TORRINGTON - Vytautas "Vito" Rickevicius, 76, of Harwinton Avenue, formerly of Oakville, died Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was the loving husband of Socorro "Cookie" (Escribano) Rickevicius, as well as a loving father and grandfather.
Vito was born Dec. 27, 1934, in Lithuania, a son of the late Antanas and Teofile (Packauskas) Rickevicius, and lived in Torrington for the past 18 years. He was educated in Lithuania. Prior to his retirement, he was employed at Eyelet Toolmakers Inc. in Watertown. He had also worked at the former Brookside Dairy.
Vito was an avid camper who adored his grandchildren and loved sitting outside feeding the squirrels and chipmunks.
Besides his wife of 55 years, of Torrington, he leaves three sons, Eddie Rickevicius and his wife, Lisa, of Watertown, Anthony Rickevicius of Torrington, Paul Rickevicius and his wife, Melinda, of Torrington; his grandchildren, Jennifer, Amanda, Kyle, Nicholas, Cody, Tyler and Marc; and his great-grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Sarah and Nichole. He also leaves a sister, Therese Igaunis, a brother, Anthony Rickevicius, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Marie Juodis, and two brothers, Bruno Rickevicius and Albinas Rickevicius.

Service to be held Saturday
BRISTOL - Dylan A. Sherman, 19, passed away on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.
Dylan was born on May 14, 1991, in Torrington, son of Terry Sherman and of the late Maxine (Smith) Sherman.
In addition to his father, Terry, he is survived by his sister, Katrina Sherman of Bristol; his stepmothers, Caroline Hooper of Massachusetts, Janelle Sherman of Bristol; maternal grandparents, Maxwell and Lori Smith; paternal grandparents, Ellen Wanklin and Warren Sherman; and several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
A celebration of Dylan's life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at First Church of Winsted, 95 North Main St., Winsted.
Ms. Marie T. Charette
Devoted mother
WATERBURY - Marie T. (DuBois) Charette, 87, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at her home. She became the beloved widow of Patrick E. Charette in 2009, after 67 years of marriage.
Marie was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Soldier Pond, Maine, daughter of the late Edward and Roseanna (Daigle) DuBois. She was an artisan porcelain doll maker and designed and sewed their appropriate clothing. In earlier years, Marie enjoyed her annual two-week vacation in Maine to fish, as she loved the quiet. When her children were young, she would design and make their clothing and drapes for her home.
Marie became the owner of Holiday Beauty Salon and was self-employed as a hairdresser before retiring. Marie loved and lived to care for her daughter, Ruth.
She leaves her two sons, James and Rosemarie Charette of Harwinton, Larry and Susan of Wolcott; two daughters, Betty Favreau of Florida, J. Ruth Napoli of Waterbury; a sister, Theresa Grenier of Watertown; a brother, Patrick DuBois of New York; eight grandchildren, Michelle Napoli-Lipsky, Noel Hennequin, Marlaina Napoli-Bosse, Danielle, Jillian and Jessica Charette, Paul and Connor Charette; and seven great-grandchildren, Kody and Blake Hennequin, Alexander and Katelyn Lipsky, Tom Bosse Jr., and Giovanna Charette and Arianna Bosse.
Ms. Addie I. Pollard
Devoted to family
FALLS VILLAGE - Addie I. (Pixley) Pollard, a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, died peacefully on Monday, Feb. 28, 2011, at Geer Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in North Canaan. She was 76 years old. Addie was the wife of the late Calvin Holt "Kelly" Pollard who passed on Feb. 10, 1998.
She was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Starksboro, Vt., daughter of the late Fred and Bessie (Humphrey) Pixley. Addie loved her family. She was eager to help with baby-sitting for her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her three sons, Donald Pollard and his wife, Susan, of Littleton, Mass., George Pollard of North Canaan, and Kevin Pollard and his wife, Kathleen, of Falls Village; and her daughter, Lynn Scoville and her husband, Fred, of West Cornwall. She is also survived by her brother, Arthur Pixley of Lincoln, Vt., and her sister, Barbara Derby of North Billerica, Mass. Addie also leaves her grandchildren, Stephen and Frederick Scoville of West Cornwall, James Pollard of Lakeville, Christopher Pollard of Falls Village, Megan Gawel of Millerton, N.Y., Michael Pollard of Seattle, Wash., Sherrie Pollard of Manhattan, N.Y.; Johnny, Casey-Jo and Mary Pollard, all of North Andover, Mass.; and her two great-grandchildren, Michael Gawel Jr. of Millerton, N.Y., and Abbi Pollard of Seattle, Wash.
Funeral services will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, March 5, 2011, at the Newkirk-Palmer Funeral Home, 118 Main St., North Canaan 06018. Rev. Micki Nunn-Miller will officiate. Burial will follow in Lincoln Cemetery, Lincoln, Vt., at 3:30 p.m. Calling hours will be held today at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.
Lester E. Smith

SOUTHBURY - Mr. Lester E. Smith, 67, died peacefully at his home on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Mary-Gail Smith; his mother, Dorothy Armistead of Mount Dora, Fla.; his sister, Carol Fisher of San Antonio, Texas; his son, Edward Smith of Enfield; and seven grandchildren, Zackary Smith, Hunter Smith, Walker Baird, Ari Heinemann, Jaden Heinemann, Jocelyn Heinemann, and Henry Ledbetter. He also leaves stepdaughters, Laura Baird of New Fairfield, and Kathleen Heinemann of Easton, Pa., and a stepson, James Ledbetter of New York, N.Y.
Mr. Smith was born on May 7, 1943, in New Britain, a son of the late Edward Smith. He graduated from Williston Academy, attended Waynesburg College and graduated from the University of Hartford. Mr. Smith was the former president of Sonitrol Security Services of Waterbury, Danbury and Poughkeepsie, N.Y. He was also the owner and operator of the Main Street Deli in Southbury for many years.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at United Methodist Church, 3 Church St., Woodbury.

