Vincent Joseph D’Amato, age 83 of Norwalk died on Thursday, July 15, 2010 with his family by his side, at Norwalk Hospital. Born in Norwalk, he was a veteran of WWII, and had retired from Translux. He enjoyed cooking and was a devoted member of St. Mary Church in Norwalk. Predeceased by his wife Janet (Youmans) D’Amato, he is survived by his daughter Tammy DeAngelis and her husband Ray of Bethel, 2 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, as well as many brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Marjorie Bonar Dowd, age 84 of Westport, wife of the late Victor Dowd, died on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at Norwalk Hospital. Born in London, England, the daughter of the late Robert F and Ruth A. (Stone) Bonar, she had worked as a Ford model, featured in many high fashion magazines, a teacher, office manager and later enjoyed working at the Westport Public Library.
Mrs. Dowd is survived by 4 loving children; Jeffrey Dowd and his wife Marin, Gregory Dowd and his wife Ada, Eugenia LeBlanc and her husband Glen and Peter and his wife Lynn, as well as 5 cherished grandchildren; Catrin, Natalie, Gabrielle, Elliot and Emma and 5 nieces and nephews.

Grace F. Greco, age 88 of Warwick, MA died on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 at Quabbin Valley Healthcare. Born in Norwalk Ct. October 31, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Orazio and Francesca (Fiore) Tucci.
While living in Warwick she and her husband were members of the Senior Center and took numerous bus trips enjoying dances and various activities.
Predeceased by her beloved husband Frank A. Greco, her brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Peter Tucci and sisters, Lucy Carlucci and Rose Tucci, she is survived by her daughters; Katherine McNally of Amherst, NH, and Francesca Prohaska of Warwick, MA, 4 loving grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren, a brother Ralph Tucci of Norwalk, and several nieces and nephews.

Antonia Chieffalo, age 93 of Norwalk, beloved wife of the late Pasquale Chieffalo, died on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Aurora Senior Living. Born in Nicastro, Italy, to Antonio and Lucia (Peronne) Curcio, she was the last of 12 siblings. She was a local resident since 1955, and worked as a sewing machine operator for Lessing Footwear and Meyers Manufacturing. Predeceased by her son Francesco, she is survived by 3 sons; Domenico of Danbury, Antonio (Tony) of Norwalk and Bert of Fairfield, and a daughter Maria Cirifalco of Norwalk, as well as 13 Grandchildren, 21 Great-Grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

Andrew J. Cassidy 81 a lifelong Stamford resident, died on Saturday November 1, 2003 at his home. Born in Stamford, August 2, 1922, the son of the late Andrew and Delia Doyle Cassidy. He was a police officer for the City of Stamford for over 25 years. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a member of the Ponus Yacht Club. Survivors include his wife Irene P. Elles Cassidy of Stamford, a daughter Barbara E. Cassidy of Stamford, a son Robert E. Cassidy of Norwalk, a sister Anne Daly of Katonah, NY, a grandson Nicholas Caldarone Jr. of Stamford, several nieces and nephews also survive. He was predeceased by a brother James Cassidy. Funeral service and interment will be private. The Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave. Stamford, are handling the arrangements. John Andrew Nemchek 82, a lifelong Stamford resident died on Monday October 27, 2003 at Stamford Hospital Born in Stamford July 5, 1921, he was the son of the late Joseph and Bridget Slimak Nemchek. He was a member St. Benedict-Our Lady of Montserrat Church and the Holy Name Society of St. Benedict’s Church, where he was a lifelong parishioner. Survivors include 3 brothers Frank Nemchek of Vero Beach, Fla., Lawrence Nemchek of the Huntington Section Shelton, Ct., and Edward Nemchek of Stamford, 3 sisters Vilma K. Fowler, Mary V. McRedmond and Bridget Thomas all of Stamford, many nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews also survive. Besides his parents he was predeceased by 2 brothers Joseph and Alexander Nemchek. A funeral procession will leave the Nicholas F. Cognetta Funeral Home & Crematory 104 Myrtle Ave.Stamford, on Friday October 31, 2003 at 10:20 am and then to St. Benedict-Our Lady of Montserrat Church 1st Benedict Circle, Stamford, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am. Alois A. Falb 69 of Stamford died on Tuesday November 4, 2003 at his home, due to cardiac arrest. Born in Innsbruck, Austria, December 5, 1933, he was the son of the late Alfred and Stephanie Erd Falb. He was a Stamford resident for the past 40 years. He was a custom house builder having worked throughout the area. He was a member of Holy Spirit Church, the German American Club of Stamford, and the Carpenter’s Local #210. Survivors include his wife of 41 years Christine J. Ostertag Falb of Stamford, 2 daughters Beatrice Falb-Tompkins of Waterbury, Ct., and Linda S. Falb-Field of Pasadena, Calif., a sister Ingrid Fideler of Munich, Germany, 2 grandchildren also survive. He was predeceased by a sister Heide Eberli. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday November 8, 2003 at 10:30 am at Holy Spirit Church 403 Scofieldtown Rd. Stamford. Interment will be private.
