Anna H. (Almy) Morrison

Anna H. (Almy) Morrison, 101, of Long Meadow Hill Rd., Brookfield died September 7, 1999 at the Pope John Paul II Health Care Center. She was the wife of the late Kenneth D. Morrison Sr.

She was born in Mt. Vernon, N.Y. on June 14, 1898, a daughter of the late William and Mary (Frankenburg) Almy.

Mrs. Morrison was a loving mother and homemaker. She was a very active church member involved with The Central Christian Church Danbury, then The Newtown Congregational Church and The Congregational Church of Brookfield.

Survivors include 3 sons; John Morrison Sr. of Brookfield, Kenneth D. Morrison Jr. of Ivoryton and Dr. William A. Morrison of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada; grandchildren, Mary Beth Carpenter, John Morrison Jr., Nancy Morrison, Kenneth D. Morrison the Third, and Linda Lightfoot as well as 4 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Morrison was predeceased by her sister, Elsie Monroe.

Funeral Services will be held at The Congregational Church of Brookfield Saturday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. The Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury is in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Mountainview Cemetery, New Fairfield.

Friends will be received at Brooks Hall, Congregational Church of Brookfield, Rt. 25, Brookfield, Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.

Friends are asked to please omit flowers. Contributions may be made to Pope John Paul II Health Center Patient Recreation Fund, 33 Lincoln Ave., Danbury, CT 06810.

Randall W. Cason Sr.

Randall W. Cason Sr., 46, died August 25, 1999 at his home in Danbury.

United States Army Test Pilot and THE BEST Husband, Father and PaPa, LTC Cason was born in Wellington, Texas. on December 3, 1952. In 1971, he graduated from Cooper High School. In 1975, he earned his bachelor's degree from Hardin-Simmons University and was commissioned as an officer in the United States Army. In 1984, LTC Cason graduated from the US Naval Test Pilot School, Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Maryland. In 1987, he was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California. He is a graduate of both the US Army Command and General Staff College and the US Air Force Command and Staff College. He was a dual rated Master Aviator with more than 6,000 flying hours in more than 50 types of aircraft. LTC Cason retired from the United States Army in 1997, and most recently was Business Development and Chief Test Pilot at Safeflight International, White Plains, N.Y.

Randall Cason married Jannette McQuiston of Richmond, Ind., at Pioneer Drive Baptist Church in 1972. They were active members of Walnut Hill Community Church in Bethel. LTC Cason was a member of the Society of Experimental Test Pilots and the Army Aviation Association of America.

Survivors include his wife, Jannette; a daughter, Charva Cason of Waco, Texas.; a son and daughter-in-law, Capt. Randall Jr. and Christy Cason of Mountain Home AFB, Idaho; 2 grandchildren, Randall, III (Trey) and Kaylynn; his mother, Mrs. Charles (Eva) Cason of Abilene, Texas.; brothers and sisters, Charles Cason III of Arlington, Rhonda and Mike Mayfield of Lubbock, Candace and Kevin Granthan of Plano and Ricky Cason of Abilene; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Clare and Charlene McQuiston of Richmond, Ind.; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Doug and Colleen McQuiston of Pittsburgh, Pa., Judy and Bill Testin of Indianapolis, Ind., Greg and Birgit McQuiston of Dayton, Ohio and Joe and Pat McCree of Carlock, Ill.

Contributions in his memory may be made to Master's House Memorial Fund, Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road, Bethel, CT 06801.

A Memorial Service will be conducted Saturday, September 11, 1999 at 3 p.m. at the Walnut Hill Community Church, 156 Walnut Hill Road, Bethel. The Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main Street, Danbury is in charge of local arrangements.

Ida M. Yoli

The death of Ida M. Yoli, of Brookfield, wife of the late Alfred Yoli, occurred at the Kent Nursing Home, Kent, Wednesday. She was 98 years of age.

Born in New York City, N.Y., she was the daughter of the late Henry and Amalia Croci Colombi and received her education in New York City schools.

