GEORGETOWN - Martin 'Barney' Lecates, Jr. of Georgetown died of heart failure Tuesday, April 28, 1998, in his home. He was 75.
Mr. Lecates was a truck driver for the CHEER Center where he had been a aide for two years. He also worked part-time for Highs as a coffee maker.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth May (Taylor) Lecates, in 1971, and a grandson, Kyle West, 1988.
He is survived by a daughter, Bonnie West of Georgetown; four sons, Darryl, Billy, Jimmy, all of Georgetown and Johnny of Millsboro; 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren; and a close friend Joan Pepper.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Chapel of Short Funeral Services, E. Market St., Georgetown, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today.
Burial will follow the service in McColley's Cemetery, Redden.
Roberta C. Seger, 65
NEWTON, Kan. - Roberta C. 'Bobby' Seger of Newton, Kan., died in her home Wednesday, April 29, 1998. She was 65.
Mrs. Seger was born in Newton, Kan., in 1932, the daughter of the late Arthur and Gladys Morrison Crandall.
She was a graduate of Newton High School, class of 1950.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Seger was a member of Salem United Methodist Church, Newton, Kan., Newton & North Newton Planning & Zoning Commission; Citizen Utility Rate Payers State Board, appointed by Gov. Joan Finney; Eagles Aux. #2516; Democratic Federation; Kan. State Democrats.
Mrs. Seger was also a delegate at two Democratic National Conventions, 1988-1996.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Donna 'Tony' Nicodemus.
She is survived by her husband, Morris A. Seger of Newton Kan.; three sons, Eddy Seger of Clayton, James Seger and Steve Seger, both of Newton, Kan.; a sister, Marjorie Paulson of Hesston, Kan.; six grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
Service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Salem United Methodist Church, Newton, Kan.
The Rev. Lawrence Grove will officiate.
Friends may call Friday at Petersen Funeral Home 1-9 p.m.
Burial will be private.

Rev. Willie L. Murray, 82
CHESTER, PA. - Rev. Willie L. Murray of Chester, Pa., died in his home on Tuesday April 27, 1998. He was 82.
Mr. Murray was the pastor of the Holy Trinity U.A.M.E. Church, New and Reed streets, Dover, for the past 10 years.
Services will be at 12 p.m. Monday at the Spencer U.A.M.E. Church, 3rd and Jeffery streets, Chester, Pa., where friends may call three hours prior to service.
Rebecca Alice Mitchell, 77
LAUREL - Rebecca Alice Mitchell of Laurel, died Wednesday, April 29, 1998 in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. She was 77.
Mrs. Mitchell was born in Del. in 1920.
She was a domestic worker.
Mrs. Mitchell is survived by her son Phillip Mitchell of Edgewater, N.J.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mt. Nebo United Methodist Church, Columbia, where Rev. Gertrude Brown will officiate. Friends may call Friday 7-9 p.m. at the church.
Burial will follow the service in Mt. Nebo Church Cemetery, Columbia.
Harold Zinsmeister, 79
MILTON - Harold Zinsmeister of Milton, formerly of Chesterville and Van Wert, Ohio, died of a massive heart attack Friday, Apirl 24, 1998 in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. He was 79.
Mr. Zinsmeister was born in 1918 in Van Wert, Ohio.
He attended Van Wert High School until he joined the Civilian Conservation Corps in 1937, where he remained until 1940. The Conservation Corps was a government organization that did conservation work around the country.
Mr. Zinsmeister worked as a contractor and a farmer until 1940, at which time he joined the U.S. Army. He served with the 241st Medical Battalion during World War II. He also served as a trainer for new troops and was a medical supply sergeant in Rhineland, Germany, Central Europe and Ardennes, France. Following World War II, he served in the Army Reserve/Ohio National Guard at various locations.
As a member of the 112th Medical Brigade when he retired, due to medical reasons, Mr. Zinsmeister was a Command Sergeant Major and had been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. He rose from enlisted status to become the top ranking non-commissioned officer in the 112th Medical Bridgade for the state of Ohio. He was known as 'Mr. Medical'.
Mr. Zinsmeister worked as a car inspector for the New York Central Railroads for 18 years. He and his brother Robert owned and operated Z and Z Electronics, a tv installation and repair service.
He and his wife moved to the state of Del. in 1992 to live next door to their daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Melvin Fox, who helped care for Mr. Zinsmeister until his recent illness.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer Harold Zinmeister and Florence V. Howard Zinsmeister-Basinger, a daughter, Linda Kay Zinsmeister, and a son, Homer Benton Zinsmeister 'Benny'.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ruth J. Price-Zinsmeister; two sons, Harold Z. Zinsmeister Jr. of Spencerville, Ohio and Ronald G. Zinsmeister of Roscoe, Ill.; three daughters, Mrs. James Marland 'Florence' of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Melvin Fox 'Gloria', of Milton, and Mrs. Thomas Davis 'Donna' of Cardington, Ohio; the Kathy D. Zinsmeister, wife of the late Benny Zinsmeister, of Gahanna, Ohio; nine brothers and sisters; Mrs. Isabelle Williams of Mooresville, N.C., Gene Zinsmeister of Nebraska, Mrs. Don Koester 'Lois' of Toledo, Ohio, Robert Zinsmaster of Van Wert, Ohio, Mrs. Hollis Crawford 'Nancy' of Van Wert, Ohio, Mrs. Roger Tomlinson 'Carol' of Van Wert, Ohio, Mrs. Charles Stevenson of New Concord, Ohio, Mrs. Les Kuhlman 'Judy' of Rochester, Pa., and Mrs. Roger Reasoner 'Betty Sue' of Fort Wayne, Ind.; 16 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, 24 step-great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, as well as a Dachshund, Edgar, who was a constant companion and misses him dearly.
A military funeral service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Schoedinger's Majoram, Gahanna Chapel, 335 West Johnstown Rd., Gahanna, Ohio, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Friends may also call from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
A memorial service will be held in Delaware at a later date.
Burial will be private.

