Dian Croteau
Dian (Burbank) Croteau, 61, of 40 Cross Patch Road, Charlestown, R.I., wife of 38 years of William D. Croteau, died Sunday (May 9) surrounded by her loving family at home. Born in Stafford, Conn.,
Dian was a resident of Enfield most of her life, moving to New Milford in 1970 and to Charlestown in 1992. She was a graduate of Enfield High School, Class of 1954, and was employed as a teacher's aide in the New Milford School system, retiring in 1992.
Dian is survived by two sons, Daniel and his wife, Christine Croteau, of Michigan and Paul W. Croteau of New Milford; a daughter, Susan M. Croteau of Danbury; two grandsons, William and Samuel Croteau; and a stepbrother, Thomas Martin of Milford.
She was predeceased by her mother, Laura (Gallant) Burbank Martin who died in 1994.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, 61 South Road, Enfield followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. at Holy Family Church, Simon Road, Enfield. Burial will be in St. Bernard's Cemetery. Dian's family will receive friends and relatives at the Leete-Stevens Enfield Chapels, Tuesday 5-8 p.m. Memorial donations in Dian's memory may be made to the Hospice Care of Rhode Island, 143 Main St., Wakefield, RI 02879.
Robert E. Pratt
Robert E. Pratt, a Wingdale resident, died Friday, May 7, 1999, in New Milford, Conn. He was 84.
Mr. Pratt had lived in Wingdale since 1984, was married to Gladys E. Pratt, who died in July 1998.
He worked as a New York State Parks Maintenance employee for the Taconic State Park Commission. After his retirement he volunteered at the Peale Center in Pawling as a Prayer Partner. He was also an avid tinsmith. He was also a veteran of World War II, serving with the Army Medical Corps as a staff sergeant stationed in the South Pacific.
Mr. Pratt was a member of the Valley Bible Fellowship Church in Poughquag, N.Y.
He was born in New York, N.Y., March 3, 1915 to Reuben and Pauline Pratt.
He is survived by a sister, Audrey Teter of Wycoff, N.J.; a brother, Oliver A. Pratt, Cresskill, N.J.; three sons, Robert A. Pratt of Rockville Center, N.Y., David Pratt of Hopewell Junction and Stuart Pratt of Carmel; a daughter, Ruth Ann McCrodden of Newtown, Conn.; and nine grandchildren.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by Horn and Thomes Funeral Home in Pawling.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 14, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. The service will be at the Valley Bible Fellowship Church in Poughquag, N.Y. For information please call 226-8793 or 225-5310.

Arthur A. See
Arthur A. See, age 78 of Brewster, N.Y., died May 9, 1999 at his son Raymond's home in Putnam Lake, N.Y. He was the husband of the late Nancy (Partelow) See.
Mr. See was born March 23, 1921, in White Plains, N.Y., son of the late Alexander and Roseltha (Gossoo) See. He graduated from White Plains High School and was a veteran of WW II, having served in the Army.
Mr. See married Nancy Partelow on Aug. 18, 1950. in Pleasantville, NY.
Mr. See was employed as a construction laborer for Local 235 of the Laborers Union. He retired after many years in 1986. He was a member of the American Legion Post in Brewster, N.Y., and a Master Gardener with the Cooperative Extension in Mahopac, N.Y. for 30 years.
Mr. See had lived in Brewster since 1957, having lived in Millwood, N.Y., for four years and White Plains, N.Y., for many years prior.
Mr. See is survived by a son, Raymond See of Putnam Lake, N.Y.; and a daughter, Marie Brunner of Baltimore; a brother Lester See of White Plains, N.Y.; and six grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 12, at 1:30 p.m. at Beecher Funeral Home, 1 Putnam Ave., Brewster, N.Y. Interment at Milltown Rural Cemetery, Brewster.

Marie Alesi
Marie Alesi, 87, of Barnum Road, New Fairfield and widow of James Alesi, died Sunday at Ashlar of Newtown.
She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., May 27, 1911, a daughter of Phillip and Pauline (Attenasio) Allegrante.
Mrs. Alesi was a buyer for Abraham & Strauss Department Stores. For the last three years, she made her home with her son Philip in New Fairfield.
