Gilberte (Chaisson) Morin, 89, of Bristol, widow of Claude Morin, died on Monday, (December 14, 2009) at Sheriden Woods Health Care. Gilberte was born in Van Buren, ME on August 17, 1920 and was a daughter of the late Simon and Olive (Dumont) Chaisson. She has resided in Bristol since 1950 and was a member of St. Ann Church, Bristol. Gilberte is survived by two sisters, Rita Roy and Theresa Lafreniere, both of Bristol; a brother, Gilbert Chaisson of Rocky Hill; three grandchildren, Steven Morin and Colette Coglioti, both of Bristol, and Daniel Morin of Naugatuck; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Raymond Morin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday (December 14, 2009) at 10 AM at St. Ann Church, Bristol. Jeffrey E Pyzynski
Jeffrey “Jeff” E. Pyzynski, 50, of Bristol husband of Susan (Bridgman) Pyzynski, died on Wednesday January 27, 2010 after a long courageous battle with cancer, at John Dempsey Hospital, Farmington. Jeff was born in New Britain on March 12, 1959 and was the son of Edward and Florence (Shilosky) Pyzynski. Jeff resided in Bristol for the past 26 years and was employed at the UCONN Health Center as an IT Specialist. Jeff previously worked for Moore Medical Corp in New Britain. He had a great love for computer sciences, technology and aquariums. He was happiest when visiting Disney World with his family. In addition to his wife and parents, Jeff is survived by two daughters, Sarah Pyzynski and her fiancé Manny Mangiafico of Farmington, and Kristine Pyzynski of Virginia; a sister and brother-in-law, Kim Romano and her husband Ron of Plainville; a Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Bill Bridgman and Ellen Bridgman both of Bristol; and his mother-in-law, Ann Bridgman of Farmington. Several nieces and nephews including; Taylor and Ashley Romano of Plainville, Lisa, Steven, and Kelly Bridgman all of Bristol, along with several aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be held on Monday February 1, 2010, 11 AM at Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Burial will be at the convenience of the family in Peacedale Cemetery. Lucy Barbara Masocco
Lucy B. (Dzioba) Masocco, 83, of Bristol, beloved wife of William J. Masocco, died on Saturday, January 16, 2010, at Bristol Hospital. Lucy was born June 28, 1926 in New Britain, and was a daughter of the late Lawrence and Stella (Bak) Dzioba. She was a long-time resident of Bristol, and was a member of Hillside Community Church, Bristol. Lucy is retired from Superior Electric and she enjoyed movies and crafts. Lucy is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William M. Masocco and his wife Kristin of Meriden, and a daughter Maryanne Masocco of Bristol; two grandchildren, Garret and Erik Masocco both of Meriden; two brothers and a sister-in-law Donald Dzioba and Joseph Dzioba and his wife Alice all of New Britain; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a sister Cecilia Sperdutti. Funeral services will be held on Monday (January 18, 2010) at 10 AM at the Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol. Doris Thibodeau
Doris (Lockshire) Thibodeau, 78, of Bristol, widow of Thomas D. Thibodeau, Richard Campbell, and the father of her children Dominic Papapietro, died Saturday, December 19, 2009 at Bristol Hospital. Doris was born September 25, 1931 in Waterbury and was a daughter of the late Arthur and Anna (Sicard) Lockshire. A Bristol resident most of her life she was a graduate of Bristol High School. She was employed at Superior Electric prior to her retirement and was a member of the former Trinity Episcopal Church. Mrs. Thibodeau is survived by three daughters: Dorothy Bousquet and her husband Robert, Debra Papapietro, and Donna Bell and her husband Gary, all of Bristol; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Doris was predeceased by a daughter, Diana Lyons. The family wishes to offer heartfelt thanks to Doris’ good friends and spirit builders, The Rev. Russel Leitch and Mrs. Nancy Leitch, for their pastoral and spiritual support for over 20 years. Jeffrey P. Dziob
Jeffrey P. Dziob, 38, of Bristol, beloved husband of Melissa (Amenta) Dziob, died from injuries sustained from an accident in Bristol on Sunday, December 27, 2009. Jeffrey was born in Hartford on December 5, 1971 and was a son of Sharon (Palmer) Dziob Young and her husband Gary of Cave Creek, AZ and the late Edward Dziob. He grew up in Southington where he was a graduate of Southington High School in 1990 and Central Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in 2005. He moved to Bristol in 1996, and was employed by the Bristol Post Office. He was a great loving father, the best husband anyone could ask for, and was loved by everyone. In addition to his wife and mother, Jeffrey is survived by his loving children, Nathan and Abigail Dziob of Bristol; a brother and sister-in-law, Christopher and Trish Dziob of Southington; a sister, Alicia Dziob of New Britain; paternal grandparents, Peter and Olga Zygma of Bristol; stepmother, Ann Dziob of New Britain; nieces and nephews, Joshua and Emily Dziob, Kayla and Anthony Amenta, and Brianna and Taylor Dojan; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sal and Sue Amenta of Bristol; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Thomas and Pamela Amenta of Bristol; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lisa and Robert Velarde of Summerville, SC; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Jane A. Chapdelaine
