CLAYTON - Samuel M. Jenkins Jr. of Clayton died Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital, Dover. He was 65.
Mr. Jenkins was born and raised in Wilmington.
He graduated from Delaware State College (now University) in 1982. He obtained a master's degree from Central Michigan University in 1983. He served in the U.S. Air Force for 24 years and retired in 1974 with the rank of master sergeant. After his retirement from the Air Force, he was employed as a vocational teacher. He taught at several schools over a 12-year period, and retired from the Ferris School for Boys, Wilmington, in 1986.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Kay S. 'Sandy' Jenkins; two sons, Samuel M. Jenkins III of Clayton and John M. Jenkins of Philadelphia; two daughters, Margaret A. Jenkins of Smyrna and Rose Kobielnik of Philadelphia; a brother, Norman Jenkins of Painter, Va.; and 12 grandchildren.
Services will be noon Friday at the chapel of the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Del. 896 near Summit Bridge.
Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

Edward 'Duckie' Gourley, 67
FELTON - Edward 'Duckie' Gourley of Felton died of heart failure Tuesday, April 21, 1998, in his home. He was 67.
Mr. Gourley was born in Frederica, the son of the late David K. and Alice Gourley.
He worked as a machine operator for Playtex, retiring, in 1992, from Plant 3 after 44 years.
Mr. Gourley loved to go camping and fishing, and being close to nature and animals, especially squirrels. He was an avid NASCAR fan, with Dale Earnhart being his favorite driver. He was a loving father and husband who enjoyed being with his children and playing with his grandchildren. He was an easygoing individual who had lots of friends.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Margaret Gourley of Felton; a daughter, Janet Shaw of Felton, and her husband, Matt; two sons, Dennis L. Gourley of Dover, and his wife, Loretta, and Kenneth Gourley of Milford and his wife, Cindy; and five grandchildren, Tracie, Yvonne, Katie, Kenneth Jr. and Jason.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at the Melvin Funeral Home, 15522 South DuPont Highway, Harrington, where friends may call from 7-9 p.m. Friday.
Burial will be in Barratt's Chapel Cemetary in Frederica.
Stacie E. Cline, 65
LEWES - Stacie E. Cline of Angola By-the-Bay, Lewes, formerly of Hockessin, died of heart failure Friday, April 17, 1998, in Beebe Medical Center, Lewes. She was 65.
Mrs. Cline was born in Modena, Pa., the daughter of the late Heber and Iva Reynolds Rhoades.
She was a homemaker. She was a 1950 graduate of Claymont High School, Claymont, and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Hockessin Fire Co., and the Ladies Club of Angola-by-the-Bay.
She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Edward L. Cline Sr.; a son, Edward L. Cline Jr. of Middletown; four daughters, Deborah Sarley of Lewes, Lois Lawson of Smyrna, Cynthia Dobson of Port Deposit, Md., and Iva Soja of Hartly; a sister, Marjorie Taggert of Ocean View; 11 grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 Washington St., Millsboro, where friends may call one hour before.
Burial will be in the Chester-Bethel Cemetery, Foulk Road, Claymont.

Corine Palmer Fisher, 60
DOVER - Corine Palmer Fisher of Dover died in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital Saturday, April 18, 1998. She was 60.
Mrs. Fisher was born June 17, 1937, in Woodside, the daughter of Horace Tribbett and the late Catherine Tribbett.
She was raised in Woodside. She attended school at Booker T. Washington and William Henry schools. She worked for General Foods Corp. for 25 years, retiring March 31, 1997.
She is survived by a son, John B. Tribbett of Dover; two daughters, Gloria Smith Robinson of Goldsboro, Md., and Carol Tribbett of Dover; three brothers, June Harris of Magnolia, John Tribbett of Smyrna and Russell Tribbett of Dover; six sisters, Ruth Burris of Magnolia, Louise Dickerson of Camden, N.J., Lillian Quail of Felton, Frances Lamb and Maude Young, both of Dover, and Mildred Harris of Woodside; 10 grandchildren, Edward Tribbett of Rehoboth Beach, Lamont Smith, Lanay Smith, Catherine Smith and Henry Smith, all of Felton, David Tribbett and Lamar Tribbett, both of Dover, Keisha Justice and Neshell Justice, both of Accomac, Va., and Demetiris Baynard of Wilmington; four great-grandchildren; her devoted friend, Albert Jones; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Paul Dennis, 72
FRANKFORD - Paul Dennis of Frankford, died of pneumonia Friday, April 17, 1998. He was 72.
Mr. Dennis was born Sept. 15, 1926, in Wilson, N.C.
He was a poultry worker at Mountaire Farms.
He is survived by three sons, Richard Dale Showell of Baltimore, Cluetus Hoskins of Washington, D.C., Kenny of California; a sister, Geneva Kearny of Wilson; a grandson, Julian Lipscomb of Berlin, Md.; and nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Calvary Pentecostal Church, Bishopville, Md., where friends may call two hours before the service.