Besides her son Philip, she is survived by two brothers, Anthony of Florida and Philip Allegrante of Pleasant Valley, N.Y.; one sister, Pauline Kane of Florida; four grandchildren, Penny Alesi-Kaffka of New Fairfield, Phillip Alesi of New Milford, James Alesi of New Fairfield and Joseph Alesi of New Milford; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family at St. Edward the Confessor Roman Catholic Church.
Arrangements are under the direction of the New Fairfield Funeral Home.
Anna Mary Curtin
Anna Mary Curtin, age 72, of Haviland Dr., Patterson, NY. died May 8, 1999, at Yale-New Haven.
Mrs. Curtin was a computer operator for Chemical Bank, NYC.
A resident of Patterson since 1972, she was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Putnam Lake, NY, and the Sacred Heart Church Senior Citizens.
Born in Manhattan, she was a daughter of Patrick J. and Bridget Farley Clarke.
Mrs. Curtin married Benjamin Curtin, April 28, 1951, in Bronx, NY. Mr. Curtin died Jan. 2, 1998.
Survivors include a son, Bernard Curtin of Wingdale,. NY; a brother, Andrew Clarke of Putnam Lake, NY; three sisters, Mary Kelly of East Northport, NY, Josephine Russell of Putnam Lake, NY, and Bernadette Tombline of Brewster, NY; two grandsons, Benjamin & John Curtin of Wingdale, NY; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Putnam Lake, NY. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery, Pawling, NY.

Clara Finelli
Mrs. Clara (Rinaldi) Finelli, 75, of 13 Miller St., Waterbury, died Sunday, May 9, at St. Mary's Hospital. She was the wife of Pat Finelli.
Mrs. Finelli was born in Waterbury May 4, 1924 daughter of the late Carmine and Elizabetta (Antoniazzi) Rinaldi. She was a Hostess at Bacco's Restaurant for 10 years retiring in 1974. She was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Besides her husband she leaves a son Anthony A. Finelli of Watertown, 2 daughters Betty Azzara of Danbury, and Claire Posa of Burlington, CT, a brother Anthony Rinaldi of Naugatuck, 2 sisters, Mrs. Victoria DeNoto of Waterbury, and Mrs. Edith Covino of Middlebury, 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased are a daughter Patricia Finelli and a brother Aldo Rinaldi.
Arrangements: Funeral Wednesday at 8 am from Case Parkway Memorial/The Albini Family Funeral Home 430 Chase Parkway to the Immaculate Conception Church for a mass at 9 am. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery in Waterbury.

Eleanor Sessa Palmoski
Eleanor Sessa Palmoski, 83, passed away April 1, 1999, at her Tamarac, FL, home.
The daughter of Bert and May James and sister of Albert James, she was born Dec. 5, 1915, in Brooklyn, NY, and lived in Stamford most of her life until moving to Florida in 1984. She spent her summers at Pleasure Beach in Stratford.
Eleanor was Past President of the Stamford Elks Emblem Club #53. She is survived by her husband Vincent, her daughter Vera Tovino, her sons Jim and Tom Sessa, 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will take place May 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa Catholic Church, Rt. 6, Woodbury. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Charles E. Boyle
Charles E. Boyle, 75, husband of Betty (Belansky) Boyle, surrendered himself peacefully into the Heavens, on Friday, May 7, surrounded by his family after a brief illness.
Charlie was born in New York City April 27th, 1924 to the late Mary Nammack Boyle and Judge John Neville Boyle, Sr. He resided in New York City, then at the family home "Faraway Hills" on Boggs Hill Road in Newtown, CT. He was a Danbury resident since his marriage.
He bravely and with conviction served his country in the U.S. Navy with an Honorable Discharge in 1946.
Charlie was educated in the scholastic tradition, graduating in 1942 from Cranwell Preparatory School. His quest for knowledge led him to receive in 1949 from Yale University a B.S. in Botany, in 1956 from Fairfield University, an M.A. in Education. In 1960, as a National Science Fellow at Rutgers University, he was instituted into the Earth Science Institute. In 1964 from Union College, he received a M.S.T. in Geology. Additionally, graduate courses in religious studies were taken at Fairfield University, and in 1976 at the State University of New York-Fordham sponsored by the John XXIII Institute and the Maryknoll Seminary which resulted in an M.A. in Eastern Oriental Theology. In addition, through the Universal Life Church he received a Doctor of Divinity and Doctor of Metaphysics.
