Sadie A. Chiarella Pane
Sadie A. Chiarella Pane, 78, of Prince Street, Danbury, died unexpectedly April 29, 1999, at Danbury Hospital. She was the wife of Phil Pane.
Born July 11, 1920, in Danbury, she was a daughter of Philip and Rose (Talarico) Chiarella.
Mrs. Pane had been employed as a supervisor for the former Windsor Brush Co. of Danbury. She was a member of St. Joseph Church.
Besides her husband, she is survived by three daughters and their husbands, Susan and James Patton of Danbury, Linda and Andrew Benicewicz of Danbury, and Carol Ann and Gene Bates of Fort Mill, S.C.; a brother, Louis Chiarella of Danbury; eight grandchildren, Stephen, Scott, Elizabeth, Andrew, Jaime, Ryan, Jimmy and Emily; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph Church Monday morning at 9 a.m. Burial will follow in St. Peter Cemetery.
Friends will be received at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury, Sunday from 6 to 9 p.m.
Harriet Hanley Mitchell
Harriet Hanley Mitchell, 76, of Danbury, died on Thursday (April 29) at her home after a prolonged illness.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Danbury on June 25, 1922, and for the past nine years had been employed as a nurse's aide at Park Terrace in Danbury and most recently at Danbury Towers. She also cooked and served meals at these places.
Her favorite pastime hobby was dancing, and she was a member of Women of The Moose Lodge in Danbury. Harriet was a fun-spirited woman who will be truly missed.
Survivors include her two cousins, Helen Fox and Myrtle French. She was predeceased by her son, Walter "Wally" Mitchell, a very special son who died in August 1998.
In the last few weeks, Mrs. Mitchell was given care by her close friend, Eva Barnes of Danbury.
Services will be held at the graveside on Monday, May 3 at 11 a.m. in Wooster Cemetery, Danbury.
Friends may call at the Bouton Funeral Home, 31 West Church Street, Georgetown, on Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.

James W. Tobin Sr.
James W. Tobin Sr., 87, of 22 Cottage Grove Lane, Waterbury, Conn., died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Waterbury. Mr. Tobin was the husband of the late Jane Phelan Tobin.
Mr. Tobin was born September 28, 1911, in Waterbury, the son of John H. and Alida (Jordan) Tobin. Mr. Tobin worked most of his life in sales, many of which were for Genalco Inc. selling construction supplies and retired in the late seventies. Mr. Tobin attended Scared Heart and Crosby High School and Villanova College. He was a past member of the Knights of Columbus and a communicant of Our Lady of Lebanon Church.
He is survived by seven children, James H. Tobin Jr. of Oxford, Mrs. Francis (Jane) Zapatka of Union City, John H. Tobin of Southbury, Mrs. Roland (Justine) LeVasseur of Waterbury, Joseph F. Tobin of New Milford, Thomas A. Tobin of Kirkland, Washington, and Richard E. Tobin of Rocky Hill; 11 grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held May 3, 1999, at 9:30 a.m. from Bergin Funeral Home, 290 E. Main St., for The Service of the Divine Mysteries for Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lebanon Church. Friends may call at Bergin Funeral Home from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, May 2. The Incense Service will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mary Sue 'Sudie' Wilkinson
Mary Sue "Sudie" Wilkinson, age 63, of Bridgewater, Conn. died suddenly at Danbury Hospital on Tuesday, March 30, 1999. She was the wife of Loy Wilkinson.
She was born on September 17, 1935 in Charleston, W.Va., a daughter of Richard Ery and Ruth Ralsten Woodrum. An alumna of Morris Harvey College, Charleston, W.Va. with a degree in Dental Technology, Mrs. Wilkinson had been a resident of Bridgewater for 18 years.
She worked for many years as a volunteer in Danbury Hospital, and for the past four years was employed at the Pottery Barn in Danbury Fair mall. Mrs. Wilkinson was a member of the Bridgewater Congregational Church and had served as a deacon. She was an active member of the Bridgewater Republican Party.
Besides her husband, Mrs. Wilkinson is survived by two sons, John Wilkinson of Sherman, Conn., and Andrew Wilkinson of New Milford, Conn.; a daughter, Molly Stratton of Bridgewater, Conn.; a brother, Robert Woodrum of South Charleston, W.Va.; two sisters, Sally Young of Winston-Salem, N.C. and Ruth Thomas of Charleston, W.Va.; five grandchildren, Robert and Mathew Wilkinson and Sarah, JP and David Stratton; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held in the Bridgewater Congregational Church, two to three weeks hence. Burial will be in South Cemetery, Bridgewater at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

George Blum
George Blum, 89, of Camp Hill, Pa., formerly of New Fairfield, died Friday, March 26, 1999 at home.
He was born in Rausse, Germany, on June 15, 1909 and immigrated to America in 1930. He was the retired owner of Reliance Displays and Interiors in New York City and worked in the Brooklyn Navy Yard during World War II.
Mr. Blum was a member of the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church and the Von Mensch F & AM Lodge No. 756 in New York.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth of Camp Hill, Pa.; daughter Sue Shier of Pennington, N.J.; sons Charles of Chevy Chase, Md. and Edward of Mechanicsburg, whose wife is Polly Delohery Blum, formerly of Danbury; 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 10, 11 a.m., at the Camp Hill Presbyterian Church, 101 North 23rd Street, Camp Hill, Pa.

