MIDDLETOWN - Louis Jacono of Middletown, died of a heart attack Thursday, May 7, 1998, at work. He was 70.
Mr. Jacono was an Army veteran.
He was working as a consultant for the Montell Corp., Elkton, Md. He retired in 1993 from Highmont, and he also worked for Hercules Co. for over 30 years as a mechanical engineer.
Mr. Jacono enjoyed doing carpentry and woodworking in his spare time. He also enjoyed traveling.
He was a member of the Woodworkers Guild of Delaware.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Helen D. Jacono; three sons, Steve of Middletown, Bruce of San Diego, Calif., and Eric of Bear; two daughters, Colette Jacono of Gainesville, Fla., and Carla Dabundo of Boothwyn, Pa.; three sisters, Regina Wojciechowsky of Fla., Elsie Newsham of Lewes, and Theresa Minor of Ithaca, N.Y.; and five grandchildren.
Service will be 7 p.m. Monday at the Daniels and Hutchison Funeral Home, 212 N. Broad St., Middletown, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be private.

Henrietta Caldwell, 84
NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Henrietta Caldwell of Norristown, died Wednesday, May 6, 1998, in the Rittenhouse Pine Center for the Elderly, Norristown. She was 84.
Mrs. Caldwell was born in 1913 in Westmoreland County, Va., the daughter of the late Jefferson and Rosalee Coleman.
She attended school in Westmoreland, Va.
Mrs. Caldwell was a domestic worker most of her life.
She was a mother and a member of The Fountain Of Life Community Church, Norristown; she would help in any way she could, as well as helping out in other churches when needed as long as she could.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelson Caldwell.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends, Sister Grace Watson of Clayton and other very devoted friends, Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Briggus, Sylvia 'Baby' Lawton, Neal Driggus, and Mr. and Mrs. Elton Woodall, all of Star Hill.
Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Star Hill AME Church, Star Hill, where friends may call two hours prior to the service.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Dover.

Claude R. Neeman, 81
GREENWOOD - Claude R. Neeman of Greenwood, and formerly of Harrington, died Friday, May 8, 1998, in Country Rest Home.
Mr. Neeman was raised on a farm in Felton.
He attended Felton Schools.
Mr. Neeman served in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers from 1944-1946.
He retired from the General Baking Co., Harrington, after many years of service.
Mr. Neeman enjoyed fox hunting and caning chairs, and was a loyal fan of the New York Yankees.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Rash Neeman, in 1995.
He is survived by two daughters, Claudia Hughes of Wilmington and Brenda Pomianoski of Skillman, N.J.; a sister, Elizabeth Artis of Dover; and three brothers, Roland Neeman of Camden, Gerald Neeman of Hockessin and William Neeman of Indiana.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Monday at Price Funeral Home, 6 Dorman St., Harrington.
Instead of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the charity of one's choice in memory of Mr. Neeman.
Mary Marie Virdin, 78
DOVER - Mary Marie Virdin of Dover, died Friday, May 7, 1998, in Silver Lake Nursing Home. She was 78.
Mrs. Virdin was a homemaker.
She was a member of the Cowgirls Homemaker Club and attended Roby United Methodist Church, Leipsic.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Odella Davis, and her husband, William Artis Virdin in 1960.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Jack and his wife Diane Virdin of Dover, Robert Olin and his wife Sandra Virdin of Hartly, and Ronald Lee and his wife Marie Virdin of Smyrna; a daughter, Sonja Marie and her husband Elwood Carey of Dover; 10 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
Service will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Trader Funeral Home, 12 Lotus St., Dover, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Burial will be at Sharon Hill Memorial Park, Dover.
Alvin Gordon 'Chum' Wilson, 67
DOVER - Alvin Gordon 'Chum' Wilson, who lived near Dover, died of heart failure Wednesday, April 22, 1998, in Christiana Hospital. He was 67.
Mr. Wilson was the middle son of the late Charles R. Wilson, Jr. and Mabel Webb Wilson of Ellendale.
He was a lifelong farmer.
Mr. Wilson was a member of the Delaware Farm Bureau for many years; a member of the Magnolia United Methodist Church, where he served as a lay leader and trustee; a member of the pastor-parish committee and the administrative board; and a charter member of the Magnolia Ruritan, holding positions of president, vice president and board member.
He enjoyed farming, sports and a little traveling. He was a loving husband, father and grandpa.
He was preceded in death by his older brother, Harold A. Wilson.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Loretta Wyatt Wilson; one son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Judy Wilson of near Dover; two daughters and sons-in-law, Freida and Kevin Livingston of Dover and Cynthia and Todd Marvel of Magnolia; four grandchildren, Kelly, Charles and Clinton Wilson and Daniel White, all of Dover; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Bernice Wilson of Bridgeville; a sister-in-law, Emma Jane Wilson of Ellendale; and a mother-in-law, to whom he was devoted, Sarah Frances DeBary of near Dover.
Service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the Magnolia United Methodist Church, Main Street, Magnolia.

