Jacklyne "Jackie" H. Murphy
WATERBURY – Jacklyne “Jackie” (Hovanes) Murphy, 65, of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 24, 2017, in the home she loved, surrounded by her family and the people she loved most. She was the wife, soulmate, and best friend of William J. Murphy for over forty years.
Jackie was born in Waterbury, February 10, 1952, daughter of the late Stanley and Jean (Mangini) Hovanes. She graduated from Kingsbury Grammar School and Wilby High School, Class of 1970. She had worked for many years as a bookkeeper and office manager in many different companies until her retirement in 2014.
Jackie loved nature and being outside, long walks on the beach at the Cape and watching the sunset into Cape Cod Bay. She loved music, and along with her husband, traveled to many Irish Festivals. There was no place she loved more than being at O’Shea’s Olde Inne in West Dennis, MA enjoying the fire and listening to live music.
She traveled to Ireland with her husband and her extended Black 47 family four times and had dreamed to go back again with her daughters. She loved to garden, the Red Sox and the UCONN Huskies, especially watching the Women’s basketball team by her fireplace with her grand dogs, Sox and Claddagh on her lap. Most important to her was living life with her family. Jackie never missed being at her daughters’ sporting events, whether it was softball, basketball, volleyball or any other activity that involved rooting them on. Her door was always open and she made sure everyone felt welcome.
She was very active in St. Margaret Church and School over the years where she taught gym and together with others organized the Fun Run in the fall at Fulton Park.
Jackie lived life to the fullest and fought pancreatic cancer head-on with courage and strength right to the end. She never complained and always put her family first.
Besides her husband, Jackie is survived by her daughters, Holly Mae Murphy and Kelly Clare Murphy Knapp and her husband Tim, both of Waterbury, her sister, JoAnn Rosa and her husband Carl of Woodbury, her brother, Mark Hovanes of Waterbury and a sister in law, Mary Hovanes of West Haven. Also, many nieces and nephews, cousins, in-laws, and too many friends to list. She was predeceased by two brothers, Anthony “Tony” Hovanes and Joseph Hovanes.
Jackie’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and the entire staff at The Smilow Cancer Hospital in New Haven, especially her nurse, Chris Drew who treated her with care and love. Also, the nurses of Hartford Healthcare at Home, Hospice Care, especially Angelica Padron for their professionalism. We would also like to thank Dianne and Paul Murphy for all their help and assistance during these last two difficult years. Jackie will be missed but her memory will live on and in us forever.
The funeral will be held Wednesday November 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Church, 289 Willow St. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. Please join us on Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. for a celebration of Jackie’s life.

Gaston "Gus" L. Lavigne
WATERBURY – Gaston “Gus” L. Lavigne, 93, of Waterbury died Thursday February 23, 2017 at his home. He was the husband of Helen G. (Jones) Lavigne.
Gus was born in Waterbury, December 12, 1923, son of the late Arthur & Evelyn (Milot) Lavigne and was a resident of Waterbury for most of his life. He was a US Army veteran of World War II, serving in the European Theater. He retired from Waterbury Farrell Foundry where he worked for 40 years as a tool & die maker. After retirement he worked for American Eyelet Company.
Gus was an avid golfer, a communicant of S.S. Peter & Paul Church, the American Legion Wolcott Post 165 and a lifetime member of the VFW Post 7330 in Oakville.
Besides his wife he is survived by 3 daughters, Kathleen Flaherty and her husband George, Sharon Payton and her husband Leslie, and Marylou Corcoran and her husband Robert, 1 brother, Armand Lavigne, 8 grandchildren, Patti, George Jr. and his wife Tara, Colleen and her husband Brendan, Kelly, Shannon, Stacie, Mollie and Kevin, and 9 great grandchildren.
Funeral will be held Monday February 27, 2017 at 10:15 a.m. from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to S.S. Peter & Paul Church for a Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial with military honors will be in All Saints Cemetery. Calling hour is Monday from 9:00 a.m. until 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home.