Mary Rosko Thomas
Mary (Rosko) Thomas, 88, formerly of 40 Williams St., Danbury, wife of the late Raymond Thomas, died March 29, 1999 at Mediplex Health Care Center.
She was born in Yonkers, N.Y. on February 17, 1911, daughter of John and Annie (Yurcsisin) Rosko. She attended Yonkers schools.
Mrs. Thomas was employed by Phelph Dodge of Yonkers, N.Y. in the accounting department until her retirement in 1976. She was an avid traveler and gardener.
She is survived by a daughter, Lorraine Magzag of Brookfield, Conn.; a sister, Helen Wasack of Yonkers, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Maryann Hambidge, Lori Stopera, Martin C. Magzag and Michael Magzag; five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother Joseph in 1985.
Private funeral services and entombment in Ferncliff Mausoleum will take place at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Evelyn W. McGreivey
Evelyn W. McGreivey, 89, of Raritan Township, N.J., formerly of Bethel, died Tuesday, March 30, 1999 at her home.
Born in Jersey City, N.J. on January 15, 1910, daughter of Henry and Anna Williams Woefle, she had formerly resided in Bethel, Conn. from 1942 to 1955, then in Saddle River, N.J. for over 30 years before moving to Raritan Township four years ago.
Mrs. McGreivey was a former home economics teacher in the Waterford, N.Y. school system. She was a volunteer for many years at the Hermitage Museum, Ho-ho-kus, N.J. and later was a volunteer at the Hunterdon Co. Historical Society Museum, Flemington, N.J.
Her husband, John McGreivey, died in 1989. Surviving are a daughter, Evelyn Burtis of Flemington, N.J.; a son, John McGreivey of Cato, N.Y.; a sister, Gertrude Sterling of Hackettstown, N.J.; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Arrangements and interment will be private, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington, N.J. There will be no calling hours.
Patricia Phelan
Patricia Ann (Bartow) Phelan, 46, of 93 Robbins St., Waterbury, Conn., died Tuesday, March 23, in Waterbury.
She was the wife of Robert J. Phelan.
Mrs. Phelan was born March 1, 1953 in Danbury, daughter of Stuart and Mary Bartow of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., formerly of Danbury.
Besides her husband, she leaves four sons, Roger Gully, Michael Gully, David Schadee, and Wade Parker; a daughter, Randy Mellisa Parker; stepdaughter, Christa Phelan; step-granddaughter, Cassandria Phelan; a grandson, William Gully; four brothers, Stuart Bartow of Salem, N.Y., twin brother, Gerald Bartow of Danbury, Bradley Bartow of Ft. Myers Beach, Fla., and Keith Bartow of Gaylordsville, Conn.; a sister, Nancy Kalosky of Waterbury, Conn.; along with several nieces and nephews.
Private services will be conducted on Thursday, April 1, at 11:30 a.m. at St. James Episcopal Church.

Donald D. Winspur
Donald D. Winspur, husband of Lois (Holmes) Winspur of 39 Orchard Hill Rd., Newtown, Conn., died Sunday March 28 in the Danbury Hospital.
Born in Westport, he was the son of the late Alfred & Ellen (Maguire) Winspur. A resident of Newtown 41 years, he was a retired union carpenter. During World War II he served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived, besides his wife, by two sisters, Alice McCarthy of Newtown and Virginia Mackro of Monroe, a brother, Alfred W. Winspur Jr. and his wife Irene of Newtown; several nieces and nephews including his devoted nephew Philip Corning of Monroe, also two adopted grandsons Jesse and Erik Birden.
He was predeceased by two brothers David and Matthew Winspur Sr. and two sisters, Catherine Lewis and Grace Corning.
Graveside services will be held at the Newtown Village Cemetery Wednesday, at 11 a.m. with Rev. Steven Gordon, officiating. There are no calling hours. Arrangements by Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main St., Newtown.
Mary Moran
Mary Howley Moran, age 96, formerly of South Street, died on Sunday, March 28, 1999 at Stella Maris Hospice, Timonium, Md.
Mrs. Moran was born March 2, 1903, the daughter of William and Ella Curtin Howley. Two brothers and two sisters predeceased her.
She attended local schools. Following her 1923 graduation from Danbury Normal School, she began teaching at the two-room Ironworks School in Brookfield, Conn. In 1927, she took a position as a fifth-grade teacher at the Edison School in Port Chester, N.Y.
In 1936, she returned to Danbury and married Joseph L. Moran. Mr. Moran died in 1994.
In 1954, Mrs. Moran resumed her teaching career at St. Peter School, retiring in 1966. She later served as secretary for St. Peter's Parish until 1991.
Mrs. Moran moved to the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and John Buckley in Glen Arm, Md. in 1994.
She is survived by two daughters, Ellen and Sharon, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
Calling hours will be at Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury on Tuesday, March 30, 1999 from 5 to 8 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Peter Church on Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Bethel.

William T. Graves
William T. Graves, 63, of 544 Reservoir Road, Southbury, died Monday, March 29, at his home. He was the husband of Maureen C. Johnston-Graves.
Mr. Graves was born August 11, 1935, in Greenwich, Conn., son of the late William T. and Ruth (Larsen) Graves, Sr.
Formerly of Stamford and Darien, he moved to Southbury in 1998. He was self-employed in antiques restoration in both Stamford and Southbury.
Besides his wife, he leaves one son, William T. Graves III of Key Largo, Fla.; one daughter, Lee Ann Graves of Huntington, Conn.; two stepsons, James Ferullo of Sandy Hook and Sean Johnston of Southbury; one stepdaughter, Jennifer Ann Johnston of Boston; one brother, Richard T. Graves of Colorado; and one grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Friday, April 2, at 5 p.m. at the Newtown United Methodist Church, 92 Church Hill Road, Newtown. Arrangements by Carpino Funeral Home, 750 Main Street South, Southbury.
