Louis Rosasco
The death of Louis Rosasco, a retired Tiler and Plasterer, of 31 Hillside Ave., Danbury, occurred at Harborside Glen Hill Health Center Sunday afternoon. He was 98 years of age.
Born in Gattorna, Italy, son of the late Domenic and Mary Giuffra Rosasco, he came to this country at the age of 6 settling in Danbury. He attended Danbury schools and the Danbury High School.
He had been employed in the building trade for the Bricklayers Union for several years as a Plasterer and Tiler.
Mr. Rosasco was a member of St. Joseph's Church and the Bricklayers Union.
Surviving are a niece, Sunnye Ann Rosasco of Danbury; three nephews, Reese W. Rosasco of Danbury, Rev. Monsignor J. James Cuneo of Holy Name Church, Stratford, Robert Cuneo and his wife, Karen of Bethany; grandniece, Janna Cuneo and grandnephew Daniel Cuneo, both of Bethany.
Mr. Rosasco was predeceased by brothers, Joseph and his wife, Christine Rosasco, William and wife, Lillian Rosasco; sisters, Eleanor Rosasco, Catherine Rosasco Cuneo and her husband, Joseph Cuneo and an infant brother, John Rosasco.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph's Church, Danbury, Tuesday morning at 10:00. Interment will be in St. Peter Cemetery.
There are no calling hours.

Elizabeth Maires Richmond
Elizabeth Maires Richmond, 79, of 211 Litchfield Rd., New Milford, died at her home in the Northville section on Friday.
Mrs. Richmond was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. June 15, 1920, a daughter of Thomas and Marguerite (Schenck) Maires.
She was married to Truman T. Richmond in 1942 in the Little Church Around the Cornerin New York City. Since that time, she had lived in the Northville section of New Milford. She attended Packer College in New York City and Wellesley College in Massachussetts.
She was a member of Palm Rebecca Lodge #43 of New Milford, the New Milford Garden Club and the New Milford Chapter of AARP. She was also a member of St. Marks Episcopal Church in Bridgewater.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three sons, Thomas E. Richmond of Osterville, Mass., James W. Richmond of Mill Valley, Calif. and Gordon L. Richmond II of New Milford; one daughter, Janet R. Manco of Kansas City, Mo.; one grandson; four granddaughters. She was predeceased by a son, Clark Richmond and a daughter, Anne Richmond.
A Memorial Service will be held in the spring at a time to be announced at St. Marks Episcopal Church in Bridgewater. Interment in the Northville Cemetery, New Milford.
George R. Brown
George R. Brown, of 4 South Mountain Road, Brookfield, former chairman of the Brookfield Board of Finance and onetime Democratic State Central Committeeman, died Nov. 19, 1999, in New Milford following a brief illness.
Mr. Brown, a scholar and humanitarian, was the quintessential politician. His active role in Democratic politics was shaped in the early days of the New Deal when he served as director of personnel for the National Youth Administration in New York State.
Following his move to Brookfield in 1954, he was instrumental in establishing a strong Democratic Town Committee which he chaired for a number of years. His foray into the political arena ended in defeat during the 1968 Nixon landscape. At that time, Brown ran for State Senator from the 32nd district.
A 1934 distinguished honor graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Brown simultaneously received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the university and a Bachelor of Science degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Though he subsequently received a Master's degree and Ph.D in economics from New York University, he never lost ties with the Ivy League school from which he received his undergraduate education and until recently was instrumental in interviewing prospective students applying to the University of Pennsylvania.
Mr. Brown was born in Albany, N.Y., on Nov. 10, 1912, son of the late Edmund Leo Brown and Katherine Hardt Brown. He is survived by his wife Anita Gustaferri Brown of Brookfield; a son, George R. Brown Jr. also of Brookfield; two daughters, Kathryn Brown Coffey of Appleton, ME, and Sara Brown Laughlin of New Milford; four grandsons, Theodore A. and Michael W. Brown of Brookfield, Chip Coffey of Edgecomb, ME, and Timothy G. Laughlin of New Milford; and two granddaughters, Sara S. Coffey of Chicago, IL, and Elizabeth M. Laughlin of New Milford. There are three great-granddaughters.
A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Nov. 27, 1999 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph's Church, Brookfield.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Brookfield Public Library, 182 Whisconier Road, Brookfield.

