MILTON - Delema E. Reed of Milton, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 86.
Mrs. Reed was born in Georgetown, the daughter of the late Frank and Lillie Wilson Ward.
She was a homemaker.
She enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Reed was preceded in death by her husband, James R. Reed, in 1964.
She is survived by four daughters, Loretta Schlitter of Milton, Lillian Oldham of Dover, Barbara Keithley of Clayton and Helen Walls of Georgetown; two sons-in-law, Tony Schlitter of Milton and Gale Walls of Georgetown; a son, Franklin W. Reed of Harrington; a daughter-in-law, Clara McCready Reed of Harrington; two sisters, Margaret Vickers of Millsboro and Katherine Rust of Georgetown; 11 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at the Chapel of Short Funeral Service, 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call 7-9 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Lawrence E. Staton will officiate.
Burial will follow the service in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
Eldred Hicks, 64
FELTON - Eldred Hicks of Felton, died Thursday, April 30, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. He was 64.
Mr. Hicks was born in 1934, in Delaware.
He was well-known in his community and liked by all.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Hicks of Felton; a brother, Bennie Hicks; a sister, Edith Hicks; his mother-in-law, Louis Davis; a brother-in-law, Marvel Harris; and other relatives and friends.
Service will be noon today at the Bennie Smith Funeral Home in Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery, Dover.
Thelma R. Jewell, 89
MILFORD - Thelma R. Jewell of Milford, died of heart failure, Friday, May 1, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 89.
Ms. Jewell was born in Houston, the daughter of the late Clarence F. Jewell and Vertie Travis Jewell.
She owned and operated Jewell's Grocery Store in Milford for many years, retiring in 1988.
Ms. Jewell was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church of Milford, the Milford VFW Ladies Auxiliary, the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and the Soroptimist Club of Eastern Sussex County.
She is survived by a brother, Kenneth H. Jewell of Navasota, Texas; a nephew, Kenneth H. Jewell, II, of Milford; two nieces, Roxanne Jewell of Navasota, and Starr J. Fioca of Milford; three great-nieces and a great-nephew.
Services and burial will be private.

BELLTOWN - Dorlena A. Maull Waples Purnell of Belltown, near Lewes, died of congestive heart failure Thursday, April 30, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 78.
Mrs. Purnell was born in Lewes, daughter of the late Carl and Freda Mosley Maull.
She was a homemaker.
She was a member of the John Wesley United Methodist Church, Lewes.
Mrs. Purnell is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Joshua Purnell, 1983.
She is survived by a daughter, Alfreda Cannon and her husband Norman, of Lewes; a adopted son, Harry Tunnell Sr. of Lewes; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Service will be will be private. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St.

Suzanne M. Ragone, 46
NORTH VERNON, Ind. - Suzanne M. Ragone of North Vernon, died Thursday, April 30, 1998 in Methodist Memorial Hospital, Indianapolis. She was 46.
Mrs. Vernon moved to North Vernon in 1997 from Seaford, Del. While in Seaford, she was a physical therapist for the handicapped children at Katie L. Handy School, she worked there for 12 years. In Indiana, she was a physical therapist for Liberty Health Developmental Service Inc., Seymour, Ind.
She is survived by a son, Christopher A. Ragone of Seaford; a daughter, Stephanie A. Rangone of North Vernon; and her mother, Loretta Murray of North Vernon.
Service will be 3 p.m. Monday at Our Lady Of Lourdes Catholic Church, Stein Highway, Seaford.

DELMAR - Ida M. Lecurts of Delmar, formerly of Laurel, died of cancer Friday May 1, 1998 in Chancellor Care Center, Delmar. She was 89.
Mrs. Lecurts was born in Pittsville, Md., the daughter of the late Horace and Clara Parsons Carey.
She was a nurse's aide at Beebe Medical Center, Lewes, for 15 years retiring, 1971.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Melvin W. Lacurts, 1967.
She is survived by a son, Marion P. Lecurts of Delmar, Md.; five grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour prior to service, The Rev. Ray Chamberlain will officiate.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, near Willards, Md.
Susan Frank Owen, 49
CHARLESTON S.C. - Susan Frank Owen of Charleston, died of cancer Friday, May 1, 1998 in the home of her mother in Bethany Beach. She was 49.
Mrs. Owen was a realtor.
She is survived by her husband, Ora J. Owen; a son, Josh Shaw of Rockville, Md.; her mother, Betty Frank of Bethany Beach; a brother, Richard W. Frank of Washington, D.C.; a sister, Betsy Rathvon of Atlanta.
Service will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Martha's Episcopal Church, Pennsylvania and Maplewood avenues, Bethany Beach, where the Rev. John F. Hird will officiate.

ROXANA - Louise B. Wilgus of Roxana, died from injuries received in an auto accident Friday, May 1, 1998, in Peninsula Regional Medical Center, Salisbury, Md. She was 78.
Mrs. Wilgus and her husband owned and managed Wilgus Service Station, Roxana, for over 41 years, before she retired.
She was the chaplain and past worthy Matron of Frankford Chapter 12, order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by her husband, of 57 years, Wilson J. Wilgus, 1997.
She is survived by a nephew and five nieces.
Service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, at the Chapel of Melson Funeral Services, Frankford, where friends may call one hour prior to the service, the Rev. Fred Duncan will officiate.
Burial will be in the Roxana Cemetery, Roxana.

Mrs. Linsenmeyer was born in Brooklyn, N.Y.

She was a member of the Fair Winds Baptist Church, Bear.
Mrs. Linsenmeyer is preceded in death by her husband Fred Linsenmeyer, 1962.
She is survived by two daughters, Margaret Insley of Dover, Trudy Achenbach of Smyrna; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.

Christina was born March 13, 1998, in Dover, daughter of Monroe G. and Debbie M. Chew.
She is preceded in death by a brother, Monroe Grayson Chew VI, 1996.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by three sisters, Magen Lynn, Wendy Lorraine, and Sabrina R. Chew, all of Magnolia; her grandparents, Monroe Chew IV of District Heights, Md., Marie Anne Chew of Massachusetts, Charles Thompson Jr. and Hazel Marie Thompson of Dover; and a Aunt, Lisa Harris of Dover.
