Paul D. Fogarty
Paul D. Fogarty, 74, of Prospect Drive in Brookfield, Conn., husband of Norma B. (Mandato) Fogarty, died at the Harborside Glen Hill Rehabilitation Center on Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999.
Born in Queens, N.Y. on April 8, 1925, he was the son of the late George and Phyllis DeMott Fogarty. He received his education in New York schools, attended St. Ann's Academy, the Pratt Institute and was a graduate of New York University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Art Education.
Mr. and Mrs. Fogarty lived in Rockland County, N.Y., prior to moving to Brookfield in 1978.
Mr. Fogarty was a commercial artist last employed by Caldor's for 23 years as a merchandise illustrator, retiring in 1987. He was also a self-employed artist and illustrator.
He was a member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Local Artists Cartoonist Group, the Richter Art Group and the Brookfield Senior Citizens. He was an avid lover of the arts and classical music.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Thomas G. Fogarty of New York City; a brother, Monsignor George V. Fogarty of the Catholic Diocese of Brooklyn, N.Y.; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 11 a.m., at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church in Brookfield. Monsignor Fogarty will celebrate. Cremation will follow.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Road, Brookfield.

James H. Allen
James Henry Allen, 56, of 168 Woodville Road in Warren, Conn., husband of the late Ursula Zeh Allen, died on Saturday, September 25, 1999 at Yale-New Haven Hospital.
Mr. Allen was born in New London, Conn. on December 19, 1942, a son of Donald C. and Mary Albright Allen of Trumbull, Conn.
He had served in the U.S. Army from 1958 to 1962 and had lived in the greater New Milford area since 1979. Mr. Allen was a collector of antique tractors and was last employed as a custodian in the New Milford public school system.
Besides his parents, he is survived by a son, James H. Allen Jr. of New Milford, Conn.; one daughter, Cindy Collins of New Preston, Conn.; one brother, Donald Allen Jr. of Guilford, Conn.; two sisters, Judy Walker of Clinton, Conn. and Debbie Kuchinski of Bridgewater, Conn.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are on Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge Street, New Milford with Rev. Richard E. Crews of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Marble Dale officiating. Interment is in Washington Green Cemetery in Washington, Conn.
Friends may call on Tuesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home.
Michael D. Vigue
Michael D. Vigue, 34, of 2 Foster St. in Danbury, Conn. died on Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Bridgeport Hospital.
He was born on Jan. 20, 1965 in Norwalk, Conn., son of Linda M. (Vigue) Cresci of Danbury. He attended Henry Abbott Technical School in Danbury.
Besides his mother, he is survived by two sisters, Lisa M. Ingraham of Danbury and Shelly A. Cresci of Bethel, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, 9 a.m., at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Green Funeral Home.

George J. Leach
George J. Leach, 74, of 6110 S. W. 41 Ct., Fort Lauderdale, Fla., formerly of Danbury, Conn. before retiring to Florida 23 years ago, passed away on Sept. 25, 1999 at I.N.S. Nursing Home in Plantation, Fla.
He was born in Danbury on Feb. 3, 1925, the son of the late Leroy and Mary (Doolan) Leach.
During World War II, Mr. Leach served in the U.S. Navy. He is survived by his wife, Reba Bennet Leach; a daughter, Georgette Jaworski, and a son, Michael Leach, of Florida; a brother and sister-in-law, Floyd and Dolores Leach, and a sister, Dorothy Leach Boyer, all of Danbury; a stepdaughter, Garnae Arrington of Missouri; 16 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a niece; two nephews; an aunt and several cousins. He was predeceased by a daughter, Denise Smith, and a son, Dennis Leach.
Funeral services, in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., will be private with cremation to follow on Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999.
A memorial service will be held in Danbury at a time to be announced.

Josephine Dennerlein
The death of Josephine (Kriescher) Dennerlein, 67, of Meadow Drive in Brookfield, Conn. occurred at the Danbury Hospital on Monday, Sept. 27, 1999 after a brief illness.
She was born in Franklin Square, New York on October 6, 1931, daughter of the late John and Catherine Imhoff Kriescher. She attended New York schools and was a graduate of Kings County Nursing School as a Registered Nurse. She had been employed at the Pope John Paul Center for Health Care in Danbury for the past 10 years and previously was a private duty nurse for several years.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Brookfield.
Surviving are two daughters, Kristine M. Dennerlein of Brookfield and Alyson Dennerlein of Bethel; two sisters, Catherine Larson of Palmdale, Calif. and Loretta Snapp of Florida; and nine grandchildren.