Ormonde H. 'Skip' Osborn

WOODBURY - Ormonde H. "Skip" Osborn, 77, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 1, 2011, at Waterbury Hospital surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Janet Z. Osborn.
Mr. Osborn was born on Aug. 15, 1933, in Waterbury, son of the late Ormonde and Marion (Cooper) Osborn. He served in the U.S. Army and was a Connecticut State Trooper for 27 years.
Besides his wife of 55 years, he leaves two daughters, JoAnn and her husband, David Ring, of Woodbury, and Lisa (Buesser) and her husband, Jeff Paddock, of Watertown, and a son, Ormonde "Chip" Osborn and his wife, Kathie, of Oxford. Mr. Osborn was predeceased by son, Jeffrey Hunter Osborn. He is also survived by his sister, Pam, and her husband, Fred Gyuricsko, of Watertown; two brothers, Keith Osborn of Florida, and Kevin Osborn of Woodbury; and his brother in-law, Grey Zane and his wife, Lois, of Woodbury. He leaves six grandsons, Matthew and David Barrow of Georgia, Zachary Buesser of Watertown, Timothy and Daniel Osborn of Oxford, and Bruce Harrelson of Woodbury.
A memorial service will take place at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 12, 2011, at St. Paul's Church, 294 Main St. South, Woodbury. A private burial will be in New North cemetery in the spring.
Raymond M. Haak

SOUTHBURY - Mr. Raymond M. Haak, 81, died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at his home. He was the husband of Dolores (Jones) Haak.
Mr. Haak was born Feb. 10, 1930. He received his BS degree from M.I.T. and his master's degree from R.P.I.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Raymond Haak Jr. of Kettering, Ohio; a daughter, Cynthia Ahmuty of Bronxville, N.Y.; a sister, Elaine Macca; a brother, Bob Haak; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
Raymond L. and Joanne Roy
Couple died a week apart
SOUTH WINDSOR - Raymond Leon Roy, 77, of South Windsor, died on Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2011, in Sun City, Fla. He left behind his wife, Joanne Roy, who passed shortly after him on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2011.
Raymond was born in Claremont, N.H., the son of Alphonse and Fabiola (Thibodeau) Roy. Joanne was born in Hartford, the daughter of the late Matthew and Mabel (Martyn) Slattery. The couple met in Windsor, Vt., and had been married
for over 55 years.
Raymond was a veteran of the Korean War and had retired from United Technologies as an engineer aide, while Joanne had spent most of her career in the car industry working at car dealerships in the Hartford area. During their retirement years, the couple loved attending family gatherings with their kids and grandchildren and also enjoyed bowling, gardening and playing cards.
They leave four children, Sandra Hart of Clinton, Raymond Roy and his wife, Linda, of Melrose, Barbara Mastroianni and her husband, Peter, of Woodbury and Donald Roy of South Windsor; and seven grandchildren, Bryan Hart, Jessica Manning, Christopher Hart, Heather Roy, Joshua Roy, Michael Mastroianni and David Mastroianni.
Ms. Jacqueline M. Dumaine

COTTONWOOD, Ariz. - Jacqueline Marie Dumaine, 82, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 17, 2011, after a brief illness.
Born Jacqueline Marie Cote in Montreal, Canada, on April 21, 1928, Jacqueline immigrated to Waterbury, Conn., and married
Paul E. Dumaine in July 1948. They made their home and raised their family in Oakville, Conn. Jacqueline was a devout communicant of St. Mary Magdalen Catholic Church. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Jacqueline was truly considered to be hard working, energetic and fun-loving by all who knew her. A few of her favorite pastimes were spending time with family, traveling and reading novels.
Her loving husband, Paul, passed away in November 1991. In 2003, Jacqueline relocated to Tarpon Springs, Fla., and then, most recently, to Cottonwood, Ariz.
She is survived by her six children, Linda Caffrey and husband, Sean, of Los Angeles, Calif., Robert Dumaine and wife, Toni Marie, of Thomaston, Conn., Michael Dumaine and wife, Cathy, of Oakville, Richard Dumaine of Thomaston, Dennis Dumaine of Sedona, Ariz., and Paul Dumaine of North Branford, Conn.; nine grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, sisters, Teresa and Rita; a brother, John Paul; and many nieces and nephews residing in Quebec, Canada.
Mrs. Alice M. Iorio

VENICE, Fla. - Alice M. Iorio of Venice died Wednesday, March 2, 2011, at the Manor Care nursing home in Venice. She was the widow of Joseph Iorio Sr.
Alice was born Aug. 18, 1917, in Minneapolis, Minn., daughter of Alfred and Bertha Marboe. Moving to Waterbury, Conn., in 1946, she was a devoted wife, homemaker and loving mother for years before moving to Venice in 1991. Alice loved being with family and friends and enjoyed traveling, bingo, Scrabble and crossword puzzles. Alice will always be remembered for her warm smile and sense of humor.
She leaves a sister, Joyce Morton of Woodland, Wash.; a daughter, Pat Miller and her husband, Carl, of Willingboro, N.J.; and a son, Joseph Jr. and his wife, Beverly, of Southbury, Conn. She also leaves a granddaughter, Lynne Cooper and her husband, Kevin, of Delran, N.J.; a grandson, Joe Rosselli and his wife, Christina, of Harrisburg, Pa.; two great-grandchildren, Averi and Benjamin; and many much-loved nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles Marboe of Alexandria, Minn.