Harold Emerson Remley, 77
DOVER - Harold Emerson Remley of Dover died Wednesday, April 28, 1998, in Courtland Manor Nursing Home due to a cerebrovascular accident. He was 77.
Mr. Remley was born 1920 in Cheswold, to the late Norris Lee and Elizabeth Scarborough Remley.
He was a graduate of Dover High School and Temple University, where he received his Masters Degree.
He surved in the U.S. Army During World War II and the Korean Conflict.
Mr. Remley was a certified public accountant, where he operated his business in Dover for 30 years. He was a former mayor of Leipsic and he served as accountant for the Public Service Commission.
He was a member of Roby United Methodist Church in Leipsic. He enjoyed collecting stamps, coins, and old cars.
He is survived by his wife, Frances Dempsey Remley, of Dover; three daughters, Marilyn Spog of Viola, Annie Harris and Barbara Behrens, both of Wilmington; a sister, Marjorie Ashworth, of Sacramento, Ca., and four grandchildren.
A private service will be held Saturday at the Torbert Funeral Chapel, 61 South Bradford St., Dover.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Cheswold.

MILFORD - G. Edward Gross of Milford, formerly of Harrington, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, in Milford Manor Nursing Home. He was 68.
Mr. Gross was a member of the Harrington Senior Center and a resident for several years of Heritage Manor in Harrington.
Burial will be in Florida in the family lot.

Mabel M. Wright
DOVER - Mabel M. Wright of Dover, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, in Courtland Manor Nursing Home, Dover.
Mrs. Wright was a homemaker.
She is survived by her mother, Hester Pleasanton of Cape Coral, Fla.; her husband, Jimmy Wright of Dover; two sons, Richard Donahue and Ernie Rash, both of Millsboro; a stepson, James Wright of Layton, Utah; two daughters, Joanne Fitzcharles of Cape Coral, Fla., and Kay Biddle of Chapel Hill, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Jenny Fridman of Vale, Colo.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Delaware Veterans Cemetery Chapel, Bear. Friends may call 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the Faries Funeral Home, 1250 S. Governors Ave., Dover.

Madelyn E. Hoffecker, 86
CAMDEN - Madelyn E. Hoffecker of Camden, died of cancer Friday, May 1, 1998, in Bayhelth, Kent General Hospital. She was 86.
Mrs. Hoffecker was born 1912 in Dover, the daughter of the late Lewis L. and Bertha Fairess Emery.
She was educated in the Dover School District and attended the Octagonal School and Little Creek School, Little Creek.
She worked at International Playtex for 27 years, retiring in 1977.
Mrs. Hoffecker was a active member of the Dover First Seventh Day Adventist Church.
She enjoyed working in her yard where she had approximately 40 azaleas, along will numerous other flowers. She was a excellent cook and enjoyed having large family dinners.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. Hoffecker, 1962, her son, Ronald W. Hoffecker, 1974, and four brothers, Gordon, Robert, Donald, and Richard Emery.
She is survived by a son, Richard D. Hoffecker and his wife, Carole; four daughters, Patricia Yossick and her husband, Bert, Phyllis Samples and her husband, Norman, both of Dover, Stephanie King and her husband William of Viola, and Vicki Thornley and her husband, Jeff, of Camden; a brother, Charles Emery of Dover; two sisters, Mildred Burris and Louise Fountain, both of Dover; 22 grandchildren, Mark, David, Craig Yossick, Leslie Callahan, Jenifer Moran, Micheal, Keith, and Randy Samples, Kimberly DePitro, Killi Croft, Michelle Routen, Lori Pleasanton, Kevin Hoffecker, Ronald Hoffecker Moore, David Miller, Mathew and Nathan Hoffecker, Monica Anderson, Heather and Amber King and Christopher and Taylor Thornley; and 18 great-grandchildren.