She made her home in Rockland County, N.Y. for 18 years prior to moving to Brookfield 16 years ago.

Her married life was devoted to her home and family.

Mrs. Yoli was a member of St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church.

Surviving are 2 sons; Alfred H. Yoli of Brookfield and Henry A. Yoli of Dingmans Ferry, Pa.; a daughter Virginia Horris of Riverdale, N.J.; 2 sisters, Enes Ryan of Ridge, N.Y. and Louise Bryant of Jamesburg, N.J.; 5 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church Friday morning at 11:00.

Interment will be in St. John's Cemetery, Middle Village, N.Y.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in her memory may be made to St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, 130 Candlewood Lake Rd., Brookfield, CT 06804.

The Brookfield Funeral Home, 786 Federal Rd., Brookfield, is in charge of arrangements.

Stanley J. Derbin

Stanley J. Derbin, 84, husband of Mildred (Deitz) Derbin, formerly of Virginia Ave., died at the Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care on Tuesday morning.

He was born in Scranton, Pa., September 3, 1915, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Pietrowski) Derbin. He grew up in Scranton and was a veteran of the US Army during World War II. Mr. Derbin served with the 4th Armored Division in the European Theater and won a battlefield commission and received a Purple Heart after being wounded in France and the Bronze Star for gallantry.

After World War II, Mr. Derbin moved to Danbury and worked as a hatter. He later worked as a toolmaker at Bardens and retired after having worked there for many years. He was a member of Sacred Heart Church and was an avid fisherman.

In addition to his wife, Stanley is survived by two brothers; Edward Derbin of Scranton and Henry Derbin of Dixon City, Pa.; a sister, Estelle Davis of Bar Harbor, Maine and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Stanley in 1984; two brothers, Joseph and Chester and a sister, Anna Ferkile.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Church on Friday morning at 10 a.m. Interment will be private. Friends may call at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

Contributions may be made to Sacred Heart Church, 12 Cottage St., Danbury or to the American Heart Association, 5 Brookside Dr., Wallingford, CT 06492.

Mildred B. Johnson

Mildred B. Johnson, 92, passed away in Danbury Hospital on September 7, 1999 after a brief illness.

She was born the daughter of Hilma and Pehr Behring in Brooklyn, N.Y. on November 20, 1906.

Mrs. Johnson had been a resident of Ridgefield for the past thirty-five years; having spent the last two years of her life at Laurelwood Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center. Mrs. Johnson's main interest was her family, whom she loved. She also enjoyed playing the piano, knitting, games and travel. She was a member of OWLS in Ridgefield.

She was predeceased by her husband, Carl E. Johnson in 1965 and her daughter, Audrey J. Beal in 1998.

Mrs. Johnson leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis J. and Harold R. VanSiclen Jr. of Kennebunk, Maine; her son-in-law. Roger F. Beal of Ridgefield; two granddaughters and two great-grandchildren, all of Ridgefield.

A funeral service will be held at Kane's Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah St., Ridgefield on Friday at 10 a.m. There will be no visiting hours. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery in Shelton.

Delite L. Clark

Delite "Tex" Clark, 86, of 2-B Sunrise Road, Danbury, died on Wednesday, September 8, 1999 at the New Milford Nursing Home.

Mrs. Clark was born in Holland, Mich., August 7, 1913.

An area resident since 1958 coming from Freeport, Texas, she was last employed by the Eagle Pencil Company of Danbury. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and needlepoint.

Surviving are two daughters; Karen E. Bruey of Danbury with whom she made her home and Darlene D. Smith of Dover Plains, N.Y.; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury with Pastor David Reinhardt, officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family.

Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury on Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m.

Claire D. Audet

Claire (Dyer) Audet of Buffalo, N.Y., sister of Mrs. William (Valerie) Casey of 536 Main Street, Ridgefield, died on Tuesday, September 7, 1999, at Hospice of Buffalo. Mrs. Audet was the wife of the late Dr. Charles H. Audet Jr.

