Wesley Francis Robinson

Wesley (Wes) Robinson, 81, a resident of Riverside CA and husband of Elizabeth Ruth (Betty) Robinson, was pronounced dead on July 25.

Born July 10, 1918 in Green Acres, Washington, Wes moved to Santa Monica in 1938 to join his brother, Joe Robinson, who was a golf professional at Brentwood Country Club. He started a 30+ year career with North American Aviation, where he worked on the Apollo program. His career was interrupted by his service in the U.S. Navy during World War II, during which he was stationed in Guam.

Wes and Betty were married in 1940, and raised their family in Lakewood where they lived for nearly 25 years. Wes was involved in the formation of an active Little League program, and volunteered for the Scouts and Indian Guides.

In addition to his wife, Betty, Wes is survived by his three sons and their wives, Skip and Janet Robinson of Brookfield, Conn.; Jim and Linda Robinson of Yorba Linda, CA, and Greg and Lori Robinson of Thousand Oaks, CA; six grandchildren, and one great grandson.

A memorial service was held Thursday, July 29 at the Rubidoux Mortuary, Riverside, CA.

Donations may be made to the American Heart Association.

Elizabeth Leach

Elizabeth (Cox) Leach, 67, of 17C Heritage Crest in Southbury, Conn. died on Monday, August 2, 1999 at Mediplex of Southbury. She was the wife of Benton R. Leach.

Mrs. Leach was born on December 21, 1931 in Staten Island, N.Y., daughter of the late Robert S. and Bessie (Michels) Cox.

She graduated from Drew University in Madison, N.J. and received a master's in library science from Southern Connecticut State University in 1990. She worked at the Southbury town library, retiring in 1994. She had previously worked at the Cancer Information Service at Yale, and as a volunteer for the American Cancer Society in Woodbridge,Conn. She formerly resided in Woodbridge, moving to Southbury in 1991.

Besides her husband, she leaves a son, Jeffrey R. Leach of Morristown, N.J.; a daughter, Susan C. Leach of Newtown, Conn. and four grandchildren. Her brother, John H. Cox, predeceased her.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 11 a.m., at St. Paul's Church, Woodbury, Conn. Burial is at the family's convenience.

Arrangements are by Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury, Conn.

Raymond Feeley

Raymond Feeley, 58, of Line Street in Southampton, Mass., formerly of Danbury, Conn., died on Monday, August 2, 1999.

He was born in Danbury, Conn. on August 9, 1940, son of the late Joseph and Marguerite (Campbell) Feeley.

Mr. Feeley was a very active member with the St. Phillip's Church in Easthampton, Mass. Since age 12, he had had his amateur radio operator license with the call sign K1CSB.

He leaves his wife of 25 years, Elise (Bernier) Feeley, and one sister, Anne Trenck of Brookfield, Conn.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, 10 a.m., at the St. Phillip's Church, Easthampton, Mass. Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery in Easthampton.

Calling hours are Wednesday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the Boucher-O'Brien Funeral Home, Easthampton, Mass.

Edward J. Yeo

Edward J. Yeo, 73, of Mountain Home, Ark. and formerly of Sandy Hook, Conn., died on July 30, 1999 at Baxter County Regional Hospital in Arkansas.

Born on December 21, 1925 in Pearl River, N.Y., he was the son of the late Edward and Thelma Wood Yeo. He married Ellen Eilleen Nystrom on November 1, 1947 in Norwalk, Conn. He worked for 25 years for Westinghouse Unimation in Danbury, where he was chief draftsman.

He had lived in Mountain Home, Ark. since August 1989, where he was a member of the American Legion Alley White Post #52.

Besides his wife, Mr. Yeo is survived by two sons, Steven Yeo of Wauwatosa, Wis. and Donald Yeo of Moberly, Mo.; a daughter, Cheryl A. Yeo of Greenwood, Ark.; a brother, George A. Yeo of Groton, Conn. and eight grandchildren.

A memorial service was held Monday at the Kirby-Conner-Boaz Funeral Home, Mountain Home, Ark. A private burial followed at Kirby's Tucker Memorial Cemetery.

Contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation.

Ann M. Genovese

Ann M. Genovese died on August 2, 1999 at her home at the age of 77. She was the wife of Joseph R. Genovese Sr. and lived at 1 East Hayestown Road, Barclay Commons #32, Danbury, Conn.

Mrs. Genovese was born in New York City on October 28, 1921, daughter of the late Alfonso and Rafaella Citarella Esposito, and received her education in New York schools.

