Edward J. Trotta
Edward J. Trotta, 64, of 121 Rt. 39 S., Sherman, died Saturday at the Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Marie Contrata Trotta.
He was born Feb. 26, 1935, in New Rochelle, N.Y., a son of the late James and Elda Kurkin Trotta. He graduated from New York schools.
Before his retirement in 1995, Mr. Trotta had worked for more than 40 years as an electrician with Union Local #501 in White Plains, N.Y.
He was a Navy and Air Force veteran of the Viet Nam war.
Mr. Trotta was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Sherman and of Local #501 Electrician Union in White Plains. He was active in Little League and coached the New Rochelle Giants Football Team.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Rick and daughter-in-law Michelle of Waterbury; daughters Andrea Trotta of Sherman and Jacki and son-in-law Kevin Flynn of Rye, N.Y., a brother, James of New Fairfield; grandchildren Brittany, Pasquale, Vassilissa, Romina and Giovanni; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Church in Bethel. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.

Constance Neidhart
Constance Cable Neidhart, 76, of Garland, Texas, and formerly of Danbury, died Friday in Garland. She was the wife of the late Thomas A. Neidhart.
Mrs. Neidhart was born in Danbury on April 29, 1923, a daughter of Judge William H. and Arlene Dunaway Cable. She graduated from Danbury High School and from Endicott Junior College.
She married Thomas A. Neidhart, a Naval aviator lieutenant, on April 1, 1943, and had worked as a homemaker for her family. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in Danbury.
Mrs. Neidhart is survived by three sons, Thomas A. Neidhart Jr., Craig C. Neidhart and Jay Neidhart; a daughter, Susan Neidhart Salom; 10 grandchildren, Craig C. Neidhart Jr., Keith C. Neidhart, Christopher T. Neidhart, Kyle Neidhart, Thomas A. Neidhart III, Kelly C. Neidhart, Holly Neidhart, Marcy M. Salom, Jesse J. Salom and Jay D. Zimmerman; and a great-grandchild, Kaycee T. Neidhart. She was predeceased by a brother, Dr. William H. Cable Jr.
Funeral services will take place Monday at Richland Bible Fellowship in Richardson, Texas, with Dr. Mark Engelthaler officiating. Burial will be in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
The family would like to appreciate its loving appreciation to all those who supported their mother during her fight against cancer.

John W. Wagner
John W. Wagner, 71, of Hopewell Junction, N.Y., died Wednesday at his home. He was the husband of the late Evelyn L. Turnbull Wagner.
He was born in Danbury on June 7, 1928, a son of John G. and Anna Steitzel Wagner. He graduated from Immanuel Lutheran School and Henry Abbott Regional Technical High School, both in Danbury.
Before his retirement in 1990, he had worked for 33 years as a technical engineer for IBM in East Fishkill, N.Y.
Mr. Wagner was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church, Fishkill. He was a member of the American Legion and was a decorated member of the Boy Scouts of America for 44 years.
He was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and had attained the rank of Master Sergeant in Battery C of the 963rd Batallion. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the Marksmen Badge, and the Army of Occupation Medal (Germany).
He is a former resident of Rhinebeck, N.Y.
Mr. Wagner is survived by a son, John A. Wagner and his wife Jo of Lake Pleasant, N.Y.; two daughters, Eva A. Jakubek and her husband Paul of Stamford, and Helen D. Varco of Hopewell Junction; a brother, Robert E. Wagner of Washingtonville, N.Y.; two sisters, Ruth Anne Wagner of Danbury and Dorothee A. Wagner of Natchez, MS; six grandchildren, Anna, Gregory and Pamela Jakubek, Heather and Peter Varco, and Courtney Lyn Wagner. He was predeceased by his wife on April 3, 1987.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Rt. 52, Fishkill. Burial will take place in Hopewell Cemetery, Hopewell Junction.