Robert William Jack II, 89
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Robert William Jack II died Thursday, April 23, 1998, in the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. He was 89.
Mr. Jack was born in 1908, in Stamford, Conn.
He spent his early years in Indiana. He lived in Wilmington, Del., until he retired from the Wilmington Medical Center in 1973, then moved to Millsboro, Del. He moved to Independence Village in Winston-Salem in 1996. From 1953-1963, he was the first executive director of the Delaware Division, American Cancer Society.
Mr. Jack was a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army Air Corps, 9th Air Force.
He was a 32nd-degree Mason. He celebrated 50 years of service in Freemasonry March 14, 1996. He was a life member of Eureka-DuPont Lodge No. 23-29 in Wilmington.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Wood Jack, in 1986.
He is survived by two children, Bonnie Ruth Jack of Winston-Salem, and Robert W. Jack III, and his wife, Lorie, of Lynn Haven, Fla.; two granddaughters, Heather L. Raudenbush of Winston-Salem and Amy C. Raudenbush, and her husband, William Almy, of Somerville, Mass.; and two first cousins, Jack Kendall of Wilmington and Paul Kendall of Green Valley, Ariz.
There will be a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. Saturday at the Independence Village in Winston-Salem.
Mr. Jack will be cremated, and his remains are to be buried next to his wife in All Souls Cemetery, St. George's Chapel, Angola, Del.

Elizabeth M. Drechsler, 75
REHOBOTH BEACH, - Elizabeth M. Drechsler of Rehoboth Beach, formerly of Cobb Island, Md., died of lung cancer Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in her home. She was 75.
Mrs. Drechsler was born in 1923, in Roanoke, Va., the daughter of the late Albert C. Gearheart and Sallie A. Leslie.
She was employed by C&P Telephone Co. as an engineering drawing clerk for 28 years, retiring in 1984.
Mrs. Drechsler was a member of Telephone Pioneers of America; American Legion Auxiliary Post 5, Rehoboth Beach; Disabled American Veterans Ladies Auxiliary; and the Cape Henlopen Senior Center.
She is survived by her husband, Marvin L. Drechsler of Rehoboth Beach; a daughter, Shirley Hamilton of Waldorf, Md.; two stepdaughters, Carole Patton of Clifton, Va., and Bonnie Heckner of Crownsville, Md.; two sisters, Rasteen Moore of Winchester, Va., and Gloria Kiessling of Waldorf; two brothers, Marvin Gearheart of Gordonsville, Va., and Arthur Gearheart of Elkridge, Md.; five step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

John U. Leventry Sr., 85
MELBOURNE, Fla. - John U. Leventry Sr. of Melbourne, died Friday, April 10, 1998, in Melbourne. He was 85.
Mr. Leventry was born in 1913, in Johnstown, Pa., the oldest of seven children of the late Arthur and Edith Leventry.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen I. Young Leventry, in 1995.
He is survived by two sons, John U. Jr. of Churchton, Md., and Frederick Roy of Cape St. Claire, Md.; three grandchildren, Mrs. Rita Marie Boberge of Virginia Beach, Va., and Roy Frederick and Robin Anne of Cape St. Claire; one sister, Louise Hogue of Johnstown, Pa.; twin brothers, William Leventry of Ephrata, Pa., and Robert Leventry of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; a brother, Frederick David of Fort Myers, Fla.; and his friend, Christine Bomboy of Ocean City, Md.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. today at Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington Street, Millsboro, Del.

Edward 'Duckie' Gourley, 67
FELTON - Edward 'Duckie' Gourley of Felton, died of heart failure Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in his home. He was 67.
Mr. Gourley was born in Frederica, the son of the late David K. and Alice Gourley.
He worked as a machine operator for Playtex, retiring, in 1992, from Plant 3 after 44 years.
Mr. Gourley loved to go camping and fishing, and being close to nature and animals, especially squirrels. He was an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhart being his favorite driver. He was a loving father and husband who enjoyed being with his children and playing with his grandchildren. He was an easygoing individual who had lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Wanda; a son, Johnny; and an aunt, Mae.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Gourley of Felton; a daughter, Janet Shaw of Felton, and her husband, Matt; two sons, Dennis L. Gourley of Dover, and his wife, Loretta, and Kenneth Gourley of Milford, and his wife, Cindy; five grandchildren, Tracie, Yvonne, Katie, Kenneth Jr. and Jason; and a cousin, Susan Sylvester.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. today.
Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetary in Frederica.
Doris Finn, 58
DOVER - Doris Finn of Dover, died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in the Christiana Hospital. She was 58.
Mrs. Finn was a homemaker. She and her husband had owned and operated D&E Crafts in Dover 10 years ago.
She loved bingo, needlepoint, cross-stitch, any art and crafts and any volunteer work to do with either the Sunshine Foundation or any chronically or terminally ill children.
Mrs. Finn was a member of the Harrington Women of the Moose Chapter, American Legion Chapter and American Legion Ladies Auxiliary 14 in Smyrna, and was vice president of the We Care Chapter of the Sunshine Foundation. She was the past president of the Air Force Sergeants Association Ladies Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband, Ernest H. Finn; and two sisters, Mariana Bartowski and Leana Hockbine, both of Krefeld, Germany.
Service will be private.