Lois Cugene
Lois Milligan Cugene, 64, of Mariner Drive, Tarpon Springs, FL, formerly of Ridgefield, died Friday at Glen Hill in Danbury. She was the wife of the late Nicholas Cugene.
Mrs. Cugene was born in Greenwich, CT, on Oct. 12, 1934, a daughter of the late Thomas and Vera Maxwell Milligan. She owned and operated the Ridgefield Upholstery Shop on Danbury Road in Ridgefield for more than 30 years.
A Ridgefield resident for over 30 years, Mrs. Cugene moved to Florida in 1980s.
Survivors include two sons, Ted Lionetti of Bethel and Mark Lionetti of Ridgefield; two daughters, Debra Brier of Middlebury, CT, and Laurie Tomsett of Seattle, WA; two brothers, George Milligan of Danbury and Michael Stashenko of Redding; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday October 2nd at St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Frances O'Connor
Frances O'Connor, 92, of Tanton Hill Road, Ridgefield, died Sunday morning at Laurelwood Care Center in Ridgefield.
Miss O'Connor was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on March 9, 1907, a daughter of the late Richard J. and Annie Doyle O'Connor, both of County Wicklow, Ireland.
Miss O'Connor was a graduate of Hunter College and Columbia Teachers College. She taught in Brooklyn and was a principal in east New York for 10 years, prior to her retirement in 1967.
After moving to Ridgefield, she became active in civic affairs. She was a diligent supporter and fund-raiser for the one-time Ridgefield Family YMCA, where she enjoyed swimming. She was a volunteer for Meals-On-Wheels, a member of the Commission on Aging, a strong participant on the committee that studied senior tax relief in Ridgefield and a member of St. Mary's Church in Ridgefield.
Miss O'Connor had been a Ridgefield resident for the past 27 years. She was predeceased by a brother, Richard J. O'Connor, who died in October of 1986.
Survivors include a sister, Anne Melsha of Ridgefield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Ridgefield. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Ridgefield.

Albert Welz Sr.
Albert William Welz Sr., 78, of New Milford, CT, died Saturday, Sept. 25, at New Milford Nursing Home.
He was born March 21, 1920, a son of the late Carl and Rebecca Nourse Welz. He graduated from Hillhouse High School in New Haven.
A veteran of the U.S. Army Air Force, he served in India during World War II and obtained the rank of master sergeant.
He worked as a parts manager at the Connecticut White Truck Corp., both in West Haven and Fairfield, for more than 40 years.
A former resident of Woodbridge, he was a member of the Woodbridge Social Club. and served on the Woodbridge Parks and Recreation Commission. He also was active as a leader in the Boy Scouts of America and was an avid bowler and fisherman.
He moved from Woodbridge to New Milford in 1989.
Survivors include his wife, Stella Carrubba Welz; a son, Albert W. Welz Jr. of Westford, MA; a daughter, Caryn Welz Ritchie of New Milford; three grandsons, Jay Welz, Kevin Ritchie and Jeffrey Ritchie; two sisters, Indiana "Sis" Lindsay of Hamden and Elizabeth Jankoski of Ohio; a brother, Richard Welz of New Haven; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother Carl Welz Jr.
Graveside services with military honors will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. at Beaverdale Memorial Park, New Haven. The Rev. Harry Lee Kinsely of St. John's Episcopal Church in New Milford will officiate.
Friends may call Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Main St., New Milford.

Robert Albers Jr.
Robert M. Albers Jr., 31, of No. 5 Nabby Road, Danbury, died Saturday evening at Danbury Hospital as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Robert was born in Oyster Bay, Long Island on November 26, 1967, a son of Robert Albers Sr. of Long Island and Barbara Myer Mills Albers of Danbury. He had lived in the Danbury area for most of his life and had attended Bethel High School.
Aside from his parents, his survivors include his son, Robert Albers III, two brothers, William Albers of Brookfield and John Britton of Danbury; his grandmother, Gladys Worth of Danbury; and two nieces. He was predeceased by his brother Michael.
Friends will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main St., Danbury.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Tomlinson Homestead. Burial will follow at St. Peter's Cemetery, Danbury.

George Southworth
George Southworth, 83, of Arvada, CO, a former Berlin resident, died Wednesday, Sept. 22, 1999, in Arvada. He was the husband of the late Clara E. (Hansen) Southworth.
Born in Fall River, MA, he was the son of the late George Southworth Sr. and Amelia (Garside) Southworth. He was a Berlin resident for more than 30 years before moving to Arvada in 1996. George was formerly employed at Northeast Utilities. He was a member of the Berlin Congregational Church, the Kiwanis Club of Berlin and the Northeast Utilities retirees.
Surviving are a daughter, Deborah (Southworth) Green of Arvada, CO; 1 brother, Ernest Southworth of Liberty, ME; 1 sister, Edith Smith of Sarasota, FL: and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 29, 1999, at 1:00 p.m. at Berlin Congregational Church. Burial will be in Maple Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