Charles Harvey
Charles "Allen" Harvey, 66, of 27 Sega Drive, New Milford, died Thursday at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara Ann Nichols Harvey.
He was born in Yonkers, NY, on July 10, 1933.
Mr. Harvey was last employed as a security guard at the Kimberly-Clark Corp. in New Milford.
He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War.
Mr. Harvey had lived in Danbury from 1967 to 1978 before moving to New Milford.
Besides his wife, he is survived by a son, Scott A. Harvey of Danbury; a daughter, Kimberly Ann Lindberg of Clearwater, FL; a brother, Edward J. Harvey of Daytona Beach, FL; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, New Milford. Friends may call Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
Alice Gates Marsan
Alice Gates Marsan, 90, formerly of Ward Street, Norwalk, died Saturday at The Kent, specialty care facility, in Kent. She was the wife of the late Gerard Marsan.
She was born in Norwalk, Sept. 7, 1909, a daughter of the late Fernando and Lottie Baumiller Gates.
Mrs. Marsan had been a Norwalk resident for most of her life.
She is survived by three sons, Thomas R. Gates of New Milford, Benjamin D. Gates of Port Charlotte, FL, and Edward J. Gates of Bridgeport; a daughter, Lorraine M. Clark of Bethel; a sister, Nellie Kalmasky of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford. Burial will be in Morningside Cemetery, Gaylordsville. Friends may call Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. at the funeral home.
James M. George
James M. George, 88, of 2675 SW 13th St., Fort Lauderdale, FL, formerly of Danbury, died on Thursday, November 25, 1999, at Memorial Hospital, Hollywood, FL.
Mr. George was born in Lebanon, June 23, 1911, a son of the late Samuel and Mary (Chukrallah) George. He emigrated to this country with his family, first settling in Lawrence, MA, and then moving to Danbury in 1938. He had been a resident of Danbury from 1928 until he became a permanent resident of Florida in 1994.
Mr. George was a former furrier dealing in hatters' fur, and, in later years, was employed by Carey Industries of Danbury.
A member of the Lebanon American Club of Danbury, he was also a member of St. Anthony's Maronite Catholic Church of Danbury.
He is survived by two sons, Allan L. George of Danbury, and Jeffrey C. George of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; a daughter, Shiela M. Daab of Brookfield; two sisters, Mary A. George of Danbury and Ann Antoon of Lawrence, MA; a sister-in-law, Lucy George of Danbury, as well as four grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
The Liturgy of the Resurrection will take place on Wednesday, December 1, 1999, at 10 a.m. in St. Anthony's Maronite Church, 17 Granville Avenue, Danbury, with the Rev. Larry Jensen, officiating.
Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends will be received at St. Anthony's Church on Tuesday from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The Service of Incense will be offered on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

Karolina V. Strobel
Karolina V. Strobel, 89, widow of Franz X. Strobel and a resident of 10 Shepherd's Way, New Fairfield, died Wednesday at her home.
Mrs. Strobel was born in Germany, August 7, 1910, a daughter of the late Georg and Veronika Bohm, and had made her home in The Bronx.
She had maintained a summer home in Inglenook in New Fairfield until moving here full-time about twenty-five years ago. She had been a member of St. Edward the Confessor Church, New Fairfield.
Mrs. Strobel is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Veronica J. and Frank J. Fehling, with whom she had made her home; and Caroline and Frank McNerney of the Bronx; seven grandchildren, Frank, Paul and Karen Fehling, and Carolyn, Christopher, Theresa and Frank McNerney, five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, New Fairfield, on Monday at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be in Mountainview Cemetery.
Friends will be received at The Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main Street, Danbury, on Saturday and Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
Anna Pliska, Thomas Duda
Anna Pliska Thomas Duda, 92, formerly of East Street, New Milford, wife of the late John A. Duda, died Thursday at Candlewood Valley Health Center, New Milford.
Born in Holyoke, Mass., April 22, 1907, she was a daughter of the late George and Anna Mikloka Pliska. She spent her early life in Danbury, moving to New Milford in 1929.
Mrs. Duda worked for many years at the Southbury Training School, retiring as a supervisor in 1962.
She was a parishioner of St. Francis Xavier Church of New Milford and was a longtime member of the New Milford Senior Citizens.
She was the devoted mother of a son, Donald Thomas of Waterbury, and two daughters, Betty Ann Guman of Brookfield, and Patricia T. Gerstenmaier of Las Vegas, Nev. Also surviving are a brother, Andrew Pliska of Torrance, Calif.; a sister, Dorothy Shier of Danbury; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is on Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. from the Lillis Funeral Home, 58 Bridge St., New Milford, to St. Francis Xavier Church for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment is in St. Francis Cemetery in New Milford.

Wilfred Barney Jr.
Wilfred "Willie" F. Barney, Jr., age 49, of New Milford, CT, died Wednesday at New Milford Hospital. He was the husband of Sharon A. Carlson Barney.
Mr. Barney was born in Torrington, CT, May 13, 1950, a son of Dorothy Jane Hallock Barney of New Milford and the late Wilfred F. Barney, Sr. He was a New Milford resident all his life and worked as a truck driver for over 25 years, the last 15 years with Yonkers Contracting out of New Milford. He was a member of Local 677 Teamsters Union, loved to fish and was an avid bowler.
Besides his wife and mother, he is survived by a son, Michael W. Barney of Vermont; two daughters, Tammy Bourdeau of Milton, VT, and Stacey Stockwell of Randolph, VT; three step-children, Timothy and Shannon Schipul, both of Waterbury, and Crystal Goodbo of New Milford; two sisters, Irma C. Ernhout of New Preston, CT, and Judy B. Yarochowicz of Millbrook, NY; and three grandchildren, Erin, Ethan and Emma.
The funeral will be held at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, Marble Dale, CT, Monday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Richard E. Crews officiating. Burial will be in Center Cemetery, New Milford.
The family will receive friends at the Colonial Funeral Home, 87 Park Lane Rd., New Milford, Sunday evening from 6:00 to 9:00.
