Services will be held Monday, September 27, 12 Noon, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Willowbrook cemetery in Westport. John’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11 AM until services begin.
John Jankowski, Jr., age 72, of Norwalk, died suddenly on Wednesday, September 22, at St. Vincent’s Medical Center in Bridgeport. John was born in Norwalk on February 28, 1938, son of the late John and Theresa LaMorte Jankowski. He was a retired wood carver and also had interests in organic gardening, photography and metal working. John served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. From 1959 to 1977 he served in the U.S. Air Force and attained the rank of Master Sergeant. His specialty was as an Integrated Avionics Superintendant and as an Instructor of Integrated Avionics Systems.
Survivors include a son, John Salvatore Jankowski, a daughter Dorian Daussin, MD and her husband Greg, a sister, Maryann Theall and her husband Otto, and John’s first wife Vivian Diane Jankowski.
Services will be held Monday, September 27, 12 Noon, at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, with burial to follow at Willowbrook cemetery in Westport. John’s family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday from 11 AM until services begin.

A celebration of Eliza’s life will be held on October 16, 11 AM at the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Ave., with Pastor John Livingston officiating. Memorial donations in her name may be made to the Rowayton School, 1 Roton Ave., Rowayton, 06853, or to the United Church of Rowayton.
Jane Elizabeth “Eliza” Oliver
Beloved Rowayton Teacher
Jane Elizabeth “Eliza” Oliver, age 40, of Rowayton, died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism at the Norwalk Hospital on Monday, September 27. Eliza was born in Greenwich on November 20, 1969, the loving daughter of Robert D. and Jane Wolcott Ready and has lived locally all of her life. She attended Rowayton School, graduated from the Low-Heywood Thomas School in 1988 and continued on to Wheelock College in Boston where she received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1992. After graduation Eliza returned to the Rowayton School to pursue her love of teaching, first as an intern and then teaching her own 1st and 2nd grade classes for the past 15 years. In 2002 she received her Master’s Degree at University of Bridgeport. She has been very involved with the Rowayton PTA for several years as a teacher’s representative and a Rowayton resident. Eliza’s life was teaching, year round, and she will be greatly missed by her students who adored her, their parents for her dedication, her fellow teachers, and especially her family.
In addition to her mother and father, Eliza is survived by her siblings; David Reedy of Culver, IN, Lauren Crittendon and her husband Dave of Marlboro, MA, and Becky Fanton and her husband Jack of Amherst, MA, her aunt, Mary Wolcott Wilson, and uncles James Wolcott and Jonathan Wolcott, 5 nieces and nephews, 8 beloved cousins, her many friends with whom she never lost touch and her cat, Fletcher, who was her best friend and a frequent topic of discussion in the classroom.

Graveside Service with military honors to be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11am at East Norwalk Historical Cemetery.
Franklin Theodore Cromwell “Ted”, age 89, a resident of Norwalk for over eighty years, died on Friday, October 1, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Norwalk, the son of Benjamin Franklin and Julia (Holland) Cromwell, he was a Navy Veteran of World War II, serving on the USS Saratoga (CV3) and was a retired homebuilder. Predeceased by his wife Gloria Ida Wood, Ted is survived by many Cromwell, Holland and Wood family members, as well as very many loving nieces and nephews and their children.
Graveside Service with military honors to be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at 11am at East Norwalk Historical Cemetery.Magner Funeral Home is assisting the family with funeral services. A special Thank You is extended to the staff members of Honey Hill Care Center and the Telemetry Unit at Norwalk Hospital for their care and support, which they have provided to Ted. Patricia Chisholm Franz, age 81 of Wallingford, beloved wife of Francis Franz, passed away October 1, 2010 at the Mid-State Medical Center in Meriden. Born in East Orange, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Rose (Leddy) Chisholm. She graduated from Millburn H.S. Class of 1947, and Willimantic State Teachers College, Class of 1951. Patricia and Francis were married on August 20, 1955 at St. Mary’s Church in Coventry, and recently celebrated their 55th anniversary.
Pat was a long time resident of Norwalk, CT. She was a parishioner of St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk, as well as a member of their Rosary Society.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons and a daughter, Michael Franz and his wife Catherine of Newbridge, Ireland, Peter Franz and his wife Marjorie of Norwalk, and Mary Anne Franz and her partner Carol Keogh of Stratford, 5 loving grandchildren; Rory, Daniel and Katie Franz of Ireland, John and Jennie Franz of Danbury. She is also survived by three nieces, one nephew and several cousins. She was predeceased by her brother Raymond E. Chisholm.
Pat will be missed by all of us who were touched by her graciousness, cheerful smile and the love of her family.

James P. Lind, age 46 of Wilton, died on October 4, 2010, the result of a kayaking accident. James worked as a Building Contractor and enjoyed the outdoors, especially Frisbee golf and kayaking. He is survived by his mother Ann Lind of Stamford, his children; Jessica, Katie and Christopher Lind, and their mother Pam of Wilton, his brother David Lind of Brewster, NY, and sister Debbie Kozlowski of Norwalk, as well as his nephews; Rob Lind, Brian Tracy, Jason and Jordan Lind and his pet snake, a red-tailed boa “Lucifer”.
His family will receive friends on Friday from 5-9 pm at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Avenue, Norwalk. Other funeral services will be held privately. Toni Marie Opalinski, age 64 of Norwalk, beloved wife of Joseph Opalinski, Sr., passed away Friday, October 8, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Port Chester, NY., the daughter of the late Anthony and Catherine (Grandison) Pizzarello. Toni was an avid member of The Fairfield County Model A Car Club and also involved with The REACH Program at St. Jerome Parish.
In addition to her husband Joseph, she is survived by her 2 sons, Joseph Jr. and Thomas, 5 loving grandchildren, Madison, Miles, Olivia, Kiley and Jagger, a brother, Louis Pizzarello, a sister Cathie Dodge and 6 nieces and nephews.