Florence McQuade
Florence Ayers McQuade, age 82, of Redding, CT, and beloved wife of Henry Scott McQuade, died Thursday, Nov. 18, 1999, at Harborside Glen Hill Rehab and Convalescent Home in Danbury.
Mrs. McQuade was born in the Bronx, N.Y., Dec. 14, 1916, a daughter of the late Rufus and Florence Metz Ayers. She spent most of her life in Connecticut and had been a resident of Redding since 1932. She was one of the first four-year graduates of Western Connecticut State College and retired from teaching after a total of 35 years service, 22 years of this teaching in her hometown of Redding. She has also taught in Ellington, Stratford, Easton and in Redding taught the elementary grades. In her retirement, she taught classes in Quilting for seniors at Redding Heritage House for many years.
She was a lifetime member of the National Education Association; a member of the Association of Retired Teachers of CT, Inc.; the Connecticut Education Assoc.; Order of the Eastern Star; Azalea #20 and Christ Church Parish Episcopal of Redding, Ct.
Besides her husband Henry of Redding; she is survived by 3 brothers, Rufus A. Ayers II and his wife Denise of Woodbury, CT and Florida, their Daughter Ahwren Ayers of Bellingham, WA, their sun Rufus A. Ayers III of Newtown, CT; brother Walter H. Ayers and his wife Anne of Redding and their daughters Joni Birks of Cornith, MI, and Patti A. Pavlik of Woodbury, CT; brother Richard B. Ayers of Branford, CT; sisters-in-law Violet-Rae Sanford and her sons Marshall G. Sanford, Henry A. Sanford and his wife Mary Ellen all of Redding, CT; sister-in-law Roberta M. Green of Hemet, CA.
The Funeral Service will be held at Christ Church Episcopal, Redding, Tuesday morning at 11:00 with the Rev. Kent Smith officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Cemetery, Redding.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Monday evening from 6 to 9.

George E. Kloepfer
George E. Kloepfer, age 86, formerly of Glen Crest Apts., Danbury, CT, died Saturday at Pope John Paul II Center for Health Care, Danbury. He was the husband of Anna Witt Kloepfer.
Mr. Kloepfer was born in Chester, PA, Feb. 4, 1913, a son of the late Charles and Margaret Nurtsch Kloepfer. Formerly of Lakewood, N.J., where he lived for 15 years after his retirement at age 65, he had been a Danbury resident for the past 5 years. He was employed as a Supervisor of Maintenance for Steven Holding Company in New York City for 35 years before his retirement. He was a member of the Bavarian Club in the Bronx, N.Y., and enjoyed gardening.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Werner A. Kloepfer of Bethel, CT; Charles G. Kloepfer of St. Louis, MO; a daughter, Margaret Dryer of Charlottesville, VA; 3 sisters, Freida Warren of Las Vegas, NY, Lily Ferdik of West Chester, PA, and Hilda Taylor of Henderson, NV; 5 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be conducted from the Bethel Funeral Home, 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Wednesday morning at 9:30 with a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Mary's Church, Bethel, at 10:00. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home, Tuesday afternoon from 2 to 4 and in the evening from 7 to 9.

Carmin J. Grande
Carmin J. Grande, 84, of 39 Sail Harbour Drive, New Fairfield, and formerly of Irvington and Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y., died Wednesday at his home.
Mr. Grande was born in Hastings, N.Y., September 29, 1915, and following service with the United States Army in the European Theatre during World War II, he developed a career with Creative Bakers in Brooklyn, N.Y., which ended with his retirement as the Bakery Manager two years ago.
He had been one of six siblings, a son of the late David and Mary Grace Grande, and he is survived by one brother, Alfonso Grande of Ft. Myers, Florida, and was predeceased by a brother, Patrick Grande.
Additional survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Patrick and Gemma Grande of New Fairfield; a granddaughter, Patricia M. Grande of Manhattan; and two grandsons, David M. Grande, also of Manhattan and Joseph C. Grande of New Fairfield.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church, New Fairfield on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Hastings-on-Hudson, N.Y. on Saturday at 11:15 a.m.
Friends will be received at The New Fairfield Funeral Home, Rt. 37 at Cottontail Road, New Fairfield on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Carmen Marie Gillotti
Carmen Marie Gillotti of Dunedin, Florida, died November 3 after a long illness. Carmen was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Russell J. Gillotti, former co-proprietor of D. Gigliotti and Sons Grocery Store in Danbury.
Carmen leaves behind her beloved sisters and brother, Jean Gillotti of Danbury, Linda DeMasi of Philadelphia, PA, and Joseph Santarone of Clearwater, FL. Carmen is also survived by her loving daughters, Jo Ann Della Monica of Palm Harbor, FL, and Mary Ann Kelleher of Montgomery, AL; six grandchildren, C.J. Zarcone of Danbury; Russell Zarcone of Apollo Beach, FL; Kevin Zarcone of Atlanta, GA; Debra Della Monica of Palm Harbor, FL; Heather Kane of Tampa, FL; and Erin Martinez of Fort Knox, KY; and four great-grandchildren.
Carmen was born on July 16, 1913, and lived her adult life in Danbury before moving to Florida in 1984. Carmen will be remembered for her strong faith, gentle demeanor, warm smile and ability to make friends.

