waterbury Hospital.
Mrs. Jillson was born on July 5, 1941 in Waterbury, daughter of the late Carmen and Elizabeth (Pascucci) Melchione. She was a graduate of Crosby High School and earned an Associate’s Degree from Post College. Theresa was an employee with Carabetta Property Management for over 10 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her dogs Ti-ti and Cooper.
Theresa Is survived by her sons, Donald J. Jillson and his wife Laurie and Jeffrey A. Jillson, all of Waterbury and four grandchildren, Melanie Jillson, Jimmy, Devon and Blake Dwyer and two nephews, Scott and Jamie Sarracco. She was predeceased by her sister, Margaret Sarracco.
Family and friends may call at the Maiorano Funeral Home, 95 Willow St., Waterbury on Sunday, March 25, 2012 from 3-4:30pm with a service from 4:30-5pm. Burial will be private in Calvary cemetery at the convenience of the family.
Stephen J. Kloss

TERRYVILLE - Stephen J. Kloss, 37, died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011. He was the husband of DeAnn L. (Cyr) Kloss.
Stephen was born March 10, 1973, in Waterbury, son of Richard S. Kloss of Polk City, Fla., and Karen (Gooley) Moreau of Bristol. He was raised in Thomaston and attended local schools. Following high school, he took over the operations of Kloss Construction Company, which was founded by his father. Stephen loved motorcycles and was an avid rider and a member of HOG.
In addition to his wife, and his parents, he is survived by his maternal grandfather, Raymond J. Gooley of Thomaston; a brother, Richard Kloss of Tampa, Fla.; a sister, Emily Wilson of Coventry; his stepmother, Patricia C. Kloss; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 21, at St. Thomas Church in Thomaston. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Calling hours are 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the Lyons Funeral Home, 46 High St., Thomaston.

WATERBURY - A memorial Mass for Mr. Nicholas B. Perugini, 79, of 70 Lakewood Road, will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 5, at St. John the Evangelist Church, Main Street, Watertown. Mr. Perugini died Feb. 4, 2011.
Ms. Marie Caselas
Survived by three sons
WATERBURY - Marie (Landrette) Caselas died on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital. She was the wife of Anthony Caselas.
She was born in Southington, daughter of the late Ralph and Rose (Longo) Landrette.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Ronald Caselas and wife, Sheila, of Northfield, and grandson, Anthony, Michael Caselas and wife, Vicky, of Northfield, grandson, Nicholas, and granddaughter, Isabella, and Steven Caselas and wife, Diane, of Waterbury; two brothers, Joseph Landrette and wife, Jen, of Southington, and Ralph Landrette Jr. of Torrington; a sister, Anne LaPorte and husband, Joseph, of Southington; a sister-in-law, Louise Andolina; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held 11 a.m. Monday at the Della Vecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Southington. Burial will be at St. Thomas Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
