PROSPECT - Kerin Carmody, 53, formerly of Seymour, died Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Paradigm Healthcare Center in Prospect.
Eleanor "Ellie" L. Martin
WATERBURY – Eleanor “Ellie” (Lotvis) Martin, 93, of Waterbury died Thursday February 18, 2010 at Abbott Terrace Health Center. She was the widow of John F. “Choppsie” Martin.
Ellie was the daughter of the late Victor and Mary (Bendler) Lotvis. She was a lifelong resident of Waterbury, spending her early days in the Brooklyn section of the city before moving to Baldwin Ave. in the South End. She graduated from Waterbury Catholic High School in 1933 and attended Post Junior College. After college she worked as a teller for several area banks before marrying John F. Martin. The couple lived on Piedmont Street where they raised a family of five girls and four boys. Ellie was most proud of her role as a mother to her large family.
Ellie was active in local Democratic politics and appeared in an early television commercial for Mayor Edward D. Bergin, Sr. When her children where grown, she worked for many years in the micro-film department of the Silas Bronson Library.
For the past six years Ellie has resided at the Abbott Terrace Health Center where she enjoyed singing, bingo, painting, and other activities. She was also an avid reader. Ellie was a member of St. Francis Xavier Church for over 70 years.
Ellie is survived by her nine children: Charles John and his wife Kathleen of Bath, ME; Maureen Eleanor and her husband Rob Secker of Bloomfield; Joan Claire and her husband Geoff Whan of Woodbury; John Francis, Jr. and his wife Gloria of Holly Hill, FL; Susan Mary and her husband Richard Nelson of Warren, PA; Lawrence David and his wife Lezel of Concord, NC; Thomas Jude of Daytona Beach, FL; Eleanor Ann and her husband Charles Kelly of Wolcott; and Claire Helen and her significant other, Jay Spear of Stratford. A daughter Elizabeth Ann died shortly after birth. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two nieces, and two nephews.
The family graciously thanks all of the employees at Abbott Terrace especially the staff on 2-West, 3-West, and 2-East and the Recreation Dept. for their love and care of Ellie these past years.
Funeral Service will be held Saturday February 20, 2010 at 10:00 AM at the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St.. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hour is Saturday from 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM at the funeral home.

Thomas E. Petrosky
WATERBURY- Thomas E. Petrosky, 54, of Waterbury died unexpectedly Friday February 5, 2010 at his home. He was born in Waterbury July 9, 1955 grandson of the late Josephine (Yuskas) Blake. He was a lifelong Waterbury resident having graduated from St. Joseph Grammar School and Kennedy High School.
Tom was currently employed at Olin-Somers Thin Strip in Waterbury where he worked for the past 25 years. He was an avid bowler and golfer and played in leagues at Lakewood Lanes and Western Hills Golf Course, and was also a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Teresa St. John and her husband Jim of Southington. 4 grandchildren, Alana, Ryan, Cara, and Emma St. John. 9 brothers and sisters, James Petrosky, Joseph Petrosky, Joanne Petrosky, Jean Adam, Barbara Petrosky, Anne Bates and her husband Bradford of Waterbury, Mary Ellen Petrosky, Lawrence Petrosky, and George Petrosky. 1 uncle, Robert R. Blake of Plymouth, 1 aunt, Patricia B. Blake of Waterbury, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Wednesday at 9:00 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street to St. Joseph Church, 46 Congress Ave. for a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