Jane (Harper) Tewksbury Chapdelaine, 57, of Farmington, CT, wife of Leo Y. Chapdelaine, died Sunday (December 27, 2009) in Farmington surrounded by her family. Jane was born in Bayshore, New York on April 26, 1952 and was a daughter of the late Benjamin J. Harper Jr. and Doris (Byrne) Harper. Jane grew up in Babylon Village, Long Island, resided in Connecticut most of her life, and in Farmington for the past seven years. She attended St. Joseph College in West Hartford, and received her Master’s in Education from Central Connecticut State University. Jane taught elementary school at Farm Hill and Spencer Elementary Schools in Middletown for over 30 years, before recently retiring. In addition to her husband, Jane is survived by a son, Wesley C. Tewksbury Jr. of Boston, MA and a daughter, Sara J. Tewksbury of Farmington; two brothers, Richard H. Harper of Garden City, NY and John M. Harper of West Palm Beach, FL; three sisters, Mary E. Sullivan of Haddam, Dorothy D. Harper of Lake Wales, FL, and Margaret A. Brophy of San Clemente, CA; four grandchildren, twin granddaughters, Brookelyn and Haley Johnson, and Olivia Morgan Chapdelaine and Noah Chapdelaine; step-children, James L. Chapdelaine and Amanda K. Chapdelaine; and many nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, and grand-nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Benjamin J. Harper III. John F. Porrini Sr.
John F. Porrini, Sr., 90, of Bristol, husband of 57 years of the late Elsie (Krampitz) Porrini, died on Monday (January 4, 2010) at Bristol Hospital. John was born in Bristol on April 23, 1919 and was a son of the late Giuseppe and Carolina (Pellini) Porrini. A lifelong Bristol resident, he was employed at the New Departure forge plant, was a Supernumerary with the Bristol Police Department, and was a self-employed plasterer before going to work at Barnes Group where he retired in 1983. He was an auxiliary trooper with the Connecticut State Police, enjoyed socializing at the Bristol Polish Club, and was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Bristol. John is survived by two sons and daughters in law, John F. Porrini, Jr. and Diana Porrini of Plantsville, and Mark A. and Tina Porrini of Torrington; a daughter and son in law, Caroline P. and Bill McClendon of Pleasanton, CA; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held on Friday (January 8, 2010) at 11 AM at Immanuel Lutheran Church. Burial will follow in Peacedale Cemetery, Bristol. Richard T. Duprey, 57, of Bristol, beloved husband of Carol (Gagne) Duprey, died Thursday, November 12, 2009 at the Bristol Hospital. Rick was born in Bristol on May 22, 1952 and was a son of Gilberta (Leger) Duprey of Bristol and the late Richard J. Duprey. He resided in Bristol all his life and was employed at Ticket Network of Vernon. He was a member of St. Gregory Church, Bristol and was active in youth athletics. Rick will be long remembered for the constant love and enthusiasm he has shown for his family. In addition to his wife and mother, Rick is survived by a son, Cpt. Christopher T. Duprey stationed with the U.S. Army in Iraq and his wife Kathleen Finnegan-Duprey; a daughter, Mary Katherine Duprey of Bristol; a sister, Shirley Conrod of Bristol; a granddaughter, Brooklynn Duprey; several nieces and nephews; and two best friends, Jack Krampitz and Peter Gaski both of Bristol. He was predeceased by a sister, Carolyn Greene and a brother-in-law, Bob Conrod. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 17, 2009, 9 a.m. from Funk Funeral Home, 35 Bellevue Ave., Bristol to Saint Gregory Church, Bristol for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Bristol. Avery, Meredith D.
Meredith Davidson Avery, 86, of Riverside, CT passed away peacefully on June 8, 2015. She was born in New Rochelle, NY on September 3, 1928. Meredith graduated from Mount Holyoke College with a Bachelor of Arts in Religion in 1950. Her first job was with Burson-Marstellar in New York City. Later she worked for the Town of Greenwich Public Health Service Dept. until she retired in the mid -1990's. Meredith was a member of PEO, an international philanthropic organization which supports Berea College in Appalachia. She was also an active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Stamford
for over 60 years. Meredith enjoyed travelling in the US and Europe, and her fondest memories were spending summers on Lake George a family tradition that continues
to this day. She took special joy from her 4 grandchildren.
Meredith is survived by her son, Hal Avery and his wife Karin and their children Gwendolyn and Geoff, as well as her 2 daughters, Martha Avery Bates and her husband Tom and their children Sarah and Emily, and Elizabeth Hill Avery and her husband Alex Bullock. In addition, she is survived by her brother, Robert M. Davidson and his wife Kristin as well as her sister Margaret D. Zone and her husband Robert. A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church of Stamford on Saturday, June 20 at 11 am. Tenney, Delbert
Noted Cult-Classic Filmmaker, Delbert Tenney, 82, has died.
