Rita C. (Reagan) Murphy
WATERBURY - Rita C. (Reagan) Murphy, 84, of Waterbury passed away peacefully Friday February 19, 2010 surrounded by her loved ones at St Mary’s Hospital. She was the wife of the late Patrick J. Murphy.
Mrs. Murphy was born in Waterbury April 8, 1925 daughter of the late William and Delia (Sheehan) Murphy. She was a lifelong Waterbury resident having graduated from St. Francis Xavier Grammar School and Waterbury Catholic High School, Class of 1942.
Rita formerly had worked in the Record Room at St. Mary’s Hospital as a Medical Record Librarian; she then worked in a doctors’ office as office manager until her marriage in 1955. After raising her family Rita then went to work for the City of Waterbury in the Human Resources Department, retiring in 1996 after 20 years of service.
Rita was a communicant of the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception and an avid bingo player.
She is survived by 1 son, Sean P. Murphy and his wife Margaret Collins Murphy of Watertown, 1 daughter, Moira McSweeney and her husband Emmett of Waterbury. 3 grandsons, James P. and Liam D. McSweeney, and Connor G. Downing and 2 granddaughters, Delia R. and Fiona G. Murphy. Also several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Monday February 22, 2010 at 9:00 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street to the Basilica of the Immaculate Conception, 74 West Main Street for a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours Sunday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.

Hector "Buster" Shepard Mordenti
THOMASTON - Hector “Buster” Shepard Mordenti, 54, of Thomaston died Wednesday February 17, 2010 at Waterbury Hospital.
Hector was born in Waterbury February 10, 1956 son of the late William and Jayne (Shepard) Mordenti. He had worked at several area bakeries over the years.
Hector loved music and taught himself how to play the drums. He was a Ham Radio Operator, enjoyed auto racing, and working on electronics.
He is survived by 1 brother, William Mordenti of Thomaston, 1 sister, Denise Z. Mordenti of Waterbury and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He is predeceased by a brother, Shepard H. Mordenti.
Funeral and burial in New Pine Grove cemetery are private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Louise Ann Monagan
Beloved Sister
SOUTHBURY - Louise Ann Monagan, 89, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2010 at the River Glen Health Care Center in Southbury.
Miss Monagan was born in Waterbury on March 27, 1920, daughter of the late Attorney Walter E. Monagan and Mary Butler Monagan. She is survived by her sisters: Marjorie Cetta Kelly of Naples, Florida and Joan Clinton of Falls Church, Virginia, and a brother, William H. Monagan of Washington, D.C. She was predeceased by three brothers: Walter E. Monagan, Jr. of Shelburne, Vermont, C. Andrew Monagan of Middlebury, and John S. Monagan III of Waterbury. Louise is also survived by many nieces and nephews including Catherine Cetta of Falmouth, Massachusetts and Attorney Philip Monagan of Middlebury.
The family is especially thankful to the loving staff at River Glen Health Center who provided Louise with affection, companionship, and care for many years.
A funeral Mass will be held Thursday, February 18th, at 10:00 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 910 Main Street South, Southbury. The burial at Calvary Cemetery, 2324 East Main Street, Waterbury will follow. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St., Waterbury is in charge of arrangements.
Joseph R. Wolff, Jr.
CHESHIRE - Joseph R. Wolff, Jr., 88, of Cheshire, formerly of Waterbury died Thursday February 4, 2010 at Paradigm Healthcare of Waterbury. He was the husband of Mary (Campanaro) Wolff of Cheshire and the late Albie (Kriksciun) Wolff and the late Ruth (Pringle) Wolff.
Mr. Wolff was born in Waterbury July 30. 1921 son of the late Joseph R. and Mary (Stanton) Wolff and had been a lifelong Waterbury resident before moving to Cheshire in 1993. He was a graduate of Crosby High School and Bentley College.
Mr. Wolff was a WWII veteran where he served with the U.S. Army Air Force as a pilot in the CBI (China Burma India Theater) of the war. He retired in 1982 from Century Brass Corporation having worked for the Scovill Manufacturing Company prior to Century Brass in the Mill Production office for 42 years.
Mr. Wolff was a communicant of the Church of the Epiphany, an avid bowler and golfer, and maintained his recreational pilot’s license for many years.