In addition to her sister of Ridgefield, she is survived by seven children, fourteen grandchildren, a great-granddaughter, a sister as well as nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m. in St. Elizabeth Seton Church, 520 Ridgebury Road, Ridgefield.

Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Ridgefield.

There will be no calling hours.

The Kane Funeral Home, 41 Catoonah Street, Ridgefield is in charge of arrangements.

Mary M. Sipe

Mary M. Sipe, 86, a native Danburian and widow of John Thomas Sipe, died Monday at Harborside Glen Hill Center.

Mrs. Sipe was born to the union of Mathias and Mary Rentschler Stieber, September 21, 1912, and had been a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a graduate of the Immanuel Lutheran School, and the Danbury High School. She had worked in several local industries including The Barden Corporation, Capitol Machine & Switch Company, Davis & Geck, and Mosler Corporation, and continued her education in adulthood at Henry Abbott Regional Vocational Technical School, as a student of electronics. She had also worked with the local elderly nutrician program, and was proud to have represented her Church as a teacher of Bible studies to the Ecumenical Bible Study Program at the Danbury Senior Center.

She is survived by her 3 daughters, Linda M. Dawson and Audrey M. Dawson, both of Danbury and Barbara E. Joray of Ormand Beach, Fla.; her brother, Arthur M. Stieber, also of Danbury; 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, 26 West St., Danbury, on Thursday at 10 a.m. Friends will be received at The Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main St., Danbury, on Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to The Hanahoe Memorial Children's Clinic, 205 Main Street, Danbury, or to the Step of Faith Fund at Immanuel Lutheran Church, will be appreciated.

David L. Keck

David L. Keck, 40, of 61 Taylor Avenue, Bethel, died on Sunday at the Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Carmela (Spremulli) Keck.

David was born in Harlingen, Texas, October 5, 1958, a son of LeRoy and Dena (Phy) Keck of Gaithersburg, Md. He moved with his family and became an area resident in 1970, first settling in Carmel, N.Y.

He attended Carmel schools and graduated from Carmel High School.

A US Naval veteran, he served aboard the USS Morton and was presently a member of the US Naval Reserve stationed at Newport, R.I. in the Special Operations Division.

He was also a graduate of Fairleigh Dickinson University of Madison, N.J.

At the time of his death, Mr. Keck was a computer consultant.

He was an avid weightlifter and a member of the Housatonic Baseball League and a member of St. Mary's Church, Bethel.

In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by two children, Jessica and Michael as well as a brother Andrew Keck.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary's Church, Bethel.

Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.

Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home, 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m.

Jules Zimmerman

Dr. Jules Zimmerman, 85, of Longboat Key, FL, died Monday at Yale-New Haven Hospital.

He was the loving husband of the late Shirley Zimmerman. He is survived by his two daughters, Randie Jarrett, wife of Dr. Robert Jarrett of Redding, and Laurie Goldstein of Manhasset, NY; two grandchildren; and by Beverlee Boguslaw, his faithful companion of 10 years.

In lieu of flowers, people may send donations to Healing the Children NE, P.O. Box 129, New Milford, CT 06776.

Joyce S. Burden

Joyce Elizabeth Scheller Burden, age 60, of 122 Ridge Rd., New Milford, died Saturday at New Milford Hospital.

Mrs. Burden was born in New Rochelle, N.Y., September 5, 1938 a daughter of the late Ernest and Elizabeth Meyer Scheller. She has been a resident of New Milford for 40 years and worked for 27 years as a Personnel Director with District 4, State of Connecticut Department of Transportation, retiring in 1997.

Mrs. Burden is survived by 3 daughters; Debbie Burden and Alicia L. Lord both of New Milford and Pamela B. Downs of Warren; 3 sisters, Janet Michalek of New Milford, Roberta Witham of Waterbury and Robin Vairo of Southbury; 4 grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial may be made to the New Milford Hospital Oncology Center, 21 Elm St., New Milford, CT 06776 or to the Litchfield County 4H Foundation, 1304 Winsted Rd., Torrington, CT 06790.

A Memorial Service will be held at the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Rd., New Milford, Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m.