Maria Pereira Alves
Maria Pereira Alves, age 78, of Clermont, Florida, died Friday, November 19th, at Health Central Park Nursing Home in Wintergarden, Florida, after a long illness.
She was the wife of Leonel Lopes Alves, residing in Florida, and a former resident of Danbury and Ferreiroz do Dao, Portugal.
Mrs. Alves was born on January 1, 1921, in Portugal, daughter of the late Jose Domingos and Felicidade Alves Candida.
Mrs. Alves immigrated to the United States with her children in 1959 to be reunited with her husband.
She was employed at Newmann Endler Hat Manufacturing Company, Data Controls and Consolidated Control Manufacturing Company.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Lucilia Alves of Florida, sons Luciano and Antonio Lopes of Florida, Jose A Lopes of Danbury and John Alves of North Dakota; grandchildren Michael and Luciano Lopes of Florida, Roberta Alves of Danbury and Dion Aires Lopes of California, Kirby, Kaitlin, Kelsy and Aaron Lopes of Florida and Sean and Ian Alves of North Dakota. In addition, she is survived by Luciano Pereira of Portugal and Jose Pereira of Brazil and pre-deceased by Antonio Pereira.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Ferreiroz do Dao, Portugal, on Monday, November 22.
Michael R. Mangano
Michael R. Mangano, age 61, of New Milford, CT, died Thursday at Danbury Hospital, Danbury, CT. He was the husband of Barbara Jean Nowel Mangano.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, May 14, 1938, a son of the late Frank and Ruth Nickel Mangano. He was raised in New Jersey, attending schools there, and had been a resident of Connecticut for more than 20 years. Mr. Mangano was a retired Lt. Colonel in the New Jersey Air National Guard, stationed at McGuire Air Force Base. He also was a manager with IBM in New York and Connecticut and had been working as a salesman at Radio Shack in New Milford.
Mr. Mangano was very active in both the Masonic order and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Order of the DeMolay in New Jersey and holder of the Chevalier Degree. He was a past Master of Eureka Lodge No. 83 in Bethel, a Royal Arch Mason and three times an Illustrious Commander and a member of Candlewood Shrine. He was a past Patron of Stellar Chapter No. 55, OES, and was past Grand Patron for the State of Connecticut OES. He was currently serving as Royal Patron, Order of Amaranth, Candlewood Court No. 25 in Bethel. He also served as past President on the Advisory Board of the Order of Rainbow for Girls, Danbury, Assembly No. 20, and was a past Dad Advisor for the Laurel Chapter Order of DeMolay for Boys in Bethel.
Mr. Mangano was a member of the Bethel American Legion Post, the Concordia Society in Danbury, CT, and was a former Boy Scout Leader, Baseball Coach and Pop Warner Football Coach in Tom's River, N.J.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 2 sons, Daniel A. Mangano of Ontario, NY, and Michael F. Mangano of Danbury, CT; a daughter, Betsy Ann Azzarito of Danbury, CT; a sister, Judith Doster of Winter Park, FL, and six grandchildren. He was predeceased by his grandson Bobby.

During the evening hours there will be services conducted by the Order of the Amaranth at 7:30, the Order of the Eastern Star at 8:00 and a Masonic service at 8:30.
Mohanlal Bhavsar
Mohanlal Bhavsar, 81, of Brookfield, Connecticut, died Thursday at Mediplex of Danbury.
Mr. Bhavsar was the husband of Kancha Ben Bhavsar.
He was born in Bulsar, India, December 27, 1917, a son of Kesurbhai and Mani Ben Bhavsar.
Mr. Bharvsar moved to Brookfield in 1984 and was a certified public accountant.
Besides his wife Kancha, he is survived by 5 sons and 2 daughters, Kapil, Chandan, Kisshor, Mahesh, Bharat, Naresh and Ranjan; 2 brothers, Kantilal and Haresh; 3 sisters, Tara Ben, Lilavati and Bachu Ben; 11 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren.
Calling hours: Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main Street, Danbury.
Services: Sunday at 10 a.m. at Tomlinson Homestead. Family and friends will proceed to Charter Oak Crematory, Oxford.
