Farah A. Showah
Farah A. Showah, 70, of 24 Well Avenue, Danbury, husband of Marine (Showah) Showah, died on Tuesday morning at his home.
He was born in Membij, Syria, April 29, 1929, a son of the late Abdo and Katra (Daboul) Showah. He attended schools in Syria and had served as a border customs agent. In later years, Mr. Showah had practiced accounting.
A resident of Danbury for the past 22 years coming from Beirut, Lebanon, he was last employed by Home Depot.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Danbury as well as Saint George Antiochian Orthodox Church, Danbury.
In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by three sons; Abdo Showah, MD, George Showah and Henry Showah, MD; a daughter, Catherine Marino as well as a brother, Henry J. Showah, DDS.
The Rite of Burial will take place on Friday at 10 a.m. in St. George Antiochian Orthodox Church, 125 Kohanza Street, Danbury with the Rev. Joseph Longofono, officiating.
Burial will follow in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received in the Jowdy-Kane Funeral Home 9-11 Granville Avenue, Danbury, on Thursday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Trisagion service will be conducted in the funeral home on Thursday evening at 7:30.

William J. Bray
William J. Bray, 76, husband of Helen Marson Bray, of Candlewood Lake Estates, Sherman, died at home Friday after a long illness.
Mr. Bray was born in the Bronx, N.Y., September 9, 1922, son of the late William and Kathleen Kilgallon Bray.
He served in the U.S. Coast Guard in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Later, he graduated from Fordham University with a degree in accounting.
Mr. Bray worked for American Cyanamid in New York City and was then transferred to Danbury, CT to set up the first computers at Davis and Geck. From there he returned to NYC to work for CBS and was transferred to Santa Maria, California. Returning from California, he worked for ABC until his retirement.
He moved to Sherman in 1976 and served on the Candlewood Lake Authority for several years and also served as its Chairman. He spent his retirement summers working at Segalla Country Club, Armenia, NY.
He was a parishioner of Holy Trinity Church in Sherman.
Besides his wife he is survived by a brother, Jack, of Florida; a sister, Kathleen Giantonio, of Rocky Hill, CT; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, June 29th at 11:00 AM in Holy Trinity Church, Sherman. Burial will follow at Coburn Cemetery, Sherman.
Arrangements have been made through the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford.

Emma Alice Dobson
Emma Alice Favreau Dobson, 85, formerly of Main St., Danbury, died Sunday in Danbury. She was the widow of George A. Dobson.
Mrs. Dobson was born in Bridgeport, CT on July 23, 1913, a daughter of the late John and Anna Carney Favreau. She was a machine operator at Columbia Magnetics, Div. of CBS until her retirement in 1977. She was a resident of Bethel until her move to Danbury in the 1980's.
Mrs. Dobson is survived by 2 sons, Charles Middlebrook of Danbury; George Dobson of NY: 3 daughters, Georgianna McKeen and Charlotte Willis both of Florida; Viola Gilbert of Vermont; 2 brothers: Lester Favreau of Newtown, CT and Louis Favreau of Georgia; 20 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 3:00PM at the Hull Funeral Home, 60 Division St., Danbury. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service from 2:00-3:00 PM.
Tara Ann Beutler
Tara Ann Beutler, 10, of 21 Holiday Point Road, Sherman, died Sunday, October 3, at the New Milford Hospital, after a canoeing accident on the Housatonic River at Gaylordsville.
Tara Ann was born October 27, 1988, in Tarrytown, New York, daughter of Bruce Bernard and Margaret Honora (Morris) Beutler. She was a member of the sixth grade class at the Sherman Elementary School and lived in Sherman since 1995.
Besides her parents, she leaves a sister, Montana Joan Beutler of Sherman; paternal grandparents, William and Joan Beutler of Katonah, N.Y.; maternal grandmother, Catherine Morris of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and the late Joseph Morris. She is also survived by several aunts and uncles.
Funeral services Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Holy Trinity Church, Sherman, with a Mass of Christian Burial. Friends may call at the Holy Trinity Church on Wednesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
At the request of the family, please omit flowers. Contributions may be made in Tara's name to the Sherman Elementary School Library for the purchase of books in her memory.

Kenneth Caroccio
Kenneth Caroccio, age 72, of Montgomery, N.Y., husband of Cristina Mascio Caroccio died on Wednesday at the Horton Hospital in Middletown, N.Y.
He was born in Bronx, N.Y., October 19, 1926, a son of the late Benjamin and Gertrude Mango Caroccio. He served in the US Army as an MP and was stationed in Hawaii. An area resident since 1949, Mr. Caroccio was employed by the Amphenol Corp. in Danbury until retiring to Mesa, Ariz. in 1981, returning to New York a few months ago. Mr. Caroccio was a former parishioner of St. Mary Church, Bethel.
In addition to his wife of 49 years, Mr. Caroccio is survived by a son, Peter Caroccio of Litchfield and a daughter, Catherine Caroccio of Montgomery, N.Y.; 2 brothers, Joseph Caroccio of Mesa, Ariz. and Larry Caroccio of Huntington, Long Island., N.Y. and a grandson.
The funeral will be conducted on Saturday morning at 9:30 a.m. from the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Avenue, Bethel to the Church of St. Mary, Bethel, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home for one hour preceding the service.