She worked as assistant to the president of Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center in New York City for 25 years, retiring in 1985. She came to Danbury 11 years ago from Ft. Lee, N.J. She was a member of St. Gregory Church, its seniors and the Vespucci Senior Group. She was also a member of the Seraphic Society of New York.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son, Joseph Jr. and his wife Donna of Scottsdale, Ariz.; her daughter, Joan Reuter and her husband Reinhold of Hawthorne, N.Y.; five grandchildren; a brother, Alfonse Esposito, and a sister, Elvira Burrows, both of Boca Raton, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, 10 a.m., at St. Gregory Church, Danbury. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Hawthorne, N.Y.

Friends may call on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.

Lisa Garavel Terry

Lisa Garavel Terry, wife of Kenneth Terry, of 6 Sierra Way in Danbury, Conn., daughter of Bob and Phyllis Garavel, died at Greenwich Hospital on August 2, 1999 of breast cancer.

Born on May 25, 1956 in Bridgeport, Conn., Mrs. Terry was a resident of Danbury for most of the last 30 years of her life. She graduated from St. Peter School and Immaculate High School in Danbury. She also attended Quinnipiac College and graduated from the Danbury Hospital School of Radiological Technology.

Mrs. Terry was employed as a radiological technician and worked in the Radiation Therapy Department at Greenwich Hospital from 1977 to 1987. She was a member of St. Peter Church in Danbury.

In addition to her husband and her parents, Mrs. Terry is survived by her three children, Caitlin, Matthew and Michael Terry. She is also survived by two brothers, Paul Garavel of Redding, Conn. and Mark Garavel of New Britain, Conn., in addition to many cousins, nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Her family and many friends loved her for the exemplary courage she showed in her battle against breast cancer, as did the extraordinary caregivers at the Bendheim Cancer Center at Greenwich Hospital. They will all miss her dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, noon, at St. Peter Church, Danbury.

Friends may call on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cornell Memorial Home, 247 White St., Danbury.

Contributions in her memory may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 5005 L.B.J. Freeway, Suite 250, Dallas, TX 75244.

Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

Joe Mayo

Joe Mayo, 87, of Danbury Commons, 51 Main St., Danbury, Conn. died on Monday, August 2, 1999 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of the late Ernestine (Brown) Mayo.

He was born in Pitt County, N.C. on February 2, 1912, a son of the late John and Mandy (Daniels) Mayo.

Mr. Mayo is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Joe and Rose Mayo of Houston, Texas, John and Dallas Mayo of Elizabeth, N.J. and William and Cynthia Mayo of Danbury, Conn.; three daughters, Mattie Ruth Clemons of Union, N.J., Carrie Brimage of Greenville, N.C. and Mavis Brown of Manhattan, N.Y.; two sisters, Laura Brimage and Lottie Farmer, both of Danbury; three brothers-in-law, Joe Natham Perry Sr. of Fredericksburg, Va., Howard Brown of Greenville, N.C. and Robert Farmer of Danbury; a special niece and nephew, Margie Mayo and Joe Tillery, both of Danbury; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by a sister, Ruby Parker, and a granddaughter, Kimberly Scott.

Contributions in Mr. Mayo's memory may be made to St. James A.M.E. Church, 47 Williams St., Danbury, CT 06810.

Calling hours are on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. James A.M.E. Church, 47 Williams St., Danbury.

Services are on Friday, 11 a.m., at St. James A.M.E. Church. Burial will follow at Wooster Cemetery in Danbury.

The Tomlinson Homestead, 336 Main St., Danbury is in charge of arrangements.

Francis H. Barnhart

Francis H. Barnhart died on July 31, 1999 at his home in Mamaroneck, N.Y. He was 81 years old.

Mr. Barnhart was born on March 14, 1918 in Brooklyn, N.Y. to Francis and Mabel Heller Barnhart. A flight engineer during World War II in the Army Air Corps, he was the owner of Crystal Motors Inc. in New Rochelle, N.Y. He was an avid sailor.

Mr. Barnhart was pre-deceased by his wife Frances (nee Hollings). He is survived by a son, F.H. Barnhart of Englewood, N.J.; a daughter, Barbara Hostetler and her husband Kenneth Neil Hostetler of Newtown, Conn.; a brother, Edward Barnhart of Westport, Conn.; a sister, Roberta Clark of Ridgefield, Conn.; and grandchildren, Bruce E. Carlson and his wife Leslie and Brett A. Carlson and his wife Theresa.

