Robert Costa, 45, a very special son of Lee and Roy Costa, formerly of Norwalk, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2010. Robert attended Norwalk public schools and was employed by STAR Inc from 1984- 2005, where he received the Jeannette Shiver award for quiet intervention in the lives of friends in need. A true STAR among stars for his sincerity in contributing whatever he can, wherever he can, to meet the true needs of others, for having openly displayed the caring and tender heart of a teacher that those around him may be better equipped, more productive workers. For the earnest affection so abundantly bestowed to all and for consistence and reliability which render these selfless qualities much more potent and precious.
Robert especially enjoyed his bowling league, swimming, and music. He was a longtime parishioner of St. Philip Church.
Robert is survived by his parents Lee and Roy Costa, of Shelton, CT and his siblings Mary Bornfriend of Wheaton, IL, Roy Costa of Cranston, RI, Michele Kudlicki of Shelton, CT, Joan Troy of Newtown, CT, and his aunt, Christine Giorlando, also of Shelton, CT. Robert will also be sadly missed, but fondly remembered by his nine nieces and nephews.

Prescott W. Harris - age: 81

Prescott “Buzz” Harris, 82, of Norwalk, died on June 26, 2010 at the CT Hospice in Branford after a fight with cancer. He was born in Randolph, MA on July 11, 1928 to the late Helen and Prescott Harris of Stoughton, MA. He graduated from Stoughton HS and went on to receive a BA degree in Government from Bates College in 1952. He was married
to Grace Ulrich Harris for 58 years.
Buzz began working for Milliken Woolens in Lewiston, ME and transferred to New York City to the sales office in 1960 at which time he moved to Norwalk, CT. Over the years, Buzz had a varied career in the textile business.
He is survived by his wife Grace; his daughter Gail and husband Orrie Zolluccio of Wilton; his son Dana and his wife Carole and his 4 grandchildren Jess, Kate, Sara and Evan Harris of Brookfield, CT. He is also survived by a sister Lois Ullock of Stoughton, MA. He was predeceased by a brother Richard Harris and a sister June LaRiccia.
He was a member of the Shore and Country Club for 45 years. He loved his family, sports and politics. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 1, 2010 from 5 to 8 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk, CT 06850. Funeral service will be private.

Marie Pongonis, age 90, formerly of Norwalk, died August 29, 2010 at home in Conway, SC. Born in Scranton, PA, the daughter of the late Sylvester and Stephanie (Romach) Sedelnick. Marie graduated valedictorian from St. Joseph Hospital Nursing School in Stamford, where she continued her career in Nursing. She also worked as a Nurse’s Aide in Maternity at Norwalk Hospital. She was past president of Catholic Nurses Assoc., and a member of the Women’s Guild at St. Mary Church.
Predeceased by her husband Anthony J. Pongonis Sr., and her siblings; Carl, Gerald and Nicholas Sedelnick, Anastasia Czaplinski, Ann Kovatch and Katherine Misorek. Marie is survived by her loving children; Anthony Joseph Pongonis Jr. and his wife Geraldine, Kathleen Moulton and her husband David, and Christine Pongonis, 2 cherished grandchildren; Kimberly and Kara, 5 great-grandchildren; Crystal, Brittany, Derek, Kaitlin and Piper, and a great- great-grandchild, Shayla.

George Turner Macintyre, age 96 of Norwalk, husband of the late Rosina (Constable) Macintyre, died on Monday, September 13, 2010 at Waveny Care Center, New Canaan. Born in Port Chester, NY, the son of the late James and Minnie Macintyre, he was a manager for Connecticut Light and Power. George was a very active volunteer at the Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk for many years. He is survived by his three loving children; George Macintrye, Gary Macintrye and his wife Marge, and Marcia Sloat and her husband Gordon, as well as three grandchildren, Gregory Macintyre, Stephen and Scott Sloat. Alfred J. LaRose, Jr. age 76, of Norwalk, died on Saturday, September 18, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Norwalk, he was the son of Alfred and Sophia (Piechota) LaRose. Alfred had served in the Armed Forces during peacetime and enjoyed feeding his two cats. He is survived by a step-brother, Kenneth LaRose and his wife Janet of Lakeland, FL.
Funeral services were held privately. He was interred with his late father at Riverside Cemetery, Norwalk.
Margaret Bardos

Margaret E. (Hoyt) Bardos
Margaret E. Bardos, age 85 and a lifelong resident of East Norwalk, died peacefully at the Norwalk Hospital on Tuesday. She was the wife of Daniel E. Bardos for 59 years. Margaret was born in East Norwalk on June 14, 1925, daughter of the late Frank George Hoyt and Margaret Elizabeth Eldridge Hoyt. She attended local schools and had worked for Pepperidge Farm and Stafford & Higgins. Margaret was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. Besides enjoying the role of grandmother, she had a number of hobbies, which included sewing, crocheting and camping with her family. In later years she loved to be near the ocean and spend much of her time at her home in Cape Cod.
In addition to her husband, Margaret is also survived by her two sons, their wives and grandchildren, Robert and Wendy Bardos of Norwalk, Bruce and Ruth Bardos of Old Saybrook, a sister Marion Bates of Norwalk, 5 grandchildren, Matthew, Beau, Isabella Bardos of Norwalk and Briana and Alexis Bardos of Old Saybrook. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. Margaret was also predeceased by her siblings Frank, Charles and Horace Hoyt, and Ruth Goggins.

Kevin Paul Jimison, age 55 of Danbury, beloved husband of Zenaida ( Otero) Jimison, died September 18, 2010 at Yale-New Haven. Born July 19, 1955 in Harrisburg, PA the son of Davey and Shirley Jimison, He worked as a manufacturing diagnostic technician for Sieman Health. Kevin graduated from Bellwood High School, and the Naval Submarine Institute. Having served in the US Navy, since 1976, Kevin retired from the Naval Reserves in 1998.
In addition to his wife and parents, Kevin is survived by two sisters Tina Jimison and Kelly Jimison-Boyer and a brother David Jimison.