Professionally, he was a safety engineer and senior field underwriter with the National Insurance Company. He retired from teaching the sciences in 1981, having taught last in the Westport school system. He was currently involved in the study of Metaphysics, Mythical systems, the Megalithic Phenomena, as well as the language system, investigating, comparing and interpreting ancient languages to those of today. He was a lecturer throughout the Northeast and Colorado, with several copyrighted monographs. His book in progress is entitled, "Megaliths, Mysteries and Messages." He was a member of the Epigraphic Society, the Health Science Institute, a Dowsing Consultant, a healing practitioner, and a Native American pipe carrier. He was also a past elected member of the Danbury School Board.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, he is survived by his loving daughter, Patricia Ann Paquette and son-in-law, Danbury Police Chief Robert L. Paquette, Jr. Charlie also leaves behind a sister, Helen Galbraith of New York; a sister and brother-in-law, Drs. Margaret and Ralph Kinsella of Missouri; a sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Gerard Brunnquell of New Jersey; a sister, Victoria Boyle-Harger of Virginia; and a sister-in-law, Betty C. Boyle of South Carolina. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, their families, and his "adopted" daughter and grandchildren, Cheri, Tyler and Alexis Petersen of Colorado. He was pre-deceased by his brother, John N. Boyle, Jr., brothers-in-law, George Galbraith and Kirk Harger.
Charlie's personal interests included fishing, exploring nature, holistic health, herbology and Native American Indian history and practice. He was an avid gardener, unselfishly sharing his vast knowledge, enthusiasm, time and the reaps of his garden with his family and friends.
At his request, cremation will follow with his earthly remains scattered in the mountains of New Hampshire. In praise and thanksgiving of his life, contributions may be made to Regional Hospice Western Connecticut, 30 West Street, Danbury, CT 06810 or St. Paul's Church, Spring Street, Danbury, CT.
G. Sanford Johnson
G. Sanford Johnson, age 103, of Danbury, formerly of Bethel, died Thursday at Filosa Convalescent Center, Danbury. He was the husband of the late Florence Bates Johnson and the late Mara Louise Street Johnson.
Mr. Johnson was born in Roxbury, Conn., January 27, 1896, a son of Gustaf and Alma Anderson Johnson and served in the Army during World War One. He lived in Roxbury and Woodbury, Conn., until moving to Bethel. Mr. Johnson owned and operated a farm for more than 50 years in the Wolfpit district of Bethel. He also did masonry work in the area, while still maintaining the farm.
Mr. Johnson is survived by 2 nieces, Lois Whittlesey Woodin of Bethel and Lillian Whittlesey Torres of Dover, NH, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister Esther Whittlesey in 1997 and a nephew Robert Whittlesey in 1998.
Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.
The funeral service will be held at the Bethel Funeral Home 215 Greenwood Ave., Bethel, Tuesday afternoon at 2:00. Burial will be in Wolfpit Cemetery, Bethel.
The family will receive friends at the Bethel Funeral Home on Tuesday, during the hour preceding the service, from 1:00 to 2:00.
Robert W. Joyce
Robert W. Joyce, age 65, of Boynton Beach, FL, and Brookfield, CT, died Tuesday, September 29, 1998, in Delray Medical Center, Delray Beach, FL, following a brief illness.
Mr. Joyce taught Industrial Arts at Joel Barlow Regional High School, Redding, CT, from 1959 until retiring in 1988. In 1986 he received recognition for Outstanding Teacher of the Year. He was a member of NEA and CEA; Masonic Lodge, Boynton Beach and Danbury, CT; and the Boynton Beach Square Club. He was a very active member of the Congregational Church of Brookfield, CT, and Boynton Beach, FL, and a member of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Dept., Candlewood Company, Brookfield, CT.
Survived by his wife of 44 years, Grace C. Joyce, Boynton Beach, FL; 2 sons, Kevin E. Joyce and Scott A. Joyce, both of New Milford, CT; 1 brother, Donald E. Joyce, Boynton Beach, FL; 1 nephew, Dennis E. Joyce, Wading River, Long Island; and 1 cousin, Nancy Wheeler, Trumbull, CT.
A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 15, 1999, at the Brookfield Congregational Church, Route 25, Brookfield, CT Burial will follow in Stepney Cemetery, Monroe, CT, Route 25, Brookfield.