Sister Eugenie R. Withers C.N.D.
The death of Sister Eugenie R. Withers, C.N.D., of the Congregation of Notre Dame, Ridgefield, occurred at the Danbury Hospital Wednesday morning. She was 89 years of age.
Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of William and Irene Withers, August 18, 1910 she attended Brooklyn schools, was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy, Staten Island, N.Y. and St. Michael's College in Winooski, Vermont. She became a professed religious in the Congregation of Notre Dame August 23, 1933. Her final profession was August 9, 1939.
From 1933 to 1973 Sister Withers taught the Sciences, Health and Religion in High Schools in Connecticut, Vermont, Rhode Island and New York. From 1973 to 1976 she served as Dietitian for preparation of trays for the sick at the retirement home for Sisters of the Congregation de Notre Dame at Ridgefield. From 1976 to 1998 she served as a Receptionist at the Villa Maria Academy, Bronx, N.Y., St. Jean Baptiste Rectory in New York City and at the Congregation de Notre Dame in Ridgefield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Congregation of Notre Dame Chapel Friday morning at 10:00.
Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends may call at the Congregation of Notre Dame, Thursday from 2:00 to 7:30 p.m. A prayer service will be conducted Thursday at 5:00.

Paul H. Buhser
The death of Paul H. Buhser, 85, of Candlewood Lake Road, Brookfield, occurred at his home Tuesday.
Born in New York City, May 3, 1914, he was the son of the late Peter V. and Louise Walther Buhser. He was educated in New York City schools and spent much of his life there, moving to Brookfield in 1958.
Mr. Buhser was a veteran of World War II serving with the Army in the Pacific Theatre.
He had been employed as a Personal Tax Executive for the Berol Corporation (Eagle Pencil Company) for 55 years retiring at age 65. He was also the personal Tax Executive for the Berol family.
He was a member of the St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, The Brookfield Senior Center of which he was Treasurer for several years, The American Association of Retired Persons, the Brookfield Center Players and formerly of the Men's Club of St. Joseph's Church, Brookfield.
Surviving is a sister, Katherine Weed of New Paltz, N.Y. and his friends, the Valzania family of Brookfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Marguerite Bourgeoys Church, Saturday morning at 10:00.
Cremation will follow.

Robert R. Allen
Robert R. Allen, of Dunnellon, Fla., formerly of Ridgefield, died in Dunnellon, Oct. 27, 1999.
Mr. Allen, 82, was born in Bellemeade, N.J. The self-employed, utility company owner/operator moved from Ridgefield to Florida in 1988.
Surviving are his wife, Anna, of Dunnellon; his son, Robert Jr. of Durham, N.H.; his two daughters, Joan Furhner of Germany and Lynn Stater of Unionville, Conn.; his brother, Richard, of E. Aurora, N.Y.; and his two sisters, Florence Wilkins of Etna, N.H., and Margaret Scott of Zephyrhills, Fla.

Louis A. Montesi
Louis A. Montesi Sr. died Oct. 28, 1999, at Danbury Hospital the result of injuries from an Oct. 26 car accident. Mr. Montesi, 87, had lived at 70 Locust Ave., Danbury, and was the husband of the late Josephine Renda Montesi.
He was born in Danbury, Oct. 29, 1911, a son of the late John and Annunziata Cassini Montesi. He attended St. Peter School.
In his early years, he worked as a hatter at local hat shops, later worked in sales and delivery for the Dimian Produce Co. of Danbury and retired as a custodian for Danbury High School after 20 years of service.
Mr. Montesi was a member and usher at St. Joseph Church.
He is survived by his son, Louis Jr., and his daughter, Joanne Montesi, both of Danbury; his brother, Fred, of Bethel; his three sisters, Liz Salvastrini of Danbury, Margaret Pambianchi of Florida, and Dorothy Osnoe of Brewster, N.Y.; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Gloria A. Cooke
Gloria A. Cooke died Oct. 28, 1999, at Danbury Hospital at the age of 71. She was the wife of the late John P. Cooke and had lived at 5-4 Brooks Quarry in Brookfield.
Mrs. Cooke was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Nov. 1, 1927, a daughter of the late Thomas and Anna Cash Maher. She attended New York schools and retired after 15 years as a secretary at Barclay Bank on Long Island.
She had lived on Long Island, where she lovingly cared for and raised her four children and was involved with church and community. She and her husband moved 10 years ago from Long Island to Brookfield, where they attended St. Marguerite Church.
She is survived by her two sons, John Cooke of Bridgewater and Thomas Cooke of New York, N.Y.; her two daughters, Rosanna Wyland of Haines City, Fla., and Kathy Cooke of Westbury, Long Island; her seven grand-children, Rachael, Emma and Wesley Cooke of Bridgewater, and Sean, Christy, Tracy and Renee Wyland of Haines City, Fla.; her great-granddaughter, Casandra Wyland of Florida; her three brothers, James, Thomas and John Maher; her sister, Ann Cavanaugh; as well as several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Marguerite Church, Brookfield. Burial will be in South Bridgewater Cemetery.