Robert P. Brown
Chef - Loving Son, Brother and Uncle
Waterbury - Robert P. Brown, age 35, died unexpectedly Friday October 17th at his home.
Bob was a warm loving person with a great sense of humor and an infectious laugh that would brighten up any occasion. A graduate of Holy Cross High School, his one true passion in life was cooking. Growing up in Watertown Connecticut, he worked at many fine restaurants in the area including the Watertown Country Club, The Painted Pony Restaurant, The GW Tavern, The Rock Garden Café, and the Curtis House.
Bob leaves his mother, Lenora Marco and her husband David, his father, Robert Brown Jr. and his wife June, his sister, Kristina Cavanaugh and her husband Joseph, his niece Emily, and his grandmother Rosalind Brown. He will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday October 24, 2014 at 9:00 a.m. at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main St., Waterbury. Everyone is asked to meet directly at the Basilica. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours for friends and family are Thursday October 23, 2014 at the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Mary Moore Cammisa
SOUTHINGTON - Mary Moore Cammisa, 97, formerly of Waterbury, passed away peacefully on September 2, 2017, surrounded by her loving family at her home in Southington. She was the beloved wife of the late Dr. Frank P. Cammisa, Sr. for 31 years.
Mary was born in Waterbury in 1919, daughter of the late John Patrick and Margaret (Callanan) Moore. She was a graduate of Waterbury Catholic High School and worked at Sugenheimer’s as a beautician before marrying Frank, the love of her life. After her marriage, Mary became a “stay-at-home” mom and relished her career as a homemaker.
Mary cared deeply about her family, her religion and her community. For many years, she could be seen attending all of her children’s activities at school, athletic events, theater and musical recitals. Irish by birth and Italian by marriage, she loved cooking for her family and was adept at preparing six-course holiday meals for large gatherings of family and friends. She passed her love of, and talent for, Italian food to her children and grandchildren. She was a leader in the Parent Teacher Organizations at both Blessed Sacrament and Carrington grammar schools, as well as the Ladies’ Guild at Blessed Sacrament and Our Lady of Loreto churches. She loved meeting new people and keeping up with old friends. A gracious and gentle lady, she was a smiling and happy participant at social gatherings held at the Orchards of Southington.
Mary leaves behind her five children: Mary F. Culhane and her husband, Michael, Sr. of Middlebury; Jaye C. O’Leary and her husband, David of Farmington; Catherine C. Delmonico and her husband, Thomas of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; Dr. Frank P. Cammisa, Jr. of Greenwich and Gail M. Cammisa of NYC; and M. Laurie Cammisa of Washington, D.C. She also leaves behind her seven grandchildren: Michael C. Culhane, Jr., Kathryn O’Leary Frost, Jaye P. O’Leary, Catherine Mary Delmonico, and Anne, Frank P., III, and John Patrick Cammisa, two great-grandchildren, Ryan L. Frost and Charlotte Lee Culhane, and 19 nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two sisters, Dorothy Mahan and Catherine Pudim.
The Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours will be held at the Sacred Heart Church Chapel on Wednesday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. is in charge of the arrangements.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Orchards at Southington, Hartford HealthCare at Home, and VITAS Healthcare for their care and compassion. Special thanks to Paris Jones, Eva Smith, Marie Boucher, Rose Osei and Nadine Parker for their exemplary care and kindness shown to Mary during her short illness.

Stephen F. Bouffard
MIDDLEBURY - Stephen F. Bouffard, 62, of Middlebury, died Thursday, August 14, 2014 surrounded by his family in the Vitas Inpatient Unit at St. Mary's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Barbara (Marzano) Bouffard.
Stephen was born in Waterbury December 9, 1951, son of the late Francis Bouffard and the late Elizabeth (Ricciardi) Johnson. He was a retired employee of AT&T, where he had worked as an IT analyst for thirty years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing music and collecting guitars. He was a fan of the NY Giants, NY Yankees and Ford Mustang convertibles.
Besides his wife of 39 years, he is survived by his three daughters; Dawn (Rossi) Russo of Plantsville, Kimberley (Rossi) Durette of Woodbury, and Robin (Rossi) Williams of Middlebury, three brothers; Michael Bouffard and his wife June of Oakville, Peter Bouffard and his wife Pam of Alexandria, VA, and John-Paul Bouffard and his wife Missy of Green Brook, NJ, six grandchildren; Peter & Michael Majchrzak, Danielle & Elizabeth Durette, Anthony David Gulick and Emma Elizabeth Williams. He was predeceased by a grandson, Joseph Durette.
The funeral will be Friday August 22, 2014 at 8:30 a.m. from The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St., Waterbury to St. John of the Cross Church, Middlebury for a Mass at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in North Cemetery, Woodbury. Calling hours are Thursday from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

John G. (Jack) Kearney
TORRINGTON - John G. (Jack) Kearney, Jr. 68, of Torrington, CT and Wells, ME, passed away suddenly at home on Sunday March 26, 2017. He was the beloved husband, soulmate and best friend to Edna Burton (Hankey) Kearney for 40 years.
He was the son of the late John Gleason Kearney, Sr. and the late Celestine Wolff Kearney. Jack was born in Waterbury on March 18, 1949. He was a graduate of both Sacred Heart Grammar and High Schools and St. Anselm College. He also attended The University of Bridgeport School of Law. He was employed by the State of Connecticut as a director of administrative services until retirement.
Jack was predeceased by his son, George E. Hankey, III. He is survived by his wife, Edna, his brother, Joseph Sr. and wife Stacey, two sisters, Patricia and Lorraine and two daughters, Pamela (Hankey) Orsini and husband Joseph P. and Donna Lea (Hankey) Ross and husband Robert. He was a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren; Stacy and Marci Hankey, Nicole, Lauren and Kristen Petrario, Paul and Christine Orsini including two special granddaughters Ashley and Megan Ross who shared countless memories with their "Poppa". He was also an uncle to Joseph Jr., Jeffrey, Hillary and Amy.
Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street in Waterbury, on Friday, March 31 at 9:30 a.m. Entombment in St. Peter’s cemetery in Torrington will be private at the convenience of the family. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. in Waterbury is in charge of arrangements.

Robert T. Boniecki
HOPEWELL, VA – Robert T. Boniecki, 57 passed away September 20, 2016.
Robert was born in Waterbury March 7, 1958 son of the Barbara (Sullivan) Boniecki of Waterbury and the late Francis Boniecki. He was a graduate of Kennedy High School, a US Army veteran and was employed as a truck driver.
Besides his mother he is survived by a daughter, Jessica Boniecki of Naugatuck, a son Stephen Boniecki of Randolph, MA, five brothers and sisters and two grandchildren.