Besides his wife he is survived by 3 sons, Joseph “Jay” R. Wolff, III and his wife Ellen of Ridgefield, Thomas J. Wolff of Waterbury, and Gary M. Wolff and his wife Lois of Southington. 1 daughter, Sandy A. Wolff of Waterbury. 1 step-son, Peter Dileo and his wife Laura of Bethany, 3 step-daughters, Linda Prus and her husband Larry of Southington, Janet Scougal and her husband Andrew of Leominster, MA, and Donna Inez and her husband Virgil of Morris Plains, NJ. 1 brother, Alfred J. Wolff and his wife Mary of Cheshire. Also 15 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased 1 brother and 2 sisters and by his daughter Janet who died on January 23 of this year.
The Wolff family would like to thank Davit Kirtdaze, his caregiver over the last year, and also Paradigm Healthcare and Vitas for their care.
The funeral will be Monday February 8 at 9:30 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street to the Church of the Epiphany, 1750 Huckins Road, Cheshire for a Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial in New St. Joseph Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM at the funeral home.
Ronald J. Fields, Sr.
Ronald J. Fields Sr. (9/18/37-6/17/10) passed away at St. Mary's Hospital in Waterbury, CT June 17.
He was born in Easton, ME, and moved to CT when he was 19 years old. Ron was a firefighter for the City of Hartford for Company 16.
He is survived by his children, Ron J. Fields Jr. of CT, Joseph Fields of CT, Michelle La Plant of Florida, and Jimmy Fields of CT; sister and husband MaryJane and Bill Grady of Waterbury, CT; niece, Brenda Bourdeau of ME; and nephew, Lyn Broussard of CT. Also, several grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Ron was pre-deceased by his mother Lillian Pratt of CT; his father Alfred J. Field of ME; and his sister Phylis Crawford of ME.
Services are to be held graveside at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Platt Rd., Watertown CT, at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, June 25, 2010.
Maureen (Lynch) Cianciolo
MANCHESTER - Maureen (Lynch) Cianciolo, 73, formerly of Thomaston and Waterbury died suddenly Tuesday June 15, 2010 at Manchester Memorial Hospital.
Maureen was born in New Haven on November 18, 1936. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Nell (Sweeney) Lynch. She graduated from Thomaston High School and Post Junior College of Commerce.
Maureen retired from The City of Waterbury in the 1990’s and was a communicant of S.S. Peter and Paul Church.
Maureen, beloved mother, is survived by a son, Thomas Cianciolo of Manchester, a daughter, Lisa Damiano and her husband Richard of South Windsor. 2 grandchildren, Anthony Cianciolo and Kimberly Laliberte. 3 sisters, Rose Nieman and her husband Jim of Hamden, Betty Grohoski of Watertown, Clare Clark of Wallingford, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday June 19, 2010 at 11:15 AM at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road, Waterbury. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery, Thomaston at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street is in charge of arrangements.
Teresa "Terri" H. Deschaine
WATERTOWN - Teresa “Terri” H. Deschaine, 64, of Watertown, passed peacefully from the loving hands of her family into the loving hands of God on Friday June 4, 2010 at the home of her brother after a courageous six month battle with cancer.
Terri was born in Waterbury January 31, 1946 daughter of the late Herbert and Hilda (Berube) Deschaine. She enjoyed over four decades working with her friends at Jonathan’s Coiffures in Watertown. She enjoyed dancing and was a member of the ChaRumBo Dance Club for fifteen years.
Terri is survived by her three siblings: Elmer Deschaine and his wife Marion of Watertown, Rita Philibert and her husband Marcel of Torrington, and James Deschaine and his wife Naomi of Bristol. Also her longtime companion of thirty years, Thomas Meccariello of Watertown, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary Jane Neary.
Terri was well loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed by all. Her family would like to thank the nurses, aides, coordinators, social workers, and volunteers at the VNA for their countless hours of help and inspiration that they gave them.
A celebration of Terri’s life will be Thursday June 10th at 11:00 AM at St. Georges Episcopal Church, corner of Route 188 and Tucker Hill Road, Middlebury. Entombment will be in the Queen of Peace Mausoleum at Calvary cemetery at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.