Visitation will be on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Coxe & Graziano Funeral Home, Mamaroneck, N.Y., where a funeral service will commence at 7:15 p.m. Committal will be private.

Anne I. Miller

Anne I. Miller, 98, of Bradenton, Fla. and formerly of Danbury, Conn., died on August 1, 1999.

Born in Yonkers, N.Y. on December 30, 1900, she grew up and spent most of her adult life in Danbury. She was a homemaker and a member of United Lutheran Society. She was a member of Congregational United Church of Christ in Bradenton, Fla.

She is survived by two sons, John of Bradenton, Fla. and Fredric, of Palmetto, Fla.; two sisters, Sue Ullric of New York and Kathleen Day of Connecticut; 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Memorial donations may be made to The Salvation Army, P.O. Box 1179, Bradenton, FL 34206.

Kenneth John Stack

Kenneth John Stack, 58, of 416 Griswold St. in Glastonbury, Conn. died on Monday, August 2, 1999 at home with his family around him after a courageous and stubborn battle with cancer.

He was born on August 19, 1940 in Bronx, N.Y. to Howard F. and Helen (McGrath) Stack. He was a 1962 graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wis., where he was a member of the Student Senate; Sigma Delta Chi, the national journalism fraternity; and Delta Sigma Pi, the honorary Spanish fraternity. He was city editor of the college newspaper, the Marquette Tribune, and an editor of the student literary magazine.

After taking his degree in journalism and Spanish, he went to work for the Worcester Star-Telegram in Worcester, Mass. as a general assignment reporter.

Drafted into the U.S. Army, whose ranking Pfc. he claimed to have become, he trained in the Signal Corps before transferring to the Public Information Office. He served in Germany, took his honorable discharge in Europe and traveled widely before settling in Madrid, Spain, where he produced articles and photographs for various U.S. publications.

He returned to the United States in 1967, worked briefly for a trade paper in Washington, D.C. and for the Harrisburg (Pa.) Patriot-News, before taking a job at the The News-Times in Danbury, Conn., where he was town hall and then state capitol reporter. He went to the Hartford Courant in 1977, where he worked as a copy editor until the week before his death.

Besides his wife of 31 years, the former Kathleen Healy, he is survived by three children, Gregory of Washington, D.C., Martha of Boston, Mass. and Megan of Dallas, Texas; his father, Howard Stack of Rockville, Md.; three brothers, Gerard of Rockville, Md., Robert and his wife Jan of Gales Ferry, Conn. and Peter of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Eileen Stevens and her husband Gene of Wheaton, Md. and Judy Wido and her husband Mark of Illinois; his father-in-law, Patrick Healy of Arlington, Va.; three sisters-in-law, Patricia Goldman and her husband Warren of Salinas, Calif., Theresa Jensen and her husband Donald of Lousiville, Ky. and Barbara Munsey and her husband Allen of South Riding, Va.; a brother-in-law, Patrick Healy Jr. and his wife Suzanne of Charlottesville, Va.; his aunt, Katherine McGrath of Long Island, N.Y.; numerous cousins nieces and nephews; a grandniece and many friends in and out of the newspaper business. He was predeceased by his mother, his brother,

Clinton, and his sister, Patricia.

The funeral will be on Friday with a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Paul Church, 2577 Main St., Glastonbury, Conn., after which his family will welcome friends for a reception at St. Paul Parish Hall, Naubuc Avenue.

Calling hours will be on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at Mulryan Funeral Home, 2534 Main St., Glastonbury. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.

His friends at the Courant have established a scholarship fund in his memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Marquette University, 1212 W. Wisconsin Ave. No. 505, P.O. Box 1881, Milwaukee, WI 53201, the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, Mass. or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Gerard Joseph Leblanc

Gerard Joseph Leblanc, 74, died on Saturday, July 31, 1999 at Ashlar of Newtown.

He was born in Chicago, Ill. on May 25, 1925, the son of Edgar and Ida Thibodeau Leblanc. He served in the United States Marine Corps for 20 years and also was a member of the Marine Corps Reserves. Mr. Leblanc was a resident of Bethel prior to Ashlar.

He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Leblanc, and a sister, Freda Leblanc.

Mr. Leblanc is survived by two sisters, Geraldine Boudreau of Bethel and Rose Boudreau of Manchester, Vt.; and one brother, Roger Leblanc of Danbury.

There will be a memorial mass for family and friends on Saturday, 9 a.m., at St. Joseph Church, Main Street, Danbury. There will be no funeral services.