Layman Sylvester Kilgo Sr., 66
SEAFORD - Layman Sylvester 'Sonny' Kilgo Sr. of Seaford, died of heart failure Sunday, April 19, 1998, in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital. He was 66.
Mr. Kilgo was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Seaford.
He served in the U.S. Army.
Mr. Kilgo was a member of the United Assembly of Christ, Bridgeville, and he sang with the Westinairs Group.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Kilgo of Seaford; two sons, Nathaniel Beulah of Minneapolis and Layman Sylvester Kilgo Jr. of Seaford; seven daughters, Iris Cannon, Melissa Smith, Theresa Bracey and Sonya Whitney, all of Seaford, Karen Doakes of Bridgeville, Dawn Cannon of Fort Meade, Md., and Kimberly Gibbs of Harrington; four stepsons, Carlton Hughes Sr. of Seaford, Thomas Hughes of Milton, Kevin Gibbs of Ellendale and Adrian Gibbs of Bridgeville; four brothers, Frank Kilgo, James Kilgo, Fred Kilgo and Harry Kilgo, all of Seaford; three sisters, Alice Blockson of Seaford, Sherlene Mason of Chicago, and Mary Taylor of Boston; 33 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 11 brothers-in-law; seven sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

James Clark Jr., 58
BRIDGEVILLE - James Clark Jr. of Bridgeville, died of a stroke Monday, April 20, 1998 in Bayhealth Kent General Hospital. He was 58.
Mr. Clark was born July 11, 1940, in Jackson, N.C.
He was employed by Townsends Inc., Millsboro.
He is survived by his mother, Mozzellar White of Bridgeville; his stepfather, Stanford White, also of Bridgeville; five brothers, Lee Marvin Clemons of North Carolina, Mack Lane Matthews of Indiana, and Temecorie Matthews, Andrew Matthews and Redell Matthews, all of Bridgeville; three sisters, Barbara Jean Boone, Pattie Matthews of Bridgeville and Violet Broughton of Seaford; three brothers-in-law; five sisters-in-law; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 3:30 p.m. Saturday at Mount Olive Baptist Church in Bridgeville. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at Young's Funeral Home, 308 N. Front Street, Seaford.
Burial will be in Middleford Cemetery.
Harriet George Bareford, 70
ANNANDALE, Va. - Harriet George Bareford of Annandale, formerly of Denton, Md. died Tuesday, September 30, 1997. She was 70.
Mrs. Bareford was born in Denton, the daughter of the late Walter T. George and Lellye Grey Cheezum George.
She worked for the Department of Defense, retiring in 1982.
Mrs. Bareford was a member of the Jessica Callahan Order of the Eastern Star in Alexandria.
She is survived by one daughter, Gail B. Stansbury of Annandale; one brother, Wesley R. George of Hanover, Pa.; one sister, Helen G. Bennington of Warrenton; one grandson, Austin Hess and two granddaughters, Tiffany Stansbury and Amie Hess.
There will be a graveside memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday in Denton Cemetery, Denton.

She is survived by two sons, Glen Nichols of Oklahoma and Mark Nichols of Platt City, Mo.; one daughter, Robin Stuckey of Platty City; three grandchildren, and two step-grandchildren; her mother, Delema Allen of Dover; one brother, Paul M. Allen of Felton; two sisters, Olive Austin of Dover and Mary Ann Rodriguez of Roper, N.C.
Service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Davis Funeral Home in Leavenworth, Kan.

Marjorie Lee Williams, 76
FRANKFORD - Marjorie Lee Williams of Frankford, died of chronic renal failure Friday, April 17, 1998, in the Harbor Healthcare Rehabilitation Center in Lewes. She was 76.
Mrs. Williams was born in Berlin, Md., the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Lee Davis Tingle.
She was a desk clerk at the Oceanic Motel in Ocean City, Md., for 22 years, retiring in 1991.
Mrs. Williams was a member of the St. John's United Methodist Church in Berlin.
She is survived by her husband of 31 years, Louis S. Williams; five sons, Calvin Davis of Bishopville, Md., Robert Davis of Berlin, Vincent Davis and Jeffrey Taylor, both of Frankford, and John Monroe of Philadelphia; four daughters, Margaret Purnell of Georgetown, Debra Taylor of Millsboro, Janet Johnson of Annapolis, Md., and Pamela Davis of Frankford; 14 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Service will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvary Pentecostal Church, Worchester Highway, Bishopville, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