Joseph H. Kalosky
WATERBURY - Joseph H. Kalosky, 90, of Waterbury, died peacefully Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at his home. He was the husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Shea) Kalosky.
Mr. Kalosky was born in Waterbury September 3, 1919 son of the late Joseph and Catherine (Hector) Kalosky and graduated from Russell Grammar School and Wilby High School where he excelled in baseball and basketball. He was drafted to play baseball by the St. Louis Cardinal’s and played semi-pro basketball in Waterbury for the West Side Speedboys.
Mr. Kalosky was a U.S. Army Air Corps Veteran having served during World War II in the Pacific Theater on a B-24. He worked as a firefighter for the City of Waterbury for over twenty five years retiring in September of 1978, having served his entire career at Engine 10 on Field Street. He was a member of the Waterbury Police and Fire Retirees Association, VFW Oakville Post 7330, Willow Plaza Neighborhood Association, and a communicant of Our Lady of Loreto Church.
Besides his wife of 62 years, he is survived by his children; Greg Kalosky of Waterbury, Michael S. Kalosky and his wife Brenda of Waterbury, Peggy Ann Jackson and her husband Dennis of Waterbury, and Brian J. Kalosky and his wife Barbara of Plymouth, five grandchildren; Greg, Brian, Kevin, and Joe Kalosky, and Sarah Jackson, one brother; Harold "Buddy" Kalosky of Southington, and several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by one brother, William Kalosky, and two sisters, Rita Lausauskas and Elizabeth Leonard.
The Kalosky family would like to thank the Waterbury Fireman’s Aid Association, the staff of St. Mary’s Hospital O’Brien 4, and the many doctors and caregivers who helped Joe.
The funeral with Waterbury Fire Department honors will be held Tuesday February 9th at 9:00 AM from the Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow St. to Our Lady of Loreto Church, corner of Ardsley Road and Bunker Hill Ave. for a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday February 8th from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
Kathleen Mary (Sullivan) Doolan
WOLCOTT - Kathleen Mary (Sullivan) Doolan of Wolcott, formerly of White City in Waterbury’s East End died Wednesday February 3, 2010 at her home. She was the wife of Michael F. Doolan.
Kathleen was born in Waterbury daughter of the late Jeremiah and Barbara “Honey” (Wright) Sullivan. She graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Central Connecticut State University with a bachelor’s degree, and received her master’s degree from Quinnipiac University.
Kathleen taught for many years in the Waterbury School System and was currently a teacher at Rotella Magnet School. Thanks to her good friends she became an avid Boston Red Sox fan.
Besides her husband of 22 years she is survived by her two daughters, Olivia Honey Doolan and April Rose Doolan, both of Wolcott, two sisters and their families, Leslie & Sean Mulhall and their children, J. Patrick, Seth, and Riley of Naugatuck, and Cheryl and Randall Doyle and their children, Kevin & Steven Guralnick, and Raye and Bridget Doyle of Marstons Mills, MA. Kathy is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The Doolan family would like to thank all of Kathy’s friends for their support during her illness. They would also like to thank Kathy’s Angels, the VNA, the Harold Leever Center, and NCI of Bethesda, MD.
Funeral Mass will be held Saturday February 6, 2010 at 10:30 AM at S.S. Peter & Paul Church, 67 Southmayd Road. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Kaitlynn Eileen Fisher
TOWSON, MD - Kaitlynn Eileen Fisher, 24, of Towson, MD, formerly of Waterbury died Saturday June 19, 2010 in Baltimore from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Kaitlynn was born in Waterbury on March 12, 1986 daughter of Stephen J. and Joan (O’Neill) Fisher of Terryville. She was a graduate of St. Margaret Grammar School, The Taft School, Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, and then in 2009 she received her Master of Materials Engineering degree from Johns Hopkins University.
Kaitlynn was currently working as a contract employee for the Army Research Laboratory in Aberdeen, MD.
Kaitlynn was an avid runner having just completed a 10 mile race on Saturday morning. While in school she was captain of the Johns Hopkins Lady Birds Dance Team, was a member of the Society of Women’s Engineers, and loved to travel.
Besides her parents Kaitlynn is survived by her brother, Matthew F. Fisher and his wife Dana of Brooklyn, NY, her maternal grandmother, Rita F. O’Neill of Naugatuck, and her aunt, Nancy Kirby and her husband David of Leesburg, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 25, 2010 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Church, 289 Willow Street, Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Burial in St. James Cemetery, Naugatuck is private and at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street is in charge of arrangements.

Linda M. (Couture) Wood
WOLCOTT – Linda M. (Couture) Wood, 45, of Wolcott passed away Saturday May 9, 2009 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the loving wife of Joseph K. Wood for 23 years.
Linda was born April 1, 1964 in Waterbury to the late Wilfred & Julia (Bowes) Couture and graduated from Wilby High School and W.F. Kaynor Regional Vocational Technical School with a degree in nursing. She worked as a nurse at Connecticut Counseling Center.
Linda was a parishioner of St. Michael’s Church in Waterbury and in her spare time enjoyed cooking, the beach, and mostly spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her husband she is survived by her sons, Ryan and Brennden, and a daughter Hannah. She is also survived by her three brothers, Robert Couture and his wife Liz of Oxford, Richard Couture of Waterbury, and Stephen Couture and his wife Suzanne of Manchester, her two sisters, Patricia Paradis of Waterbury, and Anne Thomas and her husband Scott of Ohio. She is also survived by her sister in law, Michelle Wood-Duncan of Waterbury, her two brother in laws, Kevin Wood and his wife Judy of Oxford, and Timothy Wood and his wife Diane of Framingham, MA, and her mother in law Barbara Wood of Waterbury.
The Funeral Mass will be Thursday May 14, 2009 at 10:00 AM at St. Michael’s Church, 62 St. Michael Dr., Waterbury. Friends are asked to meet directly at the church. Richard "Curly" Brown
WATERBURY - Richard "Curly" Brown, 71, of 78 Windy Drive died Friday December 14, 2007 at his home. He was the husband of Shirley (O'Connor) Brown.
Mr. Brown was born in Waterbury February 8, 1936 son of the late Benjamin and Ethel (Chipman) Brown. He was a lifelong Waterbury resident having graduated from St. Margaret Grammar School and Leavenworth High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Mr. Brown formerly worked at Scovill Manufacturing and then Century Brass in management as a Supervisor. He then was employed at Plymouth Springs in Bristol from where he retired.
Mr. Brown loved working in his yard and had been an avid Brooklyn Dodger fan and a long suffering Mets and Jets fan. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Besides his childhood sweetheart and wife of 46 years he is survived by 2 sons, Mark A. Brown and his wife Joy of Waterbury and Timothy R. Brown and his wife Sandra of Lawrenceville, GA. 1 daughter, Krista M. Pender and her husband Todd of Cromwell. 5 grandchildren, Melissa, Christopher, Matthew, Robby and Shelby Brown. 1 brother, Robert Brown of Waterbury and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by 1 brother, James Donnelly and 2 sisters, Evelyn Senkus and Dolores Bussdieker.
Funeral Mass will be on Tuesday December 19 at 10:00 AM at the Immaculate Conception Church, 74 West Main Street. Burial with military honors in New Pine Grove Cemetery. Calling hours are private. The Murphy Funeral Home, 115 Willow Street is in charge of arrangements.
