John J.Reischman Sr., 76

DOVER - John J. Reischman, Sr. of Dover, died of a long illness Friday, May 1, 1998 in Bayhealth, Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 76.

Mr. Reischman was born 1922 in Brooklyn, N.Y., the son of the late Vincent and Minnie Reischman.

He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II.

He worked as a printing press operator in New York City, for 40 years, retiring in 1985.

He moved to Dover in 1993, and had spent the last four years in the Delaware Hospital for the Chronically Ill. He was a member of the American Legion.

Mr. Reischman enjoyed working with his hands.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Reischman; a son, John J. Reischman Jr.; three daughters, Patricia Mohr and her husband, William of Greenwood, Kathleen Watklevicz of South Amboy, N.J., and Christina Emrich and her husband, Michael, of Fort Bragg, N.C.; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Service will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Torbert Funeral Home Chapel, 61 S. Bradford St., Dover, where friends may call 2-4 p.m. and from 7-9 p.m.

Burial will be 10:30 Wednesday in Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear.

Charles H. Kilby, 59

HOUSTON - Charles H. Kilby of Houston, died of heart failure Friday, May 1, 1998, in Christiana Medical Center, Christiana. He was 59.

Mr. Kilby was born 1938 in Lancaster, Pa., he was raised in Chilhowie, Va.

He had held a bachelor of science degree from the University of Maryland, he was also a graduate of the Air Force N.C.O. Academy and the Senior N.C.O. Academy.

He served in the United States Air Force, he served his country loyally for 24 years serving several tours over seas in support of american troops and service me around the world.

He worked as an electrical engineer for Lockhead Maetetta Corporation.

Mr. Kilby was a member of Forrest Heights Baptist Church, Clovis, N.M., where he served as a deacon, youth group co-ordinator and sunday school director.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Baldwin Killey of 39 years; son and daughter-in-law Stephen and Donna Kilby of Dover, another son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Trudy Kilby of Mansfield, Conn.; three sisters, Emma Blevins, Brenda Sauls, Marie Cress, all of Chilhowie, Va.; three brothers, Daryll Kilby and Richard Kilby, both of Chilhowie, and Malcolm and Pat Baldwin of Norwich, England; four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Milford Baptist Church, Shawnee Road, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior to service.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milford.

Instead of flowers contributions can be made to American Diabetes Association, Main Sail Drive, Milton or American Heart Association, Georgetown, DE

Andrew L. Varga, 71

SEAFORD - Andrew L. Varga of Seaford, died of congestive heart failure Saturday, May 2, 1998 in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was 71.

Mr. Varga was born in 1926 in Yonkers, N.Y.

He graduated from Niagara University, 1952 with a bachelor's of science in business administration.

He was a World War II veteran, serving in the United States Navy and on his stations was aboard the USS Lake Champlain.

Mr. Varga worked as a systems specialist for the DuPont Company, Niagara Falls, N.Y., from 1952-1960, and in Seaford plant from 1960 to his retirement in 1985.

He enjoyed fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Joanne Curry Varga; two sons, Andrew L. Varga Jr. of Niagara Falls, Alexander B. Varga of Laurel; three daughters, Julia K. Varga of Independence, Mo., Myra E. Parham, Virginia Beech, Va., Karen L. Absher of Seaford; a brother, William Alexander Varga of Fort Myers, Fla., a sister, Helen Querioga of North Port, Fla.; five grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

Service and burial will be private.

Arrangements by Flieschauer Funeral Home, Greenwood.

Ernest Roland 'Pop Pop' Hughes, 95

SEAFORD - Ernest Roland 'Pop Pop' Hughes died of heart failure Saturday, May 2, 1998, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford. He was 95.

Mr. Hughes was born in Cambridge, Md., son of the late Charles H. and Mamie Slacum Hughes.

He worked as carpenter for DuPont Co., retiring in 1965 after 22 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Hannah Bell Bradford Hughes in 1990.

He is survived by two daughters, Marion H. Merrill and her husband Richard of Seaford, Victoria A. Thompson and her husband Alfred of Seaford; a grandson, Stephen R. Brock and his wife Sandy of Seaford.

Service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Watson-Yates Funeral Home, Front and King streets, Seaford, where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Chaplain Richard L. Drummond will officiate.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Seaford.

Helen V. Rose, 83

BRIDGEVILLE - Helen V. Rose of Bridgeville, died of complications from pneumonia Saturday, May 2, 1998, in her son's home. She was 83.

Mrs. Rose was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her first husband, Calvin 'Boots' Hassett, in 1953, and her second husband, Alton J. Rose, in 1996.

She is survived by two sons, James Hassett and A.J. Rose, both of Bridgeville; a daughter, Jacqueline Timms of Federalsburg, Md.; a niece and a nephew; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild.

Graveside service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday in Bridgeville Cemetery.

Clyetta B. Main, 61

GEORGETOWN - Clyetta B. Main of Georgetown, died Saturday, May 2, 1998, in Milford Memorial Hospital, Milford. She was 61.

Mrs. Main was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Edgar Main, 1993.

She is survived by a son Charles E. Main of Georgetown; two daughters, Donna F. Newcomer, and Sheila L. Esham, both of Georgetown; three sisters, Ether Wyatt of Georgetown, Ethel Wiles of Huntington, Md., and Bernice Milam of Redden; and seven grandchildren.

Serivice will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Parsell Funeral Homes and Crematorium-Dodd-Carey Chapel, 307 N. Bedford St., Georgetown.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the at the funeral home.

Burial will be in McColley's Cemetery, Georgetown.

DOVER - John J. Reischman, Sr. of Dover, died of a long illness Friday, May 1, 1998 in Bayhealth, Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 76.

Donald Roney Bell, 54

DOVER - Donald Roney Bell of Dover, died Sunday, May 3, 1998, in Kent General Hospital. He was 54.

Mr. Bell was the son of the late Rodney Huppiee and Mary Brown Bell.

He was a mobile-home salesman for Ron's Mobile Homes, Harrington, fora couple of years.

Mr. Bell enjoyed collecting and trading radio equipment in his spare time; he also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Laurie Bell.

He is survived by three sons, Michael Morris Bell of Dover, and Rodney Bell and Scott Boling, both of Woodside; a daughter, Donna Carey and her husband, Carleton E. Carey Jr. of Dover; six grandchildren, Matthew Carey, Eric Carey, Bryan Morris, Michael Morris, Amanda Morris and Christopher Boling; and a host of friends.

Service will be 2 p.m. today at the Trader Funeral Home, Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to service.

Burial will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Camden.

Everett Oram Griffin, 69

MILFORD - Everett Oram Griffin of Milford, died of heart failure Saturday,May 2, 1998, in Bayhealth Milford Hospital, Milford. He was 69.

Mr. Griffin was a metal worker at Fitzgerald Auto Salvage, Lincoln

He is survived by his wife, Shirley Tucker Griffin of Milford; two sons, Ronnie Griffin and Bruce Griffin, both of Milford; a daughter, Lisa Griffin of Harrington; a brother, Alex Griffin Jr. of Bridgeville; two sisters, Grace Dill of Greenwood and Mary Dunn of Bridgeville; and three grandchildren; including a special granddaughter, Kelly Wise of Harrington.

Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Young's Funeral Homes, Milford, where friends may call one hour prior to service.

Burial will be in Old Hickory Cemetery, Slaughter Neck.