Stamford, CT (February 25, 2013) - Del Tenney passed away quietly at his home in Jupiter, FL, Thursday morning, February 21st.
Del Tenney was born in Mason City, Iowa, and moved to California with his parents when he was 12. Attending Los Angeles City and State College, he developed an interest in the theater, became an actor and made a living at it for most of his young adult life. He acted on Broadway and did extra work in films Stalag 17 (1953), The Wild One (1953) before moving to New York. Following successful stints doing summer stock, he moved behind the camera as assistant director on some low-budget pictures. He then co-wrote and co-directed (without credit) his production of Violent Midnight (1963), a Stamford, CT made suspense thriller.
Mr. Tenney next made B-movie horror history bringing to the screen cult classics like The Horror of Party Beach (1964) and The Curse of the Living Corpse (1964). Along with his wife, Margot Hartman Tenney, Del created the acclaimed Hartman Theater in Stamford, CT. Del and Margot produced and acted in shows everywhere from the Sharon Playhouse, Sharon, CT to the Newport Theater, RI, and Westport Country Playhouse, Westport, CT, as well as, the Helen Hayes Theater in Nyack, NY. Their philanthropic and artistic support of a multitude of theaters was widely known, including The Musical Theater Works in New York City and The Palm Beach Shakespeare Festival in Jupiter, FL.
Del was an instrument rated pilot for many years. He was also involved in real estate. He built spec homes in Lakeville, CT; Marathon, FL; and condominiums in Middletown, RI. He ran Hanover Realty with his son, Matthew and was the president and co-executive director of The First Stamford Corporation.
More recently, Mr. Tenney formed Del Mar Productions with his wife, Margot, and Kermit Christman. They produced The Clean and Narrow (1999), a Palm Springs International Film Festival selection, and premiered on HBO; Do You Wanna Know a Secret? (2001) (filmed in Jupiter, FL), a Palm Beach International Film Festival Selection, which was purchased by Blockbuster Entertainment; and Descendant (2003) for Showtime, starring Katherine Heigl.
Del Tenney resided in Jupiter, FL and Greenwich, CT. He is survived by his lovely wife, award-winning actress and patron, Margot Hartman Tenney, as well as children Matthew Tenney, Karen Tenney, and Jesse Tenney; along with seven grandchildren: Asara, Gwen, Claire, Curtis, Kaya, Ariana and Valerie.

Neil Michael Godleski died suddenly on August 22 in his 31st year. Devoted son of Heidi and Dan Godleski of Norwalk, CT, dear brother of Maria Elena Godleski of Burlington VT, grandson of the late Stanley and Suzanne Godleski of Toms River NJ and grandson of Lorraine Dwyer Schreiner and the late Sigfried A Schreiner of Norwalk, CT, nephew of Suzanne and William Murphy of Southampton, NY and cousin of Selena Zepf and her son James Zepf. Neil attended Fairfield Prep and went on to graduate from Norwalk High School in 1997, and most recently was completing his Biology degree at Catholic University of America in Washington DC, where he a long time employee of Philips Restaurant. He was a great lover of outdoor adventure and lived life to the fullest. He worked hard beside his father to earn his black belt in Tang Se Do karate at the old Roosevelt School.
As an adult he enjoyed ju jitsu. Living and working in DC, Neil befriended many people and in doing that taught himself to speak fluently in several languages. A determination all his own, but started from his mother a lifelong language teacher. Neil was a gentle soul loved by everyone he knew. He leaves behind a loving family and lifelong friends.
His family will receive friends on Wednesday, Aug 25, from 4 to 8 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, 11 am at St. Philip Church, 1 Fr. Guillermo Mendigorin Afable, age 68, of Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Thursday, August 12, with his family at his side. He was the husband of Caridad Mendoza Afable. Born on November 20, 1941 in Subic Zambales, Philippines, Guillermo was the son of the late Luis S. Afable, Sr. and the late Flocerfina Mendigorin Afable. Guillermo worked for the Whole Foods Market in Westport for 7 and a half years in the customer service department and in 2008 was named Best Employee of the Year for the northeast region of the company. He was a graduate of Colegio de San Juan de Letran in The Philippines and was also a professional basketball coach there; a sport he loved to play in younger years and continued as a fan in that and baseball.
In addition to his wife, Guillermo is survived by his three sons and their wives; Gary Louis and Evelyn Sanchez Afable of Norwalk, Gene Louis and Rosemarie Hernandez Afable of The Philippines and George Louis and Imelda Serrano Afable of Nevada, 5 grandchildren, Gino, Gian, Gabrielle, Gillian and Ryan, a brother, 3 sisters and several nieces and nephews.
